Incredibly insulted. If you have a child and want to get a beer and wings with your friends do not go to. We were approached by the opener and told that he frowns on parents "drinking" with their children at his place of ownership. My husband and I were sipping on 1 beer each and our friends hadn't even had a sip but because we had our children with us apparently we were doing something wrong. When we said we were leaving he told us he wasn't telling us to leave!?! This is legitimate discrimination. There are so many places in the valley that have welcomed us with open arms now that we have a child to enjoy their restaurant. My husband, my friend and I have been patrons for YEARS and spent a lot of money there (regretfully) but I will NEVER return to this establishment. read more

I've had wings many places and in many states...hands down Porky's is the best I've ever had over past twenty years they have been consistently the best. Good tap selection and during afternoons ok to bring the kids. There bar pizza is pretty good kids love it. By far my favorite place to grab wings and beers. Highly recommend! read more

A very average bar. Food is fine and people rave about the wings but I don't understand the hype. The bartenders are always friendly and the crowd is usually a little older and more relaxed than, say, danny o's but this place is too expensive for what they offer. read more

Great place to grab drinks and food with friends. Having Keno there is also a plus. Staff is friendly and are always hustling to get your food/drink or your Keno tickets. Beer selection is good. Pizza and wings are great and this may sound a little weird but there is something about their grilled cheese. It's the best I've ever had. read more

Friends of mine have been telling my husband and I to check Porkys out. So we did today for lunch. We LOVED it. We had there wings and steak and cheese sandwiches. It was great! The beers were nice and cooled and the bartender was great. She was busy but she made sure we never had a empty glass. We fell in love with this place. One of my favorite bars in Shelton. Friendly staff awesome wings and always a good time! The pizza is phenomenal as well. They recently started tapping more craft beer which is a great draw for the younger crowd and keep rotating it. Keep up the great work!!! read more

Got take out from here, we ordered grinders, the food was definitely microwaved, the bread was weirdly tough and chewy, not crispy like it was put in the oven, the meat looked like steak-ums, and no toppings that were listed on the menu on either, I'm not sure if maybe they were too busy and tried to get the food too fast, but it was really bad, we tried to call to let them know but got hung up on, definitely will never go back there and can't recommend it either read more

Very disappointed, we are locals and there wings have gone downhill, there is hardly any meat on them ( they probably get the cheapest, smallest wings from their distributor), and it looked like they didn't even mix the bbq sauce onto them. Best wings in CT! I really don't know where some of these other reviewers went, but it doesn't sound like Porky's. Every time I've been there the waitstaff has been extremely friendly and attentive, especially the 2 gals that were there last night. Pizza is also very good if you like thin crust style, and their cheesesteak sandwiches are as good as any in Philly. read more

Arrived at this place with several friends to watch the UCONN game as well as the other NCAA tournament game on another channel. Forget it! I kindly asked the bartender to change one of the many flat screen sets to the other game. I was told that I am in Connecticut country. I have been to many sports bars and never experienced anything quite like this. They always play most of the games that are currently taking place simultaneously. I've been going to Porky's on and off for years pretty much for their wings which are good and were traditionally cheaper than other wing places nearby. However today was my last visit. I ordered 75 wings for the Super Bowl. When I went to pick up the wings, they charged $30 MORE than what we paid for the same amount a few weeks ago. I understand that demand can increase the price but I was not told about the increase in price when I ordered. On top of that, the woman who was working the order copped an attitude when I questioned the price (I really thought I was being polite.) The bottom line is that it's just not worth the cash. The wings are good but not the best around, the building itself feels very low rent, and the staff has never been very friendly. On top of all of this you have better wings at competitive prices at Archie Moores or the Drew Drop Inn, both of which are less than 5 minutes away. I see no reason to ever go back to Porky's. read more
