Fantastic lunch at this family owned and operated business in NW St John's County. The specials are great and the service matched it. We enjoyed a Basil Parmesan Crusted Chicken Sandwich and upgraded to a side salad from fries and an Eggplant Parmesan sandwich with fries. Sandwiches were so very tasty and cooked perfectly and the both the salad and fries were crispy and fresh! They are so accommodating with requests and I am looking forward to trying more things on the lunch menu soon! Open at noon.

First time at Poppy's. It was a busy Friday night but we found a spot at the bar to eat dinner! Phil was our bartender and he has a big, bright personality and he doesn't let the dinner rush frazzle him. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very popular. So much so that they really need a bigger place - one with a much larger bar area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My Penne Caprese was very good with a delicious pesto sauce. The portion was huge. The garlic bread comes just the way I love- drenched in garlic and oil! Nice size rolls. The side of meatballs was the star. Four large balls with a nice mild meat flavor in a really good tomato sauce. The portions here are large and the prices much lower than you'd expect. A nice surprise! This is a popular place so get there early.

OMG! So much yummy delicious servings of Italian goodness - The Penne Caprese was my favorite. The lasagna was yummy too and went well with the bread and soup. Still was able to order chocolate cake for desert and no we were not able to finish the rest of the pasta-that was lunch the next day lol [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is great for a dinner date or just having quality time, eating comida italiana con la familia.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was awesome, friendly staff and the place is very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will definitely recommend Poppy's Italiano and will try the Ponte Vendra location next time :)

This was awesome. Everything was just right. I suppose I sound like Goldilocks, but it was great. I usually frequent the "chain" Italian restaurants-but not anymore. They definitely have a new addition to the family. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Food, Service, and Ambience were splendid.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Try it- if you love Italian cuisine-you will love Poppy's.

    Delicious Lemoncello cake.

Food and service were spot on as usual. We always enjoy eating here. The menu is broad and dishes well prepared. The wait staff are always friendly and enjoy their work. Food is delicious, plentiful and well presented. The garlic bread is fantastic.

Wish I can rate this place 10 stars. Phenomenal service! Amazing food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Went on a Sunday evening with my friend. She heard of this place from clients raving about the restaurant and I drove past the Ponte Vedra location a few times. We decided to try it out for dinner. They serve you bread, choice of salad or soup and entree. I ordered the Baked Ziti as that is my go to at any Italian restaurant. I paired that with a Caesar salad. For appetizer I got the Bruschetta. I also ordered their Italian 76 cocktail. My friend ordered the Mozzarella Sticks appetizer and Chicken Parmigiana dinner. Food was delicious and served huge portions. I took the remainder of my meal to go and it tasted even better the next day. This is definitely a restaurant that I will take anyone who is visiting from out of town. Superb!!!

We went at around 2pm on a Thursday...the service was a bit slow but I think they were understaffed. It took awhile to seat us but the hostess was really hustling to try to make it happen. We started with the garlic bread, super garlicky, hot and fresh - delicious. Then I got a tossed salad with bleu cheese dressing, nice crisp lettuce, good salad. And then the burger. Disappointing. The meat was super dense and the flavor was funky, not in the good way. Here's the thing, I'm guessing I shouldn't order a burger in an Italian joint. I will definitely give Poppys another go but this wasn't the best first impression.

Would come back!!! Pasta and garlic bread was excellent. Calamari antipasti was excellent. Cocojito was also really great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was honestly nothing wrong with this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only thing is that I wish there were white sauce/cream dishes? Maybe I overlooked the menu and didnt see more but I only noted 2? 3? Anyway, other than that the [[HIGHLIGHT]]overall service and ambiance was great too and my people enjoyed it as much as I did:)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, if you go during a certain time each day, there lunch specials make the dish worth it even more!!!

Bruschetta, was weird. Was on sliced ciabatta rolls. Tasted good, difficult to eat.
    Dana J.

Loads of garlic!! The garlic bread came out lots of raw garlic on it, making it unenjoyable to eat. The food looked pretty but the sauce had big chunks of garlic too. I'm Italian, I love garlic but this all combined was just too much. The hostess was pleasant, baby wearing her child. The server was nice and attentive. I wouldn't be back but it was worth a try (decent pricing and lots to choose from). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did enjoy the dining room, the windows were tinted and the shades drawn.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Early bird veal parm
    Kate D.

Amazing early bird special! From 330 to 5:30 you can get a variety of dishes, including that include a soup or a salad, garlic bread, and a glass of wine ranging from $17 (pasta)-$29 (veal parm) The veal Parm was delicious, as was the chocolate martini, and the service was excellent

    Nikki S.

our second time here, our server last night was really sweet and decently attentive. We had the lemon chicken soup that was incredible. We had a fettuccine Alfredo and a chicken Parm entrée, the fettuccine was a little bit bland and the marinara and the chicken Parm was extremely chunky with whole pieces of garlic and onion which was a little frustrating but the flavor overall was really good. The chicken was cooked perfect and I was able to cut it with a fork. We will be back!

    Baked Cannelloni
    Mindy P.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice cozy ambiance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They serve complimentary garlic bread with your meal which is fantastic: thick homemade focaccia dripping in olive oil, fresh garlic, & seasonings. Utterly delicious!! I had baked cannelloni pasta which was also very yummy. The sauce was aromatic & perfectly seasoned & the pasta was all homemade. Our table also had cheese tortellini and fettuccine alfredo dishes. All the pasta was homemade and had the perfect consistency and texture! The Alfredo sauce was amazing as well, the perfect richness of cheesyness. Very impressed with the main dishes. I chose the Italian wedding soup to start, but wasnt a fan. The broth was good, but not much in the soup & the small meatballs were too soft. House salad is basic. Caesar salad has nice dressing. We also got a piece of crème brûlée cheesecake to go. Felt frustrated they charged $15 for a tiny piece of cheesecake that wasn't special, so not the best way to end. Overall a really nice meal. They serve their water in glass bottles which is a fun fancy detail. The main dishes and bread were the stars of the meal. I would go back to try more of their pasta dishes and their decadent bread!

The interior wasn't my favorite; the aesthetic didn't really read as Italian to me and leaned more modern. The tables and seating felt a bit on the cheaper side. We went on a Friday around 7:30 pm, and it was surprisingly quiet inside. Drinks: I ordered a sangria, which wasn't my favorite. It tasted on the weaker side. Food: I ordered the gnocchi. It was a bit rubbery and not as soft or potato-forward as I prefer. It reminded me more of store-bought gnocchi than homemade. That said, the portion size felt fair for the price. Location: The restaurant is located on the St. Augustine Beach barrier island, which is convenient if you're staying nearby and don't want to head into historic downtown for dinner. It was in a slightly odd spot within a business complex, with condos located above. Service: Good. Overall: It's fine for convenience, but not a place I'd suggest to someone visiting St. Augustine and looking for standout dinner spots.

Today I attended a group lunch with a total of twelve people. The restaurant is spacious and has an upscale beachy feel to it. There was a set menu so our choices were a rigatoni pasta dish with grilled chicken, broccoli and tomatoes in a creamy sauce or salmon and salad. I opted for the rigatoni dish and it was tasty. The portion size was also nice. The salmon dish ordered by half of the other members of my group also looked good and most people seemed to like it. I would definitely return for dinner some day to experience the entire menu.

This restaurant is one of our "go to" for a real authentic Italian meal…read more We brought some family that was visiting during the week and everyone was very satisfied with their meals. The only complaint was that the dishes with vodka sauce had way too much sauce on the plate. My sister-in-law can't eat gluten any more as of last year, so she had bolognese with gluten free pasta (she said it was good but not great) but she said that is because she misses her regular pasta, so no pasta will ever be great again for her. My Niece had pasta with vodka sauce, there was way too much sauce on the plate but it was very good. My Nephew had chicken parm with vodka sauce and he loved it, again a little too much sauce on the plate though. I always get the same thing, escarole and beans with grilled chicken over pasta. This time it was a bit spicy for some reason, so I didn't love it as much as usual, but it was still very good and something you just can't find in this area. Dessert was cannolis and home made cheese cake. The owner makes the cakes here and they are all very good. Service was very attentive and good. P.S. their bread with whipped butter is excellent!

The restaurant is adorable, featuring memorabilia from the family's original restaurant and family photographs. Our server was excellent. I started by treating myself to a lovely bottle of wine. Sometimes dry rosé is a bit hard to find, but the Fuedo Disisa was excellent. While we waited for our meals to be prepared, we enjoyed a basket of soft, warm bread with herb garlic butter. It was like having dessert first! My husband ordered angel hair spaghetti with marinara sauce. He really enjoyed it. I ordered chicken Marsala. Both dishes were excellent. The Marsala sauce was so flavorful, plenty of mushrooms, and is served with your choice of pasta--I had penne. The entrees were both plentiful portions and we had enough to take home for another meal. We saved room for dessert. My husband had the chocolate cake and I had the Italian cheesecake which is made from ricotta cheese. It was creamy and delicious, and I enjoyed it with an excellent cup of coffee. Highly recommend this lovely family restaurant, a favorite of the locals in St. Augustine.

It saddens me to write this review of a restaurant with so many positive reviews, but sadly this…read morerestaurant missed on just about all of the food that we got. The service was pretty good, I can admit, however even that could've been better. We got started with our evening with a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced. The house arancini was chicken stuffed, which we were only told about after we ordered the dish. Sadly, the chicken pieces were large and there was just not enough cheese to really make this dish work - nor enough sauce. I even got a piece of bone in my arancini, which just ruined my appetite. We then had decided on the chicken parm for the main course (which later we realized was rather similar to the arancini). The first chicken parm piece that was got was rather large in size, however as we cut into the dish we noticed that half of the meat was still pink and cold to the touch. We showed our waiter, and instead of treating us with some empathy, we were told that "well its not our fault, but I've been trying to tell the guys in the back to pound the meat before cooking it." We were given another piece of chicken, and it was only slightly better than the first piece, but we ate a few bites and called it an evening. It's too bad, I'd be willing to try this place out for other dishes but I don't know if I'll choose this place again, knowing there are other options nearby. The best part of the evening was the ambiance and the wine, so maybe a happy hour in the future is in order.
