My cat (Stoney) almost seemed like she didn't even want to return home with me, lolz. (very unlike her) From the moment i entered the cat luxury hotel, and gave my fur brat to Pounce, i had no worries at all. Erin and Boretta the owners of Pounce Hawaii gave me the clarity that my cat will be taken care of. Not only did Pounce update me throughout the day about my cats whereabouts but they even took phenomenal photos of my Stoney girl playing with the other cats. I liked how Stoney was interacting with the other cats as well as getting her aerobics and playtime in, it just goes to show that she was active and very content. Besides my fur brat getting her needs met w/playtime, the room alone for the cats, are very spacious and neat! i very much like the cleanliness and knowing that i won't ever have to deal with fleas or ticks, lolz. We booked a Vegas trip for the month of May back in March, then we discovered in April our cat, Black Bear, was severely diabetic. Unfortunately, the trip was nonrefundable, but fortunately, we found Pounce Hawaii. They had no problem administering Black Bear's insulin after being fed twice a day, and we arranged to have a photo texted to us once a day. The photo brought so much joy, comfort, and relief knowing Black Bear was happy and well-cared for. They have eased my cat worries by sending me pictures of my cat every single day, and was very organized with the payment and information needed for my cat's stay. I had to board my cat, Salem, pretty last minute because we had a plumbing issue that needed to be taken cared of and I was leaving to fly back home for thanksgiving. We also didn't know whether we'd be able to actually pick up my cat on Friday afternoon because that's when the plumber was scheduled to come but didn't know how long it was gonna take. They allowed him to stay one more night after we found it'd be longer then expected and my boyfriend was able to pick him Saturday morning. This was my Peanut's first time at Pounce. I live in Kakaako and was driving by one day. There are adorable cats painted in the side of their building. Right next to Waikiki brewing on Queen Street. I met with Erin prior to Peanut's stay and she gave me a one on one tour, so clean and organized! The accommodations are nicer than some hotels I've stayed in! I picked up Peanut this morning and, although she was upset with me for leaving her, she was quick to "tell" me she was well taken care of. I cant say enough good things about pounce. I take my kitten here once a month for a nail trim, bath, and teeth cleaning just to ensure I am doing a thorough job at home and they make my kitty feel so safe and secure anytime she comes. This was my fifth time coming and shes always purring upon return to me. As far as the service goes from the groomers, they always complete the grooming in the time they say they will and kitty comes back to me clean and smelling fresh! they also do a really good job at checking in to let me know if they recommend any other services and when kitty will be ready. This place is a bit more pricey compared to other places you could take your cat for grooming but I do not think anywhere compares to having my kitty feel safe and secure after a grooming session and actually being excited to see the groomers! read more

I've just adopted my kitten several months ago and was looking to socialize him with others. I decided to give this place a try and was not disappointed. I've mainly worked with Boretta and she takes fantastic care of my cat. She's has been very knowledgeable and patient with my questions in regards to my cat and his behavior. I have dropped my cat off for daycare multiple times and each time he's been coming home exhausted from all the playing and attention. Boretta was nice enough to show me the boarding rooms as well which were clean and spacious. They were full of toys and amenities. It's great that the area is clean, and in addition they have a bird cage right outside the play area to provide visual stimulation for the cats. I'm extremely happy to have gone here and will continue to do so. read more

Extremely bad phone system. The first phone call to "book" for appointment went smooth we all know why it went fast and smooth ($$ lol). Then few days later they attempted to call me but I was busy and did not pick up the phone call but I literally called back less than a minute and no one picked up the phone and I went through their crazy phone system which took 5mins. After, i never gotten a return call. The next day was the same rinse and repeat. So you know i understand people are busy but literally less a min I tried to call back and no one available? When I have to book for an appointment the return call is super fast huh? lol read more

Ringworm and denial of it: Beware. This is a serious and candid review of a public health issue with Pounce Hawaii. Specifically their vehement denial of our two kittens' recent stay at their cat hotel causing Ringworm in both of them. Our kittens boarded at Pounce Hawaii for a week and were returned to us with Ringworm, which is infectious, easily transmissible to humans, and difficult to eradicate. To make things worse, I saw a new Ringworm looking formation on our 3yo daughter today. After review of her skin by her Physician, the doctor advised we start medication for Ringworm ASAP. We didn't notice the Ringworm immediately in our kittens since we picked them up around 3:30PM last Sat Oct 3 in a travel box assuming all was okay. It wasn't. Ringworm was well-formed and thriving on our kittens. According to consultation with our veterinarian clinic, Ringworm usually incubates for a week or more before symptoms emerge, or as quickly as within a few days but not within a matter of hours as in our case. It was not a pre-existing condition. Our kittens are 100% indoor and Ringworm has never been an issue in our lives. I have dated pictures within a matter of hours to show what our kittens' faces looked like after picking them up from Ringworm infested Pounce Hawaii. Of note, Pounce Hawaii recently announced there was a Ringworm outbreak at their facility. They since assured us they sanitized everything and all was good to go. We trusted them. Unfortunately it wasn't, and likely still isn't. Truly think twice and beware. Now we are dealing with expensive medical bills for our kittens and more bills on the way to treat our 3yo daughter. I'm concerned we may all get it despite isolating the kittens in the bathroom and doing our best to disinfect our house. It was so disheartening when I called Pounce and they instantly denied having any responsibility. They stated they would've seen it and called us. They stated they sterilized the facility, etc. Our vet clinic stated that despite "sterilization," Ringworm pores travel in the air and in many other ways, and are very hard to fully eradicate despite one's best efforts. Pounce Hawaii basically said good luck. Knowing how Ringworm is contracted and the delayed incubation period before symptoms emerge, along with Pounce Hawaii's admitted recent Ringworm outbreak, I fully believe and am concerned that our kittens and now our family and finances are dealing with this issue. Bottom line: This is a public health Issue that should be investigated, which I hope will happen, with adoption and boarding practices stopped for the safety and protection of all felines and humans alike. Shame on them for prioritizing profit over public safety, and neglecting appropriate responsibility and accountability. read more

My kitten Mocha got a slight cold and had some symptoms - Pounce Hawaii immediately contacted to me while I was out of island and tried their hardest to make an appointment to the clinic (where we usually take him for check up) and continued his medication till the end of his stay..! Pounce is an amazing place! My 8 year-old son had been asking for a pet kitten for at least a year or two. We always put him off of the idea, thinking that it wasn't the right time for us. A few months ago my husband and I warmed up to the idea, though neither of us had ever owned a cat. I came across Pounce and scheduled a cat lounge visit for me and my son. We had a great time and received a lot of useful advice from Boretta. The visit solidified our decision to adopt. The caregivers at PH were extremely accommodating with out plans to board our cat for a week. On our check-in date, our cat had an emergency health issue in which we needed to postpone our check-in time in order to take our cat to the vet. We were able to check her in four hours after our scheduled time and they were also able to accommodate her last-minute diet changes. I can't even begin to express how amazing Pounce Hawaii is. This is the first time our cat has ever experienced a place like this, but we will DEFINITELY be back. Peaches can be a bit of an anti-social/anxious cat, but Erin and Boretta really took the time to get her acclimated and comfortable in her new surroundings. Not only that, but they also sent text and photo updates every day so we knew exactly how Peaches was doing during her stay. You can tell that these women truly love and care for each and every kitty that comes through their door as if they were their own. Aside from the 5 star service, their facility is absolutely beautiful. We scheduled termite fumigation a few months ago; unfortunately, the date fell in throes of COVID-19 craziness. Our regular sitter needed to leave Oahu to care for elderly parents, so I Yelped "cat boarding" and found this lovely gem in Kakaako. TBH, I called 3 places with the best reviews and went with the first to call me back. Very happy the way things turned out. The photos are exactly what you get: a clean, airy spa for kitties. The staff walks visitors through the corridors of suites, and guests can watch you pass from the comfort of their furniture through the glass doors. No cramped cages here. All I needed to bring with the cats: their food and something scented with familiar smells (I brought T-shirts that were worn, but not washed). I booked separate rooms for my cats because Malph (15 pound cat) would murder Sasha (7 pounder) if left to his own devices. I also booked a bath for Malph to wash off the litter dust from home. He chooses to roll in clean litter whenever his box is changed. When I left them, Malph was comfortably ensconced in the kitty cubicle (private "room within a room"). Sasha doesn't like boarding so she sat in her carrier; when she returns, she's usually quite vocal about every complaint about the conditions she endured while she was away. Not this time; she was her sweet, mellow self when she returned home. Malph was quite spiffy after his bath. Both received nail trims, too. Boretta and Erin gave me a full report about the cats' diet, health (bowel movements, pet owners will understand) and behavior during their stay. I requested Malph be allowed in the communal playroom by himself, because murdering the resident kitties is rude. If your cats are sociable, they can play with two gentlekitties in the large playroom. I left with souvenir photos of Sasha & Malph. Whenever we need to board our cats, I'll call Pounce Hawaii. read more

I boarded my cat Weasel for about a week to visit family. We live in an apartment building and it seemed like a big hassle to have someone come and feed him in the morning and night, and put his #2 in the toilet everyday! He also has kitty anxiety so he would just hide anyway. At Pounce, he had a nice cozy small room to do that in. They were very attentive to his needs and responsive to me.
