Very busy at Pret this morning. The line was long and moved quickly. I got a chocolate croissant in no time. Staff were efficient and nice. The croissant was fresh and flaky. The taste was buttery and chocolatey. Delish!

Fantastic quick coffee and breakfast at Union Station! Service was quick and friendly. I love that alternative milks are included and not an extra charge. The greek egg white frittata was amazing and a filling breakfast.

Rushing from a train to work can leave little time for browsing yummy things to grab on the way. Even more challenging is scouring the shelves in the numerous venues for anything that is portable and healthy to the work desk, jobsite, or next transportation vehicle. "Convenience" is part of the language that Pret a Manger ( Pret a mangay - took me years to say it all Frenchie) wants to speak to us. They are located right at the corner of the foot traffic that flows through the station from every direction. The cheerfully lit shelves quickly clear of the continuous fresh products (salads, sandwiches, oatmeal, wraps, yogurts, fruits, etc.) stocked throughout the day. The hardest part of selecting the item to enjoy because they all look so good. It's nice to try something new from each visit to get the through the standard selection that they carry. They keep it consistently fresh and nothing gets stored overnight. I'm hooked on the Greek yogurt with fruit. I will pair it with a juice or coffee that they have a good selection of as well. Their baked goods are minimal and just right to appeal to a random crowd. The bagels sit near the cookies and you see them when you reach the counter, so you have to make a impulsive decision within seconds. The check out process moves FAST. They get you in and out to your next destination. Plus the space is small and there's always a dance with people moving to get out of the way of one another. If you want to sit, there are counters and tables to sit at which makes it nice. You can watch the hustle and bustle of travelers and commuters dodge the homeless stragglers that float around wanting to grab your bag of food out of your hand. (Pretty annoying- DC food is not cheap). If you want a healthy and cheerful way to start your day in the DC Union station, this would be the place compared to others that seem less energetic/efficient, although busy. Give it a try!

Pret a Manger at Union Station in DC is a great place to go for delicious and fresh sandwiches and much more. Good overall experience every time I have been here and I have been with all of my purchases.

They were playing bossa and jazz. I opted for the Aren latte and Indonesian beef rissole. Aren latte: 5/5 Latte with an in-house made Aren (palm sugar from West Java) for that hint of molasses and dark brown sugar This was one of my favorite coffees I've had in a while. There was a delicious coffee taste not overshadowed but rather enhanced by the smoky sweet taste of the Aren. I'll be thinking about this latte for a while. Indonesian beef rissole: 3/5 Batter-like skin rolled in breadcrumbs filled with savory ground halal beef & sautéed vegetables While I've never had this dish before, I googled pictures of what it should look like, and mine seemed to have significantly less meat than it should've. The taste was still delicious and seasoned and hearty, but it was mostly mush with some veggies and hardly any beef. While I thought the rissole was disappointing, I love the aren latte so much I'll still keep the 5 star review.

We were lucky enough to snag some goodies and got a bit of everything, we just weren't patient enough to wait to photograph everything. We did the Za'atar Gruyère Croissant, chocolate croissant, the cheese biscuit item they had (don't remember exact name) and the sfogliatelle. I'm in search of the best croissant in DC, so I regret not getting the regular croissant on this visit, but the chocolate croissant gave me an idea of what to expect. Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. When we asked what the most popular items were, we were surprised it wasn't the more classic bakery items, but we enjoyed what we tried. We want to go back soon to try some other items as well. My friend got a coffee and also enjoyed that! This is the perfect place to stop by for a treat if you make it in time!

All the pastry was delightfully flaky and appropriately filled. Pistachio croissant was dancing on the edge of being a bit too sweet but went very well with my latte. Latte and cappuccino were nothing to write home about, potentially underextracted as there wasn't too much flavor coming through. Totally inoffensive and wouldn't hesitate to get another espresso drink if we were grabbing pastries again. Nice quaint limited outdoor seating. Had a nice chat while we demolished our goods right out front. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff that knows how to move the line quickly!

Most recently went as a party of 4 and got the crab beignets, beef arepa, masa gnocci, and parillada for two. Crab beignets were our favorite - perfectly crispy and great flavor. Masa gnocci was a little overcooked this time but still yummy. Beef arepa is a classic dish to get at the royal; two people can easily share one arepa. Parillada was a hearty entree and probably best for 2-3 people. This amount of food altogether was just nice. We probably could have ordered one more thing to be extra full.
