So glad I made the stop at 7am when they opened on a Saturday to try the hyped up PopUp Bagels! Got a 6 pack of everything and salt bagels with scallion cream cheese and I see why they love up to the hype! Warm, a bit crispy outside and soft interior these bagels that you're able to tear apart easily to dip - were delicious! And the scallion cream cheese was just as tasty. Service was great. I was greeted and helped right away with joy.

Pretty good bagels overall. Came out to around $13 for 3 bagels and a half pint of schmear. The bagels are on tge small side, but the dough is really good! nice chew, fresh, and flavorful. Only thing I didn't love is that you have to buy the minimum pack of 3. Wish you could just walk in and grab a single bagel sometimes. Still tasty though and worth trying if you're in the area.

friend came over with bagels (everything, poppy, sesame, salt) with a tub of plain cream cheese to rip and dip, as they do here. I wouldn't quite say this is a bagel; it definitely doesn't have the sourdough chewiness and tang of one. But each was delicious and fluffy while retaining a crispy exterior and easy tear-ability. Everything one was the best imo. Favorite part about Pop-Up is their cream cheese collabs which I'm excited to try when another is released, along with the scallion cream cheese. Prices are quite reasonable for Midtown and for the hype concept. Also love that they have Annie's OJ. Not famous but now known to me!

PopUp Bagels definitely has the hype, but for me, it didn't quite live up to it. The bagels have a nice exterior shell with a soft, doughy inside, but they aren't as dense or satisfying as some of the other spots I love. The original bagel itself was a bit underwhelming and honestly tasted kind of watery, lacking that rich flavor you expect from a really great bagel. They do offer a variety of schmears and flavored butters, which helps elevate things a bit and gives you some fun combinations to try. Overall, it's decent, but not a standout. With so many amazing bagel places in NYC, I'd probably recommend trying some others first

I was influenced, I must admit, but I am so pleased. These bagels were amazing, I wanted to take some home with me lol. We ordered the everything bagel with the brown sugar cinnamon butter. The bagel was soft and went well with the butter. Service was friendly and fast, even though there was a line, it moved fast. The shop was really cute, there is limited seating inside.

This very trendy and popular bagel spot in NYC is worth the hype. Before I even laid eyes on this place, I smelt the bagels all the way down the street by Madison Square Garden, and I knew at that moment that this was going to be really good. The premise here is a unique concept where you tear the bagel up with your hands and dip the bagel in the cream cheese rather than them cutting the bagel and spreading the cream cheese for you. But honestly you can take these bagels back to your place and prepare an excellent bagel sandwich yourself (and I hear a lot of people do actually do this). They have a very smart business model here where they move as many people through as quickly as possible since they're not preparing anything to order. They throw your bagels and tub of cream cheese in a bag, hand it to you, and that's it. If you order a coffee they'll hand you a cup and you'll fill the cup yourself on the way out the door. So don't be deterred if you see a massive line here, it will move super quick. There are a couple of tables if you want to stay there to eat, but it's really busy so good luck securing one. This is also one of the only places I've been where the bagels are so fresh that they're hot (not warm but actually hot) to the touch. If you're a bagel lover this is a must stop.

We shared: 1. Salt / Sesame / Everything Bagels 2. Honey Chipotle Schmear 3. Whitefish Salad Wow. I get the hype. It's hard to believe if I can find bagels more perfect than these. Perfect balance of crispy and fluffy. Everything bagel was our favorite schmeared with the whitefish salad which is excellent. We ate this pairing again on our last day in NYC. No issues with service. Order to-go only.

Visited 2/13/26. Pop up bagels are so unique and delicious in their own right. If you're someone who appreciates a good dipping a bagel then these are the ones for you. Ordering is a bit different-you order multiple bagels plus a tub of shmear for a set price. We ordered an extra dipping tub because we wanted to try the caramelized scallion butter option also. Loved it all and they didn't leave you feeling overly full like some bagels do which is a plus in my opinion. Service was also amazing-props to the amazing workers who made it in despite the tons of snow that came in that weekend. Top marks for pop-up.

Yummy bagels that truly don't even need cream cheese. Although the cream cheese flavors were fun! Small space but had some tables. Quick service and ready to help you!

Good gawd, this is an exceptional bagel. Talk about a place that's dialed in. A few schmears, 5 bagel flavors, coffee, that's it. I'll admit, the rip and dip is a new concept to me when it comes to bagels. Now don't be scared just because it's new. For $13, you get three bagel flavors and an 8 oz. tub of cream cheese. I'd say it's perfect for splitting between two or three people. I know it sounds silly, but prepare to eat these immediately. You rip the bagel and then dip it directly into the schmear. We chose everything, salt, and plain w/ scallion cream cheese. Holy f**k. This was the best bagel I had on my trip and arguably one of the best I've had in New York. The texture was unreal. The chew!!!! The scallion cream cheese is Hall of Fame level delicious. My favorite bagel of the three was surprisingly the salt bagel. Yeah yeah, they have a lot of hype and are starting to open all over the country. We went in the middle of the week around 930/10 and there was no wait. I don't know who invented this style of bagel methodology, but let's give them a medal. I'm officially a fan of the rip and dip! PopUp Bagels, I think I love you.

My first time trying popup bagels and it's really good! The dough is nice and chewy, and has a nice bite. The everything bagel is my favorite. There is limiting seating at this spot, but honestly these bagels are best to go. We got the sour cream and onion and pickle cream cheese dips. The pickle cream cheese was really good! I hope it becomes a staple flavor. that's all from me u_u

Fresh, yummy bagels. Will definitely come back. My only grievance is that the pricing is really steep.

The best bite of bagel I had! PopUp Bagels shines with their rip and dip bagels. Having these bagels fresh IS THE MOVE!!! I tried a bunch of different bagels and it all depends on preference! Some will prefer a bagel sandwich more, but if you want a bagel in its purest form, I think PopUp Bagels has some of the best out there! Crusty, but still pillowy, soft, and fluffy on the inside. I got the seasonal Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese with 3 bagels (original, salt, and poppy). Amazing bagels, but the salt bagel tasted the best against the sweetness of the cream cheese. FANTASTIC BAGELS! P.S. Eat them fresh

FOOD: We ordered a bag of 3 bagels-- everything, poppy seed & salt. The bagels were cute, medium sized and served warm/hot. We chose the scallion cream cheese which came in a lil container. Apparently the bagels are not made in the traditional manner, but they were still delicious with great texture and taste. We also ordered the tea (ok) and strawberry lemonade (yum). We enjoyed our bagels on the little countertop area outside. OVERALL: Definitely recommend! A different bagel experience than some other places (as in, those places where you are served bagels topped with cream cheese and other things) but we enjoyed the simplicity of the bagels and controlling the amount of cream cheese.

You cannot order a single bagel, you must order your bagels in 3s. So if you're not a big back and instead are a loser with no friends, you might have more bagels than you can eat. The bagels come whole and you're supposed to rip them and dip them into the cream cheese, and there's many smears to choose from, which is a plus. However, this requires a two hand situation, which means it's difficult to eat on the go, and the seating inside is limited. I did not realize this at first and I was trying to slice my bagel in half with a butter knife, and I failed and started ripping it to shreds in a fit of passion and rage. That when I saw their neon sign that says "GRIP. RIP. DIP," which sounds sexual, and realized that's the concept and intention. My advice--if you're gonna visit, come with a couple friends so you can try the bagels without having to eat 3. And bring hand sanitizer so you're not ripping up the bagel with your filthy subway fingers.
