We have had Power for multiple home services, including windows, doors, a new roof and gutters, and attic insulation. The products are average and most have needed some repair every other year or so, and the time it takes for a part and service call to happen is usually about 2 months. This means currently for our back door, which has faulty weather stripping, we are "approximately 4 to 8 weeks" from a service call, and that will take approximately most of the winter having a drafty door, negating the sales pitch of lower energy costs. Last year, a faulty doorknob on our front door took most of the summer for a repair person to be available, the entire time which we could not open our front door. Consider another company for your home repairs. read more

Had a scheduler knock on my door saying his team was "doing a job in the area" and he noticed our windows look dated. He spent a good 15 minutes making small talk with my wife before she came and got me. He then offered us a free estimate on new windows, with no commitment needed. He was buttering us up the whole time and asking overly personal questions. We DO need new windows, so I figured we could at least get an idea of pricing for when we eventually decide to buy. An estimator/salesman came by later in the evening. I wish I'd read the reviews here first. It took about an hour for him to measure everything, discuss model/color options, and give me an unnecessary history of the company. Just when I thought we were approaching the actual "estimate" portion, he starts going over the warranty and insurance information. I said, respectfully, "this has already taken longer than I expected. Can I just get the estimate now? We are not ready to commit regardless." He refused to provide an actual price and said we were "At least an hour" away from discussing pricing. I again asked him to just give me a ballpark estimate and he refused. I had to ask him to leave. I'm giving two stars because I don't know the quality of the work or products. I'm purely rating based off the estimate process, which I found frustrating. While the sales tactics were a bit smarmy, the salesman (and the scheduler) was pretty kind and did leave without any resistance or pressure once I asked him to leave. I'm shocked to read other reviews that suggest this could have gone on for 2-3+ hours had I let it, and based off the prices I'm reading on here, there's no way we'd have gone with them regardless. Their salesman will tell you all about their quantity of jobs and how they're the largest window installer in the country. This is due to high pressure sales tactics. Update: I was able to schedule a warranty appointment, with the date several months away after the time I called. The technician who came to us was surprisingly reasonable and knowledgeable, was able to answer all questions, and promised to queue us for replacement of all the windows with the visible specks on them, although with the wait time of more than a year, so we're still waiting for the update from them with regards to when the new windows will be ready. According to him, the quality of the replacement windows is supposed to be better. The technician did also replace the broken plastic runners. read more

Had my entire home Windows and sliding door replaced May 31st 2022. During the install the crew damaged 2 screens and the slider door Mull piece didn't fit correctly so they had to order a new Mull. We set up a 6/20 date to replace the mull. That date came and went with no follow up call from power. When I called customer service they said manufacturing is delayed and they can't come out till September. We scheduled that date and power never called or showed up. I called customer service and they basically said that they don't have any crews up in my area so they can't be back until 10/17/22. On 10/17 a rep showed up and installed the 2 screens and attempted to install the Mull. He than gave up and said the job is above his skill set. He said an install Team needs to come back. Seriously... what a waste of time. So than on 11/8 a 2 man team shows up and the lead rep says it's not the mull, it's the slider that was installed incorrectly and is not square or level. He said that a full install team need to come back and remove the entire slider and reset. We had our roof done by Power and they did an amazing job, so we had them do our Gutters... Huge MISTAKE. They didn't show up for the first appointment, then when they did show up they left a terrible mess, and when I went on the roof I saw they didn't even open up the holes for the downspouts. So they say lifetime warranty I call them and send Pictures. They make an appointment to remedy the situation, and don't show up again. So I call back, they say we fell through the cracks, and we can reschedule, so we reschedule. They call that day and say the crew got backed up and won't make it... they can come out sometime next week!!! Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional... do not use them. read more

Would not recommend to anyone. Immensely disappointed from start to finish. Not happy with the sales process, product we were sold or the customer service. It took 3 hours for the salesman to articulate himself and sell (read: pressure) us to move forward with something that was merely a band aid (gutters) to a larger issue (siding). The product promised that we'd never have to clean our gutters again. This is false. Our gutters get so clogged that the water dams and pours over the edge, which has in turn created new water damage at our foundation. Clogging was never an issue with our old gutters because we had gutter guards, which also effectively moved water away from our home... Customer service merely said there was nothing they could do about our leaves (despite this only becoming an issue for us AFTER Power came into our lives) and they don't sell gutter guards. Power has called me approximately 1x per month, saying I'm eligible for discounts for my siding project. I've expressed my disappointment and decision that I'll never hire Power again, yet they keep calling. I've spoken with the warranties department as well as customer care more times than I can count. I've since learned of another company who will do gutters for free with a purchase of new siding. What a waste of money and energy it was to hire Power for this. Had them do my windows, then gutters/soffit/facia. The original job of the windows was pretty good, however they did not explain they would be redoing a few of the window frames, which caused us to have to patch drywall and paint. Our blinds no longer fit in those windows. The only window frame that did need to be replaced is in the bathroom, however I was not given this option and now 2 years later the frame is entirely rotted. Although the company says I have a lifetime warranty, they refuse to replace the frame even as a separate job that I am willing to pay for. Additionally, they did my gutters when snow was covering the ground and left scrap metal and nails all over my yard, which I had to clean up multiple times - it's lucky no one stepped on any of this garbage. read more

We used Powers because a neighbor used them and was happy with results. We, however had a different experience. I have no problem with the work done. The price was outrageous though. Very high pressure sales. They tell you their price is sooo much lower than other companies and their product sooo much better. Lies. And they give you one price for right now only and a much higher price if you decide later.$16,000 for gutters and once they finished they sent another salesman to the house for what he said was a sign for project completion but was another hard sell for a new roof. $62,000 for a new roof IF we don't sign now and $45,000 was today's price. We declined and I had a company do our roof for $20,000, and they did a great job. Just say no to Powers! I have called back multiple times and they are so backed up that they have a 12 to 15 month replacement on a warranty. June 2017, they replaced my siding. A short time after slabs of siding fell to the ground. Took over a month to come and repair. Here we are 4 years later and an entire corner piece fell to the ground. Called in June and today was the 3rd scheduled appointment. (They keep cancelling.) Scheduled for 8 to 10 am and nothing. We had most of our windows and 1 door replaced by Power HRG the summer of 2014. Since that time they have had to replace the window in the back door 4-times and multiple window sashes due to seal failures and discoloration between the panes of glass. Replacements were very, very slow in arriving and I was told that new orders came from one manufacturer/ plant, which came faster, but warranty replacement windows from another , which was much slower. Anyone else see a problem with this? Today 3/4/2025 I called them to report 4 more window sashes with the same problem and was advised that their manufacturer of the windows was not charging Power HRG for warranty replacement windows and that Power HRG needed to pass those charges on to me. WHAT? Which manufacturer , New customers of Existing customers manufacturer is charging Power HRG for the replacement windows and how is any of this my issue. Power HRG needs absorb and costs or take legal action against the manufactures and not expect the customer to pay for shoddy merchandise. read more

I wouln't use this company because either their front end salesmen are slimy, making promises they know they can't deliver or are incompetent and don't know what they are doing. Either way, it doesn't look good for the company. In April 2023 a salesman was "in the neighborhood doing a job close" to me and offered a free estimate. I do have several windows that need replacing, so but I knew I couldn't afford to do them all at once. The salesman said I could do them "in order of importance" soI agreed. The total cost was a lot more than I could afford, but I wanted to proceed with 2 windows. I was informed they would only install a minimum of 4 windows, so I passed. Someone came out the following month to offer a lower option, but again, it was more than I could afford even with only 4 windows, so I passed again. Yesterday 2 new salesmen came and started by saying the same thing they were "in the neighborhood doing a job close" to me. I let them know I'd already had an estimate from the company and what happened. They said I would get an additional discount for having had them out already and assured me that they could do 2 windows and were confused as to why I was told that. They even pulled up a "map" of what they'd done recently and said they replaced only 2 windows in a home a few streets over and 1 across town. So I agreed to have them out again to measure all windows, do a detailed estimate and I could choose to do the 2 that I need to be done now and the rest later. Today, the company called to let me know the last estimate I had done was still the lowest price and that I had to replace 4 windows for them to come out. I told the rep on the phone what was said. Kind of scary. They are walking the neighborhood right now trying to give out unsolicited quotes. It is a guy and a woman. The woman comes to the door, actually tries to open the screen. The guy comes up from behind. She claims you need new windows and that they are currently in the neighborhood replacing windows. Feels very dangerous. They should not be walking around houses, looking at windows. They definitely should not be trying to open doors. I suggest calling the police if they come by your neighborhood. read more

This review will need to be updated as the project progresses, but I wanted to get some initial thoughts down before too much time elapses.. I ended up signing with Power only to read the reviews AFTER, and boy, some of the reviews in 2024 were a bit rough. It shook my confidence if I'm being honest, but to Power's credit, they reached out to all reviews with thanks or request to fix issues. Project aside (because it hasn't started yet), everyone I've dealt with has been friendly. The two gentlemen who knocked on my door during the neighborhood canvas were extremely personable. We were all cat owners and by the end of the meeting, we were pulling up pictures on our phones of our fur babies. The expectation they set for next point of contact was met without issue. As far as the "personal/invasive" questions I was asked (noted in other reviews), I also found it slightly strange that I had to take the phone from them and confirm various details that seemed redundant to the contract, but they explained that it's protocol during these neighborhood bookings and meant to ensure the most efficient outcome for everyone. Josh was next, the sales rep. He seemed very sweet and like the kind of guy you'd want to grab a beer with sometime. I didn't perceive him as particularly assertive in his sales tactics. Yes, they want you to sign on the spot and offer a discount if you do. I mean, it's their business, if that's how they roll, then you just say, "That's great, but I'd really like to think about it more, so I'll take my chances." Based on "pushy sales people" reviews, I think the company is listening. Josh did a good job walking that fine line between 'I work for Power, but I'm on your side too.' There were times the presentation seemed to run a bit long, but Josh had the wherewithal to sympathize with us having to view the handful of digital illustrations on an iPad in a sunny yard. Again, humbly walking that fine line: Company policies, but yeah, I hear you. (; Honestly, I would've preferred hard print information over an iPad, but I get it. I'm sure online is more cost effective and efficient for the reps. We ultimately went inside for the contractual stuff after weighing our "Wish List" against our "Need List." I felt like Josh was genuinely vested in helping us make solid choices that wouldn't blow out the budget. He even played the voice of reason when I insisted on adding a "Wish" item to the "Need List." Seriously, he was great! Now.. On with the PPI. Joe was the third point of contact finalizing measurements, project details, and setting up the install dates. The expectation was set that someone would likely call the morning of just to confirm, but no call came until he was five minutes away and he was already 30 minutes late. When he greeted me though, he was smiling and stuck out his hand right away. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but I casually said, "I thought maybe you were going to be a no-show." He apologized, explained that the last appointment ran long and time got away from him. He seemed a little cool at first, and I didn't know if I was supposed to be walking around the house with him or what, but it was a 95* day and he was running behind so I waited until he made his way to the back of the house where I had some questions which he easily answered. Once we got inside and out of the heat, things got more conversational. I will say, make sure you read your project details thoroughly and ask what things mean. Don't feel embarrassed to question industry terminology you wouldn't know. Joe may've noticed it eventually, but there was a term I didn't understand regarding one of the windows that the others didn't have. Turns out, the estimate included a demo charge (in error?) which wasn't needed and brought the price down. (: Joe re-wrote the estimate and patiently explained the changes he made and why he made them before I re-signed anything. After spending some time in our living room, he further bolstered our decision by noting what a big difference the window will make in terms of energy costs and room temperature. Whew! Okay. I was Never happy with the replacement windows I bought through power home remodeling. Spots inside the windows that look like dirt, broken clips, generally just not quality workmanship. The final straw with them is that have been trying to get a replacement screen that I paid for well over a year ago. "Disorganized, not honest, potentially scamming customers out of thousands" The prior owner spent over 22K on window replacements in 2014. In 2018 (a year after I moved in) 2 windows had developed a seal failure and spotting that began to worsen. I first contacted PHRG in 2019 for a replacement. They stated there was a 15 month wait time for replacement. Fast forward to dozens of phone calls, emails and false promised dates of delivery and 2 additional windows that developed a seal failure. In response to my latest request for an update, I received a generic email with a difficult to read chart that showed new "promised" date for May 31, 2023 for the original window! This is after they told me my installation was scheduled for October 28th 2022! So, someone told me the window was ready to be installed last week and then another email indicated it hadn't even arrived at the warehouse! It is hard to believe they will ever decide to honor their warranty. Now I am stuck with windows that look like the pictures below and looking to pay out of pocket for the badly installed windows this company put in, in 2014. With a Lifetime warranty.... I got a quote from a local siding and roofing company and wanted to get other quotes. So I sent out a request and was connected through porch with power hrg. While the work was performed extremely quickly, the initial price on roofing, siding, gutters and soffit /fascia was astronomical for this area and the size of the house. The previous quote for the same services was almost 300% less than what Power HRG quoted me. However, I liked the idea of a ridge vent so I signed a contract for roof and soffits / gutters as they were only 21% more and I *was told by the sales guy and other people I spoke with* that there was a *transferrable* lifetime (50 yr) warranty on both the materials and *labor*. Turns out, their sales guys either lie or don't know that the labor warranty is not transferable according to the warranty on their website. They sent over some pre-installation inspectors who saved some money by not having to replace wood in the attic with the new roof. As I had told the sales guy I wanted as much wood replaced as possible (this is the way in chicagoland before the lumber price spiked), this was the first clue they are very disorganized as a company and are either too large or doing too much business to care about customers. They had dropped the material off on a Friday, but I checked it the next day after running errands; lo & behold... they dropped off the wrong shingles and are not open on Saturday afternoons for me to call and let them know. On Monday at 7am the crew shows up and I have to let them know that the material is wrong. That delayed the installation of the roof by about a week as it rained most of the next few days. The installation seemed to go well until the second sales guy showed up that afternoon the day the roof was being put on. He proceeds to tell me some BS that he's the soffit and fascia guy and that it would affect my trim warranty (which I didn't know I had) if I didn't get siding through them and then tells me no one else can do quality siding jobs like they can in the entire Chicagoland area (I kid you not). While he took off about 13k from the initialy siding quote, it was still way too high for siding in this area. There wasn't even a credit for recycling the old aluminum which should have knocked off at least 3k from the price based on local scrapyard prices. When I finally got around to inspecting the roofing work, after the other work was complete, I saw plywood boards that clearly should have been replaced but were not and what looked like very sloppy nailing as well. None of the problem boards they photographed that were discussed @ sales and pre-installation were sistered. When I inquired about this, before signing off on the roof work, I got three different stories from three different people about why this wasn't done. They also left a lot of extra material I didn't need (vinly j-channels, lots of unused calk). From the ground, I can't tell if they calked the space between the gable trim and the old aluminum siding. At no point did I see anyone come to ensure their work was done properly either day. The attic didn't appear to leak when we had heavy rains shortly after that, but the worked looked sloppy and rushed. I saw new nails going through trusses that the second sales guy denied were from his guys (new shiny silver nails vs. dark nails, not too hard to tell). They also didn't install the chimney cricket which was in the contract and I was given some excuse why they couldn't. After the soffit/trim work was complete, I cancelled the siding project I had agreed to as I was within the 3 day contract cancellation window that by law (not by their policy as the sales guy will tell you) I had a right to. I then received a call from the same "trim" sales guy on the premise of good news! They're going to install the chimney cricket... who wasted 1.5 hours of my time trying to convince me not to cancel as he had already ordered the materials AND, on top of that, when he finally relented, no one showed up to put in the promised chimney cricket. Eventually he gave up without trying to take anything off the price and signed off on the cancellation of the project. Lastly, after I had signed off on all of the work, I noticed one of my concrete steps was damaged severely and the piece of concrete was nowhere to be found. One of their two crews must have cleaned it up as I didn't find it anywhere near where it would have fallen, nor did I see any damage to my vehicle that's normally parked near it. Spent $25k on window replacements a few years ago. Windows instantly started to fail. Have had to have almost all of them replaced. Warranty replacement is a lie- they take months to replace damaged items and replace them with more damaged, or used, items. 100% of the exterior doors they installed are leaking when it rains and it took one year to replace one door, the other door is still not replaced. One time we had a warranty replacement, and the installer wasn't familiar with the equipment he was installing so he drilled multiple holes into my homes framework attempting to get it to fit. He damaged my house and my window. Customer service department is hit or miss. Has frequently been passive aggressive and unhelpful. Spoke to Jillian in the call center and she could not have been any less understanding or more inconsiderate. Avoid power products at all cost. read more

So very disappointed. From installation just over a year ago when they left nails everywhere, cut my Internet. Fast forward to just over a year later. Trim work is falling off and they say someone will contact us to come out. Instead, no one ever comes and I have pieces missing. After another month they send someone to fix it. They came today. They fixed it. With the wrong color!!! Are you kidding me?!?! Now I can wait another month plus they tell me. What a waste of money. Who puts up the wrong color and says yeah this should be ok?!? UPDATE. I have requested calls. None received. They are scheduled to come tomorrow to fix but show up today and guess what, wrong color again. Is this a joke ?!?!? read more

Bad experience with Gutters, soffit, and facia We knew we had bad facia wood.. hired power to come out and replace facia, soffit, and gutters. Sales person sold us on removal of all existing soffit and facia ( no one mentioned that they were infact not going to remove anything and just cover up what we have!). they capped all wood facia and soffits.. We were told over the phone this is standard procedure. We were also told that they need the wooden soffit for the new vinyl to anchor to and that they cut additional ventilation holes.. they cut zero additional holes and had to come back and remove the soffit and cut the holes. When they removed the soffit to cut the holes.. they bent all the new facia cap.. yes facia cap, they did not remove any bad wood we had. they just capped it with aluminum.. so now all the facia is bent and wavy.. we were told that they replace bad wood usually in the corner areas.. you can literally see bad facia wood from a ladder still there .. the company repeatedly lied to us. wish we could just have them take all of the material they put on my house back for a full refund.. read more
