I think Poppie's pastas are amazing, but I would recommend staying away from the bolognese and beef shin ragu. You are better off with Rao bolognese. However, I have also tried the garlic/miso and lemon chive; I really like the garlic/miso, and the lemon chive is also nice (but not great). Their prices are good, and I think it is a very worthwhile establishment. However, I don't find it to be fabulous, as other reviewers do. It has a nice variety to choose from, but IMO, don't expect to be wowed. read more

The parking lot was a little difficult to navigate around. It's a small lot and there were cars in and out. Theres limited spots in the front. Inside is a cute spot. Was greeted right when we walked in. There were 2 tables available inside if you choose to dine in. All the fresh pasta are out on display to choose from. They have a big board with their menu of the different pastas to choose from & sauces. You also have the option to choose different sauces to take home and purchase fresh pasta to cook at home as well. I went with the mafaldine pasta with vodka sauce. It was cooked well and the sauce really grasped onto the pasta which was good. The ruffled edges of the pasta I felt was what held onto the sauce better. Protein is available if you wish to add it. A good pasta option if you're looking for something fresh and don't have the time/energy to make it homemade. The location is kind of difficult to get in and out of. Even though they have a parking lot, it's usually full and takes a bit to get a spot. On weekends at least. There's 2 small tables inside that can fit 2 people each. This is mostly a grab n take it home to eat type of place. Service was quick. It took about 5 minutes for my food to be ready. I tried the agnolotti with bolognese sauce. It was OK. I think my combo was off, the sauce didn't take to the noodles well, but the sauce itself was flavorful. I also had a few bites of the ravioli with the roasted tomato and garlic sauce. I preferred this combo vs what I got for myself. Next I had the trio gnocchi. All the sauces are very good. I enjoyed the pesto basil 1 the most out of the 3 options. I finally got a chance to come here. Parking can be a bit tight depending on the time you come. I read some of the 1-2 star reviews. People giving 1-2 stars just because they don't have a phone number or lack of tables are asinine and moot. It's like me going to a McDonald's and giving them a 1 star just because they don't have white cloth tables. Sounds silly? Yep, that's because it is. Yes, they do have two high top tables. This is mostly a grab and go. People that walk in, should be able to discern that since it's not a full size restaurant. Service was very friendly and helpful. Prices were on the low end. It's freshly made pasta, if people want cheaper they can go to a grocery store. We ordered the gnocchi trio and lasagna verde alla bolognese. We also bought agnolotti, caramelle, mafaldine, radiatori, basil pesto, and roasted garlic & miso. Overall, it's 4 out of 5 from the hot food in person. -gnocchi trio 4.5 - you get three different sauces with the gnocchi. The sauces are vodka, basil pesto, and four cheese. The gnocchi was firm, not hard. The sauces were all good but they could be a bit more robust. I want the sauces to leave a stronger impression. The quantity itself was very filling. -lasagna verde alla bolognese 2.5 - It looked completely different from the picture. The sauce and bolognese were good but it did not resemble lasagna. The pasta sheet could have been firmer. On its own, it's not filling. There was way more sauce to pasta sheet ratio. It's not bad but the presentation could have been cleaner. read more

What a cute place! The pastas are so tender and filling. We each had a great different favorite from the trio but overall the consensus was Diavolo and Vodka were the stars of the show. With the malfaldine, we got breaded chicken added and it was perfectly crispy and flavorful. Definitely would be amazing in a sandwich! We chose to mix two sauces for the malfaldine (Diavolo and garlic/miso) and the combo is a both sweet, spicy, umami, yum! Currently, due to my broken pelvis, I have come to realize that they offer zero seating for disabled customers, and you actually want to eat off of your lap. They offer only two high-top tables for dine-in, why not have them at a height that everyone can eat from. Fortunately, my wheelchair situation is temporary. For many, it is not - and I cannot imagine a permanent future of that. So although I gave it 5 stars based on my previous experience, I am doing my best at the moment not to drop it to a one. It's like no one's ever had good Italian food before...Came for the stuffed blossoms that they have been advertising like crazy and of course there was no shipment in, wanted to try the chicken parm sandwich but they don't offer bread other than the focaccia (which I don't care for), so I went with some pasta and sauce to go. Their concept is to make fresh pasta and sauces that one can come in to buy and take home to cook OR have them cook in store for you to enjoy on the spot. Their products are available on a first come, first serve basis and have sold out quite often since opening. They have (2) two-top tables for guests to eat at if you plan to enjoy there. This visit, my husband and I ordered their Gnocchi Trio, Lasagna, and Specialty Focaccia Bread. The Gnocchi Trio comes with vodka, alfredo, and basil pesto sauces to show like the Italian flag. I enjoyed the alfredo and basil pesto a bit more than the vodka sauce but all were delicious and topped with fresh parmesan. The Lasagna had layers of cheese and meat sauce between the fresh noodles. I enjoyed dipping my bread into the red meat sauce! The pricing overall seemed very fair. All the noodles were as fresh tasting as you'd want them to be and were perfectly cooked al dente. They have a wide variety of different pasta and pasta dishes with so many different sauce options to choose from! I ordered the gnocchi trio and I am obsessed! The pasta was super fresh and doughy! Each sauce was insanely tasty- the three sauces in this special are pesto, vodka, and four cheese. Sooo delicious! They sell the sauces and I wish I remembered to buy them on our way out. This is exactly the type of place you want to see survive and thrive! Cute little spot in a small strip center. It's a small counter with a table or two and refrigerator. I had a pickup order and a dad and 2 kids were eating in and that's about all the space there is. I got the agnalotti with vodka and cheese sauce and then the gnocchi trio and an order of the caramelle pasta to go a one of the creamy pesto sauces to go. I wish the creamy pesto was heavier on pesto but it's delicious. The agnalotti is larger than I'm used to but still good. Gnocchi trio is a great way to taste different sauces (this is straight pesto not the creamy one) it is a bit light on the sauce though. They were pretty dry. I just air fried the leftover gnocchi and heated up the creamy pesto as a dip and it's fabulous. Definitely great if you're having people over for dinner and want to step up your meal with fresh pasta. I got the crispy chicken too and it was much better than I expected! Always looking for authentic, GOOD homemade pasta I was THRILLED to find this tiny treasure tucked away in a Villa Park strip mall. Purchased the Lamb Ragu and some Agnolotti to cook at home. I added nothing but some fresh chopped parsley and shaved parmesan and my first bite had me flashing back to when I was 5 years old eating in my Sicilian Grandmothers kitchen. So FRESH, so FLAVORFUL, so LIGHT! The young lady behind the counter was friendly and informative, welcoming every new customer that walked through the door.
