Ordered Scarprella, ton of tortellini($3 upcharge), very small thin chicken piece little dry, could improve lemon wine sauce and add more of it based on amount of pasta/veggies. Unique combo of artichoke/peppers/mushrooms/sliced sausage/olives/onions. Tiramisu seems to keep shrinking, but always good. Wish they would bring back fresh grated cheese, and have cheese/crushed pepper at tables. Appreciate the patio, can be chilly inside. read more

Poppys Italiano is one of our favorite lunch restaurants. Since we are retired we now eat a large lunch (what some would consider dinner) As soon as Poppys opened for lunch we started going there. We ususally get the early bird special which consists of bread, choice of drink, soup or salad and your entree. Everything we ever ordered has been delicious and many times I have to take some home. It is so delicious I absolutely want to finish it, so taking it home is the way to go. We have always had excellent service, the price is very good and there is adequate parking. Highly recommend Poppys for their food. My favorite is the chicken parm and my husband has tried every veal dish they make and he loves them all, he can't say one is better than the other when the prepration is always perfect. read more

The restaurant definitelly serves great food and has a great atmosphere, however, they only honor what is clearly in writing on their menu only when it suits them. In this visit, the menu states you receive a free glass of wine. My daughter attempted to order a glass and was told that it didn't apply on that day, even though no restrictions are stated on the menu and there was no reason for it to not be available on the day we went. We had 3 adults and 1 toddler in our LUNCH party. My wife and I ordered the Baked Manicotti, I don't recall what my daughter ordered, but my grandson had the child's spaghetti with ONE meatball. I had water to drink, my wife had diet soda, and my grandson had water. I believe my daughter had a VERY SMALL glass of Pinot. Out bill came to over $100.00 for LUNCH!!! I can't imagine what the prices would have been for dinner. After the tip, our total was somewhere around $140.00. Outrageously expensive and they do not follow what is clearly written on the menu. That will be our last visit to this particular restaurant. read more

The place gets crowded, some tables are simply to close to others to enjoy a quiet meal but the service and food was great!

Always the best food! A little pricey compared to other Italian restaurants in the area but it is so worth it. Serving size can be good for 2 but if you don't want to share, you will definitely have left overs for the next day. Always leave room for dessert. If you come for dinner after 7:30 pm, possibly no wait time or less. Hope you enjoy the food just as our family do since we moved here to Florida. read more

We had high expectations of Poppy's as our friends have RAVED about it. We sat at the bar (which the bar is too small in my opinion, only 4 seats), they have no happy hour or drink specials ever..which is something I really wish they offered as their drink prices are very expensive compared to their competition on 210. I had a martini and my husband had a glass of Chianti. We ordered a bruschetta app, which was very good, and our entrees (forgot to take pictures) were just okay. I've def had better Italian; and I guess in my mind I had higher expectations of this place. The prices for their dinners are also quite expensive in comparison to their competitors. I'm glad we tried it out, but we can order the same drinks and get the same delicious meals across the street at Al Dentes and our bill is half the price. read more

went to Poppys last night ,average traffic for a Saturday night , Sat outside on the patio . food was mediocre but more importantly thee waitress was horrific girls with shaved sides on her head . I wasn't even done with my salad and my entree arrived and as soon as we were done she asked if wee wanted desert when we replied no she shoved the check in our face . we were a party of three couples and were still talking . never offered any additional water . Absolute worst service ever !!. Waitress might want to take up truck driving as that she wont have to talk to anyone ,ill never go there again . read more

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this review. I wanted to love Poppy's. It is close to my house, and I love Italian food. We went this past Saturday and sat outside. We were seated around 505 (per text from restaurant). I liked the outdoor space. My fiancé ordered a specialty drink and I ordered wine. We then placed dinner orders at 518PM both ordered from the early bird menu. Immediately after we ordered my fiancé got up to change our baby and I texted my mom that we got a seat at Poppy's without waiting and was super happy about it. Fast forward to 545 when the waiter comes back, and we ask about the wine that comes with out meals. I was not the biggest fan of the malbec on the menu. The waiter said we ordered at 532 and the system shuts them out completely after 530. We looked puzzled at him and then he goes on to say my wine is not on the early bird menu... which is not what I wanted/ asked for. Yes, we could and should have pushed back, did we want to throw the waiter under the bus? No. Did we really want to talk through everything with a manager that may or may not have honored it. IT cost us ~$25 for not pushing back. Still tipped 18% even though the service was a pinch slower than I would like but it was busy. I felt the mozzarella stick appetizer/ sauce was bland. I ordered the meat ravioli, and it was ok but still bland. My fiancé ordered spaghetti and meatballs with sausage. The meatball was ok. We both got the Fagioli soup and thought it was ok. Maybe our biggest issue is the red sauce, and I should have ordered something else. Maybe we should have pushed more on the early bird meal, but overall super underwhelmed. Maybe I was expecting too much. Unsure of what happened but not happy spending $125 with tip for two bland dinners, one appetizer, and 4 drinks total (when I should have gotten 2 glasses of wine (house wine) for free. One thing I am super happy about was that there were changing rooms so that my finance (male) could change baby girl. That was VERY appreciated. My fiancé loved his cocktail. Went last night and thoroughly enjoyed my meal! My friends really enjoyed theirs as well. We started off with a caprese appetizer which was fresh and delicious! I got the shrimp Aglia and Olio appetizer as my meal and it was garlicky and fantastic. My friends ordered Chicken Milanese which they split and enjoyed. The atmosphere is lively and warm. It is small inside and the tables are very close together. There is a nice size patio for outside dining though. With your entree you have a choice of two different salads or soup. I don't recommend the house salad dressing. It is very oily and not much flavor. I would choose ranch or blue cheese next time. The garlic bread is kinda triangle shaped and is very thick. It could use some more garlic butter as well. My main course was baked rigatoni and the portion was large and had enough sauce, but the sauce was very bland. My husband did like the salad and garlic bread. He ordered the pasta combo entree which had ravioli, lasagna, cannelloni, and baked rigatoni. It was a lot of food but he thought all the selections were good. I will go back and try some of the other entrees and a different salad. read more

I had the early bird special which allows you to have an original menu item at a discounted pricing. My food arrived hot and fresh within minutes of being put in. I ordered the "build your own pasta" with angel hair, marinara sauce, and added meatballs. My dinner came with the choice of either house Caesar salad, or two soup selects, garlic or plain bread and a house wine or pour of the selected wines provided in the early bird special. Oh ,started with the Greek salad which was surprisingly good since it's an Italian restaurant I believe the owners are Greek . My friend had shrimp scampi and he enjoyed it . Then after arriving at the intended location and realizing my mistake, the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating despite being very busy. Then everything remained a wonderful experience from the waiter to the food quality to the portion size all the way to the price point. Great food at a fair price. As a follow up to my review. We went for an Early Bird. My friend and I had Chicken Picatta with artichoke. The sauce was out of this world good over linguine. The chicken was cool not warm, and the Artichoke was Ice box cold. This was for both plates. The obvious thing would have been to send them back. I just don't. Service was fantastic, Other dishes were Veal Picatta, and baked Ravioli and were reported to be excellent. Great place! Not a great Early Bird. read more

I really enjoyed Poppy's! The outdoor seating section was very nice. I had the espresso martini drink, it was very, very good. Also had the fried green tomatoes. It was a really interesting take on it, I highly recommend. But I would say it's very heavily breaded. Sun-dried tomatoes and garlic on top were a nice touch. Then I had the grouper w/pasta. SO tasty. Ordered a cabernet sauvignon to go with it and that was very good as well. Really friendly waiter. Would go again! read more

Went in a weeknight with our son. Food was decent, service was as expected for the cost. However they applied a credit card processing fee before I even said how I would be paying. When I asked them to remove the fee, they made us speak with a manager who said they would remove it but then proceeded to only remove ~75% of the fee as a credit to the check. Very uncomfortable situation and we would not return, plenty of other Italian options around. read more
