It was his first time here. As usual, he started crying and was getting very uncomfortable. Women, beware! This is a spot made for men to get cheap hair cuts. And for us women with long thick hair, this place is NOT ideal. I thought that I'd just give it a try, but I so regret my decision and I should have ran when I had the chance. I had super long hair down to my hips, and I told him I only wanted an inch cut (just to get all the split ends out). I also needed my hair layered, which is what I get all the time from stylists because my hair's so thick. So I went through with the decision because I so needed a trim. Well. It was not a good choice, I'll tell you that. My hair's SO choppy, and it's not even layered. And instead of an inch, he managed to snip off 3 inches of my precious hair. He didn't even cut my bangs... I didn't understand his process of cutting my hair either. Why would you part my hair differently than what I had came in with? Why did he part my hair to the middle to cut it (I normally part my hair to my left)? And then at the end of it all, when I told him I did NOT like the middle parting, he parts my hair to my fucking right when I already told him it's to my left. LEFT!! Like what?! It's so freaking ugly. I so regret coming here. If I could rewind myself to the moment I walked into the store, and instead of signing my name on the sheets, I should have walked out the door! This sucks, I'm stuck with the SAME amount of hair, just shorter. So my head's still feeling heavy from all of my hair instead of it being layered correctly and feeling lighter. It's true, you get what you pay for. It was cheap. But. I'm NEVER coming back. read more

Okay, I'll get straight to the point here. If you're a guy, and you want a haircut, Tony is THE man to go to. Very nice guy, takes the time to actually get to know you, and most importantly, he's excellent at cutting your hair the way you want. If I could rate Tony by himself, he would get 5 stars easily. So why the extremely low rating? Because the experience I had today was unacceptable. Another staff member was RUDE, HOSTILE, AGGRESSIVE, and getting in my face and shouting at me without provocation (start at the 2nd to last paragraph to skip most of the story and read about this part). Let me explain. I went to the shop today looking to get a haircut. Unfortunately, they said Tony was on vacation. I've always only had Tony cut my hair, but I figured the other people working there must be decent enough for Tony to have hired them, so I decided to take a chance on someone other than Tony. I ended up with a guy named David. I always ask for the same haircut, which is really pretty simple- clean it up on the sides and back with #2, but don't make it too short, and trim the top a bit but leave it longer to style the front up using product. I even bring a picture with me to show them exactly how I want it. From the very first time going to this place, I told Tony these directions and showed him the photo, and he nailed the haircut perfectly. Today, I did the same with David, but since I wasn't familiar with David's haircutting and I wanted to be on the cautious side, I told him to leave the back and sides longer than the photo. However, he ruined my hair! He took his clippers and hacked a chunk of hair out of the back of my head and I immediately told him to stop. It was already too late though because he used a ZERO setting on his clippers, meaning that there's practically no hair left. Even my beard stubble is longer than my hair where the clippers cut it. Since the damage was already done, he had to go ahead and use the zero setting on the rest of the back and side of my head to even it out. But I didn't want him buzzing my entire head, so I told him to just leave the top. Because of this, I now have a very distinct line running across the back of my head-- the longer part on the top half and where he shaved the rest of it off on the bottom half. Not only is the entire thing too short, it doesn't even look professional. I have a lot of very important events and meetings to attend in the very near future and this really is not okay. Now, here's the real kicker and the reason for my low rating. At the end of the experience, David asks me what I thought of the cut. I honestly, but politely, told him in a calm manner that this wasn't what I wanted and I wasn't happy with it. Out of nowhere, he raises his voice and starts shouting at me, telling me that he cut my hair "exactly like the photo". I told him that it was extremely shorter than the photo, and in addition, I even asked for it longer than the photo. He continues shouting at me, tells me to take out the photo to compare it with my haircut, and insists that he cut it the way I had instructed. I repeat that this wasn't what I asked for and that I wasn't happy with the results. He yells at me to "Leave!" and "Get out!" and says that if I'm not happy then "Don't pay, just go! If you don't like it don't pay, just go leave!" At this point, everyone else in the small shop is staring at us because he was causing such a scene. The other customers and even the other haircutters were staring. I maintain my calm demeanor and tell him there's no need to shout at me, I'm being polite and talking to him calmly. Now David starts getting in my face, still yelling, and it seems like he might start swinging. David is a small man; I'm a lot bigger and taller than him, and I'm not intimidated by him, so I stand up in front of him. But I'm a professional and I don't want any trouble or marks on my record, so I tell him "Look, I don't want any trouble. I'll pay this time and next time, I just won't ask you for a haircut again. But you asked me what I thought about it and I gave you an honest answer in a polite manner." I paid David, obviously without tip, and promptly left with everyone still staring. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I was nothing but calm and polite. If a haircutter is unreceptive to feedback and cannot handle polite criticism from the customer about the job they did (especially after asking the customer for feedback), then they have no business cutting hair. Tony, if you're reading this, you need to have a serious talk with David. He needs a major attitude improvement and if he can't shape up, you need to fire him. Experiences like this are extremely bad for business. Despite how much I like Tony, I cannot recommend this place to others because of this happening. David is lucky that I am a calm and mature individual. If he acted out that way towards the wrong person, he may get roughed up pretty badly. read more

Since the previous owner, Kim, of Kim's Head to Toe retired and handed the shop over to Tony, tony has reinvented the shop and has done better than before. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality buzz from either tony himself or his brother David. And not to leave you ladies out, Tony has some great stylists in the shop to help you ladies tame your mane or touch up your claws and talons with a mani/pedi. I didn't get the gentlemans name who did my hair. So the salon I like Shear Perfection wasn't open today, but I already put oil in my hair in preparation for bleaching. I went to this place instead I get there, no one speaks English. I sign in and write that I want a bleaching. The guy keeps saying bleeking. First red flag. He takes me over to shampoo my hair before "bleeking" to get the oil out of my hair Second red flag. He uses his nails to shampoo my head and it's slightly painful. I don't say anything. He gets the bleach ready and uses 40 vol developer. I only use 10 or 20 at home or at the other salon. Third red flag. I'm already in this so I can't get out at this point. He starts putting bleach on the top of my head where the heat will develop the bleach the fastest instead of on the sides or back where it takes a while to develop. FOURTH RED FLAG. I start coming to terms that I might need to shave my head after this. He puts the cold bleach on my head then let's me sit there. I guess because it's 40 vol I don't need heat, but I ask for it anyways because heat makes my scalp less itchy. He doesn't understand that I want the hood. Then I start saying heat, I want heat. He gets me under the hood and I chill for about ten minutes. He takes me out, shampoos and conditions my hair, then blow dries it WITHOUT ANY PRODUCT. no heat protectant, no leave in conditioner, no nothing. Fifth and final red flag. I'm excited to leave, as he's ringing me up he says $50. I raise my eyebrows and give him my card. It's bull shit. I didn't want to make a scene, I just wanted to get out of there. I would not do any color treatment of ANY sort there. I'm sure that cuts are great, but I won't be taking my business back there. read more
