One of my favorites in San Carlos. The bolognese is so rich and meaty. It's right next to another Italian spot and I will choose this one every time. The service is always good and the inside or outside of the restaurant offer good ambiance. We like Prazni a lot. It's a good place to come that's close to home that has reliably good food! Their drinks are also quite good. Some of our favorite dishes are: Caesar salad, lasagna, chicken parm, sides of broccoli and spinach, and if they have the fish special, it's very good. We have also tried their risotto, which is really good. Oh, and the bread with their herbed butter is totally worth the calories! The portions are HUGE. The table enjoyed the other entrees; the pennette vodka was my favorite pasta as the sauce was thick and creamy. Desserts ordered: puff pastry, crepe brûlée, apple crepe. Puff pastry was my favorite. Creme brûlée was flavorless and the apple crepe was so-so. Overall, none of the dishes were spectacular. Service - definitely understaffed, but that's just how the restaurant and most businesses are nowadays. The buser was kind enough to bring out cold water for our dogs. The bread was was incredibly fresh and paired perfectly with the herb butter. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like good Italian food. The hostess met us at the door and was so sweet. She was so personable. She came by our table a couple of times and was so knowledgeable regarding the menu. She is truly a huge asset to this establishment. The food was excellent and so was the service. The foccacia was fresh and the olive oil was delicious. We do not normally order any appetizers but the artichoke caught our eye. We are SO glad we got it. It was like nothing we had ever had. It was light and so flavorful. I ordered the Cappallaci (butternut squash tortellini) and my daughter ordered the Pannette Vodka. Both dishes were large and amazing. Of course we had to save room for dessert so we both took home to go boxes. Absolutely enough for each of us to have for another meal. For dessert we decided to share the tiramisu. We ordered for three people using door dash and picked up the order. Two of us shared the pear salad and it was excellent. My entree, Tagliatelle, did not have a protein so for $12 I added salmon. I received two very small pieces of very dry salmon (smaller than the fish sticks my mom used to serve me). At least two of the pasta entrees were just swimming in oil. We appreciated that the bruschetta came unassembled so they were not soggy. The Tiramisu was OK (I have had better and I have had worse). It was ready when advertised and the order was correct (doesn't always happen with door dash). We will probably try this restaurant again. read more

We were a party of seven that visited Pranzi and I am impressed. The ambience of the restaraunt is a great place to unwind and enjoy a tasty hot meal. The staff is great and the food is even better. Appetizers were delicious. For dinner I ordered the grilled farm chicken and presentation really does matter. Looking at my plate MADE me want to eat it! My veggies and potatoes were cooked perfectly, my chicken was moist inside and had a great char on the outside and the spicy aioli on the chicken was so good and really tied the dish together. Everyone at our table was pleased with their meal. Then dessert! We enjoyed the chocolate mousse cake with fresh raspberries, tiramisu and apple crepes. Two thumbs all the way up for Pranzi! **DONT RECOMMEND COMING HERE FOR TOGO** It should be ZERO stars for lying to me. I rarely give 1 star unless something horrible happened. I don't get why the waiter would lie to me. Husband and I wanted to try a new place for Italian pasta. We ordered online and it said it would be ready in 15 mins. When I got there the waiter told me it would be 10-15 more mins. I came back 10-15 mins and same waiter told me that it's not done yet, that they are working on it still and the kitchen is backed up, that everyone came at the same time. He said I could wait inside so I sat down, waited patiently. I could see that they were busy with indoor and outdoor diners and I noticed food was coming out of the kitchen. 35 mins pass, same waiter apologizes said that the kitchen is blocked. I asked if we could cancel the order then waiter said they couldn't cancel on their end. My husband comes in to check on what was going on. The waiter tried to offer us $100 giftcard to come back next time but we didn't want a giftcard, our order was around $72 (2 pastas and 1 appetizer) and they were trying to make it up with $28 difference in a giftcard. Or that we can wait another 20 mins for the food but total wait time was already over an hr and a half. Then my husband asked to cancel our food order and waiter said alright he will cancel on his end. I don't understand why would the waiter lie to me, I felt so betrayed. I was so excited to try a new Italian place but just ended up with my food dreams dashed. [Lie 1] - So apparently they weren't working on our food order at all. [Lie 2]- Waiter said they couldn't cancel on their end but he did when my husband asked to cancel. [Lie 3] - the order status showed our food was done What happened to our food they probably served it to the indoor/outdoor diners. They were accepting more diners as they came in too. I wished they would have told us in the beginning that they wouldn't be able to make our food then we would have gone elsewhere. So much time was wasted. Over an hr and a half, it's just ridiculous. It was around 9pm when we left and they close at 9:30pm. I got duped, I'm too trusting and i trusted the waiters words that they were working on it. This is our first time canceling a restaurant order, I don't understand if the kitchen is so backed up why take more customers and I see food coming out of the kitchen. read more

We also ordered the vodka penne and gluten free spaghetti with red sauce and prawns. We just so happen to stop in during happy hour, so we also ordered the bruschetta and olives. Came here for the first time for a girl's night with a friend last week. We had an incredible time. Service was great and food was delicious. Just came for apps and wine, so we ordered a bottle of white with the beet salad, burrata and prosciutto, and bruschetta. Loved them all! I have only ordered the Free Range Chicken Sandwich because I enjoy it *that* much! It is prepared with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Avocado, Tomatoes, Mozzarella Cheese, & Pesto Aioli. I had the squid ink spaghetti with shrimp and it was super tasty, I gobbled it all up! My partner's mother had another delicious dish, their special of the day, shrimp and crab ravioli. The food here was amazing. Pictured is our appetizer platter. The fried artichokes were delicious. They had a thin, crispy coating and were not greasy at all. My main course had seafood including salmon, cod, prawns, and scallops, all of which were cooked perfectly. The waitstaff and owners were very attentive and delightful. A great spot for dinner! We loved the ambiance and the food. The restaurant provides complimentary focaccia bread (which is delicious), and the menu has a lot of good pasta choices as well as meat/fish choices. We ended up ordering the squid ink pasta, the chicken marsala, and the sautéed spinach. All 3 were amazing and the portion sizes were perfect! We came here for a birthday celebration. We were a pretty big group and had made a reservation. We still ended up waiting about 20 minutes for a table outside. I ordered their Wild Mushroom Tagliatelle with chicken. When my plate came out it was missing the chicken, they had placed it on a different plate--- the placed it on my brother's girlfriends pasta. Ok no worries, mistakes happen. They do serve a decent amount of food but when I bit into my pasta it was very disappointing. The only thing that had flavor was the grilled chicken. This was our second visit. Our first was two weeks ago when the wait at a restaurant up the street was two hours! The proprietor at Pranzi fit us in after 5 minutes. Our meal - Cesar salad, fish special, was delicious! The wine is a generous pour and excellent & fairly priced. Last night we returned and ate at the bar after one year of Covid restrictions finally loosened. Great service! My pasta tasted home made, all the food was great. Seated and greeted in no time flat. Their speciality drinks were all on the good side, but still a bit pricey. Still, all speciality drinks are pretty pricey in this day and age.
