Eric Whaley, Josh Hack & Eric Williams were all incredibly responsive, when one of them was out of office or left from the day, the other would happily pick up the ball to keep the deal rolling. They went above and beyond to not only get the price below where we wanted it to be but also find me the exact vehicle that I wanted which meant driving out an hour and a half each way just to find me a white vehicle. When we went into the dealership to complete the deal, we were greeted and taken care of immediately. Eric Whaley was incredibly thorough and made sure that he got us every available discount we were eligible for. He even took the time to walk us through every single feature of the vehicle before we drove off the lot (there's a lot as this car is fully equipped). I've always read the Yelp reviews and trusted, and appreciated the candor of the people who took the time to write them. This however is my 1st. I drove down from Baltimore after working 12hrs, with the belief that it would be a pleasurable experience. My sales rep(I'll give him a slight pass, and won't divulge his name) I generally feel was a pleasant individual. However after negotiating the price he asked if I could leave a few $hundred dollar with him in good faith to show that I was serious about my interest, so I did. Fast forward to the fact that it's now been a week and a half of "making constant phone calls and leaving unreturned messages, which oddly...suddenly I can no longer seem to get someone on the phone. In addition, the 2 gentleman who extended their phone#s to me, that sought to lend a hand while I was there, to help with the transaction have also not return my phone calls. The times in which I am able to speak with someone, I receive the same seemingly empathetic...but pathetic response of, "Sure we understand, and no Sir no one is trying to take your money". To which my reply is "PUT YOURSELF IN MY POSITION, YOU'VE WORKED 12HRS, THEN DROVE FOR 2HRS, NEGOTIATED WITH SOMEONE YOU'VE ONLY KNOWN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, AND TAKING THEIR WORD IN GOOD FAITH, YOU'VE GIVEN THEM A FEW $100 DOLLARS IN THE HOPES OF GOOD BUSINESS. HOWEVER ALMOST 2WEEKS LATER YOUR STILL WITHOUT ACCESS TO YOUR OWN MONEY FOR A CAR YOU DON'T HAVE!!!!!!!. "WITHOUT A DOUBT I WILL NEVER COME BACK, AND BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO ANOTHER LIVING INDIVIDUAL. This is the second time I've taken my car to this dealership. When I arrived, the woman (I think her name is Katie) was very nice and helpful. She clearly and patiently explained everything that needed repaired. I also love that the dealership hooks you up with a rental car for free while your car is being repaired. When I get the phone call that my car was ready, the guy didn't bother to tell me how it went. I had to be the one to ask him. The only thing he cared to tell me was that I needed to fill out their survey. Why would I think about filling out their survey before I get my car and know how it runs? Most importantly, I get to the dealership before 6:00 pm; I was told that I could get there by 7:30pm at the latest. No one is around really when I arrive, though. The woman didn't go over anything with me. She just told me to pay. She asked if I saw my car out front and when I said no, she told me it should be there, if not just around the corner. It took me a few minutes to find my car. It wasn't in front or around the side, but tucked back behind the building. It was dark and the alley behind the building was poorly lit. I didn't really feel comfortable walking around. I've spent thousands of dollars on my car at this dealership. The least they can do is pull my car around for me and the bare minimum would be telling me exactly where it is so I don't have to feel unsafe or waste my time. I just took their survey, too. They asked if I wanted to post my review on cars.com and a few other sites, but they only included the "good" parts of my review--not the things they need to improve on?? Porter Hyundai seems pretty fair, but this experience kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Brought my Genesis back in 2015 (new). The sales rep and manager were very instrumental in putting me behind the wheel. At my first appointment things did not go to well by the way I thought I was treated. But shortly after that, I was called by the new service department manager who assured me that thing were going to change. I continued to take my Genesis back for routine maintenance work and recalled items and I can definitely see the improvement in service and customer treatment. On my last visit, I actually felt appreciated and I notice other customers being treated with the same courtesy. This is the worst dealership in history! They told me initially that there was no recall on my 2011 Hyundai for the engine. After I did my research there was in fact a recall. Chelsea who works there has an attitude every time I call and does not call me to update me until I CALL! Supposedly my engine was replaced in December 2018 because it stopped in the middle of the road and locked on me. The communication was poor then as well and not to mention I had to pay a lot of money to use Uber for my children and self because they told me there was no recall Then on March 28th 2019 I called them because it stopped again and her response was okay well what do you want to do. A real way to treat a customer. So I called the manufacturer and they stated they ordered a new engine for me and I'm like what?! Now this dealership is acting as if they don't understand what is going on and they're telling me a different story. The manager I spoke with at this location did not acknowledge anything I said and avoided my questions and also stood up for his employee Chelsea. I called them 8x today 4/3/19 and no one answered my call so my mother went there due to me having to work and they gave her a rental with a quarter tank and did not call me whatsoever or gave her an update on my car. I will make sure this is escalated higher. read more

I've been to the dealership several times for repairs and have been disappointed each time. We took our car in for a factory recall (replacing an ABS sensor) then the next day the battery has two dead cells. We have it towed back and they claim it's not their fault. We eat the cost of the new battery plus tow and forget about it. Ten months later another dead battery; check it with a multimeter and it's got zero volts meaning something separated no the inside. When I pulled the battery to return it, as it's still covered by the warranty, I found out they didn't even bolt it down. Take it there and they can't test it because their battery testing machine can't read a completly fried battery (my $10 multimeter could). They fork over a new battery, but the kicker is when we asked them why wasn't it secured when they installed the new battery last time their response was "if the holddown wasn't there when we received the car, we don't put it on". In other words they couldn't take the time to inform the customer they needed a $9 part that would have saved them from replacing a $90 battery ( the could have at least put a zip tie around the battery and let me know I needed to fix it) As a bonus they also did not put on the battery insulating sleeve, which I saved from the original battery before it was scraped, claiming since the sleeve was old it wouldn't fit the new battery. When I was installing the battery hold down I was able to slip the sleeve on no problem. This entire conversation was had with the service manager of the dealership. read more

I bought a certified pre-owned Hyundai Elantra last July from Porter Hyundai. This car is a complete piece of crap. I've had it in for service 7 times in the past year, including once for a new engine. Porter Hyundai sold me a Lemon. I will never purchase a vehicle from them again. The ONLY plus side to this company is the courtesy of their service department...which I unfortunately see frequently. read more

I was referred to this dealership by Chevy after trying for 2 years to order a new Corvette. Troy Mayer was my sales consultant and he quickly had my trad- in appraised at top dollar and gave me a great price on the new custom order and placed the order based on the Chevy build sheet for a new 2019 Corvette Stingray I created on the Chevy web site. The deal sheet was agreed on and a deposit placed and lucky for me Chevy started a nice lighter blue color option and Tory made sure it was on the order sheet. As the build process progressed he updated me on when production was to start. Since I have a very sick spouse he was very understanding about trying to meet and the need to do everything as fast as possible. Everything went as he explained, the final money due was a bit less than I expected and went smoothly. I have purchased 4 new vehicles and this 5th experience with Porter and Troy was the best and smoothest. He helped save me a lot of money as well. They are a Costco discount dealer and honor the GM BuyPower Points as well. read more

I took my car to Porter to have my battery replaced under warranty. I stated I needed to jump it after it sat all night in my garage. I thought I would have to wait an hour or two tops. When a young service tech came out and told me my battery tested out fine, and that a battery normally lasts only two years, I disagreed. I wanted to know how they were going to resolve the issue. He got upset and stormed off into the shop. My service advisor Kirsten told me I had to talk to the manager. When Brad first spoke to me he never introduced himself. He said he needed to keep the car to verify that the battery was indeed an issue before replacing under warranty. On Tuesday I contacted Brad to find out what was going on with the car. He did call me back and told me that the car started and they need more time. I asked him to keep me informed and he said no problem. Wednesday and Thursday I heard nothing. I even emailed Brad again and asked him to give me an update, still nothing. Friday morning I called and the receptionist told me my car would be done that day, but she could not tell me what resolved the issue. I asked to have Kirsten call me to let me know. She did and told me they replaced the battery and I could get my car. No one explained to me or apologized for taking 5 days to replace a faulty battery under warranty. I've owned the car for 14 months. This is my first Hyundai. I love the Sonata Eco, but this battery issue taking 5 days is absolutely ridiculous. I am not impressed. If I were the manager at Porter, I would be embarrassed. They need better equipment to test batteries, that is for sure. I am reluctant to recommend. read more

WARNING......BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Story starts out great...Prior to this purchase I was a tried and true Toyota customer for YEARS!!!! i was ready for a new car and was referred to Mike Moran at Porter Hyundai. Mike indeed was/is great. on sale day it took approximately 6 hours. arrived around 3 pm and did not leave until just about 9 pm. i realize this was due to a myriad of things...selecting car, used car appraisal, loan and documentation and the salesperson handling customers who had an appointment....no issue there...part of the process. I left just before 9 pm (i was tired and Mike still was juggling other customers...i did it as favor to say i come back for him to do a walk around and show the inner workings). Biggest mistake of my life. when i left the dealership (which lighting was not great) i did a cursory look at the vehicle but again Mike was tied up and lighting was poor. (note: NEVER TAKE DELIVERY OF CAR AT NIGHT.....PERIOD.) turns out there was a good size scratch low on the passenger side windshield that ran contrary to the swipe of the windshield....also no damage on the body of the vehicle). i called the following day when I noticed it. They DID agree to replace this. So....took my car to body shop and picked up a loaner so that they could replace windshield. Following day i go to pick up my car and there's a huge chip in the hood. Manager reluctantly agrees to 'fix it'...this meant i bring the vehicle to the paint guy (contract guy that comes once a week to the used car lot)....he was nice but dabbed a little paint and said there you go...mind you the paint did not fill the chip nor was it the color of the car. he advised the paint would adjust. IT DID NOT. Call the following day. Mike put me to Keith....nighttime manager....he was adversarial from the start and says NOW that the (windshield and the chip) could have happened anytime by anyone...intimating i did this or had knowledge of it!!!! calling me a Liar without calling me a liar (sidenote: would love for him to refute anything that i am putting down in this review...he will know that he would then be exposed)...he also advised that Tim (daytime manager the day i purchased advised him (Keith) that i did a thorough walk around....makes no sense since Keith was the one present (by present i mean working at night...not waving to me goodbye as i drove off)...not sure why he would even bring this to light. Continuing with story he tells me that if i not happy with the hood paint 'fix' that I could pay the body shop to fix the car....I clearly was in AWE...not only am I a liar but they agreed to resolve an issue and failed horribly. Also to tell me that they "porter' did this as Courtesy....Really...So my Buyer BEWARE reminder is.... NEVER TAKE DELIVERY AT NIGHT, TRUST IS EVERYTHING AND IF A DEALERSHIP DISPLAYS UNTRUSTWORTHY VALUES AND ATTITUDES...AND!!! HOW YOUR TREATED THE DAY YOU BUY VS THE DAY AFTER!!!! It's up to people like me to OUT these types of occurrences to maybe save the next person. Note: I did reach out to Hyundai Corporate and unfortunately they said they could not compel Porter to fix or change anything....in addition they were not able to allow me to update my Survey sent to them....i would not however change anything great about Mike Moran....who got put in the middle. read more
