Prezza is a must amy time my husband and I are back in Boston. This time was no exception. We came into town for the Boston Marathon and wanted to celebrate post race with a special dinner. We ordered their mini meatball soup and meatballs as starters and both were excellent. For my main entree was their lamb chop and zucchini risotto on special and my husband ordered the panko crusted pork chop with fingerling potatoes both did not disappoint. What really stood out from our dining experience was the exceptional service by our sever Caleigh. She was very attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. Had a reservation for 8:30 pm but was in the area around 7:00 pm. By chance, asked if they could accommodate us early and to our surprise, they did. The server was friendly and prompt. There were no specials on Saturday night. The Fall cider sangria was to die for. Everyone in the party enjoyed their meals, although a friend questioned if his pasta was truly "handmade". The location in Little Italy is right off Fleet st, which is perfect. The service was just fine, the ambiance is dark but chic and the food was well...good. Italian which is par for the course around here. I am trying my best to segment this place from every other restaurant in Boston's North End but it is difficult. Unless you count the prices...pretty steep here. I love this part of town..I work in this part of town so I have become rather familiar with the restaurants here. My mom was in town from Turkey and I wanted to show her the North End. The food pictures looked really good on Yelp and they took reservations online so we went for it. Highlights: - the crispy shrimp was amazing. Unique dish executed really well. - the tuna crudo was so fresh and clean tasting. Lovely. - i got a custom pasta, tagliatelle bolognese with some red pepper flakes. The pasta was a bit thick, but was tasty. - the server gave us a great recommendation for wine. The Justin cabarnet from napa. Best buy at $48 conpared to other options. Cons: - the person greeting us at the door was chewing gum and had a bit of a snobby attitude. Oh well. Had dinner with family on a bustling Friday night in the North End. Prezza did not disappoint for food or service. First, I was happy that our table was ready upon arrival at the reserved time. The waiter, Sean, was prompt and very knowledgeable. What I loved the most about the service was they never hovered and never took one plate until everyone was finished the course. They also served all the meals at the same time. The food was excellent quality and wine selection was very nice. A great selection of both white and red from Italy and other regions. The food and wine were reasonably priced. I had the steak tartare which was very good in addition to the scallops which were cooked to a perfect translucent texture. My family all chose the gnocchi bolognese which was perfectly cooked as well. gnocchi is always a good rest of an Italian chef and he hit the mark. Before I start with my review there a couple of things I have to get out of the way. 1. My group of friends have been dining here once a year for the last, what seems to be 100 years. 2. I am married to an Irish wife who happens to be the best Italian cook ever, therefore it's tough for me to give any Italian restaurant in the North End a 5 star. Dining Experience: As soon as you enter the restaurant it still has a Great Vibe from the action of the bar to being seated. The service is very North End. We all live in Boston so we all know what I mean. Friendly enough, not rude and a little evasive but Prezza is a 10 compared to other North End restaurants. My mussels were the best I ever have had...Huge portion, great red sauce, and all the other goodness at the bottom of the bowl. 1friend ordered the swordfish which was uneventful 1 friend ordered the Shrimp Diablo which he always loves, but I thought was a bit to salty. My wife ordered the special carbonara with duck meet which wasn't very good and she orders carbonara at every restaurant we go to. Meatball appetizer was delicious with a large amount of sauce but still a bit to salty. Finally, the Vibe is a 10, and the food and service is a 7. If you are a tourist and come to the North End, this a great restaurant. If you are living in Boston like us, always keep on trying more and more North End restaurants to mix it up. read more

I couldn't believe how much I didn't LOVE prezza!!! I lived in the north end for almost 3 years, but never had a chance to try prezza, mostly because of the price. So a couple months ago, my bf, sister and her husband stopped in for dinner. I was so excited to try, and unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. We started with some tuna tartare and the crispy shrimp. The tartare was really good, but the shrimp were definitely overcooked. I thought the presentation was awesome, but at $8/each I wish they were cooked properly. I ordered a pea ravioli that had ham, peas, and pecorino on top. I wasn't starving so I went with the smaller portion. The pasta was good, but unfortunately the peas were rock hard. I can appreciate a fresh vegetable having a nice little crispness, but they literally weren't cooked at all. It completely detracted from my enjoyment of the dish. Others in the group liked their food but no one was raving about a single dish. Service was also not great. Obviously servers at Prezza are used to people ordering a ton of food and drinks, so if you're on any sort of budget you can throw good service out the window. Our server really couldn't have cared less about us. When my bf tried to order a glass of wine with his entree the server was no where to be found. He also had a couple questions about drinks and the server was totally disinterested. I'm really bummed that we had such a lackluster time at Prezza, and with all the other upscale Italian restaurants to choose from, I wouldn't be back. read more

The main bartender at Prezza the night I dined there wore her mask under her chin the entire night. She had her mouth and nose exposed to every single customer she served all night long. Smallest serving of ravioli i ever did see. Service was not great. I made reservations for a group of us to dine and they gave us the crappiest table in the middle of where all the waiters walk. One waiter complained about my purse hanging on the side of the chair and bumped my seat a few times and asked me to scoot in. For the price of the food, the food was not amazing. We went to Prezza to celebrate our grandson's 21st birthday. The food, drinks, and especially the staff went out of their way to make the evening special. It's rare that you have a place that's superior on all fronts, but Prezza is that rare find! I started with the waiter recommended, "Dirty Italian Martini", and it truly was the best martini I have ever had. It was filled with a huge hot pepper stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella. Not only was the pepper huge, but the size of the martini as well. I won't bore you with all the food details, but know that everyone loved their meal. For the grand finale, our waiter brought out a tray filled with different desserts for the birthday boy! We were going to head to Mike's Pastry after dinner, but these desserts were EXQUISITE !! I came here because every moderately priced restaurant had a 2 hour wait. The wine list here is mediocre, but the food was fantastic. We had 3 dishes and shared. I had the most amazing dinner at Prezza last night! The manager James was warm and friendly, He even dropped by our table during dinner to inquiring on our satisfaction with our meal, which was delicious. Our server Eri was the best! He recommended the wine, entree and deserts and we chose them all. My entrée was a generous portions of homemade Meatballs, Sausage and Ribs in a thick Red Sauce that made my taste buds melt. My guest had the Angus Sirloin with Yuken Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus in a Red Wine Sauce, incredible. Desert was the delicious bread pudding, another amazing hit. We were so happy with our experience that we shared our thoughts with a couple have cocktails at the bar. They said they dine at Prezza once or twice a week. The interiors and staff are pleasant. The 2 star review comes from 2 things. I ordered a mojito but got a sangria. When I said that my drink was a white sangria and not a mojito I was told it was infact a sangria. I said there is no mint in it and it's sparkling and tastes like all the other sangrias I've had. The bartender said he couldn't remember what he made so made me another and the waiter eventually apologized because it was infact a sangria, which was obvious sure! I could see that, how could a server not? The real shocker was when we asked for a side of gravy for our mashed potato side and was charged 10 dollars. TEN dollars for a tiny ramkin of gravy which cost more than our side of potatoes. Never in my life have I seen the likes of it. Will never return and have already told our friends about it. So many other good restaurants in North End worth visiting. EDIT: The owner and manager got in touch with me to personally apologize. They took the time out to review the reservations and compare to the receipt to find me which shows a lot of effort. They were very apologetic and had stated that they refunded our bill. They even offered to send a gift card too which we couldn't accept because it was too kind. You can't beat a place with exceptional customer service and that is why I have updated my rating, because of this, we would definitely consider dining here again now. read more

I recently had a group of 15 diners, and I was initially concerned that Prezza might be too intimate and small for a big group. I have dined at Prezza twice previously, though only with a couple of other guests. Even for such a large group, Prezza was the perfect choice, and the group was universally impressed. We met some local Bostonians here for dinner on a Friday night. What a fantastic restaurant!! Service was great, but the food and wine were superb! We started with a number of appetizers including buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes and basil, figs, and meatballs for the table. All delicious! For entrees our friends both had the gnocchi and loved it! My husband had corn ravioli and said it was very good. I had the seafood stew ( I try to have cioppino wherever I can) and I was so surprised to see an entire lobster in there! So sad to write a review of Prezza that is not great! My husband and I enjoyed our many experiences at Prezza in the past but last night was horrible. We were a party of 6, celebrating my son's bday. The cocktails and starters were great but the main course was terrible. None of us liked the meal, from the veal cutlet, chicken parm special, to the butternut squash ravi, and the risotto all terrible. We left there hungry and stopped for pizza on the way home. Total waste of money! I will say this the waiter did notice that our plates were not touched and we were compensated with a couple of meals taken off the bill but we should have received a bill for the starters and drinks only as our plates were still filled with the food that was delivered to our table. I am not sure what's happened to this restaurant group. We dined at the Blue Ox a couple of weeks back and noticed the quality of the food went down hill there too.. To say the least we will not be back to either Prezza or Blue Ox. read more
