Also, there are many outlets to charge your phone or other devices. My phone was at 5% so this was a big plus for me, Line is long but moved without delays. I ordered the bbq pulled pork with Zapp's chips and a bottle of water for about $12.50. Sandwich came with mayo and coleslaw. Regular sauce, not spicy. I would try the spicy next time but this has good flavor. Nice meat, not gross and chewy or tough. Overall better than expected for eating at the airport. I would recommend it. read more

The bf and I were unable to grab dinner before heading to the airport, and when we looked at the places to eat, this jumped out. This is a sandwich place, and it has a good selection. The best part about it was that this is TOTALLY affordable, especially at the airport! A large sandwich for about $8?! That's how much a Mickey D's burger costs, and it's not as nearly filling or satisfying! We got the italian, toasted with the works. It was awesome. Since we had a long wait, we considered getting another sandwich for the trip, but instead we got the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies... GOOD CHOICE! Neither one of us are fans of raisins, so we usually shy away from oatmeal cookies, but with chocolate chips?! Bring it on! These cookies are so good! They are soft and chewy and just YUM! I see why everyone is giving this Potbelly high star ratings! While I would normally say that Potbellies are a dime a dozen, this location in Terminal B really stands out. Considering that it's pretty small, the staff are really efficient. I had a grilled chicken and cheese flatbread, which I've had loads of times at other locations, but y'all...the chicken was MOIST, the bread was FRESH, and it was HOT! Perhaps I've had too many lackluster Potbelly experiences in the past, but it was actually a really tasty sandwich. I also tried the chicken pot pie soup, which I was pleasantly surprised by. It was a nice consistency and was flavorful. Considering that the other option in B is Starbucks, I know where I'm coming back to the next time I need breakfast over here! read more

In October 2013, my husband and I stopped at IAD airport on our way to Rome, Italy. We had a 2 hour lay-over before our trans-Atlantic flight, so we grabbed a bite to eat at Potbelly Sandwich Works. It was close to our United Airlines gate. We ordered 2 large sandwiches; can't remember what kind we ordered, but it was very tasty. It is so rare to find a great airport food join! I tried this place while passing through DC due to Yelp and I am so glad I did. I had a meatball sub that was as good of a sandwich as I have had anywhere. The meatballs were tender, deeply favored and nicely spicy. My wife and I popped in for a breakfast bite before our flight. This was our first time at Pot Belly for breakfast. We weren't sure what to expect and at first couldn't even find the breakfast menu. Turns out it is tucked in the corner over by the ordering station. We both selected their bacon and egg sandwich on a bagel. The sandwiches were a little over cooked for my liking but filling for our six hour flight. We regretted not taking up their offer to add sandwich toppings to our meal. This is my 2nd time eating at a Potbelly Sandwich - both times were at an airport. LoL. There's something about a Potbelly sandwich that makes me really happy. Perhaps it's the name or perhaps its just that this airport food is very satisfying to me. How many times have we purchased a quick meal at the airport and regretted eating it? For me, countless times. At some airports (My home airport, San Diego Airport being one of them), I will skip a meal and/or eat a bar instead. This is not the case when I run into a Potbelly Sandwich shop at an airport. My eyes always light up. I ordered the same as last time; Roast beef on wheat with lettuce, tomato, cheese and pickles. So delicious. The bun is soft, small enough where I can easily take a bite into..and very tasty. I like that the bun is soft but flaky enough to give it a little crunch without tearing up the roof of your mouth. It's...perfect. I realize this chain is found outside of airports and all but I'm glad they are there for us travelers. In the two times I've at a Potbelly, I've been very pleased. I'm certainly a fan. read more

I had to fly out of Dulles again tonight but it was a suprisingly smooth experience for once. I pulled into the blue lot and there was an open spot next to the shuttle stop and shuttle passed by a moment later. There was no line at security and I didn't have to use a mobile lounge as I was able to walk to Terminal B. Wow, the universe did not hate me tonight. With all this extra time, I was able to enjoy a leisurely dinner. I recall reading Kevin L.'s Potbelly review recently and thinking, what I wouldn't do for some Potbelly's. Lo and behold, there it was next to my gate. I had my usual Italian (assorted meats and provolone) on white with mayo, oil and Italian Seasonings only - none of that veggie nonsense. What my sandwich lacks in girth is made up in flavor. I had a cup of chili as well which was not as spicy as I hoped but it was enjoyable. Look, Dulles sucks. Once you accept the fact that Dulles sucks, it will suck less. Having said that, these folks do a very good job. Fresh food, smiling faces, and several great areas to sit and watch the miserable travelers go by (those who have not yet accepted the fact that Dulles sucks.) I had a tuna sandwich and chips and a cookie and while it ain't a five star Manhattan sushi place, it did the trick. I ended up starting my journey here and getting a Wreck on wheat for breakfast - I mean, nothing else says good morning like a spicy Italian sandwich, no? The line moved fast, prices consistent with what's going on away from the airport, and the breakfast sandwiches actually were cheaper than any other breakfast I'd seen over there. Did I dare to try the chili this time? No, I did on another trip and I don't think my stomach had the fortitude for it this time. Terminals C&D or notorious for making passengers miserable. It's dark, cramped, and long. On top of that, your food choices are quite limited. Either you settle on fast food or overpriced and mediocre restaurants. This is where Potbelly comes to the rescue. I had a late arriving flight and missed my connection, so United hooked it up with a $10 food voucher. I decided to give Potbelly a chance and was pleasantly surprised. With my voucher, I was able to get a Mediterranean sandwich with chicken, an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, and a bottle of water with some left over. The sandwich had a good variety of ingredients that all came together well. Hummus, feta cheese, and roasted peppers all make it a great choice with the chicken. The fact that they toast is is even better. The cookie is fantastic and is definitely worth it. Very light and chunky. I took it all to go and it lasted me through my 6 hr delay at LAX in the evening, so the sandwich keeps well. Service varies. Sandwich makers seem like they don't like their job too much. The guy behind the counter, who seemed like the owner, was very friendly. You don't see that too much at airport establishments any more. read more

This is my fav place to get food when i'm in the airport for a lot of reasons: 1) It's one of the cheapest options around and the food is portable--eat now or on the plane later 2) The line here is always shorter than 5 Guys 3) The staff is always super friendly 4) I'm a fan of the Wreck --combined with a strawberry banana shake AND one of their killer oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and I'm good to go. Toasted subs, you pick your bread, you can add toppings. I have had the turkey and Swiss and the roast beef when visiting. "Big" is filling. Cafeteria style. Not a huge amount of seating. Airport dining can often be a pain, especially if you are a frequent traveler. You often end up settling for fast food, or simply paying the ridiculously high rates for slightly above average foods like Chili's. Thankfully, there seems to be an influx of more affordable dining options in the past couple years. Potbelly brings decent food to hungry travelers without killing their wallet. Ive been to Potbelly several times in the Minneapolis area and it never disappoints. We had this chain before we had Jimmy Johns or Firehouse, so it was clearly the best option for sandwich shops at that time. It exceeds the taste and quality of Subway by miles--almost to the point where it's unfair to compare. They toast their subs much like they do at Quizno's, but Ive always given the edge to Potbelly in quality and flavor. You get the same quality at the airport that you would in the regular restaurant. It's definitely not a bad option. The roast beef is my favorite and they also make tasty shakes. I do think, however, that the product is somewhat small. If you have a big appetite you may want to consider that. Also, I would definitely avoid buying drinks there because they are pretty pricey as youd expect at the airport. Overall though, if you typically are satisfied with a regular sized sandwich, then this is as good of a deal as you will find at the airport without settling for McDonald's. Whenever I see one of these listed on a map at an airport, I instantly breathe a sigh of relief. I know I can get fresh flavorful food, and in an airport. The prices aren't far off from regular on the street (though usually drinks are hiked up, but hey, you're inside the TSA maze, you won't be getting much of anything cheap). Not to mention the added humor of ordering a Wreck as you move through the line. So get in line, pick a sandwich, and chow down, because unless you're lucky enough to be flying JAL, this is going to be the last good tasting thing you get for a few hours. read more

I used to go to this shop when I worked in the area. Nothing out of the spectacular but they are very efficient. When you want something to eat you come here and they do it quick! They also invite music artists here playing guitars and singing. The ambiance is definitely very relaxing and it distinguishes itself from other shops (for this reason I rated them high). Is this a chain store? I'd never heard of Potbelly coming from Cali but the Italian sandwich here was easily one of the best toasted sandwiches I've ever had. Comparable to Quiznos in terms of layout and target customer but vastly superior in taste. You have two size options: Regular 6" ($5.15) or Bigs 9" ($6.55) and can add extra meat ($0.75), double meat ($2.00), and bacon ($1.25) amongst others. Regardless of what sandwich you select, the hot peppers are an absolute MUST. They make the sandwich. And for you non-spicy eaters, they're really mild - best described as tangy with a sharp kick at the end. If you've added every single extra and are still somehow hungry (or are just bored with a long layover and eat to kill time like me), they have amazing hand-spun ice cream sandwiches ($3.00) and shakes (yet to try but delicious according to the pilot I conversed with). Grilled chicken sandwich on wheat with bacon added is perfect. The salad with fruit is as well. To get a good salad with fresh veggies and chicken for under $10 at an airport is amazing. We went with balsamic dressing which is a bit thick but works well with the salad. Grab a sandwich and go have se wine at vino volo. The chicken sandwich bread was toasted perfectly, unlike subway. Yes, Jake is right. As I depart for faraway lands in terminal B, the familiar smell and taste of Potbelly is comforting. It's just like the ones downtown or in MD or VA-- fast service and even at 6am, fairly friendly people. This place is especially nice when you can resist eating in the terminal and unwrap your sammy at 30,000 feet. Make the other people in your row jealous!! I don't think this Potbelly has salads, but I could be wrong. I never asked. It's more tidy to have a sandwich on a plane anyway. read more
