I went through the drive through which was very convenient and had no line. The staff was friendly, nice, and quick. The menu was nice and easy to read. Very disappointing! I placed a catering order from this Kingwood location to be delivered to a church, a few miles away. I received a call 45 mins after it was supposed to be delivered saying something about waiting on a delivery service. Needless to say, the food was probably cold and very late arriving. I came here with my son. The wife was out with the girls - so we decided to stop in and have dinner. I noticed new items on the menu. The young lady told me that the Kingwood store is. Test site for new product. So I tried the Pizza Melt. I made the mistake to ask for extra red sauce. I did not realize that the sandwich was already big. The extra sauce made the meal very messy. I also got peppers, onion, mushrooms, and Italian seasoning. All in all - the sandwich was fantastic. Like I said - messy, but my fault. Next tine - light on the sauce and enjoy! I came to the window and she threw my receipt away right after I paid and shut the window without asking me if I wanted it or before I could say a word. I stopped patronizing after a "last straw" incident. I put up with the pick em odds of competent service, I also let the decrease in cleaning tables, floor go as a challenge due to staffing. However, when I came by on an occasion and see a manager and an employee sitting at a table talking as I walk up at 4:15 pm on a weekday and try to open the door to find it locked and no sign stating new hours nor did the manager even look up to say we're closed or will open later nothing. We were excited to order Potbelly for the first time this past weekend. Unfortunately, our experience went south between DoorDash missing items and the manager not taking any responsibility. We ordered directly from the Potbelly website thinking the delivery would not be a third party. We were charged for a $50+ order that never came. Told to follow up with DoorDash on our end and that Potbelly had no responsibility. After we had DoorDash rectify the issue and have a new order sent, it now arrived with 2 sandwiches missing. In the follow up call to the manager, I was told they could not refund me the approx. $10 for our missing kids sando's. Here's where the 4star rating finallly comes in. After a 2 1/2 hour ordeal from ordering to final delivery, less 2 sandwiches, the manager offered to ask her regional manager if anything could be done. She called back with the ok to comp our entire meal. I only wanted the $10 credit and but she insisted. Things happen. Service Industry overall and Food Service can be pretty thankless. I get it. So I wanted to recognize our local Potbelly by ultimately doing the right thing. It means a lot. We will order again. We would have been back with a $10 credit. Seriously. If you have empathy for your customer, you'll be surprised (we've all been there) you'll gain a loyal patron. Thank you! read more

I was on a way to an appointment for my baby and happened to be passing by, in a rush I went through the drive thru, when I went to pay all I had was a couple $100 bills and they said they would be unable to accept my $100 and only if I spent $50 would they be able to take it. I was then turned away after the employee talked with his manger about the situation asking if they could make an exception, I left the resturant with no food and now running late to my appointment while waiting for the situation to be sorted out. Honestly so horrible to turn away a mom with a baby willing to pay for her food just because "we dont usually accept big bills" they could have easily made change( it was close to 2pm) just disappointed will not be going back!!!!!! read more

Walked in, stood at the menu for a bit to decide what I wanted, went to the counter where sign states "order here" 3 people in the area: NOTHING; walked down a bit, had chips in hand, eye contact: NOTHING; looked over at register to what seems 2 workers & a lady selling signs conversation, eye contact: NOTHING!!! Counted how many people behind the counter: 7!!! Nothing, then 5 minutes later: "Have you been helped?!" First I want to say love potbelly and I'm excited we have one in kingwood finally. But this location is the worst. Ever. I've been to potbelly restaurants all across the country and I've never seen such slow and awkward customer service as they have here. If you order inside its slow and awful service. You go up to the ordering station and they make 10 sandwiches infront of you without taking your order. That's when you realize they are making sandwiches for the drive through. They have a guy who puts the toppings on who's really awkward. If you order in the drive through its even slower and more awful. Every single time you pull up to order they say "please wait a few minutes for us to take your order." THIS IS THE WORST!!!! Never ever should any restaurant EVER tell you to wait to order at a drive through. Like it would be better if you didn't even have a drive thru. So I'm sitting there waiting to order a black Cadillac pulls up behind me. Waits about 3 minutes then gives up and drives off. A Honda pulls up behind me and waits 3 minutes then drives off. Then finally I get to order. Y'all lost 2 car fulls of customers bc you took so long to take my order!! STUPID. At least if you let all of us order then we feel obligated to wait for the food and you wouldn't lose any business. Plus the seating inside this place is so awkward. Absolutely fantastic sandwiches. The bread is soft and delicious. They put a good amount of meat on their sandwhiches. I love that they heat up their sandwiches.
