    Tofu and intestine hot pot
    Em J.

This is a stall located inside 99 ranch food court. It looks like it's affiliated with haidilao, so it could be good if you don't want to wait in line over there. There is a self order kiosk. You have the option to choose your broth, and they have different pre-selected style hotpots to choose from. We went with the stinky tofu, but unfortunately, it was regular tofu, not stinky tofu. The food is still good though as well as the portions! Your order comes with a black tea. They also have interesting fruity drinks on the menu. Service is great. There was only one woman in the front, and she was moving all the time! I would come back and try a different hot pot!

From the moment we arrived, everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely focused on ensuring we had a great experience. The level of hospitality throughout the restaurant was exceptional, and it was clear that customer service is something the team takes great pride in. Dylan was particularly wonderful. He was attentive, professional, and incredibly thoughtful throughout our visit. He consistently went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect and helped create a warm, memorable atmosphere for my sister's birthday. His kindness and attention to detail made us feel truly valued as guests. What impressed us most was how seamlessly the entire team worked together. Every interaction was friendly, efficient, and genuine, creating an experience that felt far beyond a typical restaurant visit. The food was fantastic, but it was the service that made the evening unforgettable. Thank you to Dylan and the whole Haidilao Frisco team for helping create such a memorable celebration. We left with full stomachs, great memories, and will happily return to this branch. Highly recommended!

TOTALLY OVERRATED -- PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES!…read more Unfortunately, my experience at HaiDiLao Hot Pot Frisco was extremely disappointing. I chose the Premium option, which was almost $50, and for that price I expected a much better selection. The meat section was very limited, and the vegetable selection was honestly pitiful. I've been to many Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurants, and this was by far one of my worst experiences--especially considering there is no Korean BBQ included for the price. But my biggest concern was FOOD ALLERGIES. IF YOU HAVE A SERIOUS FOOD ALLERGY, PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL. I have a potentially fatal food allergy, and the setup made me very uncomfortable. The burners and soup bases are positioned right next to each other, creating what I felt was a risk of splashing or cross-contact if the soup base beside mine contained something I'm allergic to. For someone with a life-threatening allergy, that is not something I can take lightly. High prices, limited selections, and an experience that left me worried about my safety made this an easy decision for me. I WILL NOT BE BACK. If you have food allergies, please ask detailed questions about the setup and cross-contact precautions before you eat.

Our waitress was very attentive from the beginning and offered enthusiastic recommendations. Our pork bone broth was delicious and we tried many kinds of meat and add ins, and they were great with sane portions. Didn't really feel like we missed out on anything by not buying the extra charge items and we both filled up quickly. There's little desserts at the sauce bar, and also a few things off the menu. We tried them all and found them neutral overall in flavor; nothing impressive, but still pleasant. The difficult thing about this place is the price. A few $ more than Seapot, but you also have to pay for broth, which can add up to $14 more PER broth, which is why bf and I only got one. So while I'd say this place was very good, Seapot is better value and would be my choice over this place. However, bf and I agreed that this place is definitely a better choice over Hai Di Lao.

The house spicy broth was very spicy and gave me a small bout of diarrhea a few hours later. I will stick to the pork broth next time. We ordered lamb, pork belly, beef belly, and beef tongue. We also ordered squid, octopus, and quail egg. They put a cart by our table to put all our meat and sides on, which was nice. The sauce was alright. They had soy sauce, vinegar, shacha (Chinese bbq) sauce, and sesame oil. My bf did not like the shacha sauce. When one person on the table ordered a (non water) drink, everyone on the table was expected to get one. I just got water though, because all their drinks were sugary.

He checked on us often to make sure we had enough of the unlimited veggies and sauces. He chatted with us and constantly cleared our empty plates. He was the only server, but he was able to take amazing care of every table. He gladly changed the channel so we could watch the hockey playoffs and had us stand in front of the Japanese cherry blossom wall so he could take pictures of us on my phone. 5 out of 5 service It is a beautiful spacious restaurant with booth seating and counter seating (there is also a private room with a tv and a Shabu table set for 20). The tables are already set with plates, utensils, and pots with water and seaweed (kombu) 4 out of 5 for decor and ambiance I wish I could have liked the food more, but here's my honest opinion. I paid extra for spicy miso broth (I think an extra $2.50). They mix spicy miso paste into the water that is already boiling at your table. Even with hot drops, it was disappointingly bland. There are 3 dipping sauces: garlic teriyaki, ponzu (surprisingly sweet which I didn't enjoy), and peanut sauce (again bland). Nice that the sauces are unlimited, too bad they're not delicious tho. There were many choices of meat. I chose choice ribeye. You order by the ounce here so I ordered 8oz. High quality meat for the price. They give you a really small plate of veggies to start, but then if you ask for more (it's unlimited) they give you a giant bowl of spinach, tofu, carrots, mushroom, cabbage, and broccoli. You're also given white rice and your choice of noodle. I chose ramen, but it wasn't your usual ramen noodle. It was a tiny bowl with a handful of super thin noodles that took a long time to cook. 3 out of 5 for food Would I come back here? Yes! There aren't any other Japanese shabu restaurants around AND Sonny was awesome!

If you love heat, this is your place, though I'll probably stick to the milder broths next time. The broth was well-flavored and the meats were excellent quality. Compared to other hot pots, the vegetable selection is a bit more limited, and they offer a variety of paid drinks like milk tea and canned sodas. Pro Tip: Definitely save room for the Korean Shaved Ice. It's light, delicious, and way bigger than it looks in the photos--one was more than enough for me! We will definitely be back soon.

Including drinks and changing the seafood / freezer items was probably one of their best decision ever. While the interior layout remains mostly unchanged, prior to the change I was a little worried about their business because it seemed kind of slow after other new competition opened in the area but I'm happy to see them make changes for the better and thriving. Meat quality is excellent, service is friendly and now they include a homemade shaved ice dessert which is cool. The only unfortunate thing is that they've bumped up their "basic" menu quite a bit and kinda priced me out of what I would call a quick casual go-to meal. While I am happy they are doing well, it's just not a place that I can frequent anymore especially being that my wife doesn't eat that much anyway. Would have been nice to have a slightly lower tier option available as not everyone cares for Wagyu. Definitely still an authentic hot pot experience though!

I love that they stay open real late because most restaurants in this area close at 10. The entrees are huge so you'll have plenty of leftovers to last for a few days lol. All the dishes are packed with flavor, you can't go wrong with anything. The skewers are definitely cooked over some type of coal in the back which gives it a smoky charred flavor you don't usually get on bbq outside of Asia. Definitely reminded me of the bbq in Pakistan. The noodles were my favorite part and the reason I'm itching to go back. The simple umami flavor takes this dish far and I would say it needs nothing more and nothing less. You don't go here for the service, but you do go here for the great food and the ambiance. It seems as though they have a karaoke stage but I don't went during the week so I did not get to see it in action, hopefully I will when I return. We were greeted right away and the restaurant is welcoming with an assortment of booths and some large round tables. The server was friendly and she provided great service throughout our meal. We had the Beef Chow Fun which tasted great and was less oily than versions we have had elsewhere. We also had the combination crispy noodles which were well prepared with tender beef and some great shrimp. We capped it off with the General Tso which was delicious. But the reviews were suspiciously glowing, so curiosity (and hunger) won. We pulled up and I took one look at the building: older, unremarkable, zero curb appeal. Classic "meh." Inside, several large round tables with lazy Susans, red tablecloths, and Chinese lanterns. They first sat us in a booth but I requested later on to be moved to a large round table since we ordered A LOT. But back to when we first sat in the booth - As a Chinese woman, the second I spotted the older seats with ripped upholstery, it hit me like a culinary prophecy: this place was going to serve me some incredible, authentic Chinese food. I don't know what it is, but there's an inverse law of Chinese restaurants: the less fancy the exterior (and the more the booth looks like it's survived several natural disasters), the better the food. Apparently they skip Instagram-worthy renovations and put the budget where it belongs--on the plate! This is now hands down in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurant in North Dallas - I can even say it's on the very top. I haven't forgotten about the staff. They deserve 10 stars. Super nice!
