Stopped by on a Sunday for breakfast. Let me start off by saying that the cafe de olla is the BEST! I was torn between trying the chilaquiles and pozole. The waitress suggested I get the chilaquiles and a kids size pozole. I told her to surprise me with the sauce (green or red) she said I didn't have to choose, I can get half of each. I loved how accommodating they were in what I wanted. Some restaurants aren't. The chicken pozole and the chilaquiles were pretty fantastic. My husband had a torta de milanesa. He enjoyed it immensely. My little girl wanted pancakes, which they don't serve. Again, our waitress suggested something, a delicious grilled sweet roll with strawberry jam. Disappointed with the pozole - which I found SO ordinary. Torta okay but low quality bread. Barrio atmosphere. Inside unpleasant. Patio looks nice but there are muchas moscas. They don't clear away empty plates from abandoned tables - and thus the flies are everywhere. If this were my place - I would keep that patio immaculate, always bussed, and add some fans to get rid of the flies... I came here last week with a group of 8 and was a bit disappointed with their customer service. We all really enjoyed the food especially the pozole so I decided to bring my husband and kids here too. So, you walk in and no one greets you. Went in there with high expectations based on yelp reviews, but ended up finding a hair on my food, and an outrageous $7.25 "agua de fresa", which had more natural water flavor than strawberry. Waitress just took my chilaquiles and asked if i wanted a new dish, i said no as i was disgusted by the hair amd the food wasnt good. To top it off, they didnt give me a break on the chilaquiles with hair, paid full price of $16.25. I didnt ask for a compensation for the hair, just paid the bill and left.
