(They moved from inside ranch 99) Confusing order process bc the stand said you can sit at the restaurant and order from the QR code but then the waiter at the restaurant said you had to order from the stand. Love going here for a quick and easy lunch. Each pot honestly could feed two if you add an extra noodle. Its connected to a boba shop and a ramen shop. You can order your hot pot on the kiosk. Taking off a star because the new location is not the most sanitary. The salt and pepper popcorn chicken and stinky tofu pot are delicious, but we sat at the ramen restaurant next door and saw two roaches! They were having a blast crawling up and around the honeycomb structures.... It's not technically Pot17's fault but still gross. read more

This has quickly become one of my favorite hot pot places to eat at in the north Dallas area, and it's a perk that I don't have to drive too far! It's located inside the food court area at 99 Ranch Market in Frisco so it has a very casual vibe. I've tried the Taiwanese Spicy a few times, Curry fish ball, and the Thai style and all have been really delicious! The curry and Thai style aren't too overpowering in flavor, so that was really good. There are plenty of toppings they put in their hot pot and they usually come with at least one noodle/rice option so it is also very filling. They also have other food items you can order if you don't want soup, but I've never tried it before. This is definitely my top place to come for hot pot! read more

Located in the back of the 99 Ranch food court, this place is not to be missed! The workers are friendly and service is fast. Our food came out within 5-10 min of ordering. There is also the option between free water or sweetened tea. If you've been to a place like Tasty Pot, it's the same concept but in my opinion, so much better. I got the Cilantro and Preserved Egg pot and it had a great flavor. I have no idea what the soup base was, but it tasted great. FYI, when you choose the spice level of the pot, that determines how much chili oil they add in at the end. You have to mix it in yourself as it came all concentrated in the middle. I got Medium spicy and it wasn't very spicy, so if you're looking for some heat, then I'd recommend Hot. It came out on a tray with the fire going underneath the pot, which made it boiling hot. That was the one thing I didn't love -- basically, you have to burn your mouth eating it because by the time the fire goes out, the food becomes very cold and isn't enjoyable anymore. It was a good portion for the price with plenty of meat, enough for 1 hungry person or 2 smaller eaters to share. I haven't visited other hot pot places in DFW yet, but this was a hit! read more

Ever since they moved out of Ranch 99 food court, I think biz has gone downhill. Ppl enjoy getting a hotpot and other stuff from other stalls, so by moving out they isolated their customers to just hotpot. We got the popcorn chicken rice but what came was in a cheap plastic container and not on a plate as pictured. Qty was lacking for the price. Hotpot was ok. They also got away with the excellent fragrant tea which used to come free at the food court, which was a bummer. Even with the increased pricing and smaller portion size, they still cut off the fragrant tea, it's a disappointment read more

One of my favorite spots! They used to be inside 99 ranch's food court and have now moved to the other plaza across the way next to kyuramen. I've tried almost all of the hotpot flavors here and there has not been one that I didn't like. I love a personal sized hot pot and theirs is always so flavorful with delicious ingredients and always leaves me satisfied. I usually get the medium spicy level which used to be spicier but the last few times I went, it seemed like the spicy level has come down some. I might do the highest level next time. Food always comes out pretty fast, service is straight forward. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. They also have other foods and appetizers there if you're wanting to get other things besides hot pot. Their current new space is a bit small but I think they will be getting a bigger space soon and this one is just temporary. read more

I came and ordered taiwanese spicy hot pot but sadly, the meat is all fat, less topping, less veggies and no more free tea when they were in the food court. I never had stinky tofu before so when my friends told me about this place, I had to go. Pot17 is located inside of Ranch 99 at the food court. So there's not much to say about the ambiance of the place. It's definitely clean for a food court though. The service was not bad except there was a little language barrier. With a little patience, we figured it out. Everything came out quite fast and HOT. So be careful slurping your life away. The fried potato shrimp was interesting. I really liked it, but the shrimp was pretty small. The house special pot was good! I am craving it as we speak. I got it with noodles. They were very generous with the toppings. There were variety of toppings also. I was too excited to eat and burnt myself a couple of times. Fatty for life. Now on to the stinky tofu, the reason why I came here. It was a bit of disappointment. Tasted almost like a regular fried tofu. I was expecting more fermented? More stinky? More in your face scent? But my friend said it was probably an off day. I've been seeing this restaurant on Uber eats so I decided to try Tried for the first time today and WOW! This hot pot was so delicious, I was pleasantly surprised. They give generous amounts of toppings in your order (meats, veggies, seafood) and the broth is very flavorful. You can add on more toppings at an extra cost as well and the portion sizing is easily shareable with another person too! I tried the house special and it had a perfect rich flavor with enough spice to taste the pepper but not too overwhelming for me (I ordered mild!). 3.5 stars Pretty filling for one person! I ordered the Pumpkin pot and for spicy level I asked for hot. Unfortunately I don't think it was spicy at all, didn't taste the heat (-1 Star). Pretty average pricing (12.99 dinner) but there wasn't a lot of pumpkin slices (2 small slices to be exact) but there was a good amount of beef in it. Soup base was a little too salty for me (thank goodness I ordered rice!) but there wasn't a lot of rice that came with it. Overall, it was a good spot to try out. My husband and I love Pot 17! We always get the mushroom pot and curry pot. We enjoy spicy but can't really handle it so we get mild hoping it's just a bit of kick but LOOK AT THE AMOUNT. I have to scoop half out to share with my husband to make the spiciness bearable. Mushroom pot comes with so many veggies and a bit of beef. You have a choice of vermicelli noodles or rice on the side or pay extra for fancier noodles. I stick with the vermicelli. The sauces that they give you are this brown probably soy sauce based sauce that I use for veggies and tofu. And this red (bean?) sauce that I dip the beef in. They also serve complimentary sweetened tea which is so refreshing for a hot pot meal! For the price and portion, this is easily one of our favorite spots!!! I heard Pop Pot had Thai soup so I came right away to try it out. I have been very sad since Boiling Wok closed its location in Carrollton. You don't see very many places here with the same concept (individual hot pot) with Thai soup and I really liked theirs a lot. This place is located at the food court inside 99 Ranch and is totally self serve. You order and pay at the counter. You pick up your food when your number is called. You bring the tray back to the counter when you're done. Just keep that in mind because you will be asked if you want to add a tip to your bill when you pay. On this visit, I came for lunch on a Saturday. The staff was friendly enough but not very talkative. Being my first time here, I didn't know the process. It took me a second to realize the tea he was offering me was complimentary with the meal. I chose the green tea which was really good, but just a heads up it was slightly sweetened. So glad it was my treat aka cheat day. The food didn't take long. Be careful carrying the boiling pot of soup on a tray back to your table! Perhaps sit near the counter like I did. I just cringe thinking how horrible it would be if someone were to drop their tray of hot soup over a flaming burner. The pot is shallow and is filled to the rim with hot soup. My Thai soup came out looking delicious. I chose vermicelli noodles instead of rice and opted for the "hot" spicy level. It was not as spicy as I had anticipated and that's coming from someone who is not exactly an expert at eating spicy foods. Also, the soup tasted more sweet than sour but overall was flavorful. The Thai pot was not a home run for me and it was the main reason why I came here. It had a good amount of ingredients and I liked the different variety it contained. I would definitely come back and try the other soups instead but it's nice to know they do have Thai soup when the cravings hit. read more

POT17 is located inside the food court of 99 Ranch. They have a variety of premade hot pot options, but they are pricy, coming in at about $17 dollars for one pot. The amount of food is less than Yin Tang. The flavor of the hot pot is good, I usually get the Taiwanese style. I also really like the hot pot sauces they give - its in a cute cup that is resealable. The sauces also taste really good with their fatty beef. So you may be asking me, why are you giving this place 2 stars? Great question! We found like 2 hairs on our dish. NASTY. There was a hair on our spoon and a hair on our quail egg. It was so off-putting, and esp to see it twice. read more

If you love hot pot (and stinky tofu, since there's nowhere else in DFW i know of that sells stinky tofu lol) you must come here!! It was almost random and last minute choice when we decided to come here. It was less than 30mins before the closing time, but since it's inside the food court, they were happy to take our order. We wanted to try the stinky tofu too, but their fryer was turned off 30mins before closing (we missed it by mins!!!), good reason to come back soon and try them again. Unlike regular hot pot where you cook each thing as you go, here the hot pots are served with everything already cooked and still boiling. Expect it to continue to boil for at least another 10mins! Don't even try to blow out the fire. I tried. I failed! For how much meats and vegetables they give, I think it's super generous for the price. One pot can easily feed 2 people with an extra order of noodle or rice. We made a mistake by diving straight into the pot and start eating out of it. Pretty much burnt our mouth. Looked around and saw other people pour the soup into the small styrofoam cup (has rice or noodle), cool it down much quicker with much smaller portion and not being cooked on fire also helps a lot too lol. If you check in on yelp, you'll also get a free 24oz iced/hot green tea or black tea. I wanted green tea but they were out. Was disappointed at first, then super glad I got the black tea, cuz it was freaking good!! NOT your regular black tea at all. So good that we were gonna order another one, but again, we were literally 2 minutes late, they dumped out the tea almost right before we wanted to place the order. They have so many choices for hot pots, different flavors, different toppings. I can't wait to come back and try out a few more things, and of course the iced tea again! read more

**Rating this place 3.5 stars** I've been dying to try their stinky tofu! The first time I stopped by, they didn't have it available for lunch, but I was determined to try it. This place is located inside 99 Ranch Market in the back corner of the store. They have a selection of hot pots as well as appetizers to choose from. I tried the takoyaki, popcorn chicken and the stinky tofu! The wait time was a bit lengthy in my opinion as we only ordered appetizers, but I understand that frying anything will take time. However, the takoyaki was room temp when we got our food. The popcorn chicken was a bit on the salty side and not as tender as I'd like it to be but the flavor was great! I did enjoy the long awaited stinky tofu, as it was fried nicely. However, the flavor wasn't enough to me. But the stinkiness was definitely there! If it's too crowded, just order this and people will clear out real quick! I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the vinegar meant for this dish. Only soy sauce and chili sauce were available which was an okay substitute. I'll be back to try the hot pots and give it a second chance! read more

This place is located inside the 99 ranch area in Frisco where the food court it. It was pretty busy when I went on a Tuesday dinner and there was a bit of a wait time for food to come out. Appetizers seems to come out quick but the hot pot takes a while. I got this sutadonya one and asked for medium spicy. It didnt come out with any spice at all but I didnt mind it because the broth was actually slightly sweet. Like a very light sweet chicken or clear broth. There was so much cabbage which I like but I felt that was it. For the expensive price I felt it was a bit underwhelming. Only cabbage a little bit of meat, like literally 1 clam, 1 fish cake, like 5 udon noodles.. it was disappointing for the 18 dollars I paid for. Also the dish is very shallow so it's super small. My bf got the house and the stinky tofu is soooo overpowering I didn't like it at all. His was 2 dollars cheaper than mine and it came in a smaller bowl with pretty much like 1 clam 1 fish cake 4 tofu etc like mine. For the price.. idk.. its not bad like I really enjoyed mine but I think I would rather go elsewhere or do like a ayce during lunch at shabro or manna shabu instead. read more

Located in the food court area of 99 Ranch, this place filled my hot pot needs. There is a Sunday lunch rush through the food court in general, so seating could be limited. They do a great job cleaning tables after people leave. The only issue is the space in general is small. So although tables are distanced, people could still be walking by you. House Special Pot had all your essentials and variety. Price and portions are reasonable. You do have to pick up your own food when it's called so don't drop it! The fire doesn't seem to last to long which I prefer. Other places I have been, I had to ask the fire to be put out because it was just too difficult to eat. When you're done, return your tray to the counter! Don't put it in the general trash/return trash area. read more

My local individual hot pot place closed down, so I am happy to see this one open. Located inside of the 99 Ranch food court in Frisco. Their menu is quite diverse in terms of broth styles. The flavors can vastly differ so be sure to order the flavor you know you'll like. I believe the #1 comes with stinky tofu. I got the #2 hot pot with preserved egg. The broth was good and spice levels are customizable too. The ingredients were good - tasted all fresh and high quality. I also got the popcorn chicken which did not disappoint, tasted as it should. I personally enjoyed the fact that Pop Pot has everything selected for the different hot pots they serve, and you can add/omit items if you please. One of my favorite all time places to eat at is Boiling Point, but they don't really have anything like that here in Dallas until Pop Pot & Tea. I was super excited to try this place out since people were saying it was pretty comparable. So this place is an individual hot pot restaurant where they ready have the ingredients picked out for you and you mainly just pick the broth you want. If there are certain items you would like to add you can add them in (of course for an additional fee). I got the Taiwanese Hot Pot with a side of rice, and my friends got the Thai Hot Pot and the House Hot Pot. Be warned the House Hot Pot has stinky tofu in it, it's yummy but the smell is not for everyone. My Taiwanese Hot Pot was very flavorful, but the other broths were a little bland in comparison. The only downside to this place was that the service was very lacking, two out of the three pots couldn't stay lit so the soups got cold which made the meal not enjoyable. I also thought the prices were a little high for hot pot, for $18 a pot for mostly vegetables seemed a little pricey, and it doesn't even come with a drink like other places. read more

If you're not into buffet style hot pot and prefer to just have an individual size, this place is definitely for you. The wife and I can't eat much and feel like we'd be wasting our money at a buffet. This place serves up 17 (yes I said 17) different styles of hot pot that can easily be shared between two people (if you order the dinner portion). It's located in the food court in the 99 Ranch market in Frisco. I love how you just order at the counter, take your number, and they call you when it's ready. Simple and straight-forward. We've been here several times and I'm surprised I haven't written a review earlier. This place is consistent and always exceeds my expectations. We've tried the House Special Pot and the Thai Style Hot Pot. Both are amazing! The House Special comes with a little bit of everything (seafood meatballs, shrimp, imitation crab, mushrooms, beef, quail eggs, etc.). The meat is tender, the broth is savory, and the dinner portion is huge. We always substitute the stinky tofu with regular tofu when we order this one. I also like to order a side of steamed rice with it as well. The Thai Style is pretty much a "tom yum" broth. Spicy, sour, and savory. We asked for the highest spice level and it was prefect for us. It'll definitely warm you up on a cold day. The meat and seafood that comes with this hot pot is very similar to the House Special with the addition of mussels. I wish it had more lemon grass flavor though. It's a nice take on a Thai style but could use more authentic Thai spices. This place is 45 minutes from our house and the drive is definitely worth it. I love this place! My first time here and I didn't have much expectations to anything. I did not realized how many places to eat from in the food court so I was like a kid in a candy store. I ordered the mushroom hot pot, mild spicy. The pot came out with everything inside and ready to be devour! To my surprise, the broth was sooooo delicious and not overly salty at all. The portion size was perfect for one person...but if you have a healthy appetite you might not be full with one portion. I also ordered a few things to share from the food court. I left that location pretty satisfied. I wish there is a location near my area as there aren't any mentionable asian food in the downtown dallas area. There's something satisfying about not having to share (or maybe I'm just selfish) and picking exactly which broth you like with pre-prepared options. It's a self serve restaurant and be warned - when the pots are ready, you have to walk super carefully. Be aware of your surroundings as the food court is really crowded and people can definitely bump into you. I think I got the Taiwanese pot but it was really, really yummy. I got the spiciest level and it really is Asian level spicy. Like, I did the "hashshahsha" noise with my mouth. But it was worth the nose drips! My boyfriend got the mild spice and still said that had a lot of spice to it, too so do with that as you will. 10/10!!! read more

So I have a pretty bad obsession with hot pot, and this place really hits the spot until I get my fix in SoCal. It's an easy concept that lets you order a shallow hot pot (on top of a personal stove), with all your favorite ingredients. Yes, you can customize the items in the pot, but the ones that are pre set are already really great. Numbers 1-6 on the menu are personal sized (and you get a free drink with them during lunch). The rest of the higher numbers are much larger and are easily shared with 2. Definitely worth a shot, and totally warms your soul during the cold Texas winters that we (sometimes) have. The ingredients are fresh, and the food is literally cooking in front of you as you eat. Love it. read more
