I had a rep in to give a free estimate and couldn't get him out of my house. I realize my roof is in bad shape. I know we've got to do something. The quality of the product seems to be there, but I felt assaulted! My husband had to leave for previous engagement and the rep was still there two hours later. Their efficiency sales model means wrap up the sale on the first visit because they don't have time to come back. It was very high pressure tactics. From start to finish my experiences with power home remodeling have been very satisfactory. I had originally done work with power back in 2013 having my roof and garage gutters done. But this time around I was able to have them install all new windows, soffit, facia, and gutters for my home. The process went very smooth. I was impressed by the sales gals that came out to explain their window that was made by Paula. I was very impressed by the heat lamp demonstration, which demonstrated how energy efficient the windows were. And the job was handled by a wonderful crew that cleaned up after themselves and they even had a representative to check the work afterwards to make sure everything went smooth for me. The communication, professionalism, and Efficiency of the business is something that I feel strongly about and would highly recommend their work to others. read more

Do not use this company! Sales people were great but no way would I ever recommend them and very much regret using them! I could never talk to sales people after the first day. They give you a business card but can never reach them directly and customer service will NOT transfer you to them. Also their siding did NOT have a QMID for taxes. Their so called top of the line siding that I paid a ton of money for does not qualify! Also their rep at the close of job told me I could contact them in the event my deck replacement damaged the bottom strip that butts to deck. I got a big denial of that too when I called. ! Hold time for anything on the phone is over 15 minutes at a time! Do your research better than I did. There are many other companies out there! Look them up before ever using this company. All they are is a bunch of scammers who hire people to knock on doors and try to sell a service. We did two window installation projects with Power in 2015 and 2019 for a total of 19 windows and a glass sliding door in the kitchen. There were complications later on with the windows due to bad seals. They replaced the ones that were faulty at no cost. As time went on more of the windows started to show similar issues. I called to see about having someone come out to look at them. I was told I had to get information off the windows myself, submit the information to them, and they would schedule a time to come replace the windows with an additional charge of $180 per sash. So not only would no one come out and look at them (I was told here was no need for this), but I am going to be charged additionally for faulty windows. The manufacturer of the previous windows is no longer in business, which we knew prior from the previous replacements, so their solution now is to charge us $180 per sash for faulty windows that we're actually still making payments on. Their lifetime guarantee in the Customer Bill of Rights evidently only covers labor. We have one more round of windows in the house that need replaced and we won't be using Power. Probably going to have to have most of their windows replaced and start all over again. Frustrating and very poor business practice to charge customers additional money for bad windows they installed. I live in Carpentersville, IL also. The windows themselves and the installation crew were fantastic, they were quick and efficient. One window was not on the truck the second time they came to install all of our outdoor facing windows except our bathroom window. The crew told us to call the company to schedule another appointment to replace the final window. Not an huge deal since they needed to recaulk other windows installed. Our sales representative on the other hand is a different story, Griffin seemed like an honest man, but after calling the company twice for the missing window I was not able to get ahold of him and the people I did speak with promised to call back and still have not. Had my windows installed July 12, I've been calling weekly and have to resort to writing this review to hopefully get someone to resolve this or at least explain what happened. I got a door from them and while the door was installed without the project manager ( Brian )who is useless and with an iq bellow a doorknob , started looking around the house, and then he saw some algae on the sighting and said that's mold and I need new sighting and if I didn't replace it he would cancel my warranty for the windows that I with them because the "mold" would cause my windows to fail. Initial install of siding 2022. From very beginning after signing papers and paying over $30k we were pushed off. Given a date, rescheduled several times. Work finally began and then stopped cause they had to change crews. Since the work has been completed we've had them back out 3 times to fix siding panels that have fallen off. Each time they say someone will be out soon and they schedule a date in less than a week. Then they reschedule then reschedule again. This time someone came out and said he has to reschedule because a piece that should have initially been installed wasn't and he didn't have it. Since then two reschedules. Today we call and the woman w ere speaking to was not only not helpful but extremely rude. We went to a local Home Show specifically looking for a window contractor. We ran into the folks from Power and were surprised that we never heard about them. Since they don't advertise we were a little curious so we had to do a little more research but worth it in the end. They are the largest company in their category and have a A+ BBB rating. Everything from the initial consultation to installation was clearly communicated and all of our questions were answered promptly. From the day of the home show to installation was 18 days and unexpected. We were so happy with everything that we are planning additional projects. I would 100% recommend Power Home Remodeling, they just do things differently than any other contractor we've worked with in the past. I don't understand why the Yelp rating is what it is all I can say is that my experience was great so do your due diligence and make an informed decision. read more

Power is predatory with their business practices by offering 2 prices at the end of the sales meeting. One price is much lower but requires an immediate signature but don't be fooled as both prices are entirely too high. Power replaced all 13 windows with a "lifelong" warranty. Within the first year, my windows started experiencing seal failure and at this point, 7/13 windows all have seal failure. I contacted them to come out and replace them under my lifetime warranty but I was told they had voided out the warranty and went on to say it was actually just a manufacture warranty even though nowhere did they specify this. Even the link for warranty information was a power link. No where in the contract did they specify what third party windows they were going to be installing. The representative on the phone stated the warranty was voided because the manufacture went out of business but offered to replace all my windows for $180 a piece. I have already given this company $18k for a bunch of defective windows with a false promise of a lifetime warranty which is voided out just over a year after install. Why in the world would I give them any additional money after false promises just for another batch of windows to experience defective windows again? People selling you the products are really nice but that's where it ends. They installed new windows and the caulk was not complete and they allow dust inside my house. We have seen no improvement in our energy bills with our new windows. Also these guys are not cheap so my expectations were higher. The installation process is terrible and they installed extra wood for no reason and now I have to get rid of it or stain it and buy new window treatments. Also when I called to complain I was basically told sorry not sorry and then told that windows have drain holes in them that's why I have dust and I said there are no holes on the inside of the window otherwise it would allow water inside every time it rains. I've done over $100K worth of work with Power. They've done my primary residence in Chicago, and they just recently did another job for me on a secondary residence out in Cary, IL. I was ecstatic and pleased as punch with the entire project done in Chicago. Professional, efficient, timely, clean, etc., etc., etc. I wish I could say the same over the recent project in Cary. There were timing issues during the project, along with quality issues that still linger today. During the Cary project, the siding guys left gutters and flashing literally hanging off my house once they were complete. They were following up the siding with a roofing replacement, and I was told that the roofers would clean up the issues left by the siders. (They did, but it shouldn't have been left that way to begin with.) Once the job was fully complete, and upon closer inspection, discrepancies and quality issues arose that we immediately took back to the company for review and repair. We were given an appointment for about 4 weeks out. A bit excessive, but livable at the time. When the appointment date and time came, a Power QA person came to my CHICAGO residence instead of the Cary property. (If these folks just looked at their OWN photos of the job, it would have been apparent that this was not a Chicago address that was being looked at.) We had a conversation with the QA guy, and explained that I didn't want wait another 4-6 weeks for someone to show up at the Cary property. That was on April 19th 2024. It is now May 14th, and we were finally given a new QA date of June 26th. With spending OVER $100K dollars with this company, I find that time lapse unacceptable. A word of warning for people considering using Power Remodeling. 1. The sales people are VERY assertive. They use a tactic that they can give you a sweet deal ONLY on the day they offer it. After that, because people will have to come back out, the price unfortunately will have to go up. Their prices are much higher than most other places, BUT the lifetime warranty that is transferrable is a huge selling point. 2. When they do the work, it's done by specialist for that type of work. (i.e. Roofers do roofing, siding folks do siding and gutters, etc.) and at the completion of that part of the project, the lead/supervisor of that team will come to get a "sign-off" on that part of the project. I would encourage you to TAKE YOUR TIME, and really inspect the work!! They are very positively responsive to anything you bring up to them at that time. I set an appointment to speak with someone and was lucky enough to get Develle Pickenpack as a representative to go over the home windows and options. He was the most knowledgeable representative I have ever encountered from any company. He knew all the specifics of his products as well as explaining the specifics of our windows. He was extremely professional and I could have sworn her worked for the company 10 or more years. Shocked, to find out he has only been with the company for 5 years. Concerns Regarding Power Home Remodeling: Product Quality and Customer Service We feel compelled to share our experience with Power Home Remodeling due to ongoing issues regarding the quality of their products and the handling of warranty-related matters. Our home contains four window openings with a total of eight panes, the majority of which are sliding windows, along with one double-hung window. Unfortunately, every pane has required replacement multiple times--some as many as five--primarily due to seal failure. When the seal breaks, the argon gas between the panes escapes, causing condensation and clouding of the low-emissivity (low-e) film, which gives the appearance of mold between the panes. In one instance, following the COVID-19 pandemic, we waited over a year for a replacement window--delays so prolonged that our Homeowners Association issued warnings about potential fines due to the deteriorated appearance. Most recently, we discovered that one of the smaller slider windows had spontaneously cracked. No one was home at the time, and the window was concealed behind both a blackout roller shade and a cellular shade. We contacted Power Home Remodeling to initiate a warranty claim. We were instructed to submit photographs of the damage, after which the company concluded--based solely on the images provided--that the damage was the result of an "impact." This conclusion is questionable. Based on publicly available information from multiple glass industry sources, including: * GSC Glass on Heat-Soaked Glass * Chicago Window Expert: Why Did Glass Break? ...the damage appears consistent with spontaneous breakage caused by nickel sulfide inclusions, a recognized manufacturing defect that can lead to delayed breakage in tempered glass. While I am not a certified expert, the breakage pattern observed in our window bears a strong resemblance to those documented in such cases. Despite our concerns, Power Home Remodeling declined to physically inspect the window and maintained that their remote assessment was sufficient. We have already been waiting fifteen days for a manager to contact us. We find it troubling that significant decisions regarding warranty coverage are made without an in-person evaluation, especially given the safety implications. While Power Home Remodeling has agreed to replace the window at a cost to us, the broader issue is the lack of accountability and attention to customer safety and satisfaction. Currently, we are waiting 2-3 months for the replacement. In the meantime, our son is sleeping in the office, as we are not comfortable allowing him to stay in a room with compromised glass, as it could fall on him, or another window could fail. This experience has left us disillusioned with the quality of the products and the overall service provided. I had my roof, siding and gutters replaced in approximately 1 1/2 weeks. Each crew are installation specialists. Everyone was very friendly. Clean up was performed after each installation. I had my roof replaced with this company a few years ago. They bragged about the quality and the 50 year warranty they offered. This place was nearly twice as expensive as any other roofing company but based on the quality of the shingles they used and the photos of their work I reluctantly purchased the new roof with them. Fast forward only a few short years later and the roof is popping up and shingles starting to come un done. I was told by other experts that this is because they "high nailed" the roof and was installed by an inexperienced worker.... Other companies didn't even want to touch my roof and recommended that call back power home remodeling to have them fix their own work under warranty. So I did call in and was told it would be 2 months to get an appointment for them to even come by and look at my roof. 2 months later the agent from PHRG came out and said they would honor their warranty and replace only a small section of my roof with the EXACT same shingle so it all matches. A month later they come back and replace the section while I was at work. To my surprise I come home and it looks even worse than before. They used a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT shingle that's thinner and cheaper looking! I call warranty service again and they said they would send someone out. So a guy named Joe Kenna came out and he apologized and said yeah I see this is a different shingle but let me see if I can get the distributor on the phone and we can get the right one. A few minutes later he says looks like we can't get the matching shingle. But honestly "it doesn't look that bad" I'm sure only you would notice it.... "Most other companies wouldn't even help you!" That's what he said... I'm going to leave photos so you can see how awful it is. I'm very reasonable I even explained to Joe, you don't have to replace my entire roof but at least replace section 1 and 2 at the front of my house so it matches because right now there are different shingles running down the middle and it doesn't look right. He tells me he can't authorize that decision and tells me to call PHRG again.... TLDR: PHRG is great at telling you how awesome their roofs are and how they stand behind their alleged 50 year warranty. But when their work fails a short time later be prepared to waste countless hours trying to get them to warranty and fix the poor jobs they do. And be given every excuse in the book. BUYER BEWARE!!! We had Power replace almost all of the windows in our house in 2013. We chose Power because they told us that their windows were condensation proof. Condensation buildup in between the panes was the reason we had to replace the windows. We have since had every window that they installed replaced (some more than once) because of condensation. We've waited years for some windows. Many times we took off work to have them come replace windows and they cancelled. Now I found another window with the condensation issue. I called to have it replaced and they said it now costs $180 per sash!! What about my lifetime warranty?? The warranty is even supposed to transfer to new owners if we sell! Horrible service. Purchased new windows in 2014. In 2020, had to have the bay window replaced because there was discoloration in between the panes. Seal was broken? Happened again on the replacement window in the winter of '24/'25. Called in March of '25 to schedule another replacement. They finally come out in September and have the wrong size window. Rescheduled again to December and they did not show up during the scheduled time. Repeated calls to customer service while expecting them. Time kept getting pushed back and they ultimately came too late and we were unable to be at home. Several calls back to them to get them to come back. Each rep was very nice but useless. They have made no effort to expedite this replacement and make this right. If I could go back, I would not use this company. There customer "bill of rights" about respecting your time, etc. is BS. After waiting 2+ years for 2 bay window replacements under warranty, the installer shows up with one window. The window he showed up with was the incorrect size. And the other window was supposedly damaged during transport. So now after waiting over 2 years, windows still haven't been replaced. And I wasted taking a day off work to be home for the installation. Now the warranty department is saying I will have to wait another 6-8 months for new windows to come in! Then an addition 4-6 weeks to schedule an install The warranty department said if I was a new customer or a paying customer, they would have those same windows installed in about 3-4 weeks. Will never buy from them again! The doors I purchased are nice. They were expensive. The first round of doors needed to be removed and brought back because the paint was peeling on front doors. My back sliding glass door... screen handle broke the first year we had it. They fixed it. Now maybe five years out from my project. I have water pouring in from underneath front my door whenever it rains and they told me it'll be two months before they can even come out and assess the situation. I thought I was paying extra money to have a long-term warranty and better service. Also, I was told my door would not fade in color. That was untrue. If they addressed the water problem I would say nothing, but now I need to hire a contractor because they did shotty work. We purchased windows from Power many years ago over 25k. This was a couple years before the pandemic. Of all the windows approximately 15 of them lost the gas in between the sash's and needed replacing. We had them come out to check them and order new sashes. They are warranteed for life. It took over 3 years for all the windows to be replaced. I recently had another kitchen window with the same issue and was ordered. Today the doorbell rings and lo and behold there is my kitchen window. No person at the door or nothing. I called Power and asked if this is what they do now. I've waited a couple of weeks before posting my review of our roof replacement by Power. Wanted to see what differences high temps in chicago and heavy rains did to it. The quality of the products they use and the 50 year warranty ( transferable to next person you sell the house to) is what sold it to us and it does look excellent. The company has been around 30 years so there's a good chance they will be around to honor the warranty if needed. They were able to schedule the work very quickly and it was completed in 2 days with a very hard working team. 8 men on the first day and 4 on the second day. There was no change to the quoted price even though it took longer than expected. Though I have given 5 stars - the low points were the initial presentation was exceptionally long (3 hours - could be cut down to less than 2), they are expensive, they really push you to sign at the initial presentation for the lower price and the financing rate is not very competitive, (but no repayment fee if you pay off early). We did not get any other quotes to compare against, but every single staff member we met was excellent, friendly and professional. At the presentation it was great to see the products and the benefit of each product they use. The installers were respectful of our and our neighbors property, and cleaned up fairly well. They left leftover materials neatly which were collected afew days later. Since the roof has been in place, an added benefit is our upstairs is noticeably cooler as the venting in the roof is giving airflow and hot air can leave the roof rather than circulate inside and keep the upstairs temp higher. read more

The scheduling process was painful. They asked a lot of detailed questions just for scheduling. They need everyone to be available (made no sense), so we had to make it evening. The free estimate turned out to be a brainwashed salesman reciting what he was trained for 3 hours. He made all the commitments which I learned from the reviews are all lies. After seeing the pictures of terrible jobs they did (a lot of them), I am so relieved that we didn't sign up for their service ( thanks to their ridiculously high price and interest rate). They did not measure correctly the first time. The original "sign now" quote was $3400. Since I had other companies to come out i said no, I wanted to do my due diligence. Then the price was around $4100. After the initial failed install, They gave me a new date for an install. I called the day before because I had not heard from them. They stated the door didn't come in yet because there is a glass shortage. Not to be a jerk but measure right the first time, and don't waste doors and you wouldn't have as big of an issue. There were 3 other times that I took off work and they did not come. I had to use vacation/ sick days for no reason besides the company not doing their due diligence and keeping track do their inventory. I kept calling asking about a discount because of my inconvenience. Due to my inconvenience I was given $250 off. They stated they don't usually do that. I stated that they had dropped the ball multiple times and they should give me a discount. At this point they forgot my keys for my door. So one of their employees has my address and keys to get into my first floor back door. Needless to say, I don't feel safe with that being the case. I used them for my windows and it was an amazing experience, but with this experience I do not believe this company should be used for any job. I have to reiterate so many of these bad reviews, and they were only here about ten minutes. A salesperson came to our door today saying they were "in the neighborhood (first red flag), proceeded to ask a lot of unnecessary personal questions (second red flag), and tried to get us to accept a free estimate while at the same time saying how the current state of our house was still good (third red flag). We didn't proceed any further with them and I am so glad we didn't. It sounds like the whole company is a sham. read more
