The pastries were fresh, tasty, and some of the best I've ever had at a coffeehouse. The young baristas that work there are very nice, which is refreshing. The part that really stood out to me, though, was the experience at the window. I pulled up and waited for about a minute with no acknowledgment at all. No eye contact, no "we will be right with you," not even a quick glance my way. I could see the team moving around inside, so I know they were busy, but it felt a little awkward just sitting there wondering if I was in the right place. When someone finally came over, they handed me my drink without saying a single word or making eye contact. No hello, no thank you, nothing. Then came the silent straw interaction where they just held one up and gestured at me. I figured it out, but it definitely caught me off guard. My food came out the same way, just handed over with zero communication. What made it more noticeable was that it was not just one person. All three employees I could see looked frustrated or upset, and there was just a really tense, unhappy energy behind the counter. I completely understand bad days, I have worked in the service industry for 20 years, but as a customer it felt very unwelcoming, especially for a first visit. As for the food and drink, they were just okay. I had the French toast sandwich, which was a bit underwhelming, and the Iced Lavender Berry Matcha did not quite have the punch I was hoping for.
