This place is fantastic. Went this morning with my wife and neither one of us had been there before. Very friendly staff and the food is absolutely delicious. Wife got chilaquiles with red sauce and scrambled eggs, I got the huevos poche with nopales. It was phenomenal. Good amount of spice in the chile verde sauce they put over the eggs and the nopales were cooked perfectly. I also couldn't come here and not get a bowl of pozole. Very good. It was a great experience from the staff to the food. And the OJ is freshly squeezed. You have to give it a try. Highly recommend it. read more

Came here to eat with my family, and my husband and mother in law ordered the same enchiladas verdes. My husband's first plate of enchiladas had a hair in it. The second attempt had a piece of plastic wrap in one of the enchiladas. This place has great food and it's been a long time favorite for the past year! All servers deliver great service, however this place gets three stars because the owner has the worst customer service. I asked for "enchiladas campesinas" but all cheese instead of chicken. The owner was the cook and when I received my food they the enchiladas were all chicken. I asked the server if she could make them how I asked and she was kind enough to take them back and re do them. Minutes later she comes out and saying the owner said he can't re do them and instead is "giving me free cheese" so I can fix them myself...Ridiculous! The food here was really good. They give you huge servings. And the service is awesome. I had the enchiladas a la mexicana they came with 3 over stuffed enchiladas my breakfast plate also included cafe de la olla and a choice of fruit juice or fruit itself. All for 14 dollars. The food is delicious! Seriously so yummy! I have to complaints which is the reason for 4 stars and not 5. 1) the place is small so they only have 1 waitress, so I can understand that the attentiveness is not there however it was aggravating. 2) my food was cold....and I have to wait 10min to have the waitress come by to tell her. She didn't check up on my table once, didn't offer me water nothing. HOWEVER, That won't stop me from coming back, the food it to die for. I got the something similar to enchiladas except for the enchilada sauce it had a yummy bean sauce! With chorizo and cream! Ahhhh it was so delish! I was actually waiting for this place to open for quite some time and Im glad someone opened a Mexican style cenaduria in Santa Ana. I've only been there once but thats gonna change real quick. There menu consist of pozole, tortas, sandwiches, tostadas de pata and lomo, enfrijoladas, cafe de olla, licuados ,aguas frescas and a variety of desserts. Well I ended up choosing the pozole and it was great and very filling. Before I review my meal, let me please take a moment to reflect on how amazingly delicious it was. :) I have had this place bookmarked forever, but have always been hesitant to suggest to my husband. He's Mexican, has high food standards, and probably a little more critical of Mexican food than any other type. This morning I took a chance. Glad I did. I ordered chilaquiles verdes, but got rojos instead. A simple and delectable mistake. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection. The tortilla chips stayed nice and crispy for quite awhile. The beans were delicious. The red sauce was amazing!!! My meal came with bread, coffee (I declined), and juice (I ordered a 2nd glass.) And did I mention the orange juice is freshly squeezed??? My husband ordered huevos poche with nopales and a small bowl of pozole and loved them both. I was relieved and proud that I was able to find a Mexican restaurant that would impress him. The enchilada sauce is super spicy just the way I like it and they come with lettuce, queso, and crema on top. The cafe de la olla is bomb too...
