I came back to review them again because i miss them I got relocated back to my home division in Carson for work. This place was a 10/10 satisfaction for me. I usually enjoyed my work week Friday (mondays) here. Blueberry french toast, veggies, and egg as my protein? Come onnnn. It does not get any better than that. I love sitting outside. All the parties Ive had to privilege to sit next to have been dope. I've already reviewed them but had to come back and show them love. They don't really put much into making the plates look aesthetic, lol, but like I said, they did the job! It's very upbeat and social, so I wouldn't come if you're looking for quiet or to study. It tasted mainly like milk and pistachio syrup with a hint of matcha. I would skip on ordering that. The usual breakfast combo was decent! The eggs and sausage were yummy! Potatoes were somewhat crispy as well. The waffle was mediocre. It was too batter heavy and tasted more like a pancake than a waffle. Would skip on the waffle and order a pancake instead. Service was excellent. The servers were attentive and met our requests quickly. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated outdoors and there were plenty of umbrellas that provided shade. As several others have mentioned, parking is tricky. My friend recommended it so We came here on a Sunday morning it and it was packed with a long line, but they were moving pretty quick so we only waited about 15 minutes for a table for 3. Customer service is incredible here, they're so nice and helpful. The seatings are outside, and there's a bathroom for customers inside. Parking can be hard since it's metered, but I was able to get one in the residential area to the right of the restaurant if facing it. The food itself was a good 3.5/5 overall, not anything amazing or something I'd come back for in my opinion. My blueberry matcha tasted like a blue raspberry jolly rancher but the pistachio matcha was good. I thought the chilaquiles Benedict was lacking flavor despite all the sauce. I stopped by Millie's on a Sunday around 9:30am and it was jam packed. I was, however, able to be seated after waiting about five minutes. I ordered the usually breakfast with chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs, and potato's, as well as an iced pistachio latte. The mate was ok, but I didn't really taste any pistachio flavor. The chocolate chip pancakes were soft and chocolaty. I loved the bacon and the potato's, even though I wish there was more than two pieces of bacon. Portion wise, the meal was large, although I'm not sure it's $21 dollars worthy. The service was good and the food came out fast. The waiter was very attentive and checked in often, which I appreciated. read more

TLDR: Overpriced for the quality of food and how cramped the seating is but nice outdoor seating and nostalgic staple location if that's your priority. I've been to Millie's a few times over the years and always had a good enough experience to want to come back. Unfortunately, this visit just wasn't the same. We came in early when it wasn't too crowded and there were plenty of open tables. I ordered a coffee, and my friend ordered a hot chocolate (with food). The coffee eventually came, but the hot chocolate was forgotten. I mentioned it to our server, and she apologized, saying she'd bring it out. Our food came, but still no hot chocolate. An older gentleman, who I think might be the owner, stopped by to check in, and I mentioned it to him as well. He apologized and said he'd get it handled, but it still never came. By the time we finished eating, the original waitress checked in again, and I pointed out that we still didn't have it. At that point, we didn't even want it anymore. Service felt dry, somewhat attentive, but not very effective if we had to repeat the same request multiple times with no actual resolution. To top it off, the bill originally listed two coffees instead of one coffee and one hot chocolate, though they crossed out the second coffee afterwards. Not a huge deal, but just kinda meh when I was hoping to relive a fond memory here and introduce new people to this spot. The atmosphere now seems geared toward a different crowd, which isn't really my style, but that's fine (not something that I factored into my rating just an observation for y'all). Between the "just okay" food and the lack of attentiveness, I probably wouldn't return. That said, it's a cool spot if you're more interested in outdoor seating and catching up with friends rather than coming for the food or service. read more

First time here! It gets packed QUICK! We came here a hour after they were open & it was already almost full , with a line building. It took us about 5 min to be seated, the table set ups outside are rather close to the next table but get comfy because that's how it is. The service was quick & efficient, we did have to wave down a few people to get drinking water cups & silverware, but I give them grace, they are a popular breakfast spot especially since blowing up n tik tok recently. Silverlake is a trendy hipster area, so I love the atmosphere of dining outside, seeing people interstate with eachother of all kinds & people have their pups with them I just love the vibe. The drinks were delicious, I'm posting this about 2 months later so I forgot the names of the drinks & food but I know I got the Benedict which is my go to. I removed a star because they only serve has browns until 11am and only certain days of the week which was odd? I'm not a fan of breakfast potatoes, I love me some hash browns so I'll have to catch them on a day they're serving them. PARKING is also part of removal of star, it's not easy to get to, I had to look for 30 min for parking space, that's also just silverlake so be prepared for neighborhood street parking, meters, or like I had to.., $20 to park. What happened Millie's ? I'm an OG Silverlaker since '93, remembering giant pile of potatoes in back of griddle. That was the only tasty part of breakfast today. SADLY, my huevos mexicana were bland. The green peppers? Tasteless. And tomatoes ? Tasteless. Not one sliver of jalapeño though I asked for it to come "spicy". I hope my nephew's dish (huevos rancheros) was good. It was his bday and I thought I'd treat him to neighborhood institution. The service was indifferent and not at all human; I felt like a widget on an assembly line .* We came early Sunday (8:30a) to avoid the typically long lines. By 9:30a, they were pushing us out. I get it. It's a restaurant not a library. Last thing, there is a strong odor that wafts over the tables. Cleaning fluid. Whew. Really messes with the whole experience. I appreciate them keeping things clean, but please use a low fragrance solution, friends. $70 breakfast for 2 ppl?? Let that sink in. They didn't deserve a 20% tip, but I respect ppl who work on their feet all day. *the coffee guys were on their job! Hot, timely refills greatly appreciated. For a Tuesday morning there was no wait, but definitely a handful of hungry customers enjoying their meals with their outside seating. Upon arrival, I was a bit confused on if I seat myself or approach a staff member (the staff seem to be roaming around and busy). I decided to walk in and just sat down since it was just me. The staff was quick to bring me a menu and water. I already had an idea of what I wanted to order so that was pretty quick. I didn't give any beverages a chance since I was planning on visiting a nearby business. What I ordered: Chocolate chip pancake combo with two scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and bacon (3.5/5) - this meal is $21.99 before tax. To me, that's a bit on the pricier side for a breakfast combo like this, but the portion size and quality might justify it to certain people. The bacon was cooked just right as it wasn't burnt nor too soft/chewy. The hash browns were lightly seasoned and a bit cold (The other option you have are the herb roasted potatoes). Look at those pancakes! 2 come in this combo stack. Cooked to a golden brown and the chocolate chips aren't too clustered. Soft on the inside, but a little dry. The syrup helped. Not too sweet, which is my preference. I wasn't able to finish so I asked for a to go box. When I reheated them later, they were still just as good. The main reason I am not rating this meal higher is because nothing really stood out to me. Sure, it was good but it didn't live up to the hype ... personally. I've had softer and tastier pancakes for a similar price (for example, CiCi's cafe). For this being a diner type of vibe, I think it's pretty average yet priced a little high. In addition, the staff is very on-go. They did check up on me, but I don't picture this to be the type of place you go to if you want attentive service. The inside seating is very small, but outside is basically the sidewalk.. so up to your preference. It doesn't bother me as much since I came alone, but just something for you to consider. Food: My omelette wasn't actually an omelette. I think they use less eggs to save money which in turn make it so the bottom part of the omelette doesn't have eggs only a layer of eggs on top. Too expensive for what it is. Coffee: I ordered a flat white, got a latte, I understand that this isn't a specialty coffee spot but It would've been a a nice addition if it was good. Service: Their main goal is to get you in and out as quick as humanely possible. Check was given before even halfway done eating. Asking if I need a box while my fork is still in hand. I don't need amazing service, I understand it's a diner but at least let the guests finish their food without feeling rushed and they have to take the food home to finish eating. Ambiance Music was bad for conversation. You also have a line of people watching and waiting for you to finish if that bothers you. Overall Don't waste your time or money here. I would not come back.
