We live locally and went here for brunch with my husband. I ordered the biscuit and gravy. It was good, but heavy. He had the avocado biscuit which was dry and didn't have much flavor. The place has a decent ambiance and our waitress was nice and helpful, which is a lot more than I can say for the host/owner who sat us down. We called before heading over and the person who answered told us there were some open tables in the garden and inside, too. We got there 2 minutes later and told the host (also an owner) that we had just called about an open table in the garden. After having snapped at us for not making a reservation ahead of time, he reluctantly sat us at a crappy table near the bar despite other open tables that remained unseated throughout the duration of our time there. His personality alone makes us uninterested in returning. He was nasty and rude. As a native New Yorker, I am well aware that better options are available elsewhere. We won't be returning. read more

Also their matcha lattes look a little too beautiful, as in, it's hard to drink them when they are served because you don't want to ruin it. Solid brunch spot! Bear in mind that this place is relatively small and narrow so wait times can range from 30-45 min during brunch times. Man, oh man, it's probably been a good 2 weeks or so since I ate at Post, yet here I am still dreaming about their Avocado Biscuit with Chicken Sausage. Seriously, guys, this place has without a doubt one of the best damn biscuits I've ever eaten in my entire life and let me tell ya, my carb-loving ass has eaten a lotttt of biscuits over the years. It's moist (giggity), thick (giggity giggity), ridiculously flavorful and I want at least a half dozen of them delivered to me right now. The chicken sausage I added on was also such a great idea because it was also so flavorful and it just made my biscuit *that* much better and meatier. This little gem just opened up a few weeks ago, so there is currently only bar seating, but don't let that deter you. In fact, I would actually highly recommend high-tailing your asses there ASAP so you can get one or two or ten of those biscuits before this place really blows up and the lines become insane. One of the few new places that lived up to the hype for me. They have a simple, classic menu that's done well. We went for brunch and tried the avocado biscuit sandwich and the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits themselves were slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside; not dry at all. The biscuits and gravy looked messy, but tasted great. The avocado biscuit was good as well, but perhaps next time I would try it with the sausage for a bit more flavor. Ok, maybe a 4.5-5, but we will stick to a 4 just because it was our first time there. We're back in the city after what seems like a very long time and the most important thing to us is...... finding delicious food, oh and spending QT with the brother in law and his gf. We figured it was the business with the small white doors and no over head sign. As we got closer, we noticed a small chalkboard sign with the name "Post" across the top. We walk in and it is so cute! All white (which I always love) and a few bar stools along the bar. We quickly decide to sit at the end of the bar. We are approached by the waiter/bar tender. The hubby orders an OJ, while I order a black tea mixture. As we scan the menu, there are so many delicious options. The hubby and I quickly go toward the same item, but I persuade him to get something else so that we can share. (Hubby prefers not to share, I always want to share). I ordered the avocado egg biscuit and the hubby orders the biscuit and gravy. They were both AMAZING! I'm so glad we opted for the 2 different dishes rather than the same. The hubby's dish was served with home made chicken sausage, which we were hesitant about at first, but quickly understood why it showed up in a few dishes on the menu. Food was delicious, servers were friendly, ambience was lovely, yet seating is cramped. The biggest problem is slow service since only 2 people were helping that day. I got here Saturday morning around 10:50 am and this place was nearly full, with people waiting. Upon my friend's arrival around 11:10 am, the restaurant was fully occupied. We waited for 15 mins or so and sat at the counter (all counter seats). This place is really tiny. In the back by the restroom was a table for a group of maybe 4, maximum. But honestly that was not where I want my brunch to be because of bad lighting. We ordered the mimosa, which is not on the menu but on the board outside. It was just a small glass. I think you can skip it, because it wasn't that extraordinary and cost us more than 10 mins' wait. I had the Biscuits and Gravy and my friend got Sausage Biscuits. We both loved our food, since we haven't had any biscuits for years. My gravy was very flavorful with sausages, too, and the edge of the biscuits was a bit burnt, making it crunchy and particularly tasty. The fried egg on top was simply a plus, as it always is, although the yolk wasn't running much. The gravy was not flowing, either, but thick and stiff. It took our server almost 20 minutes to check us out, because only he has the machine and he needed to take care of other stuffs too. While waiting, more people came. When we left around 12:30 pm, there was a line of 2-3 pairs waiting. I'm not sure if it is like this busy every weekend, but I suggest you come before 11:30 am if you don't want to wait for 30 mins. Always a perfect experience! After a hard morning of playing basketball this is the perfect spot to grab a amazing brunch at the bar or with two friends at a table. This place isn't for the huge crowd of brunch goers but more laid back and relaxed affair. Cocktails are on point and they have the typical brunch cocktails if you're a purist for brunch drinks. I had the biscuit with bacon and egg, the biscuit was baked perfectly golden, crusty on top and still soft inside, there's a green salad that goes with it. Although the biscuit looks small, it's actually packed with the ingredients and I left feeling quite full, a lot of people had left over food since the portion is large. The price is affordable, with coffee less than $3 and the biscuits around $12-$14. The restaurant looks very retro and romantic, there are plants everywhere, if you get lucky you might get a spot to sit outdoors to enjoy the weather. So happy my best friend introduced me to this place! It is truly a hidden gem in this big city. We came for brunch on New Year's Day and it was a perfect way to start the new year (and cure all of our hangovers!!). I had the pancakes with eggs and sausage and it was so good! The pancakes were so soft and fluffy and the eggs were delicious. I also tried a bite of my friends biscuit and it was also very good. I've been here twice for Sunday brunch. The first time, I had the sausage biscuit, and the second time, I had the adobo biscuit. I liked the adobo pulled pork much more than the sausage, but it was fattier than I would have liked. It oozed fat when I pressed my fork and knife into it! There are some nice touches I didn't expect for a tiny bar-restaurant with a hyper-focused menu, like how the knife they give you is serrated (much easier to cut through biscuit exteriors) and the delicate, acidic dressing on the side greens. Overall, the biscuit sandwiches are quite heavy, with every element containing a considerable amount of fat. I appreciated the side greens but could have done with less fat / more acid to cut through it. The water glasses are small, and they're not super prompt with refilling them, so there's not much to balance the fattiness unless you order a beverage. You would probably have to be there right when they open to be seated without a wait for Sunday brunch. Their seats at the front window are sometimes unusable in the morning if it's very sunny, since they face east. Sitting at the bar is rather uncomfortable (I think you need a party of at least 3 to get a table), but I guess it's NYC, we're limited on space. Both times, I noticed there were regulars with whom the staff was very friendly, so it seems like a nice neighborhood place. read more

So we ended up at POST, a tiny but amazing brunch place where you cannot go wrong choosing anything on the menu. I was also surprised by the care they put into their coffee. Being super sleep deprived I went for both and espresso and americano and I have to say - both were elevated far above my expectations.
