Got to try Poyoteca during the Grand opening week when they offered 50% off rotisserie chicken and sides. The other items on the menu were not available due to overwhelming support from the community. We ordered the family meal, which comes a whole rotisserie chicken and 3 large sides. I thought the chicken was pretty juicy and even the white meat wasn't too dry. Sauces always help to bring down any dryness in chicken. They give you plenty of sauce. The yellow sauce is mild and kinda tastes like mustard, but the green sauce definitely has a kick! As far as sides, the plantains were pretty sweet, and the yucca was starchy. Although the arroz chaufa (fried rice) was a bit plain, a little sauce goes a long way, especially the green one! Poyoteca is definitely worth trying and excited to try the other items on the menu. The spices inside're evenly spread out and the meat wasn't overly fatty. Quarter Dark + 2 sides ($9) - I'd recommend their yucas. They're fried perfectly - enough crunch on the exterior and not too salty. I really appreciate how their owners and management team take feedback and any constructive criticisms seriously. There are a LOT of Peruvian chicken places in the DMV and I am convinced that this is the best. The portions are large, the chickens are juicy and well-seasoned and most importantly, the sides are superior. I highly recommend the brussels sprouts and carrots (I can't even believe I said this but like this is legit so good and they're caramelized so well), green beans, and their potato salad. The yucca is fried perfectly too and the large is sufficient for 3 people to share. Now, the most important question: is their sauce good? Yes. Yes it is. The green sauce is normal, but the mayo-based one is absolutely delightful and has hints of vinegar which helps to cut the grease of the chicken. It's thick too, and not watery at all like other places. I like how they even let you decide the sauces since other places standardize 1 green and 1 mayo-sauce. You can get two mayo-sauces (which I think applies to in real life too but this is definite option on their online ordering system). The restaurant is located right by the Krispy Kreme, and in the shopping center so plenty of parking is to be found. The restaurant is large enough to accommodate groups if you ever want to have a fun chicken party. Overall, great place for Peruvian Chicken and am excited to try out the rest of their menu. read more

Peruvian chicken places are now popping up everywhere and its good to know which is worth visiting/ avoiding. I came here towards closing. So I was getting what ever was left. The male employees very friendly and welcoming. I got dark meat 1/4 chicken meal. I chose rice and yuca. The rice (chaufa) looked good and so did my yucca fries. Chicken looked good. All was going smoothly. When i came here, it was when indoor dining was not allowed, so I had to pack my food to go. I asked the nice guy for extra yellow sauce, cuz they make the yucca fries more tastier and the chicken too. He was throwing like 3 small cup things in there . Out the blue came a female employee yelling at him, oh nooo she has to pay. Like really sis?? And they both were gonna argue on whether or not I was gonna be charged. Final verdict: i wasn't charged. Male employee stood firm and said, im not charging her and we are about to close, and all these sauces will have to be thrown anyways. Sis was not pleased and gave me the side eye treatment. Now, if there was a fee for the sauces I would not mind. However, if she came at me the way she did at her co worker I would've canceled my order. Im not sure why she was mad over that. The male employee apologized for her rudeness. The chicken is good. Like really tasty and im sure if I got there earlier it would be even better. Rice: was ok. Not the best. Maybe because I got there before closing. Same for the yucca fries. Ill give this place another try. This is the best Peruvian Chicken place in the area, hands down. I used to be on the Sardi's wagon, but sorry Sardi, Poyoteca has you beat. The chicken is probably the most tender and moist Peruvian Chicken (or any chicken really) I've ever had. Even the breast is delicious and juicy. The sides are also incredibly good. I loooove the Ensalada Rusa and Fried Plantains. The Brussels Sprouts are also extremely good. Their sauces are to die for. Yes, I put it on everything and save the extras for later because it's THAT good. The only side I haven't liked so far has been the Fried Yucca, but I've always disliked Yucca so I'm not going to hold anything against Poyoteca for it. Possibly the best chicken I've ever had. Came in for lunch and got the quarter chicken and two side combo for 7.99. I didn't know what I was getting myself into and ate here the entire week. The Brussels sprouts were roasted to perfection and the Mac and cheese was creamy and possibly the best I've ever had as well. The chicken was next level. Had I not been returning to work I would easily hospitalize myself overeating the chicken with their range of sauces that were all great. Came in person to buy dinner for my family took them over 30 minutes I complete my order because they were backed up in pick up orders. The same person who was getting my "in person" order was running back and forth doing everything while the other took their precious time doing whatever it was they were doing. Then when it came to FINALLY give me my "in person" order the yuca was not 100% cooked. They pulled it out of the fryer to give me my order. Never again! Will be going back to Don Pollo instead. Much better customer service and food. Update: reached out to the restaurant asked to speak to a manager in the background they said "I don't have time to speak to anyone". And then the person who tended to the phone lied saying they were the manager and wouldn't provide a first name. Was visiting my in-laws in the area and got a chance to stop by the recently opened Poyoteca. Wow! This place is really tasty and really great prices for the amount of food you get. I got the quarter white chicken, white rice, and plantains and everything was so tasty. The chicken is moist and flavorful. The plantains are dangerously delicious- I almost just could eat two sides of plantains but I had to stop myself. The customer service was great and I thought their covid precautions were great- all staff wearing masks and no crowding. Poyoteca is a new Peruvian rotisserie chicken restaurant in Fallsgrove. From upon entering the restaurant to the check-out service, their customer service is warm and welcoming. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with 2 sides and the lomo saltado bowl (marinated filet mignon stir fry). The beef stir fry was delicious and the meat was about medium cooked. I thought the chicken was a little over-seasoned, but still pretty good and moist. A really good place for a tasty rotisserie chicken with sides that are well made and....not overly salted! We picked up a few things to go and were very pleased at the freshness and quality of the food. Veggie side of carrots and Brussels sprouts that had crunch and flavor. Yes a little sweet but just a touch. Fried rice and beans, again not overly salted, and with distinct flavors. Mashed potatoes with some skin, the same. Yuca fries? Excellent. Same with the rotisserie chicken. Cut up while steaming hot, crunchy skin, good seasoning. And all reasonably priced to boot. Finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
