If you can find parking here, more power to you. It's as tight as an elephant in a suitcase. But the burgers are pretty darned good. We stopped in following a Saturday youth soccer game and had to piss-ant our car into the tight parking area. Fortunately, someone had just left and they were cleaning our table as we walked through the rickety door. Service here is as nice as can be, and efficient on our visit. Kudos to this place for that. The food was served hot, fresh and fairly quickly, considering that perhaps only one person was working the grill. (The folks next to us weren't so happy. They were seated when we arrived and didn't get their food until we were halfway done.) The burgers? Good. Not fantastic. Certainly better than Fudrucker's and the like, but not crafted nearly as well as Stomp's or Burger Nation. I don't usually make comparisons in my reviews, and the reason here is because I don't think this is a destination burger joint like the other two places I mentioned. If I lived within a mile, I'd probably be the duke here. But, for my money, I'd rather drive a few minutes and eat something more memorable. By the way, despite what you read on Yelp or the business website, they do not serve beer. BYOB is fine though. read more

I came in for a quick burger for lunch and wasn't impressed. Yes, they are better than the fast food places; however, the bun was stale (at least it was properly toasted), extremely dry, which ruined it for me. The meat was very good, as was the cheese melted on top. I'm not really into all of the different varieties, just prefer their old fashioned (a regular cheeseburger with tomatoes, onions, pickles, lettuce mayo and mustard). It would have been very good if not for the old bun. The buns may very well be house-made; if so, they most likely do not have preservatives and what I had may have been a few days old. That's what it seemed like. It wasn't moldy, just as dry as the Sahara. Like this review, prices are fair and honest. A thing that irritated me was a sign reading "Please tip our wait staff and support local businesses." I find telling a paying customer (that is already supporting a local business by being there) how to behave, uncalled for. While I always tip (even with poor service, as most people do), I do not feel that a business has the right to suggest that a customer tips their waitstaff. Here's my sign for the owners: "If you want your waitstaff tipped, please train them better and they will not only be tipped more but may even receive larger tips" - or better yet, "Stop being so damned cheap and pay them more than minimum tip wages." That's their responsibility and they have no business tip shaming customers with signs. What restaurant does this? It's disrespectful to the customers....and about the service - I did not receive outstanding service. When I came in, I walked through the door and sat for about 5 minutes without being noticed (waitress was in the back and not on the floor). A customer should be acknowledged the minute they walk in the door. When my burger came out, it was delivered by another young lady - who threw the plate in front of me. I said, 'thank you,' to no reply. Rude. She walked promptly away, back to the kitchen, not asking if I need anything else (which I did - ketchup for the fries). Again, my waitress was in the back and not on the floor. I got up, went to an unbussed table (that mess was there the entire time) and retrieved the bottle of ketchup that was sitting on it. There should always be a person attentive to the customers' needs on the floor, at all times - even if there is only one table with customers. I still left a good tip, I attribute this behavior to bad training (and perhaps no management during the time I was there). That sign though is BS. I think the place would do better with just a simple counter service (like the Gyro Guys a few doors down). All in all, it wasn't a total disaster. If the bun was fresh and the service was better - this could have gone 4 stars. Hopefully, the owners have enough sense to read their customers' review and will take care of a few things, or at the very least, get rid of their absurd sign. read more

I was looking for a place to eat lunch in the Webster area, and I saw that this burger joint had stellar reviews. I decided to try it out, and I can see why people love this place. The burgers are really, really good! I got the popular Big Bubba burger. It came topped with their special sauce and a big onion ring. That was delicious too! The service was pretty good. I came during peak lunch time, but the place wasn't that busy. The waitress was very friendly and helped me pick out a burger that I would love. The establishment was nice and clean as well. Why 5 stars? Because what's not to love? --- --- --- A giant bowl of cheese with deep fried chips for dipping is apparently the key to my heart. If there had been nothing else redeeming about my visit here, the Chilada Dip would have been worth 5-stars alone. If you come here and don't order this, you are doing yourself even a massive disservice. DO THIS! We also enjoyed the popper topper cheese balls, which were solid, but were outshined by the amazing chilada dip. For my meal, I went with the Big Bubba burger, which was really great. It's got philly cheese steak mixed in with ground beef and a bunch of other typical toppings you'd find on a hearty burger. While all of the burgers looked very appealing, this was the one that jumped out at me the most, and I'm glad I ordered it. According to my mom and brother who live in the area, this building has apparently been the home of a lot of different businesses over the years, but we're hoping it remains Pop Top for a while! As we were checking out, my Mom realized that the owner's former business was the caterer of my brother's rehearsal dinner, several years ago. What a small world! I'll be rooting for the success of Pop Top and hope that they bring some continuity to this building. I got the Razz burger and hubby got the home style burger with bacon and shared a basket of tator tot and spicy thin cut onion rings. All was excellent! Waitress was attentive and place was clean. Restroom floor was sticky which was concerning and reason for a 4 star, not sure if floor just needs to replaced or need cleaned. There was soap and paper towels to wash hands and sink and toilet was clean. We will be back when in Webster again. read more

I'm giving this place a 3 out of 5 starts based on my own experience here at Pop Top burgers in Webster, Texas. Well where should I start. The establishment is a remodeled/refurbished home or previous business. It was obviously remodeled and is a Resturant now. I'm always looking for local businesses or "mom and pop" establishments. This was indeed one but my experience and rating is mostly negative because of the customer service. Our waiter (young man in his teens or low twenties I assume) was attentive at first but then steadily dropped off in his service to us. We were not given plates for our appetizer nor did we get silverware until we asked for the burgers. In fact, by the near end we were getting a little bit of attitude for simple things like refills. So onward to the food. We started off by getting the pickle Spears and the half fries and half fried onion rings. We ordered the "spicy" onion rings which were not really spicy. They were seasoned well and had a little kick. Not bad at all. The pickle Spears were okay not really outstanding by any means. IMO. The breading could of been better. Ranch was pretty standard issue. Nothing special about it that I could taste. The burger was a little on the smaller side but was tasty. We tried two different burgers (the breakfast burger I believe was the name) and the farmers burger (can't remember). The first burger was my personal favorite. It has saltiness from the hash browns but the juicy ness from the egg. The bread to meat ratio was about below average (in my opinion) . The overall size of the burger was a little on the smaller size. As you will see from the photos , there was more bread than meat. I didn't really taste a lot of the meat in some of these burgers because of the ingredients may be overpowering it. When we got our burgers I was a little surprised that it was a little more on the cold side. There was not a lot of people there and most people had already eaten. I would consider to go back but I may be hesitant and probably would not go out of my way to do so. As I mentioned above my experience would of probably been better if we didn't get the crummy customer service. I don't think we were asking for a whole lot. I do think that maybe this may be part of "growing pains" with a newer business and training of waitstaff. Maybe. I will say that if the place is not busy when you arrive you will hear everyone's conversation in the Resturant. My wife and I are members of an on-line neighborhood group that discusses "best burgers", "best seafood restaurant", or "best pastries" in the area we live in. We really enjoy the group and have noticed Pop Top Burgers comes up nearly every single time burgers are the topic. The strip mall location is not too close to us, so we made a special trip out there when we were shopping around lunch last week. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is clean and friendly on the inside. They have burgers prepared just about anyway you can imagine (if you read the menu below), and the service is fast and socialble. My wife really enjoyed her Turkey burger - much juicer than most, and I had the tried and true Cheeseburger which was delicious! The bun to meat ratio was perfect, bread fresh and tasty, burger was thick and juicy - cooked medium like I prefer for hamburger. Fries and onion rings were good, nothing special. I haven't had a burger in a long time and since we were in the area we decided to stop by here. I ordered the hash tag burger while my fiancé ordered the Philly cheesesteak. I absolutely loved my burger. I've always been a sucker for hash browns in a sandwich in general (it's the way I like to eat my breakfast sandwiches at work), but the sausage gravy that they put with the burger really pulls the whole thing together. I especially love how the patty itself isn't dry and seasoned well, and the buns are soft and fluffy but not falling apart. Very easy burger to cut in half with a plastic knife. I also like that they have an option of thin or thick sliced onion rings and an option for spicy or non spicy. I got the thin cut spicy onion rings which I enjoyed, and definitely plan on trying thick next time to see the difference and trust me there will be a next time. My fiancé also got a side of chili cheese tater tots which were solid. His Philly cheesesteak was okay, definitely not as good as my burger, and since I'm nice I let him have a few bites of mine. 40 bucks for 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 bottled cokes. Though I had one of their special burgers - razz burger - and it was good, spending $40 for 2 burger meals ( my husband had their regular cheeseburger) is not worth it. I also had called it in, my first time ordering from them. I didn't even think to ask about a combo because usually it's sort of a done deal when you order fries and a drink with your burger. When I got there I mentioned it to the lady about a combo - because I thought the cost was a higher than it should have been. She said that she couldn't change it now because the order had already been placed and made, but they do have a happy hour special from like 12-2 ( I called in the order at 1:50 and picked up the food at 2:10) for combo meals but I would have to tell her when I ordered the food. I let her know I had never ordered from here before. Nor was any happy hour combo special even mentioned when I called over the phone. I've eaten at several local establishments and was disappointed in the lack of customer service and in general any help from the employee. I've worked in customer service for years, next time maybe you should have the girl up front work on how to talk with customers instead of having an apathetic attitude toward working in a burger joint. Plenty of parking out front but this little gem had the best burgers in the area hands down!I had the old fashioned with cheese($7.25)it was amazing the bun was slightly buttered but the flavors of the meat and the ingredients makes you feel like like your at your parent house if they were chefs'! Came here for the first time because of the great reviews. We walked in and I like the small business feel to it. It's also it's own small building and I kinda like that too. But let me get down to flavors. I ordered the no bun burger. Hubby got the chili burger. Kids each got the corn dog kiddie meal. I also threw in the Mac n cheese ball appetizer. The burgers were on the salty side. Especially for the no bun burger where there's no bread to cut the saltiness, I would suggest they go easy on the salt. The cheese itself is also already salty. I asked my hubby how his chili burger was and he said it's also too salty for his liking. I tried the fries that came with the kids' meals and it's also heavily salted. Not sure if this is their standard of saltiness or if tonight just wasn't quite right (?). Anyway, we do like our server Cameron even though he's made some mistakes on our ticket. I didn't want to believe some of the reviews but the service and food have gone down hill. I know the original owners sold the business so it must be due to the new management.
