Advertisment on IG said they opened at 4, they didnt open until 4:30, then its was still a 25 minute wait. A waitress came out of the woman's restroom shrieking about a rodent, therefore they closed the women's restroom and my wife couldn't use it. They Directed us to the bar area to wait, where they appeared to have two different pricing on their menus. We happen to pick up the menu where the Napa Chardonnay and Cabernet where priced at $2 less than the happy hour menu's, yet they offered a $3 discount per glass, for happy hour. The discount came out to $1 each instead due to the menu's mistake Finally came our turn to be seated, and we're told we can not have a virw by the windows, they are for reservations only. Came here to celebrate the holidays with friends and because it was a Sunday brunch was the only dining option. We were seated very quickly once all our party arrived. Because we had a larger party our table was towards the back away from the windows so we weren't able to enjoy the view. IMO the brunch is a bargain at $47/pp including free flowing champagne. Highlights were the peeled shrimp, mussels, crab legs, standard American breakfast options, bbq pork/beef ribs, beef/chicken fajitas, and of course the prime ribs. Dessert was very basic with squares of basic cakes and cookies. The food dishes were always refilled promptly, clean plates were always available, and used plates were picked up promptly. More importantly the champagne glasses were always refilled quickly. Only downside is food is spread across 3 rooms through narrow passageways so at times there is some congestion. I came for my birthday dinner with my elderly grandmother with much anticipation. We moved ourselves 1 table over for a better view of the freeway right after we were seated , the place wasn't busy so we figured it would be an issue, Delilah came up and asked us if we moved tables, no hello, nothing , and told us to move to another table after we had moved our own menus and waters , I asked if it was absolutely necessary , mind you all three tables were within arm's reach of eachother, she insisted we move with negative bossy tone, immediately threw off my vibe, and I no longer felt comfortable in the restaurant nor spending my money there. So told her we were leaving as she brought out the bread . She made no attempt to remedy the situation or even ask if everything was okay, she just said "okay" and let us leave. Terrible customer service. We were both very excited to eat here and both first timers. Really bad first impression. If I were my own server I would've made a note that this particular table was still mine even if it was out of my "section" by literally three feet. The table she moved us to was even further from our original table. Servers should know that the customer is always right, especially in an establishment this nice. Poor attitude from Delilah. Maybe if she was nicer about how she went about shooing us back into her section we wouldn't have minded having to move tables twice just to get service. Exceptional is all I have to say. My meal has been unmatched and I've been looking for any place that compares to their filet mignon. The location is aged assuming it historic, some questionable outer aesthetics safety wonders but was there to eat, lol. This is not a restaurant. This is a hangout place for people that want to just drink and maybe as a second thought have something to eat. We made the mistake of being there when they only serve buffet. A very sub-par buffet, with limited food choices and very low quality; for which they charge close to $50 a person. Definitely not worth it. And we had a person with mobility issues for which the only access to the restaurant was via their employee parking lot way on the other side of the restaurant. This time a Friday night at 7 pm the parking lot seemed a bit deserted compared to all previous visits. We went in and we were seated right away, which seemed a bit odd. After our dining experience I understood why, it ain't what it used to be. The prime rib was tough, baked potato just ok, scampi and scallops small kid sized portion with what seemed to my wife to be Alfredo sauce. Came here with friends for a bachelorette lunch. This place is a hideaway in the middle of the city. Driving up the hill, there is a view (albeit of the freeway) and a large parking lot. You go down stairs into the restaurant and check in with the hostess. There are lots of big parties there TVs with sports on. Lots of big parties are there too. This place can host weddings/events. We came for the brunch buffet and there was an impressive spread. There was a carving station, eggs Benedict station, waffle, omelette station. There's a section for Mexican bfast with chilaquiles and salsas. Then there's American breakfast food like scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, crepes (though weirdly rolled and steamed to a mush together), rice pilaf, blanched veges. My family and I traveled an hour and a half to visit this restaurant tonight. It was our first time dining here, and our expectations were very high. The restaurant itself has a wonderful ambiance, and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. The food was good as well. Unfortunately, the service was some of the worst I've ever experienced. I have never complained about service at a restaurant in my life, so writing this is not something I take lightly. Our server seemed extremely distracted throughout the evening. She spent time telling us how she didn't expect so many people to keep coming in, how busy the night had become, and even talked about recently purchasing a new car and how expensive cars are nowadays. After our food was brought out by what appeared to be the chef or a manager, our server never came back to check on us. She never asked how our food was or whether we needed anything, and she never refilled our drinks. We sat for approximately 20 minutes after finishing our meal before finally flagging down another server and asking them to find her. When she eventually returned, she couldn't remember everyone's orders, which I understand can happen on a busy night. I asked for a refill, and she quickly left without asking whether my husband or daughter needed anything. When she returned, she brought me two drinks instead of one. At that point, I asked if my husband and daughter could also get refills and if we could have boxes for our leftovers and a dessert menu. She said, "Oh, yes," and disappeared again for another 20 minutes. When she finally came back, she brought refills for my husband and daughter but still no boxes and no dessert menu. I politely asked again for boxes and a dessert menu. She again responded, "Oh, yes, that's right," and walked away. She eventually returned with boxes, stood there silently, and stared at me. I had to ask, "Are those for us?" She replied, "Yes, yes, yes," and handed them to me. She was also holding a bag but continued to stare until I finally asked, "Is that bag for us too?" She answered, "Oh, yes, it is," and walked away again. After waiting another 10 minutes for the dessert menu that never came, I finally went to speak with the gentleman who had brought out our food. I told him that I have never complained about anyone before and felt terrible doing so, but I believed this experience was something management needed to know. He was apologetic and sincerely sorry for what had happened. What made the experience even more disappointing was that, after acknowledging the poor service and apologizing, nothing was offered to make the situation right--not even a complimentary dessert, a discount, or any gesture of goodwill. I wasn't looking for anything free, but after driving an hour and a half to dine here and having such a poor experience, some effort to remedy the situation would have gone a long way. It's unfortunate because the restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere and good food, but the service completely overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable experience. I used to come here very frequently; this was one of my family's favorite go-to spots. We even hosted a 100+ person family gathering two years back. I called in advance yesterday, told them if they didn't have room it was fine because today was my mother's birthday and that was very important. They said there was room and let us in. We came in a minutes late today since the parking took awhile (it was paid valet only because of a private event that we weren't told about). Our reservation got cancelled and without an apology the hostess blamed us for being late. We asked for an approx. time and they said it could be half an hour, an hour we don't know. They had overbooked our time slot by about 20 parties. We waited about half an hour before we left since they didn't seem to care to give anyone replies and just had everyone waiting. Then, valet charged $8 for the time we were waiting since they had nothing to do with the restaurant's mistake. I loved the food at this place but the service and messiness of this place was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Come here if you're looking to get insulted by the receptionist and then be in for an hour long standing wait for food you can get at any other steakhouse. Friday night Happy Hour. Place is empty. I didn't mind it since there was a place to sit and we had the attention of the bartender. Enjoyed the prime rib nachos and a rack of pork ribs. Ribs were fall off the bone and the prime rib nachos were served hot. Miners margarita was tasty but sweet for my personal taste. Cheese bread is yummy. I could have bread, salad and a cocktail and be satisfied. Get the cheese bread!. Bartenders were great and friendly. There needs to be more food choices for happy hour. The bar area also needs to dress up the empty floor space. There are windows with beautiful views that you. Am sit and wait for your table or have a cocktail. The views are so pretty! I've been here many times and the food is typically pretty good. I got the fillet and prime rib. All entrées come with the soup and salad bar. I wish they had more options when it came to soup. They only had a few. I would definitely like to see more variety. They have a good size bar to have a cocktail while you wait to get sat. Definitely recommend requesting to sit by a window the views of the city are really pretty it's definitely perfect for celebrating something or going out with friends or date night. read more
