Bad service. They took our order at 1:23pm, and the order came out at 2:09pm Without explanation. When I complained why it took them more than 45 minutes to get my order (only 3 items: one appetizer and 2 main course items for myself and my wife), the waitress tried to be defensive saying that my order came one minute after another table's order. First rule of service industry: customer is king. Second rule: own up your mistake, don't try to be defensive. If you or any person on your team makes a mistake, own up to it, don't try to be defensive. Especially when earlier her colleague tried to bring kimchi soup to me, and I didn't order that soup. Wrong input of order? And when the food came out, they said they were running out of rice that came with my order. For all the boiling point fans, I think I found a better option! Boiling point used to be my weekly craving but in the past year things have changed :-(. The boiling point soup isn't as flavorful, their famous bean sauce was completely changed to something ordinary, and the stinky tofu isn't as stinky. What bummed me out the most was the bean sauce. Boiling point use to sell this sauce cuz it's that good - goes especially well with tofu! This new place actually has many more variety of pots - 18 total. I tried the porridge pot and it was very good and had a lot of veggie which I love. You can add chicken or abalone to the pot for extra charge but they apparently ran out of abalone when I was there. The Taiwanese pot was also very tasty and you can adjust the level of spice as compare to boiling point. What impressed me the most was I found the old boiling point bean sauce again! Comparing it to boiling point, they have more soups to choose from which is something I liked. The quality is also pretty similar. The only thing I didn't like was their sliced pork was too fatty, more fatty than pork bacon. So if you're ordering a sliced meat and you don't like too much fat, I suggest just getting the sliced beef. read more

Food is always good, however, it seems the staff is not properly trained seating guests. On more than one occasion, my wife and I have arrived, many open seats, available. Eye contact is made with more than one staff member with no acknowledgment whatsoever. Instead, they run off and hide in the kitchen. As a business owner, wouldn't you want guests to be seated to ensure more sales? We are choosing to spend our money here and this is how we are welcomed? The purpose of this review is not to be spiteful or vindictive, but rather for the owner to be made aware that this is how the staff operates. Came here to get takeout , I ordered the taiwanese spicy pot and the house special pot . I'm not sure if its because , I did takeout thats why It doesn't taste really good but you can taste the beef , etc inside the pot is not fresh. Also, not to complain about the portions , but since its takeout I think they serve you a little less than whats on the picture for a dine in , there was very little beef inside and for the price I personally don't think it is worthed. I also made a mistake not to see whats inside each of the pots, and I think in the house special there was pork intestine & blood? I'm a super big fan of Boiling Point so I was super excited to try this place out when I was finally in the area!! My first impression was that the menu was so vast and unique!! There were a ton of different flavors that no other individual hot pot place has. I got the sukiyaki pot, which was amazing. The flavor was so rich and lightly sweet, and the ingredients complimented the pot super well. I will definitely be coming back to try more flavors from the huge selection!! Pot on Fire is delicious and an equal alternative to Boiling Point in my eyes. I don't know how it compares in terms of price, but the hot pot selection and taste is like exact to me. The pro of Pot on Fire is there isn't as crazy of a wait as there is for the nearby Boiling Point (ex. 7pm Saturday night had a 30-min wait vs a 1.5-hr wait). Pot on Fire also has like 3x the interior dining space of its more-famous counterpart. I do not live in this area but frequent Chino/Chino Hills enough to say I've been here twice and really like it. I also think it's cool how nearly the entire order-to-checkout process at Pot on Fire is done by the customer via QR code. A server still physically needs your card at the end to swipe but otherwise your tip and all you put in before hand (so make sure to remember this when signing the receipt, as there still is a gratuity section, calculating off your total that already includes your tip). I highly recommend Pot on Fire. It's easy to miss, as it's next to an HR Block and Green Massage place on a dead side of the Chino Spectrum Marketplace. This hot pot spot is comparable to the more popularly known, Boiling Point. The soup seemed more flavorful than Boiling Point, and had a lot more meat in each bowl. I got the Curry Fish Ball soup, spicy level 3 out of 4. The spiciness makes you cough a few times during the first few bites, but was oh so delicious. The curry itself was not overpowering at all. There were plenty of fish and meat balls inside, lots of meat, and just enough veggies. The bowls come with either a serving of rice or noodles. Don't get me started on their mandarin orange lemon green tea. Yummmmy! One star lost for what we saw at the table two seats away. The couple called over the waitress to ask what something was in their soup. He held up this medium sized plastic or latex looking thing from I side his soup. The waitress took the entire bowl away, and another male came to apologize to the customers. The place itself is good. Good flavors, good service, clean atmosphere. Go with glass noodle is always a great choice! Quite good amount of food, I'm able to share with friend when I'm not in the mood. Ever since I discovered this little spot, I never looked back at boiling point. I never bothered to make a review until yesterday, I was extremely irritated with the service. My boyfriend came in maybe around 15 minutes before me, I specifically told him to come in to order so once I get there, the food would be ready and we wouldn't have to wait longer. Once I came in, I noticed they got slammed with a lot of customers and it was still early and around their opening time. My boyfriend mentioned that it would take 30 minutes since they just got so busy and there were orders ahead of us. There were only two servers (female who I see there quite often and a bigger male server), the male server took his order. Fast Forward to LITERALLY an hour later, we still have not received our order. We had even asked the male for a followup on our order and all he said was "yeah". We literally watched people who came AFTER us receive their food first, and we watched a few tables even finish their food before we even got our food. And we all came at the same time. Maybe five minutes later, the small female server with dyed hair, about shoulder length, asked us what our order was. It was as if the guy never put in our order in the first place, and she noticed we've been waiting there. Thankfully she helped us out, and brought out our food. They also ran out of rice, but she gave it to us as soon as it was done. She offered us complimentary drinks that we did not take, so she gave us a 50% off discount instead. If it weren't for her apologizing and handling the situation in a good way, I would have left the establishment. 4 stars for that specific server and the food. Pot on fire, I was so thrilled that I found another Taiwanese stinky tofu pot joint after hot spot and smelly pot closed down. The ambiance is good, modern and spacious. There are seriously PLENTY of options for personal small pots. It is a huge bonus to have a tea bar within the restaurants. You always feel like a cold tea drink is a MUST HAVE while you enjoy your hot pot. I came here for dinner and found out there is no included free green tea or black tea. However, it is all good because I am okay with paying more to get a customized tea of my own. I ordered roasted oolong honey tea and I was very pleased. The servers are mostly very patient and friendly. I wouldn't say it provides the best service because part of my order got mixed up a little and it took a little time to correct. Came here for the first time and it was good! It was a personal pot style hotpot. Pot on fire is different from other places because they have A LOT of flavor options. I got the sesame chicken pot and my friend got the popcorn chicken pot (two pots I didn't think I would ever see on a menu at a shop like this). The sesame oil chicken pot was not bad. It was kind of salty and oily for my liking and the sesame oil flavor was not as prominent as I would have liked. I've definitely had better sesame oil chicken soup elsewhere. This pot was also more expensive than other pots....... I don't think I would get it again. My friend enjoyed her popcorn chicken pot though! She got the chicken on the side so it stays crispy. Overall, this place is not bad for personal hot pot. The interior is nice and spacious, lots of seating options and fast service. They also have really good teas! Bp's soup bases have been too salty as of late, and since all their soup bases are made from powder, we were looking for a better alternative and Pot in fire is what we found. The quality of the soup is way better and they make their own base instead of using some powdered form. The sour nappa soup is bomb! Pot on fire is located in Chino and is some what similar of many of the hot pot stores around the area but one thing that is different, is they serve Tea Bar tea here. That makes a huge difference since the tea is actually pretty good and it goes well with eating hot pot. Came here right when they opened at 11:30 and it didn't seem too busy but it did get packed while we were seated and literally every table was filled with people eating lunch here. Parking is not hard to find there are plenty of spots but I did have a little trouble on getting to this side and finding the store from gps. Ordered the popcorn chicken hot pot and black tea. The food took quite awhile to get to us which was kind of surprising. Went there around 1pm on a Sunday and got seated right away, no wait time. I got the sukiyaki pot that surprisingly came in a different bowl than everyone else's. We also got a ramen and extra pork, but I don't think the extra pork was needed because your hot pot came packed with food. The meat looked pre-coooked, so we could eat it right away. The fire burned all through out the meal, so you don't have to worry a out your soup getting cold. And they give you a big bowl of rice, so all my family was definitely full by the end of the meal. You can also ask for more of the soup if your noodles soaked most of it up, like my udon noodles did. Next time I go, I'll probably get the popcorn chicken that my friend because those chickens were so flavorful with so many spices. read more

Say nomore as this place is the GOAT of hot pot. Where Boiling Pt died 3 years ago once they remixed their flavor, this place picked up the flavor and made it legendary. If you prefer the original authentic and flavorful soup broth, you will love this place as I've ordered the house special time after time. The portion is good and priced right plus you get that free drink to cool off the spicy flavor. This is really a hidden gem and puts Boiling and Red Flame to shame I swear (drop the mic). I hope they continue to do good and better not go out of business... as this is the only hot pot I will eat driving my f80 there 30 miles from where I live. If I had to get on an electric chair tomorrow morning I would probably choose this hot pot but just not that much tofu.... cuz I don't want to be foaming out my mouth. Pot on fire has to be one of my favorite hotpot places. I started coming here during their soft opening and Ive been going back since. I rather have this place than boiling point. I always order my original pot, which is the Taiwanese pot. Unlike boiling point, pot on fire will let you adjust the spiciness for that pot. The food never lets me down. Every time I come, it has been amazing. I wish I can say the same about the service. In the beginning, they had a server by the name of Mimi, I think? She was amazing. Since we were regulars she would notice us all the time. She greeted us with a smile and would confirm our regular order. I don't know where she disappeared to, but she was very helpful. My last visit there the service was lame. It looked like one girl was running all the food! It was so sad. I feel like they left all that work for that poor girl. She was definitely putting in a lot of work. While the other coworkers were chatting away. Which also delayed my food, which doesn't make me happy at all. Overall the food was still amazing, but I'm no longer around that area anymore. Maybe one day I'll be back. read more

IT was all our first times there and we all ordered the Satay Beef. For lunch you get either green tea or black tea for free! Firstly the soup was perfect and delicious. I was STUFFED at the end of the meal. The meat portion is good and the toppings are abundant. When comparing to Boiling Point, I have to say that the portion here is bigger and the topping selection is better as well. My other co-workers agreed as well. Finally.....They are open for outdoor dining. Missed having hot pot for the last 9 months. My favorite hot pots are Korean Kimchee and sukiyaki. There were about 8 tables outside with limited seating up to 4 people. All COVID protocols were followed. Disposable service wares were provided while dining. I like that you can choose how spicy you want it. I got mine spicy which was perfect, but I am curious about trying the extremely spicy in the future. Many hotpot places serve their food family style, but here, they serve their hotpot in servings for 1-2 people. The hotpot comes with your choice of rice or noodles and a couple of dipping sauces. Keep in mind that when you read the descriptions of what is in each hotpot, if it is written in the singular, they really mean just one. It's not a typo. For example, if they write "fish ball" or "quail egg," they really mean just one fish ball or one quail egg. When I arrived, the tables inside were blocked off, and everyone was wearing masks. There was no wait, and they had a QR code that you could scan to see the menu without touching anything. Overall, I felt really safe. The food was packaged securely for takeout, so no mess!
