This place is great. The ice cream place is inside the same area, university heights location, you have to step outside, go around the corner to get to the ice cream. The people behind the counter were willing to assist and ask any questions needed. Don't know if there is a price difference in the pies here from the university height location. Don't know if it was almost the end of the day for but the display case seemed real bare. My wife is always excited if there is one around when we are in San Diego and is always wanting a pie so that's what we did. We ended up getting the classic chicken, the curry, and first time trying the butter chicken. Don't know why didn't not enjoy the butter chicken. I probably should've gotten my normal but wanted to try something different. Still good food and I actually like this location. Would love to come back with the family.

While I have only dined here for dessert so far, the Plant-based Roasted Veggies & Yellow Curry 5" pie is beyond aromatic! I love the variety of vegetables they selected for the pie. As for sweet, the Strawberry Rhubarb is divine! Perfectly sweet with a rich vegan butter crust. They will also feature a Blueberry pie as well which is equally as delicious! I always appreciate plant based options, especially when they are as good as they are Pop Pie!
I ordered a vegetable curry pie and a guava hand pie. Both were excellent. They have a large variety of delicious looking pies. Everything was so tempting. The worker was very nice.

This was a cute little shop that we stopped by after breakfast. They had all sorts of pastries along with what seems to be similar to hand pies with meat in it. Overall, what we ordered was delicious and we would go back again. The service was quick and pleasant.
I've been here twice now in two weeks and I have to say I really love the ambiance and quality of the food here. I've tried the chicken pie, sausage roll, HOG, and HBQ. The quality it is very consistent and you can tell they use fresh, quality ingredients. My first pie, the chicken, was so flaky, buttery, and tasty. And the sesame crust on the HBQ provides a nice earthy bite against the saltiness of the butter. One piece will run you about $10 but I would say it's worth it for the quality of these pies. I rarely go back to any place twice in one week. Very delicious! So far I think my favorite is the chicken and the HBQ. They also serve very delicious coffee. Mike made me a perfectly sweetened vanilla cinnamon latte.

Despite my concern, the filling was not overly sweet and the "all butter crust" was delicious, with delicate crunchiness! Another reviewer stated service is based on who is behind the counter; the person helping me wasn't very positive-&-friendly but appreciatively knowledgeable to answer my questions. I definitely want to return to Pop Pie to sample both their savory pies as well as other sweet and hand pies (and they feature Stella Jean's ice cream, of which I'm already a fan!); thankfully, there's one located closer to me.
I took my friend from Korea here so he could try American classic food like my grandma used to make. This place never disappoints and he absolutely loved it. The crusts are light, flaky and buttery. The quiche was fluffy and moist full of flavor. Mash and gravy with the skin in was so creamy and delicious. The staff here is very helpful and the place was so clean and spotless. Nice clean bathrooms too! I also haven't had ice cream bin 30 years (lactose intolerance) but I tasted the vegan egg nog...yummmm! I now can eat ice cream and have shakes again!

We ordered a cup of chai tea and a nice americano, plus a key lime pie. To be honestly, I didn't like it that much like before. I remember I really enjoyed their pies during pandemic and always ordered some delivery. But this key lime pie, I will say it's just a regular pie, I think the one we had at The Duke's is much more delicious. The drinks are also regular ones, nothing special to me.

Came here for the Stella Jean's ice cream. So good we came back a second time. Ube Pandesal Toffee was the winner for me, especially with the Banana Turon Crunch. Reminded me of my favorite Filipino treat, Halo-Halo. Hubby went with big with the Piescream on our second visit, we could've shared that one. There was a line both times we visited, but it moved relatively quick. With so many different flavors to choose from, everyone will want to sample before making their final decision. Can't blame them. There's some seating inside and more outside. If you grab a seat outside, the music coming from Mavericks across the way helps set the mood while you enjoy your treats. read more
Nice little spot shared with an ice cream shop. Limited menu but you get options of chicken, ground beef (Aussie limited time), green hog and cheese, roasted veggies and yellow curry amd butter chicken. Wife got the chicken with mashed potato - 4 stars I got the Aussie since it was limited time - 4 stars Vanilla Milkshake - 3 stars Then got a keylime pie to go. The outdoor seating is cool. People watch while enjoying your eats (if thats something you like). And I like. I wanna try the green hog next time. read more

Man I wish they had a Bay Area location...this place is so damn good. We went twice in our short SD trip. If you're a fan of pot pies, this place is for you. The PB location has lots of space inside and outside to enjoy and the service is great. I'd pass on their creamed corn, but I highly recommend trying their vegetarian pot pie, the guava cheese hand pie, and the salted caramel apple crumble piescream. Hopefully they open a location in the Bay Area! We can't wait to go back. read more
Pop Pie is the ultimate comfort food spot for me. I'll admit I visit the PB location for their pie-screams more than their savory pies- but everything is delicious. There are plenty of tables to enjoy it there, but the most of the menu is also really portable and easy to take to the beach or to throw in your backpack and take home. My favorite savory pies are the Aussie meat pie or the curry, but I don't think I've been disappointed in any of them. I don't love their egg/breakfast ones as much as their dinner ones, but I think that's more of a reflection of just HOW much I love their dinner ones. I also adore their corn and mashed potatoes - sometimes I'll order extra to have for a snack later. All the sweet pies have been great, they also usually have 2 rotating seasonal flavors that change like every 3-6 months. Anyways it's pie scream season -warm apple pie, caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream. Portable in a cup to enjoy by the beach. read more

Been wanting to try this place for awhile now and so glad we did! The pies and ice cream were delishhhh!!! Overall: 4.7/5 When: Thursday 1:00pm, 2 people Food: 4.7/5 - we got the chicken pot pie and blueberry yuzu slice of pie and added their ube ice cream to it. The pie had great, fresh filling and the crust was buttery and flaky. Yum! The pie was also delicious too- love the crumble on top. Lastly, we loooved the ube ice cream. Not too overly sweet :) Service: 4.7/5 - gal at the front counter was super nice and helpful and gave us her recs. Even let us try a few ice cream flavors out! Vibes: 4.7/5 - cute lunch spot right by the beach! Had a great outdoor patio that overlooks Garnet st so you can people watch. Plenty of seating inside and out. read more
This spot surprised me! I ordered the Steak & Ale pie and it was amazing! The crust was very buttery and flaky, and the filling was so tasty with the meat and mushrooms. I do wish there were more mushrooms but overall very solid spot! I wish I had a bigger appetite as I really wanted to try their sweet pies as well, but that just means another visit! I also loved they had Stella Jean's inside as well, so it was easy to get a sweet treat afterwards as well. read more
Today was a miss. We love trying newer spots, and today we Pop Pied it. The boss looked interesting which is their breakfast pop pie. Maybe I read the description wrong because we expected fluffy scrambled eggs, and it came with hard-boiled eggs. Scrambled eggs are better and keep everything together. It comes with maple syrup, which it needs, it's a bit dry. The topping is hash browns, and they were chewy and dry. Lastly, it wasn't served hot. Ok, the side kale salad was crunchy and a nice addition but overall today was a miss. I need to come back and try the traditional savory pie and maybe some ice cream. read more

What an adorable little shop in the middle of a very traffic-laden street. Parking is a bit tough but worth it. We went in search of yummy dessert and found it. This cute place had all of our favorite things like ice cream, hand pies, and cookies! We opted for the Lemon Curd and Mixed Berry Handpie and a Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie. Both were divine. The Handpie had a delicious thick lemon curd glaze that was out of this world. We had the cookie heated up and it was full of chocolate chunks and tasted so good. They had savory pies filled with meats or curry but we went straight for the sweets. It is really a great place with ample seating inside and out. I would uber if I could have! My goodness this place was unreal so good. The service was friendly and fast very informative and they did not steer us astray. We went with both sweet and savory very clean. Very nice. Locally located in PB with lots of parking in the back. Food was absolutely amazing. My wife and I went with the classic chicken pot pie and salted caramel apple crumble pie slice holy Jiminy crickets highly recommend!! The crust was nice and light and flaky inside was very delicious. The chicken was little dry for my taste, but the wife said it was OK but that salted Caramel apple crumble slice pie with a slice of heaven and the ice cream that goes with it is smooth and creamy you can't go wrong. We split those items so I wouldn't recommend eating this by yourself unless you wanna get diabetes run don't walk great place amazing and pretty decently priced too. read more

Service: four to five stars depending on who is behind the counter. Potpies - good variety of flavors, both traditional and fusion. The pastry is airy, buttery and light. They are delicious. Ice cream - to die for is the mango sticky rice. It's mango sorbet, sticky rice cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves. It is the perfect marriage. read more

Walked to Pop Pies since it in walking distance from our hotel. Ordered a couple of pot pies and they came out really quick. They were delicious and after we finished them we got some ice cream and that was delicious as well read more
Oh, this place is so good and so bad for your health because you will eat so much pie and so much ice cream and so much of everything they have. We got the Keylime pie and the Ube ice cream and my kids got the vanilla ice cream. Everything was just drool worthy and satisfying that you might throw discipline out the door. Service was quick and friendly, they let you try their ice cream flavors and if I may say it's worth trying everything. I didn't try the meat pies but the key lime pie was tarty and perfectly not too sweet. The crust was a bit tough but worth the fight to break it up. The shop had enough outdoor and indoor seating and water cups as a response to all the sugar you will consume. read more
Can't go wrong coming here and getting one of their delicious pies or cookies. They are very moist and soft as they are given to you at a good warm temperature. I'd give really 4.5 stars. I'm glad that this location opened up not too far from one of my work locations. I hadn't been to either of the other locations before, but I knew what it was. The pies are really good, definitely on the gourmet side. Much fancier than SD Chicken Pie Shop, lol. The flavor I was surprised by the most was the curried veggie pie! It was delicious, and you don't even miss the meat. The curry gives it tons of flavor. I ate half of the one I got and half of the potatoes, and ate the rest as leftovers for another meal. The chicken pie was also good, but I ended eating all of that as a dinner. It's traditional, in that it cones with the standard chicken pie veggies inside. I haven't tried the breakfast items, or the desserts. I'll have to try those sometime soon. read more

Lord. I'm still dreaming of the caramel apple pie and the guava hand pie. We were walking around and could smell Pop Pie before we even knew it was there lol The customer service was super friendly and helpful and everything was freshly coming out of the oven. They have sweet, savory, ice cream a little of everything. The caramel apple pie was full of apple and the crumble topping was amazing. The guava cream hand pie was a perfect treat to eat while walking around. Definitely an amazing spot and I wish they had one in AZ!! read more

Got the Aussie Meat & Steak-n-Ale. Soooo good! Perfect crispy, flaky crust. Filling was really tasty & stuffed pretty well. Just wish there were more veggies. Mashed was good & creamed had real cream. Tasty & great patio (good lighting & cool art). Noisy from club across the street. Very busy & active street. Parking is free for 2 hrs in slots 44-77 in parking behind building. read more
