Rate 1 for Price. $485 (including $100 for "emergency service" - 5 PM on a Friday) Just feel that price is too high for a standard snake rooting of main sewer line If you're in a bind these guys can deliver, but you'll pay for it. They apologized and gave me a refund. Turns out the owner was on vacation and they used an unreliable answering service. ___________ My house was flooded during the storm so I called AB Plumbing to come out to see why. They put cameras in my sewer pipes and charged $300. They identified the issues and gave me a verbal quote for the work. Then... they disappeared. I called them several times asking for the written quote but haven't heard back from them in weeks. I also asked for a copy of the video, the receipt for the $300, and a copy of the written report. Not a word from them. They keep saying they'll call me back but never do. I've tried emailing them as well. As of right now, I don't recommend using them for any plumbing issues. read more

From the get-go, I was favorably impressed with Basilio and his brother. They showed up on time and ready to work on fixing our bathtub and bathroom sink plumbing. When the pressure wasn't as strong as it should be, they diligently worked to make sure the water flow was strong and steady. Very responsive and efficient. I called at noon to ask for a plumber to replace a broken shut-off valve under a sink., and was told they could be there between 1:00 and 2:00 pm. Although they arrived an hour later than scheduled and they apologized for being delayed at an earlier job, it was much sooner than I could have expected, and with a short window period. They fixed the job quickly, and even went to a local hardware store to get a non-plastic valve, replacing the broken one with a better quality version than I had in the house to begin with. Since I had a $20 coupon they had left earlier in the neighborhood, the cost was a very reasonable $130. read more

I called in. My traditional water heater needed to be replaced with a tankless water heater. They hooked me up with one of their lead guys. He asked via text for pictures of the site in order to provide a quote. I sent detailed photographs. They quoted 1,600. 1,600 is an above average price, cool, whatever, lets just get this done. They said it would take an hour. I took the day off work. They showed up and said, yeah, that will take 2 hours. We have to move a pipe. OK cool Then they quoted 4,000. Why? Because the exhaust has to be steel, not tin - but thats 18 dollars. The natural gas line has to be moved 12 inches. OK, I get it, that's a pain. But how is this 4,000 dollars? This was super confusing, so I texted the thumbtack thread and they said, we didn't know you had an electric water water. My water heater(s) are natural gas. Nothing changed. It was always natural gas. This is so confusing. Come on. People. You are supposed to be experts. I sent you pictures every step of the way. There is a big yellow pipe that says natural gas in the pictures. I'm over it. These guys are ripping people off. Full on home visit RIP OFF. BEWARE. read more

The techs were very nice and courteous. However, they tried to bargain different methods to flush out the pipe between the garage and washing machine. That is not the problem and the washer does Not back up. The cost kept changing. They wanted $400.00. They then tried to get me to use a camera which is $1800.00. Since they offer a free consult I told them to leave. When I came in and checked the bathroom there was water everywhere. Before they left they said they had left their gear in the bathroom so they know it was flooded and didn't tell me. I guess because I wouldn't buy any of their "services". One of the techs could not speak English. Just finished washing my clothes and no back up. They just try to sell you unneeded services. read more

They did a ton of work on my house and told me they used printable caulking where they cut into my walls. After having the work repainted, all the paint peeled off their caulking. This has caused me a fair amount of trouble and I will need to redo the caulking and paint. read more

I had to disconnect the water line to move my refrigerator to get ready for the installation of new kitchen flooring. Not much of a handyman, but I know how a shut off valve works and one end of a wrench from another so figured what could go wrong? Well it turned out the 20-year old shut off valve had crapped out and when I disconnected the line water started gushing everywhere! After shutting off the main water line I called AB Plumbing. It being after normal business hours I told the person who answered my plight and was told someone would call me back in 10 minutes. - Basilio called me back in about 5 and was at my place within 15 minutes. Turned out the age of the valve wasn't the only problem as it wasn't even threaded to the pipe so it couldn't be removed. Basilio was very resourceful and found the parts to rebuild the valve saving me from a much more expensive re-piping valve replacement. He was also very courteous, took precautions to protect the surrounding area, and left the work area cleaner than he found it. - I have already had Basilio back to replace a leaky dishwasher hose and snake out the drain to one of our sinks. Basilio is definitely my go-to guy for plumbing from here on! Can't recommend Basilio and A.B. Plumbing highly enough. 3/23/14: Original rating of 5-stars reduced to 3-stars as my Saturday morning was wasted due to a "scheduling mix up" and the rescheduled Sunday afternoon appointment was just canceled due to "a family emergency". I know stuff happens and still believe AB does good work. Hopefully 3rd time will be the charm for the work remaining to be done, but my original enthusiasm is definitely waning. 3/28/14: 3rd time was the charm so I'm once again a fan!! read more

I like to imagine that I'm a great DIY plumber. I have an active delusional imagination about a lot of things but to stay on topic here, I recently tried to fix my 1920's era slow draining kitchen sink. On Friday. At 4:00pm. With house guests arriving the next day...what could possibly go wrong? Twenty minutes into it with the crumbled remnants of a pipe that was made of, I'm not sure, adobe perhaps, in my hands I realized I needed the pro's to take over. Had a messy situation with water leaking from the unit above through one of my light fixtures. Called AB and they had someone here quickly on Sunday. Basilio quickly figured out what was happening and proposed a solution that worked for all the residents (multi unit building). Basilio got the drain line cleared and another drain out as well.
