    This is one of those dining experiences that created a core dining memory. Our experience was nothing short of outstanding. The restaurant is bright and lively. The ambience was a perfect match to what you'd expect for 'modern wine country.' The server was sweet and attentive. But, the team based approached won us over. The six-course meal with the wine pairing was satisfying. Then, the manager gave us a private tour of the kitchen and wine cellar and we were speechless. We rounded off the night with night caps at the bar. The photos have the descriptions of the dishes.

    We were excited to go here after seeing chef Tessier on TV and realizing his resturant was so close. Our server was amazing the resturant was very nice inside, the food had good flavors. My issue is if you dont purchase their overpriced pretzel and caviar or any other additional items then you will leave hungry which has never happened to me with a tasting menu before. They say it is 7 courses but 1 of the courses is simply a palette cleanser We may try them again for in the future but we will not be doing their "7" course menu again. It was not worth the price tag.

    While the restaurant setting was beautiful and the service was fine, my husband and I found the food underwhelming for a Michelin-starred restaurant. We opted for the four-course prix fixe menu, and many of the dishes felt more focused on technique than flavor. Throughout the meal, several flavor combinations didn't work and many dishes leaned either salty, one-note, or bland. APPETIZERS Chips and dip: This consisted of salmon skin paired with what seems to be their attempt at elevated guacamole. The salmon skin could have benefited from some seasoning, while the guacamole was too citrus-forward that it overwhelmed the avocado. We were also served an asparagus welcome drink that tasted like asparagus water with light cream which did not taste good. Sumac-cured halibut: The very tart vinaigrette overpowered everything in this dish. American wagyu tartare: Overall okay. Lacked a kick that would have made it memorable. Lobster chawanmushi: Chawanmushi was silky and the lobster was perfectly cooked. I really enjoyed the green curry foam, although it leaned salty. The pickles were also quite sour. Caramelle with truffles: Delicate corn flavor, but the dish felt bland overall and the truffle was barely noticeable. ENTREES Black truffle-glazed chicken: Impressive technique with sausage stuffed beneath the skin and tender chicken. Unfortunately, the sausage was overly salty and tart, which overpowered the chicken and any truffle flavor. This was supposed to be some kind of award-winning dish, but it didn't live up to its reputation. King salmon: The biggest disappointment of the meal. We were told king salmon is fattier than a salmon like sockeye, but the cuts were lean. We were also told it would be served mostly raw with a sear. It came to us with very little sear and no seasoning we could appreciate. It also came with a cucumber-based sauce which added little flavor. Overall, this was a bland and uninspired dish. It might as well have been served like sashimi for a more enjoyable experience. DESSERTS Smoked yogurt panna cotta: Refreshing but lacked any noticeable smokiness. Vanilla and champagne parfait: Overpowered by the alcohol. At the end of the meal, they gave us calamansi jelly and bonbons. The jelly was so sour it was nearly mouth-puckering. The bonbon was fine. To the restaurant's credit, the pacing of dish service was good and courses arrived in a timely manner without a huge gap in between them. Michelin-starred restaurants can be a hit or miss and, unfortunately, PRESS falls into the latter category for us.

    Press has been on my radar for a while now. I visited it when it was a steakhouse and loved it. But distance played a part in me not coming back. Once I read that Philip Tessier took over I was intrigued. Tessier has the distinct honor of winning one of the most prestigious fine dining team competitions in the world. And he delivered in SPADES! Our experince was amazing. The dining area is an exercise in warmth and style without pretense. It is a place you would perfectly at home in a sport coat or jeans with polo. The dining room has lots neutra browns, tans and white. Class with comfort in mind. Press also has some outdoor seating which would be great on a warm Napa day or night. The food is amazing! Everything I sampled was very good to excellent. My favorites: - Cold Gazpacho Soup with Rice Foam: This amuse-bouche was simply amusing! The rice foam really provided a nice lingering finish. - Steak Tartare with Garbanzo Bean Tapenade: By far my favorite dish! The texture of the waygu tartare was wonderful. It reminded me of firm fresh tuna for some reason. Combined with the salted soft toasted bread. I could of eaten it as my main. -Fogile de fava: This was a close second for me. The fogile was cooked to al dente perfection. And EVERYTHING tastes better with black truffle butter! - Ribeye: Perfect medium rare! The sugar snap peas were garden fresh and provide nice texture and sweet balance. -Drinks: I had the Pinot and my girl had the Chardonnay. Both were excellent! The sommelier took great care in choosing his wines by the glass because each paired nicely with corresponding dishes on the menu. Well done! Service was impeccable. The greeter was friendly and seated us right away. Our waiter was good with suggestions and descriptions of food/beverages. Each dish was presented with corresponding descriptions. Water glasses never empty. Pacing was just right. All things you expect from a Michelin restaurant. Bravo Press!!! I hope you get your **.

    Press was an incredible, out of body experience. Star of the show was the pork chop - crispy, fatty, and juicy all at once. I also really enjoyed the appetizers. Chinese inspired wings, pretzels and salmon skin chips - really unique and innovative twists on classics. Vibes were really great as well. Service was attentive and fast. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting and open to splurging on a nice meal.

    Loved Press. Exquisite service, warm but high-end dining room, and impeccable food. The precision of each dish was spectacular. Fantastic wine list. We had so much fun. Butternut squash soup with cardamom - Palate cleanser. Lovely start. Turnips with poached apple, garden sorrel, turnip veloute - Never had turnips this was way, inspired! Scallop Crudo - Delicate and balanced. Ricotta Gnudi with Meyer lemon, spring herb broth - I was so sad when I finished this, bring me at least 3 more. Wagyu tartare with sunchoke chili crisp, farm lettuces - Loved the bitterness of the lettuces with the tartare. Eye of ribeye, morel mushrooms, charred sugar snap peas - Just amazing. Monkfish, daikon, fennel - I was surprised at the selection of monkfish which can very challenging to cook. But they did it, and it was great. Milk chocolate mousse with peanut ice cream, caramel banana jam - Combination was to die for. Vanilla & Champagne parfait, pear compote, candied winter citrus - Nothing was out of place, delicious. Petit fours and coffee - Usually an afterthought but here they do not cut corners. Coffee was done right as well.

    Had a magical time celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and baby moon at PRESS! They greeted us with a card signed by all staff, which was a sweet surprise. I was also really surprised by their playlist selection, and thought it gave a good vibe to the restaurant. Our server was a very kind gentleman (I wish I remembered his name!) who made the experience very comfortable for us. This is the best pre fixe menu we've had, and we value our culinary experiences. It was also so special that they brought out a few extra desserts for us to really celebrate our anniversary. We will be back!!!

    If you're looking for expensive High end dining with very good service, this is the place. We tried the 4 course prix fixe menu which was enough food for us. The place got pretty crowded as the evening wore on. Most of the dishes we had were very good. I wasn't thrilled with my fish. It had a fishy odor and was a tad salty. They have a new bakery that opened on the other side of the building. We will have to return one day to try it.

    Our group had a lovely experience at PRESS (- 4.5-star experience). The restaurant feels modern and welcoming without being overly formal. The kitchen was spotless and well-organized, and the ambience was relaxed and comfortable, with R&B and '90s music setting a chill mood. Because we were a group of eight, we booked a private room and selected the menu in advance. I truly enjoyed most of the dishes, especially the squash and halibut dishes - flavorful yet light and elegant. PRESS really elevates its food through intentional ingredients and a thoughtful balance of flavors. The service was professional and attentive. One small detail really stood out: my husband cuts with his left hand, and a staff member noticed and adjusted the placement of his utensils without being asked. We were genuinely impressed. Portions were very reasonable - we left satisfied but not overly full. I'd happily bring my family back to.

    A bit belated post. We went for Christmas. Sometimes it is good to write a review a few months later. Because if there is any dish that I still remember after such a long time, it means it is truly outstanding (or terrible)! The only dish I remembered is the desert (red rock cheddar with persimmon and steam pudding cake). The combination was amazing. The cheddar is definitely memorable with blue cheese (?) imbedded in the cheddar to create a marble like look and a contrast of taste. It goes really well with persimmon. Pair made in heaven!

    We dined at Press on a Saturday evening after missing out on a reservation at French Laundry. We had heard that Press was just as impressive, so our expectations were understandably high. To start with the positives, the ambiance is beautiful and energetic. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere, and as someone in our group works as a DJ, the playlist was especially appreciated. The cocktails were also excellent--fresh, fruit-forward, and refreshing. I also want to recognize our server, who was one of the highlights of the evening. Our group had a lot of questions and took our time deciding what to order, yet he remained incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the entire meal. He never made us feel rushed and were happy to walk us through the menu, offer recommendations, and answer questions. The level of service was warm, professional, and genuinely deserving of recognition. One issue we noticed immediately was how tightly packed the tables were. The dining room felt overcrowded, and navigating between tables was difficult. Throughout the evening, we watched multiple guests near us--including ourselves--struggle to get in and out of the booths without bumping into neighboring tables. For a restaurant at this price point, a little more space and comfort would have gone a long way. For appetizers and shared plates, we ordered the wagyu tartare, ricotta gnudi, lobster chawanmushi, pretzel with caviar, pork terrine, sweet corn pasta with truffles, salmon skin chips with dip, and a lobster roll. Surprisingly, the standout dish of the evening was the salmon skin chips and dip. It was flavorful, unique, and the only dish that had us wanting more. The pretzel with caviar yogurt was also enjoyable. Beyond those dishes, however, most of the food was forgettable. The pork terrine was particularly disappointing. The texture and flavor reminded us more of processed lunch meat with mustard than a refined terrine. It was one of the few dishes we genuinely did not enjoy and left unfinished. The biggest disappointment of the evening was the entrées. Our group of four opted for two tomahawks, one cooked medium rare and the other medium rare plus. While tomahawks are not known for having the same marbling as some other premium cuts, we still expected a well-seasoned, juicy steak from a restaurant carrying a Michelin star. Instead, both steaks were surprisingly tough and chewy. Multiple people at the table struggled to cut through the meat, even with steak knives. The seasoning was underwhelming, and neither steak delivered the tenderness or richness we expected. As a group, we unanimously agreed that we've had significantly better tomahawks at many non-Michelin steakhouses. This was particularly disappointing because the steak is such a centerpiece of the menu and should have been the highlight of the meal. Dessert was similarly underwhelming. We ordered the panna cotta, milk chocolate mousse, and a savory dessert. The panna cotta and mousse were pleasant enough, but neither was memorable. The savory dessert was largely untouched and failed to resonate with anyone at the table. Overall, Press delivered excellent service, a beautiful atmosphere, and great cocktails, but the food fell short of the expectations created by its reputation, Michelin recognition, and price point. While our server's professionalism and hospitality elevated the experience, the cramped seating, mostly forgettable appetizers, disappointing tomahawk steaks, and underwhelming desserts left us feeling that the meal did not justify the cost. We left appreciating the staff far more than the food itself.

    There is so much to like about Press ... really nice space, mostly great service, but the wine program leaves a lot to be desired. We got there about 10 minutes early and told by hostess the bar was open... however bartender made it clear they weren't ready which came across rude. Fortunately Bridgette,our server, and Victor part of wait staff made the experience much more enjoyable. The four course meal was universally great... pretzel with caviar, gnudi, monkfish, etc. Unfortunately the lauded wine program left a lot to be desired... Somm wasn't very knowledgeable amd wine list was very out of date. Wine list missing items they have but even worse showing things they didn't have. Two bottles in a row that they didn't have. First bottle we got was clearly oxidized but Somm argued with us and didn't want to get beverage director. Fortunately our fourth choice turned out to be a great wine. Bottom line.. go for the food not the wine. Avoid the bar but ask for Bridgette and Victor.

Deep, rich, and comforting without being heavy. Even the cheese course felt like its own story, layered with texture and temperature that kept evolving. What stood out most was the restraint. Nothing was excessive. No unnecessary theatrics. Just exceptional ingredients treated with respect. And their cocktails deserve real credit too. Thoughtful, balanced, and beautifully composed. Not just something to drink while you wait, but something that belonged in the experience alongside the food. The space itself feels warm and grounded. Elegant without being intimidating. The kind of place where conversations slow down and you actually stay present. This is not a casual dinner spot. This is where you go when the moment matters. Press doesn't try to impress you. It simply does.

This restaurant is located among Brasswood's other businesses: winery, bakery cafe, and some retail store (that I didn't check out). there's a large inside dining room with interesting decor, and there's an outside seating area in the back as well, which overlooks the courtyard in the middle of all the business (which has a nice water fountain thing in the middle). the middle of courtyard looks like it's set up for weddings. I opted to sit outside since it was a nice day as did most of their other customers at the time. Our server was polite and professional. - fresh mozzarella with toasted bread: I don't know why this isn't listed on the menu since it's the biggest reason to come here. Fresh pulled mozzarella that they cut up tableside and serve on some freshly charred and toasted bread. It's not just nice, fresh mozzarella; they season it properly along with a drizzle of olive oil. So good. - heirloom tomatoes with balsamic vinegar: this is also not on the menu, but it's probably seasonal and based on the availability of good quality tomatoes. delicious. a perfect complement to the mozzarella, really. is it pricey at $12 for a few pieces of tomato? yes, but I'd do it again. - Short Rib Sugo (slow-cooked short ribs, carrot, & onion sofrito, mushrooms, cabernet sauvignon, parmesan, house-made pappardelle pasta): this was a solid dish. basically, what you'd expect. nice and rich. I think they used a touch too much rosemary when seasoning this dish, but not enough to ruin it. - Duck Bolognese (sonoma duck, classic mirepoix & red wine, pecorino romano, house-made pappardelle pasta): this was also delightful. it ate similar to the short rib sugo in that it was this rich, delicious pasta dish. I found this one more to my liking compared to the short rib sugo, but I think they're both fine dishes. - The Brasswood Burger (meat, cheddar cheese, & ketchup only): this was a variation of their standard burger that was ordered for a kid. I had a few bites of it. while the bun was just plain great, the patty itself was dry & overcooked. they didn't ask for the doneness of the meat when we ordered, and perhaps, they just hammered the thing since it was being served to a kid. - French Fries: these were served with the burger. they were very nice. thin and crispy. good fries! - Chocolate Mousse Cake (cranberry sauce, chantilly cream, amaretti cookie): this was very chocolately. almost too chocolatey, but the cranberry sauce and chantilly cream played a nice foil to the richness of the chocolate. I wasn't sure if I'd like the chocolate & cranberry combination, but it worked nicely. A good dessert for chocolate lovers.

I got the short rib pasta. Definitely a winner. Very satisfying. My wife got the ahi salad which had loads of fresh ingredients and very tasty. Service was very attentive and professional, this is a must do in Napa Valley

I'd heard that the buttermilk fried chicken was a specialty here, so we decided to share that. We also ordered oysters, peel and eat shrimp, and a green salad to balance out the heaviness of the fried chicken. The oysters and the shrimp were brought out first. Both of these were great, refreshing appetizers to have on a warm day. The fried chicken and the salad were brought out shortly after. There is a sauce to go with the chicken, that is recommended on the menu but you have to order it separately. I do recommend getting that sauce as it was delicious. The exterior of the chicken was perfectly crisp and it gave way to a juicy interior. We both really enjoyed it. The green salad felt necessary after the decadence of the chicken. Service was friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend visiting while you're in Napa.

We had a reservation for 4 and after getting taken care of by the courteous host and being welcomed by our waitress, we were left with waters and the menu. To get the most of the experience, my brother thought we should all share several items. We shared their famous Pork Chops, Duck Confit, Ribs and Cornbread, Squash Risotto, and a side of Green Beans. We were offered fresh bread and butter prior to the arrival of our entrees and shortly after enjoying the soft pillowy bread, we were ready for more. My parents, being Cantonese and coming from the restaurant background, really care about having fresh and quality ingredients and letting the flavors shine - not letting sauces dictate the dish. Despite it being American fare, they quite enjoyed each dish and went back for additional helpings after giving a small initial taste of each item. Our visit to Mustards Grill ended up being a joyous meal where my parents got more exposure to the wonders of quality American cuisine as well as marked a good start to the day we were spending in wine county.

We had reservations for 11AM, by the time it was 11:30AM, about 85% of the restaurant was filled. By noon? All the tables were taken! Come early, get seated, relax. Service: We had the privilege of having Dwight be our server this afternoon. He was an absolute gem who loves his job, and loves what he does. He explained to us the specials, and some of the dishes he liked; he was a big help! We settled on a few things: the chicken wings (a MUST-HAVE; they are smoked first --- then fried; then tossed in a bit of a sweet seasoning --- it hits all the taste buds!). We also got the sweet potatoes --- good, nothing to write mom about. In addition, I had to get the famous Mongolian Porkchops. Dwight suggested to get it medium (I was a bit apprehensive --- it is pork), but always "trust the chef". So I did. My meal was EXCELLENT. The porkchop was perfectly grilled with some charred bits, and the meat was tender and juicy. Thank you Dwight for your suggestion! All-in-all, Mustards Grill is a MUST if you're ever staying in the Napa Valley. They received a Michelin Star in 2025, and if you try their food, you can clearly see why. After your finished with your meal, step outside and make a right --- and take some photos next to the vineyard. You are in Napa after all!

The atmosphere outside was lovely and much more enjoyable, as the dining room inside was surprisingly loud during our visit. The sourdough was good, though it definitely leaned heavily into the tangy side of sourdough. If you enjoy a strong, sour flavor profile, you'll likely love it. The miso Caesar was the dish I was most excited to try. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, and there were moments when the flavors came together beautifully. However, I found the dish somewhat inconsistent. Some bites were perfectly balanced, while others were overwhelmed by the miso, making the flavor profile a bit uneven throughout the salad. The fries were absolutely incredible and tasted homemade. They had a perfectly crispy exterior with a pillowy soft interior, creating the ideal texture in every bite. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly executed, they were easily one of the highlights of the meal. The true stars of the evening, however, were the burger and the steak. Both were cooked to perfection and showcased the restaurant's ability to let high quality ingredients shine. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and expertly prepared. My only wish was that caramelized onions had been available, as I think they would have elevated the burger even further. Unfortunately they were unable to accommodate that request, but they were happy to provide raw onions on the side, which was appreciated. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and packed with flavor. These were the dishes that stood out most to us and are what we would recommend ordering without hesitation. Overall, Charter Oak delivered some memorable dishes, particularly the burger, steak, and fries. Combined with the beautiful patio setting, it made for a very enjoyable Napa dining experience.
