Had luck here in past with boarding! Use to board and get cats hair cuts and shampooed. Dropped off for a hair cut groom a day ago. After booking appointment on phone after a cancel to reschedule phone call I ran into a schedule confusion on their end. I made a 3 minute phone call to reschedule and a date and time was picked and confirmed. Then a message was left 3 minutes or so later from a team member acting like the 3 minute reschedule phone call never happened. I did not see the message due to my busy schedule and when i did i assumed the phone call person put on schedule as i had done in my i phone calendar live on phone with an alarm. When i arrived no one answered phone or text. During this time one of two cats did a number 2 in crate. Once i got a hold of them they said no appointment. I told them i drove 2 hrs from north shore for appointment. Basically 4 hrs round trip! So they said sense i'm a good customer they would do a complimentary 1 night boarding. I accepted big mistake. I offered to clean the crate and rinse cat off that went #2. They said not to worry! I said thank you! They waited 1 hr than texted they were going to throw crate away because it could not be cleaned. They said they'd sell me a new one. I declined said i'd drive back to pick it up and clean myself. So add 2 more hrs driving. I cleaned with sprayer and water in 6 minutes or less. Looked brand new since #2 was still not dry. Annoyed i said make cat haircuts 30 minutes each and do what you can in 30 min each cat otherwise skip and do shampoo brush only. Later way later said impossible that they did one cat at like 60 minutes when i said no. Than was charged a spicy cat fee for one that went number 2 and charged multiple wash fee for that cat. No brush nothing special just some lame work for that cat! That was $55 dollars. So basically tried to up charge on a carrier when mine was brand new and did me dirty on their invoice game! To top it off i said i'd return the same day as drop off day to just get the cats and that i was over it and id pay for 1 bath of cat that went #2. They said I'd have to be there by 5 pm. They waited until i was in Pali tunnel than said never mind come tomorrow at a time i drop my daughter off in Hauula 2 hrs away! They knew that ! My daughter is 2 days out training for a horse jumping competition and they could not have derailed our schedule any better. About 9 hrs total in car! The one cat got a decent haircut/shampoo but i was forced into after trying to cancel do to my annoyance of having me drive 2 more hrs to get the crate. Being how expensive a good crate is I'm glad i drove back and got it. Being so annoyed I found a new groomer to do same hair cut and bath for what they charge just for a long hair cat bath. Not impressed. Also found better pricing on boarding for future. I'd give more stars on boarding but not grooming. 1 star for grooming. Girls that work there are nice but definitely something off with owners! Real bummer never had issues boarding but after this fiasco I realized their grooming prices are double other places. So in response the carrier was washed with a hose not a pressure washer could have been done with same hose you use to wash cat or wipes / paper towel! You said you did not have availability for me to pick up but told me to get there by 5 pm than waited till i was on pali to cancel. I love the gentle response you put here like your just void of responsibility. I filed a complaint with chase credit cards on what went down. They will follow up and they have the text tread to recapture the over charges. Got the cat you say is spicy hair cut / shampoo same as other cat and price was $125 and honestly it's a better cut/ job. So that's $125 total. If any ones read this far look at the photos attached of the invoice. Place is not a bad place to board but i'd never recommend getting their other services. Staff is nice but haircut shampoo etc is way over priced. just google cat grooming and do your due diligence and don't be fooled by this eloquently clever response to gas light. Thanks for reading hope this helps you make a educated decision. Also they get you on the pick up times with your incoming return flight. They strong arm you for one more night. Enjoy that. Oh gosh where do I begin? The short story is Pounce has my 3 felines this weekend.... I picked them up yesterday.... after a 4 night 5 star feline hotel visit. Here is my story: I usually have my cats under control at home or cat boarding at my veterinarian's location when I travel. but shucks! I wasn't lucky this past weekend. The other side of the coin is I was lucky because I found Pounce. A couple points 1. a walking distance to my office 2. pricing comparable to what my vet would charge 3. please environment for my felines 4. easy drop off easy pick up 5. daily follow up with pics of my felines from Pounce 6. comprehensive schedule of their stay; to and including when they use the bathroom... go figure! 7. they can/will administer meds if need be (one of my girls has asthma) My felines while happy to return home with me were treated with kindness and care. I will always go to Pounce from now on. Now then, the facility- clean, climate and air controlled facilities. I went to the Queen Street location and parking was easy. Right in front. You will need to call them when you get there. The doors are closed (for obvious reasons) and one of the gals will come out to get you. Same process on the way out! They have your fur babies all packed up and ready to go. Call them and they will wheel them out to your car!!! Sadly, I won't be boarding my felines at my vet any more as I'm so pleased with Pounce. Imagine! My own vet who cares for my fur babies want to charge you all sorts of things to board. Forget that; especially since my felines were not strangers to the vet clinic. But now! my felines are no longer strangers to Pounce. A definite must try if you have felines to board!

Most fabulous cat groomers in town. This time I Took my cats there for a quick nail trim $25 nice and easy, super quick. I was in and out of there in less than 15 minutes for two cats. But, you must schedule ahead of time and have your flea treatments up to date.

Gaige loves her stays at Pounce! She loves her private villa suite with a window so she can look outside and she loves how well Dee and the staff take care of her. Not sure she loves getting a bath, but she comes home clean, fluffy and smelling great! Highly recommended to all

Very pleased with their service! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They kept in contact with me and even sent a picture of my fur baby! I had to drive around the block twice before I found the place but once I did....it was a pleasure doing business with them!

We were not looking to adopt a cat today, we just wanted to play with them. I was quite impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. They had 15 cats, all available for adoption. They make the process fun and easy. The staff is super helpful and check in with information about each cat to help you make a thoughtful choice. They also have a boarding facility which we will be trying out next week. I love that the boarded cats each have their own private room, with a window view, rather than being in stacked cages. Looking forward to updating this review after our boarding experience.

My Fiancé and I had an amazing experience. Please take the time to read, so it may help you decide to visit this great place. We scheduled a day before via their website. It does require you to pay as you book your appointment. Which is no big deal. There is an option to add a small baggie of treat or catnip to your visit. Totally up to you. They are also very clear on their rules when visiting their cat/kitty lounge. Literally less than an hour later of scheduling, I missed a call from Pounce, Sophie left a voicemail letting us know that they had only 2 kittens left in their facility(As I was booking, there had been about 5/6), and if we wanted to keep or reschedule. Which was extremely appreciated, because we wanted options. I meant to call them back...but it slipped my mind. So I decided to call early the day of the appointment. Day of appointment...it slipped my mind again to call. But, THANKFULLY, we received a call from Sophie and she informed us that one of the two kittens might be adopted. She suggested that we come in the following Friday/ Sat. We were able to reschedule on that very call. Day of the rescheduled appointment., We were running behind. But gave them a quick call to let them know we were going to be 10 minutes late, which is fine. But do keep in mind you have a time limit. The kitties need rest before the next appointment. At arrival, we called them so they could let us in. Sophie was there and helped set us up with the cat lounge. Btw, you need socks to enter the lounge area. Be prepared! But if you are not, you may purchase from them. We were also offered complimentary drinks, such as water, tea or coffee. We were left alone with the kittens. The facility was bright and colorful. There were lot of toys for you to use to play with the kittens. The room was also pretty spacious. Lots of space for the kittens to run around. We were unbothered as we got to interact with the kittens and learn more about their personalities. Towards the end of our reserved time, the staff asked if we had any questions or interest in any of the kittens. Out of the kittens we played with, one kitten stood out the most. Only because he came to us at the VERY last minute, wanting pets from both my Fiancé and I...at the same time. He won our hearts. The adoption process was fairly easy and took about 10 minutes. You do go over the health history of the kitten, waivers, and payment. You have the option to purchase accessories and necessities for the kitty. They have food, litter, toys and collars. We bought catnip spray. Best thing ever! They also give you a pet "taxi" box to bring your new furry family member back home. We went about a year ago from this review. We will definitely be returning when we are ready to add another kitty to the family. 5 stars for the experience and another 5 stars for introducing us to our loving Bucky!

I recently adopted a 10-month old cat from the Humane Society and wanted to have her professionally groomed. The website and photos of Pounce Hawai'i made me feel like it's a great place to bring her for a spa treatment. The communication with the staff was easy via texts and we were able to get an appointment set up quickly. On the day of the appointment, both Luna and I were nervous about how this would turn out. An hour later, Luna was returned clean & shiny. She got home and continued grooming herself with no signs of distress. Looking forward to more pampering at Pounce!

So cute!!! For $15 you get 75 minutes to play with the kittens (plus a complementary drink) and they're all so adorable and friendly. I came here with the intention to adopt and I think this is a really great way to get a feel for which cat is right for you. Though they were a little short staffed, the employees and volunteers were really helpful in answering my questions and guiding me through the adoption process. I'm very grateful to pounce Hawaii and the humane society for helping me find the best little kitten in the world!

I found Pounce Hawaii via Google search. It looked good, clean, cute cats and rooms. Boarded our cat in May 2022 for 4 nights but had to leave her for 5 nights because they have strict drop off and pick up times. Our flight arrived back home at 12:25 pm on the 4th day but they wouldn't allow us to pick her up until the next morning and charged us for that night. Picked her up the next morning and noticed they had over charged us which they recognized after I brought it to their attention. We paid in advance, in full, then charged us again when we picked her up! During the trip they charged us $10 to send us a picture of her, $10 per photo!!! When we picked her up she ended up meowing non-stop for almost 3 days straight and didn't come out of her room. It was so bad we ended up calling the vet. We have boarded her before multiple times at The Cat's Meow Inn in Kailua and she's never acted like this when she got home! They were our first choice but due to a family emergency they were not available. We've recently traveled and boarded our cat back at The Cat's Meow Inn for 4 nights and no issues with her when she got home. Plus I receive a photo of her everyday, with no extra charge. The cost at Pounce Hi is almost double than what we pay at The Cat's Meow Inn!! I won't board her again at Pounce as it was a very traumatic experience for her. The photos they sent don't show what her room looked like, just her cowering in the back of a cube. Very disappointing!

There have been a few times I went out of town and needed to put up my cat Hugo in a pet hotel. Hugo is a 10 year old cat. He is a sweet cuddly kitty if he likes you but he can also be a grumpy old man. He loves the girls at Pounce. They are both kind and friendly and seem to work well with him. It's always super stressful for an animal being out of their own home and in a strange place. But the girls at Pounce make sure he is as comfortable as he can be, and they even check in with me to let me know how he's doing. They send text updates, and even will call and send you photos of your pet if you request it. I love this. It really goes to show how much they not only care about your pet, but also you as the owner. The rooms the cats stay in are clean and spacious enough for a temporary stay. Easy to book online and someone will call you to confirm the drop off/pickup time. Make sure your pet is up to date in their shots/vaccines. This ensures the safety of your pet and the safety of other animals who might be in the facility. I highly recommend Pounce Hawaii to anyone needing to book their cat for a few nights.

Pounce is a wonderful establishment. It was spotless inside and out. I'm not kidding when I say this is the cleanest cat lounge I have ever been to in my life. The cats are very relaxed and happy. The have both kittens and adults. The cats are also very clean, and well taken care of. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you have. They take safe measures for Covid. And safety for the cats as well, such as no foot wear in the cat lounge and socks required so no one's 'toe beans' get squished. (It's all the attention to detail that really got me) They are a cat hotel, so if you need someone to watch your fur baby while you're away or having work done to your home they can accommodate you. Pounce also offers spa/grooming services. Inside the shop they feature cat toys, treats, odd and ends that are produced by independent local artists and are just so adorable. And also have all the supplies you need if you do decide to adopt from your lounge experience. Women founded and owned. (Excellent job!) Highly highly recommend!

Ive been to pounce on 2 separate occasions, I boarded my cat ollie there and I felt very comfortable leaving him here and I knew he was well cared for! We got photos and texts from him and It made me 10x happier. another occasion where I visited pounce was adopting a new kitty, luckily for me I had the entire room to myself to hang out with all the kitties, the staff were incredibly friendly and the adoption process was so smooth and i got to take my kitty home that same day! My cat (Stoney) almost seemed like she didn't even want to return home with me, lolz. (very unlike her) From the moment i entered the cat luxury hotel, and gave my fur brat to Pounce, i had no worries at all. Erin and Boretta the owners of Pounce Hawaii gave me the clarity that my cat will be taken care of. Not only did Pounce update me throughout the day about my cats whereabouts but they even took phenomenal photos of my Stoney girl playing with the other cats. I liked how Stoney was interacting with the other cats as well as getting her aerobics and playtime in, it just goes to show that she was active and very content. Besides my fur brat getting her needs met w/playtime, the room alone for the cats, are very spacious and neat! i very much like the cleanliness and knowing that i won't ever have to deal with fleas or ticks, lolz. We booked a Vegas trip for the month of May back in March, then we discovered in April our cat, Black Bear, was severely diabetic. Unfortunately, the trip was nonrefundable, but fortunately, we found Pounce Hawaii. They had no problem administering Black Bear's insulin after being fed twice a day, and we arranged to have a photo texted to us once a day. The photo brought so much joy, comfort, and relief knowing Black Bear was happy and well-cared for. Boretta, part-owner of Pounce Hawaii, and her staff did an excellent job of caring for our high maintenance cat and we highly recommend them. read more

The best hotel for your cats!!!! I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation enough for Pounce Hawaii. They have eased my cat worries by sending me pictures of my cat every single day, and was very organized with the payment and information needed for my cat's stay. My cat can be very shy toward strangers but I could tell he easily warmed up to his aunties at Pounce Hawaii. He must've been so disappointed to be picked up at the end of his stay ahaha. I had to board my cat, Salem, pretty last minute because we had a plumbing issue that needed to be taken cared of and I was leaving to fly back home for thanksgiving. We also didn't know whether we'd be able to actually pick up my cat on Friday afternoon because that's when the plumber was scheduled to come but didn't know how long it was gonna take. They allowed him to stay one more night after we found it'd be longer then expected and my boyfriend was able to pick him Saturday morning. I am so thankful for Erin and Boretta for taking care of our baby during what I would assume is a busy weekend. We also opted for photos while he was there. read more

This was my Peanut's first time at Pounce. I live in Kakaako and was driving by one day. There are adorable cats painted in the side of their building. Right next to Waikiki brewing on Queen Street. I met with Erin prior to Peanut's stay and she gave me a one on one tour, so clean and organized! The accommodations are nicer than some hotels I've stayed in! I picked up Peanut this morning and, although she was upset with me for leaving her, she was quick to "tell" me she was well taken care of. I've already made my reservation for the next time we go out of town, Erin and Boretta will take care of your babies just like you do! read more

Another purrrfect stay (second time!) at Pounce for my shy kitty Archie! Everyday was a sweet adventure (daily photos!) full of lots of special attention. He loved playing with aunties Hannah and Boretta, people watching from his window with auntie Maile, and enjoying a spa treatment (bath, ear cleaning, and face cleaning). Im so glad i found this place. It's hard to go on out of state vacations while living in Hawaii. This place is excellent - from inquiring about services to quotes to a tour of their facility. They are so nice and informative. They clearly described their facility, protocol and services. I love that they have a grooming option and so many add-ons that make the care personalized for each customers needs. I feel more at ease that my ‍ baby girl will enjoy her vacation as much as i can relax and enjoy mine! Can't wait for my first trip in August. read more

Our 10 year old cat was diagnosed with feline diabetes several weeks ago. He needs insulin injections twice a day and blood glucose monitoring. Pounce accommodated all of our cat's medical needs and the facilities were excellent. Boretta and staff were terrific. This allowed us to take a long planned and mostly paid for trip without worry. An unequivocal five stars. read more

My long haired Persian never liked grooming until she went to Pounce Hawaii! She loves it - baths; hair cuts; dematting - they did it all! They went over and above and Harley came home so happy - normally she would hide under the bed after a groom day but she never hid - and had some bounce in her step for the rest of the day!! I've just adopted my kitten several months ago and was looking to socialize him with others. I decided to give this place a try and was not disappointed. I've mainly worked with Boretta and she takes fantastic care of my cat. She's has been very knowledgeable and patient with my questions in regards to my cat and his behavior. I have dropped my cat off for daycare multiple times and each time he's been coming home exhausted from all the playing and attention. Boretta was nice enough to show me the boarding rooms as well which were clean and spacious. They were full of toys and amenities. It's great that the area is clean, and in addition they have a bird cage right outside the play area to provide visual stimulation for the cats. I'm extremely happy to have gone here and will continue to do so. read more

I needed to put our cat in a pet hotel for a few nights while our house was tented for termite control. The Pounce staff were very helpful and informative from start to finish. I cant say enough good things about pounce. I take my kitten here once a month for a nail trim, bath, and teeth cleaning just to ensure I am doing a thorough job at home and they make my kitty feel so safe and secure anytime she comes. This was my fifth time coming and shes always purring upon return to me. As far as the service goes from the groomers, they always complete the grooming in the time they say they will and kitty comes back to me clean and smelling fresh! they also do a really good job at checking in to let me know if they recommend any other services and when kitty will be ready. This place is a bit more pricey compared to other places you could take your cat for grooming but I do not think anywhere compares to having my kitty feel safe and secure after a grooming session and actually being excited to see the groomers! read more

Ringworm and denial of it: Beware. This is a serious and candid review of a public health issue with Pounce Hawaii. Specifically their vehement denial of our two kittens' recent stay at their cat hotel causing Ringworm in both of them. Our kittens boarded at Pounce Hawaii for a week and were returned to us with Ringworm, which is infectious, easily transmissible to humans, and difficult to eradicate. To make things worse, I saw a new Ringworm looking formation on our 3yo daughter today. After review of her skin by her Physician, the doctor advised we start medication for Ringworm ASAP. We didn't notice the Ringworm immediately in our kittens since we picked them up around 3:30PM last Sat Oct 3 in a travel box assuming all was okay. It wasn't. Ringworm was well-formed and thriving on our kittens. According to consultation with our veterinarian clinic, Ringworm usually incubates for a week or more before symptoms emerge, or as quickly as within a few days but not within a matter of hours as in our case. It was not a pre-existing condition. Our kittens are 100% indoor and Ringworm has never been an issue in our lives. I have dated pictures within a matter of hours to show what our kittens' faces looked like after picking them up from Ringworm infested Pounce Hawaii. Of note, Pounce Hawaii recently announced there was a Ringworm outbreak at their facility. They since assured us they sanitized everything and all was good to go. We trusted them. Unfortunately it wasn't, and likely still isn't. Truly think twice and beware. Now we are dealing with expensive medical bills for our kittens and more bills on the way to treat our 3yo daughter. I'm concerned we may all get it despite isolating the kittens in the bathroom and doing our best to disinfect our house. It was so disheartening when I called Pounce and they instantly denied having any responsibility. They stated they would've seen it and called us. They stated they sterilized the facility, etc. Our vet clinic stated that despite "sterilization," Ringworm pores travel in the air and in many other ways, and are very hard to fully eradicate despite one's best efforts. Pounce Hawaii basically said good luck. Knowing how Ringworm is contracted and the delayed incubation period before symptoms emerge, along with Pounce Hawaii's admitted recent Ringworm outbreak, I fully believe and am concerned that our kittens and now our family and finances are dealing with this issue. Bottom line: This is a public health Issue that should be investigated, which I hope will happen, with adoption and boarding practices stopped for the safety and protection of all felines and humans alike. Shame on them for prioritizing profit over public safety, and neglecting appropriate responsibility and accountability. read more

I have to share the amazing story when my 2 cats stayed Pounce Hawaii over Busy New Year season. My kitten Mocha got a slight cold and had some symptoms - Pounce Hawaii immediately contacted to me while I was out of island and tried their hardest to make an appointment to the clinic (where we usually take him for check up) and continued his medication till the end of his stay..! Extremely bad phone system. The first phone call to "book" for appointment went smooth we all know why it went fast and smooth ($$ lol). Then few days later they attempted to call me but I was busy and did not pick up the phone call but I literally called back less than a minute and no one picked up the phone and I went through their crazy phone system which took 5mins. After, i never gotten a return call. The next day was the same rinse and repeat. So you know i understand people are busy but literally less a min I tried to call back and no one available? Pounce is amazing! We recently took a trip to the mainland and had to find boarding for our two cats that we got last year. Pounce took care of us big time- daily picture texts and status updates, awesome facility, small medical needs stuff, everything. Our boys were well taken care of and it gave us peace of mind. Pounce is an amazing place! My 8 year-old son had been asking for a pet kitten for at least a year or two. We always put him off of the idea, thinking that it wasn't the right time for us. A few months ago my husband and I warmed up to the idea, though neither of us had ever owned a cat. I came across Pounce and scheduled a cat lounge visit for me and my son. We had a great time and received a lot of useful advice from Boretta. The visit solidified our decision to adopt. I later sent a long email with questions about cat ownership, which the gracious ladies of Pounce took the time to answer in detail. My husband, my two sons and I returned for a visit in early January to pick up our fur baby. Erin and Boretta were once again extremely knowledgeable and helpful in answering our questions and helping us to select our fur-ever baby. I can't even begin to express how amazing Pounce Hawaii is. This is the first time our cat has ever experienced a place like this, but we will DEFINITELY be back. Peaches can be a bit of an anti-social/anxious cat, but Erin and Boretta really took the time to get her acclimated and comfortable in her new surroundings. Not only that, but they also sent text and photo updates every day so we knew exactly how Peaches was doing during her stay. You can tell that these women truly love and care for each and every kitty that comes through their door as if they were their own. Aside from the 5 star service, their facility is absolutely beautiful. There's ample room for the cats to play and socialize, the guest rooms are spacious with tons of toys/beds/etc., and everything is so clean and spotless. The caregivers at PH were extremely accommodating with out plans to board our cat for a week. On our check-in date, our cat had an emergency health issue in which we needed to postpone our check-in time in order to take our cat to the vet. We were able to check her in four hours after our scheduled time and they were also able to accommodate her last-minute diet changes. I participated in the Cat Lounge experience and ended up leaving with a new member of my Ohana! We scheduled termite fumigation a few months ago; unfortunately, the date fell in throes of COVID-19 craziness. Our regular sitter needed to leave Oahu to care for elderly parents, so I Yelped "cat boarding" and found this lovely gem in Kakaako. TBH, I called 3 places with the best reviews and went with the first to call me back. Very happy the way things turned out. The photos are exactly what you get: a clean, airy spa for kitties. The staff walks visitors through the corridors of suites, and guests can watch you pass from the comfort of their furniture through the glass doors. No cramped cages here. All I needed to bring with the cats: their food and something scented with familiar smells (I brought T-shirts that were worn, but not washed). I booked separate rooms for my cats because Malph (15 pound cat) would murder Sasha (7 pounder) if left to his own devices. I also booked a bath for Malph to wash off the litter dust from home. He chooses to roll in clean litter whenever his box is changed. When I left them, Malph was comfortably ensconced in the kitty cubicle (private "room within a room"). Sasha doesn't like boarding so she sat in her carrier; when she returns, she's usually quite vocal about every complaint about the conditions she endured while she was away. Not this time; she was her sweet, mellow self when she returned home. Malph was quite spiffy after his bath. Both received nail trims, too. Boretta and Erin gave me a full report about the cats' diet, health (bowel movements, pet owners will understand) and behavior during their stay. I requested Malph be allowed in the communal playroom by himself, because murdering the resident kitties is rude. If your cats are sociable, they can play with two gentlekitties in the large playroom. I left with souvenir photos of Sasha & Malph. Whenever we need to board our cats, I'll call Pounce Hawaii. read more

When I left the country for 2 weeks I boarded him at Wags n Wings after they were recommended to me by a friend. On the first day I got a call from Rya that Cloud was not acclimating to daycare. However she was able to coordinate with my vet to pick up medication to make Cloud's stay more comfortable. She even sent daily pictures and messages keep me updated on his status. After a few days went by Cloud had toned down on the crying and clawing at the walls and had even made some doggy friends. I went from constantly being worried to being able to enjoy my time abroad. We were looking for a reputable place who would care for our pet as if she was home. Someplace she would feel safe since we know she has anxiety issues and is really shy around strangers and may be aggressive if provoked. We tried leaving her with family, but because of her temperament, they suggested a boarding care. She is great with their dog, but they too were looking for boarding for their pet. And because they go to a pet daycare weekly, they were sending their pet to their favorite pet daycare. So while I was searching a came across Happy Puppy Kingdom. The website and instagram pages showed doggies having fun and their prices were reasonable and their care packages were affordable. We made contact through Yelp and on to our introductory appointment. We also were able to provide Kamalani's vaccine records. As certain vaccines must be given in order to book the appointment's "meet and greet". The Owner, Sophia, was so caring, gentle, and loving towards Kama. She talked to her and built a trust for us and Kama. So we started to take Kama for weekly visits starting in January 2026. We knew Kama was going to be reluctant to go because she hasn't been around other dogs a lot and only family & family pets, and knew getting her used to HPK may take a while. As the months went by she started to know which days she got to go visit "her friends". We literally asked the day before if she wanted to "see your friends!"" And she would get so excited. Jumping up, wagging her tail, looking around for Miss Sophia. And when I'd drop her off she can't wait to get out of the car. In April we did the first overnight, and it was hard, for us. Constantly looking at the clock, expecting her to greet us at the door, and her hugs and kisses...nothing!! But she did great!! HPK said she didn't eat the food we provided, so they gave her their homemade food & she really enjoyed it. So when the days came for us to leave we knew Kama was in great care with HPK. We got pictures and videos of Kama when we were away. And it turned out, our in-laws also sent their 7yo hybrid poodle, Mochi, there too. And they said Kama protected her when she was scared. When we came to pick them up they were so happy to see us!! We know Happy Puppy Kingdom took such great care of our fur-babies and that this is a loving and caring place to leave them if we ever plan another trip. Sophia reassured us and gained our trust & Kama loves her too!!!

She prescribed a steroid taper but on the bottle the instructions were incorrect did not indicate a taper. Did not appreciate her bedside manner and lack of trying to look at my dog for the issue i brought her in for. Then as i was leaving i got blocked in to the small parking lot by an employee that parked her truck with the bed blocking the way out. That employee came out and saw me unable to leave but waited till i asked her to move the truck to move it. Gets two stars because of the front staff.

We just had a short trip outerisland, but couldn't bring our fir babies. Usually the parents or a friend can watch out pups, but not this time around. We called around and found it very challenging, almost like sending a toddler to daycare for the first time, they need vet records and a company to vouch that your pup isn't crazy and dangerous to others. We called these folks and they were very friendly and made it as easier to request vet records and willing to do trial run overnight to see how our dogs would do. We drove down and it's a little confusing to find, but basically aim for Salz Lock and Safe, pull into their parking and continue to the chain link fence and you'll see it mountain side. We met the couple that takes care of the fur babies. They were very welcoming and most importantly our dogs sixth sense accepted them right away. Their tails kept wagging, which made us feel better. Our dogs actually shake when we go to the vet and tail down, between the legs. We provided food for the morning, leashes and harness and that's it. They recommended not bring the beds because other dogs might mark them, since it's not a kennel environment. They can walk freely in the rooms and act like they do at home. We left them overnight and we're ready for a phone call, but no complaints came. Then in the morning we went to pick them up. On arrival the couple were still their smiling with our pups. Our dogs seemed happy with their tails wagging. They reported back to us how the dogs did and everything went well. I would recommend Barks and Purrs, because they genuinely seem to care for our dogs. Our dogs were happy and we felt safe to have them watched there.

He always looks forward to going to visit Richard and his furry friends. He comes home absolutely wore out. He wolfs down his dinner and then sprawls out on the floor to sleep. Richard is flexible with scheduling and very responsive and communicative. They also offer bathing services on site which you can avail yourself to while your fur baby stays in their care. I send my pup 2 days a week so that he gets much needed socialization and I get peace of mind knowing he's in capable hands.

Oscar stayed at Pounce Hawaii for 8 days. The day we picked up our Oscar, we knew instantly he was well cared for, happy and showed absolutely no sign of angst or stress. In fact, the next morning, he wandered around the house and we realized he was looking for his 2 aunties Erin and Boretta. It is comforting to know we have found a unique cage-free, like-no-other place for Oscar to stay while we are away. Pounce Hawaii maintains an impeccably clean environment. The air is fresh and absolutely no detectable odor. A friend visited Oscar during our vacation and relayed how comfortable he was & how nice this place is. Yes, it truly is. An absolute home away from home for our cat! Leaving a beloved pet behind when going on vacation is never easy, but this wonderful place gives us complete peace of mind every single time. Thank you so much for taking such good care of are fur babies Houdini & Pupi. It was our first time being away from them and we had a few worries, and pounce Hawai'i took care of all our issues. The rooms are very clean and smelled great. We got pics and updates on them daily and that put us at ease being able to see they were very well taken care of. I would definitely use them again and I highly recommend this place. No cage boarding was a definite no for me and Pounce Hawai'i is the only place that gives you a choice of rooms. We were a little concerned about leaving our Arkie in what I kindly say "storage". He was a feral cat who came into our lives and became the most wonderful indoor cat. We saw the reviews and as it was only a week trip we booked him in, hoping he would be ok. Well, we were so happy when we picked him up, when Boretta said how sweet he was and no issues we almost cried!! He came home completely the same, went straight to his large scratchy pole (made outT of a coconut tree). So happy to know that we have found the right place for him whenever we need. The cat lounge was very clean, well maintained, and wonderful to be in. All the cats were so sweet and relaxed around humans. We were able to adopt our new kitten that day and take him home. My fur baby Paris stayed with Pounce Hawaii in February and this month. I added the option of picture messages and videos for both stays which I loved, receiving pictures messages gave me a peace of mind. From the very moment I inquired about boarding to even after my Hana was returned to me at the end of her cat staycation, Heather and Jamie of The Cat's Meow Inn showed me and Hana what superior service is. If you have never boarded your precious feline before and need to, The Cat's Meow Inn is the very best choice you can make! Read on for why. Heather is very thorough and her attention to detail in screening me and my cat was exemplary. Her process assured me that my pet would be entering and staying in only the most safe, clean, healthy, and supportive environment. The Cat's Meow Inn is the ONLY 24/7 cats only boarding operation, which put my mind at ease knowing that someone would be with my animal in the event of an emergency and also that my pet would not be traumatized by the presence of other four-legged species. (Let's face it, cats are the most singularly discerning of domesticated pets. Sometimes, even I wonder why she lets me stick around.) In addition to safety, sterility and round-the-clock security, Heather and Jamie do their utmost to provide a luxurious, spa-like experience for your pet. I received daily photos and text check-ins from Heather (all-included in the daily cost). Hana stayed in a private, spacious and cats-only environment on a memory foam cat bed (no cages!!) with bird and gecko TV, playtime on some really cool cat furniture, and was given lots of loving attention from Heather and Jamie. (I'm a little envious ...) Heather and Jamie also provided free pick-up and drop-off! I think Hana got a better vacation than I did! And all of this comes at the low fee of only $25/day, far below the other boarding facilities in Honolulu who offer less, have several restrictions, and charge a far heftier daily fee. I am now a firm supporter of cat boarding, but will only choose The Cat's Meow Inn. I am so grateful to Heather and Jamie for their amazing accommodations, high standards, and superior customer service and hospitality for Hana. Apparently, you mistake paying clients for an open-mic audience to fill the void of your own social life. The only reason this isn't a zero-star review is because our cats came back completely fine both times, and your husband was actually pleasant. For professionalism, however, you get negative 4.7 billion stars. This goes far beyond the uncomfortably long hostage situations you disguise as "information verification." Back in March, we booked you for a month-long stay in June 2026. It was close to $2,000--not pocket change for us. So imagine our absolute bewilderment when, exactly two weeks before we were set to leave the country for a month, you asked us for a $1,500 loan. What a wild, unprecedented business model: soliciting a Paycheck Protection Program loan directly from your own patrons. We aren't here to keep your business afloat. I actually know exactly what the money was for, but here's a thought: maybe just raise your prices? Though, honestly, I find it hard to believe anyone is going to pay a premium to listen to you babble. After a long discussion, we decided we couldn't fund your personal requests. You assured us it wouldn't be an issue if we declined. That was after two separate phone calls begging for cash, during which you actually offered to "just run our card on file." You know, the emergency credit card you required us to leave with you. The sheer audacity to suggest violating our financial trust like that is staggering. My partner was understandably stressed as our departure grew near, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt because I try to trust people. Then came the barrage of six or seven texts still chasing the money. It was desperate, unhinged behavior. Predictably, exactly seven days before we left the island, you canceled our reservation. Fortunately for us, your behavior was so alarming that my partner had already canceled that credit card and scouted your competitors. One of them took us in last minute. If you want to run a business instead of a predatory text-thon, I suggest looking up the definition of boundaries.
