This Popeyes is super close off of Interstate 80 and across the street from the Vacaville Outlets. It's on Orange Drive. The building is tucked behind the gas station and not so easily seen from the street. The food is typical Popeyes. On my last visit, I ordered using the drive thru as I usually do at this Popeyes. With the freeway right next to the drive thru though, all that freeway traffic and volume of the cashier at a near whisper made it difficult to place my order. I ordered their new menu item of flavored wings. I wanted plain wings, no sauce. I was told that I had to pick a sauce. Also during this whole interaction, the volume of the cashier was still barely audible. So it had to ask her to repeat herself several times. I picked a sauce flavor, garlic parmesan. The sauce was wet and sticky. I tried my best to dab off the sauce with paper napkins. It didn't taste like garlic or parmesan. I wasn't particularly digging the sauce. Initially I ordered two of the same apple pie, but kindly asked at the window if they could switch one of them to strawberry creme. Instead a man who was clearly the manager and has no idea what customer service means and how to handle requests. He responded with attitude and said " Really? On occasion like our last visit the chicken doesn't have the spicy flavor - as if they forgot to add the seasoning. I waited for them special made to assure they were hot and fresh. This Popeyes location is never know for its service, but known to get your order wrong or have missing items. Well this visit was no different than my previous visits. I have not been to this Popeyes for quite some time because I can't stand the bad, slow service or having to come back to the restaurant because I am missing something on my takeout order. I came here to grab some dinner since I was in the area and since I haven't been here in a while, I was hopeful things would be different. The ordering on the App was easy. The order was completed on time. I arrived a few minutes before the complete time and checked in with a cashier and was told that they are working on my order. I can here someone say to make sure there are 2 coleslaws for my order. When I got my order I was just going to drive home, but remembered the last time I got takeout here, I drove home without checking my order and ended up having to drive all the way back to get my missing item. I told my wife to check the order and lo and behold we were missing the 2nd coleslaw even those someone had mentioned to make sure there was 2 coleslaws. They were not busy that day and had plenty of workers, so I am not sure how they can screw up my order. When I walked back in, I stood at the counter waiting for a couple minutes before someone finally noticed there was a customer standing at the counter (someone was on their cell phone, lots of chit chat conversations, but no one manning the counter. I was given the missing coleslaw right away when I mentioned the missing item. I have never "not" had a problem at this location. This time I was charged for the extra gravy, only .35 cents, but it's the principle; I don't use the packaged dips, so why oh why should I have to pay additional for a tablespoon of gravy? This was the first time I've been completely disappointed with the product from the store. The chicken was barely warm. Certainly not up to health code. Same for the beans and rice. The beans were tepid. The coleslaw was room temperature. It was as if the store had lost power hours before my arrival and there was no way to keep the food hot or cold. What better way to celebrate New Year than Popeyes. It's only right. I actually haven't had Popeyes in 4 years, this is going to be my first time since then. It makes me feel like I deserve this Fried Chicken, after a long break. Everybody knows the Fried Chicken is very good, but the Biscuit can never beat Church's Texas Chicken. And what I like about this place, is that they got one of my favorite Sauces, the Mardi Gras Mustard Sauce. The Fried Chicken was like how I remembered it. Crunchy, moist, flavorful, and I can really taste all the Spices in the batter and breading. I haven't had the Cajun Fries here for a long time, I forgot how it taste. When I opened up the box, it looked like the Fries needed some color. But I was wrong, it was cooked just right, not soggy at all, and these Fries are above average. LOn the same day I learned how to do Clay Pottery for art, I learned how to bake my first Biscuit. And I can never describe how good my first Biscuit I made was, it was that good. The Biscuits here wasn't too bad, it was basted and brushed with plenty of Butter. So the Biscuits turned out extra Buttery. It doesn't have any Honey baked into it, it might need some Honey or Jam. It won some points for how good the Fried Chicken is. I was thinking this was going to be a flat 4 stars, but I give this 4.1 stars. Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has very good fried chicken compared to all the fast-food chains. So when I see this Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Vacaville in my shopping day lunchtime. I decided to give them a try. But the only option is ordering to-go due to the California lockdown. I use the drive-thru window for my order. The line is moving very fast and the speaker is loud and clear. The menu at the drive-thru is easy the read and understand. We have our order ready right after they took our order. We just found a parking space at the parking lot and eat the yummy chickens in our car. The box Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen uses for the to-go order is very easy for us to enjoy our meals. The chickens are very fresh, very crispy, and juices inside. The parking lot is clean and safe. But the garbage cans in front of the restaurant are all full.
