DO NOT HIRE THESE MOVERS!!! I booked my move 6 1/2 weeks beforehand to get the day and time I wanted. They were supposed to arrive at 9am. They did not, and when I called I was told 9-10. When they didn't show up at 10, I was told some crew didn't show up and it would be noon. When noon came and went, I was told we will call you when we are on the way. I was giving possession of the house to the new owners at 6pm. The movers showed up at 3:40pm. I had about 6 small items that wouldn't fit in the truck, so I had to haul them to a neighbor. The crew was so tired after working 12 hours they were moaning and just dumped all my boxes anywhere they could. When they finished at 9:15, the owner did nothing to compensate me for the horrible, horrible day, and took all my money so that I had nothing to tip the movers. Then I noticed my nicest floor lamp was missing. I called and was told they would check in the morning and call me. No one called. I called the next day and was told, "they put it in your garage". I told him it was not in the garage. I got no response. I asked Roger to fill out a claim for the lamp. He asked me to send a picture of it. I did, and got no response. I have emailed him asking for an update of the claim. No response. I guess I will end up in small claims court. Horrible customer service!! Update: I love Yelp! Within 15 minutes of posting this review I received a call from Prestige Movers. They came out at the end of the day and reimbursed me for the missing lamp. read more

As stated in my last review, I used this company to move out of my old place and now that I returned from deployment, I did not hesitate to use this company again to move in to my new place. As expected, I was not disappointed! I contacted Roger 4 days in advance and he did not hesitate to get me scheduled in for a time that worked for me. The arrival time was 8-9 am at the PODS warehouse to unload and pack the truck. Taylor and Patrick (I apologize if the spelling is incorrect) arrived promptly at 0815 and got right to work. I attempted to help bring things out of the pod but they were so efficient that I ended up just being in the way. Within 30-45 minutes they had the pod emptied and truck fully loaded and we were on the road. We made it to my new house and again, with no hesitation, they began the walk through and I told them where everything should go. Right to it they went and were very perceptive and asked for clarification if they didn't know exactly where an item went. Everything made it into the house with no damage or issues. Taylor and Patrick were seriously awesome and I couldn't have done it without the help. From start to finish it took less than 3 hours for 2 people to move me into a 3 bedroom home. I don't know how there are bad reviews other than isolated incidents. Just sounds like grumpy customers that have nothing else to complain about. DO NOT HESITATE TO BOOK PRESTIGE FOR YOUR MOVE! My third time using Prestige Movers, and I have never been let down! Spectacular service with a professional, efficient, positive staff! They came in and got a tour, asked what I wanted moved to where, and off they went! They (2 movers) wrapped all of my furniture and moved an entire house in around 2 hours. We drove to my new house, gave them a tour of where we wanted all the furniture and boxes, and again they got right to it. They took even less time unpacking, and were friendly to us and my daughter, talking and making jokes with her to make her comfortable. Roger with Prestige REALLY helped me out of a bind with an out of state mover who showed up late, was unprepared with sufficient crew/supplies and tried to get me to pay $4000 more. I found Prestige on a Sunday, desperate to find an outfit that could get my 3 BD home stuff moved out on time and Roger saved the day!! His crew showed up ontime the very next day(!), with 4 men and sufficient crew/supplies and even obtained a local storage site for my stuff. I highly recommend Prestige Movers. read more

TLDR; Prestige had some issues, particularly around the handling of our piano, but the customer service is remarkable and the guys are friendly and hard working. We had a pretty difficult move (upright piano down 2 flights of stairs) and Prestige had said they were up to the task. I got my quote over the phone and they agreed that the piano would be no issue and the price seemed reasonable and would include 2 guys for a flat rate for three hours with the added cost of a third guy for the piano built in. Everything over the three hours is extra at a pro-rated rate. We had packed everything ahead of time and paired down a bunch of the stuff so there were about 40 boxes (a few large boxes, most were medium or small, nothing that required a 2 person lift), 3 pieces of furniture, some loose odds and ends, and the piano. Simple job in our eyes aside from the piano. They show up and start moving stuff out, and I will say that they were all very friendly and courteous, though somewhat unprofessional (making jokes and swearing at each other). One guy was taking extra care to wrap our furniture to make sure it was safe on the truck, which was nice. We get to the piano and find that they are ill prepared to move it. They don't have boards for the stairs, they have a dolly but that's all. I know I mentioned the piano over the phone and it went into the notes. The solution to getting the piano down the stairs was to cartwheel it end over end and dolly it on its side for the last stretch. Pianos are not supposed to do cartwheels, just saying. Timing wise they were a little slow. We had moved a 2 bedroom home (including a full house worth of furniture) previously in 3 hours including travel and stopping at 2 locations to pick up belongings from storage (and that was moving everything upstairs). My wife and I mentioned it and they sped up but we didn't get out of the house and enroute to our new place until the three hour mark, which means extra cost. They unload us super fast, but it still ends up costing us an extra half hour. Edit: Right after posting this review originally, Rodger got back to me and asked what he could do to make the experience we had better. We talked over the phone and he did everything that he could to make up for any parts of the move that went less than ideal. That fact that he cared enough to reach out to the customer and try to smooth over any rough edges speaks volumes about his ethics and his care for quality customer service. read more

Within 3 hour we were moved and travel time was included. No hidden extra cost Roger gives you an invoice explains clearly what the estimate total will be. They damaged our furniture, broke a piece of glass for a table the same table they lost the legs to. The owner claimed he would have his insurance people take care of it and we never heard from them again and this was almost two months ago. Now we have a table and chairs that we can't use now because these people lost pieces to our table and never offered to replace it or compensate us for losing our stuff. Don't use these people if you value your belongings or have nice furniture. Were debating on taking legal action against them. read more

I am disappointed. My wife and I were planning on moving to a condo in Mission Valley from our 1 bedroom apartment in University Heights. We both agreed thay for the amount of stuff we had acquired during the year and change of living there that movers were a good option. I had compared rates and did some digging and found out that since it is standard practice to have a three hour minimum that a Groupon for 2 hours made little sense. No big deal. So I got a Groupon for three hours and a 2 man crew with Prestige. I figured since they were well rated that they would handle the job well. I called and made the reservation and put down the deposit and mentioned the groupon deal and had everything handeled. My reservation was to have an arrival window of 12pm to 4pm on Saturday. Fast forward to Saturday. At 12pm no movers. Not surprised because it was likely that their previous job was taking longer than expected. By 115pm I still had no communication so I called Prestige. They said they would talk to the driver and call me back. I received a call at 252pm from Bruce the driver saying they would "be there in 1 hour." That was still in the arrival window so alright. 352pm rolls around and no driver. 422pm and I called again to find out when they were coming. I was told by either Bruce or Wade that they had just entered my address into gps and were leaving from Escondido. 530 something I get a call from Wade that they were having difficulty finding the address. After getting that sorted out they finally arrived. So at this point I am understandably upset. My movers are now 90 minutes late with little communication by anyone. But Bruce and Wade definitely helped brighten the experience. They were quick and efficient in loading and did their best to apologize for the bumpy experience so far. They did mention that they were on fumes with theor truck and being new to the area didn't know where the nearest gas station was. So I offered to show them when they were ready. Here's where I begin having issues again. I was told that this was their second job and that they should have had a third person on the crew. They also mentioned that they had not gotten any sort of break during their 12 plus hour day. So while they were getting gas they took a break to have a bite to eat. Understandable especially since they hadn't gotten one all day. They unloaded the truck again efficiently and quickly and were apologetic about the wait. I did appreciate their demeanor and courtesy. They had excellent personalities. Then at right around midnight, they finished and got the damage from Bruce. $707 and change. Looking at the receipt, they gave mw the promotional rate for Groupon and 3.5 hours at standard rate plus $40 for about 12 feet of stretch wrap (per Wade) and 2 rolls of packing tape. Now I am having to contact them again to sort out how my $230 that I already paid to Groupon is to be paid to them. I want to be VERY CLEAR. Bruce and Wade were great, personable, and empathetic. The ownership made little effort to keep me in the loop and nothing to compensate for not only the late arrival, but the break for his crew during my move, and the unclear rates online. While I would hire Bruce and Wade again, this exoerience has soured me on this company and so Buyer Beware. UPDATE: I received a call this morning from Rodger, the owner or manager of prestige Movers to clear up any of the miscommunications that we had from the move. He read my review of the company and wanted to follow up first thing in the morning. He helped clear up the Groupon voucher issue, and issued a credit for the refueling and the break. It is this kind of attention to detail, and actually caring enough to read the reviews, that makes this review better. While I cannot give them 5 stars due to the previous night's events, the excellent service and follow-up communication help to rescue it from its previous two star rating. Hopefully, my review and feedback of this company will help to bring many more 5 Star reviews in the future. read more

I had a very mixed experience and ultimately was pretty unsatisfied. Our move got complicated when we didn't know if we could close escrow on time, and it was a Friday. I called and they said they didn't need the truck they would be using over the weekend and would keep our furniture in the truck for us. To me this was above and beyond and I was very happy. The movers were all very friendly. Everything went well until they moved our refrigerator. For some reason they did not tape the doors shut or wrap it with any blankets. This is was a 2 year old stainless steel refrigerator with no blemishes, dents, etc. While they were moving it, the refrigerator door opened and came off the hinge. The hinge on the refrigerator and the door were both damaged. They also put a decent sized dent in the freezer door. They fixed the door and the hinge and put it back together. They offered $300 for the dent in the freezer door which would cover replacement, which again was totally fair and I was happy. I should have checked the refrigerator door after they repaired it and re-installed it because after cleaning it we found 4 dents and the handle was scratched significantly. Pros: they were willing to go out of their way to store our furniture over the weekend, the movers were very friendly, they repaired the damage they caused, and they reimbursed us for the damage they caused. Cons: they didn't sufficiently care for our refrigerator which resulted in the damage and the damage was much worse than we understood. Admittedly, we didn't inspect the door well enough, but in my opinion they should have inspected it and realized it needed to be replaced. The pros were certainly great but unfortunately the cons well outweigh them and I would not recommend this company. If you do hire them, be sure to inspect everything really well. If you do report damage I do believe they would try to make it right. read more

I purchased a Groupon which does not state that you have to call and schedule a date BEFORE actually purchasing the deal. All service vendors like salons etc say "requires an appointment" which doesn't translate to "must call before purchasing" like the contact person rudely told me over the phone. Roger Blunt's name describes him well because he is curt and off-putting from the start. On top of that, the movers were 2.5 hours late. Some of it was due to traffic but in reality, the guys probably took a lunch break which is fine, but they should've been honest and transparent rather than lie, not even notify me and make me anxious for 2.5 hours. Rather, I had to call three times to get updates. The actual movers were okay and courteous but the overall experience was not exceptional. I do not recommend this company because they failed to live up to their website and reviews. There is no shortage of moving companies, I regret choosing them after researching a dozen local movers. read more

And even now a week later when I found that a couple of metal racks are missing from my garage, Roger tells me I don't remember how many racks I had. They were 3.5 hours late, dropped items off of their dolly a few times and took 4.5 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment within the same complex. Roger spent a bit of time on his phone! The icing on the cake was the comment about how much stuff I have. They seemed inexperienced and I would not recommend them to anyone!!! They packed my flat panel smart TV carefully, disassembled and reassembled my bed frame without any problems, transported all furniture and items with extreme care. Roger with Prestige Movers did a fantastic job coordinating our cross country move! He carefully wrapped and moved our belongings, properly researched how to secure our Harley Davidson motorcycle in the truck, and towed our long bed pick up truck behind the moving truck about 1500 miles. The only incident we had was apparently our 75" TV, (despite being meticulously wrapped and in pristine condition upon delivery) suffered an internal malfunction... maybe the Texas heat, maybe a bump in the road, who knows... rendering it useless. We notified Roger right away, sent him a copy of our receipt, and within a few weeks we had a check in hand for the amount we paid for the TV, not replacement value. Roger said he negotiated that deal with his insurance company. That was a very nice surprise since our replacement TV was only half as much! I didn't really shop around for movers but I did comparison shop the storage box moving option and Roger's price was only slightly more. Totally worth it for the convenience, service and expertise that Roger and his crew provided. I should also note that I called or texted Roger quite a few times asking for updates or general questions and he always responded quickly. That gave me the most peace of mind. Another noteworthy item is that we have never met Roger in person, we moved out of our California house with just some clothes and our truck trailing our airstream and went on vacation while our best friends met Roger at our home, got the quote for us, then met him there again on moving day to coordinate our move with Roger. We weren't even there for our move! This point probably says more about our awesome friends but I wanted to mention it because I appreciated how flexible Roger was with what was probably a pretty unusual move. I felt confident in hiring them since they were professional and available on such short notice. The day I was planning on the move it was pouring down hard. They still came and handled it beautifully. The two movers were efficient and careful. Quick and polite. Their companies moving truck was just the right size and we made it in one trip. We hired Prestige for our recent move after calling around for quotes and, not only were they one of the most highly rated companies here, their quote was significantly more affordable than all the rest. We had to change our move date several times due to delays in escrow, and each time I called to reschedule, they were incredibly accommodating and patient (I was certain they would fire me as a customer at some point). When moving day finally arrived, our movers showed up right at the start of their arrival window, were very personable and courteous, and were able to get the job done within the estimated timeframe.
