My wife and I make a weekly weekend breakfast outing. Price's is one of only two places we go now. The nostalgic feel is nice, and the food is always great. I was recommended the Price's Chef Omelette. It was very good, although I was disappointed that the mushrooms in it were canned. I can handle that, what I didn't like was the waitress trying to convince me that they were fresh. There's a huge difference between canned and fresh mushrooms. The onions, peppers, and tomatoes inside were fresh, though, and it made up for the mushrooms. Somehow the hash browns were both burnt and soggy, but still edible. It's pretty good diner food which I'm finding a lot of in this area. Would definitely recommend a fast, inexpensive meal here. read more

Pretty much the most depressing lunch I've ever eaten. Mediocre dry BLT, warm pickle, and the crumbs from the bottom of an off-brand bag of ruffled potato chips tossed carelessly on a plate. The owner and staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is pretty awesome. Seating areas could be bigger but overall not a big deal. The food is delicious but the 2nd time I went in for breakfast some of my food was cold and there was a hair in my creamer. They also have a fly problem that needs to be addressed. Well Damn!!!!! I walked in and got excited! Looked like an awesome place to have breakfast!!! AND THEN! Sat down, ordered the Price's Breakfast! Service was pretty terrible. Then as I was gazing at my fresh pancake, notice a super long hair nicely mingled in it!!!! Yuk. Sent it back. Asked for extra crunchy hash browns, had to send them back. When I got the plate back, there was another hair! DONE!!!! I couldn't handle it and they still charged me for coffee. Will not be going back. I had a class at Delmar college with a member of the family who runs the restaurant. You get a good dinner feel in the place and the food tasty, served in large portions, at a reasonable price. We were in town for our anniversary and decided to try this restaurant because it was touted as a local favorite and Corpus Christi icon. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a photo wall of loyal patrons, famous and otherwise, along with a photo of the establishment dating back to 1940. We had a short wait for a table to open up, which we didn't mind at all. In fact, the wait made all the hype seem genuine. But alas, this is where the good story ends. We were seated in an enormous and uncomfortable booth, even though there were only 2 of us. We moved all around the booth, but could not find a comfortable spot. When a neighboring booth opened up, we asked to move. This was MUCH more comfortable! The place was busy, but the service was painfully slow for the size. It took FOREVER for our waitress to take our orders, even though she passed us several times. When our food arrived, it was only half of our order. She then had an attitude and was semi-argumentative about what we were still waiting for. We were finished with the food we had been initially given when the last of our order was delivered to the table. This was a very disappointing experience. read more

Decent food, but good luck with their advertised hours. They open and close on a whim. Used to be a regular, and would make an hour drive to eat there. Called up after being turned away at the door and the manager was a complete JACKASS. Said "he can close whenever he wants." No apology or hint of empathy, and then hung up. Alex, our greeter and server, was the most kindest and patient person helping us with our order. The mid-century motif diner takes you back in time with nostalgic relics. Our breakfast, which is served all day, was made fresh and within 8 minutes of ordering it. Fast, friendly, and very easy on the budget. Terrible experience! We didn't mind waiting for a table but it took almost an hour after we we seated to receive our food. While we were waiting we were dodging flies and gnats. The waitress was very nice and kept apologizing. We should have left but we didn't. I wish we had. The food was nothing special and not worth 2.5 hours of our lives. read more

Read all the previous reviews and they were all correct. We had the lunch special chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. The CFS was real CFS. My husband and brother said it was some of the best CFS they have had and the fact it was not pressed meat. My CFC was great also. Had dessert included with the lunch special. Service was outstanding, friendly. The restaurant was clean, atmosphere was neat. You could tell it had been in the same place for a long time. They had a picture of the building in the 1940's. they started in 1941. All booths and counter service. My brother had the Tuscana soup and even bought a pint to go. He said it was wonderful. Food is very good. Unfortunately, it was the worse service I have had. From the time I sat down to the time I finally received my coffee it was about 25 mins. Our food was brought out in segments so we received our toast after everyone was done with the meal. My son never received his biscuit. I asked for the manager multiple times but one never came out. I've been here a lot of times and every time I go here it has not been that good,but this time I went and I had the worst of them all. My friend and I went during our lunch break and our server, Moni, was all around rude from the very beginning even after we were leaving. I had given her some constructive criticism and as we were leaving, she chased us outside, yelled at us asking "what was the problem" but never gave us the chance to explain what was wrong with the service. We are visiting corpus for the weekend and wanted to try the local small businesses here. This place had good reviews and we liked the menu so we ordered to go. My girlfriend got the waffle combo with a scrambled egg and sausage and I got the eggs Benedict. I picked it up and brought it back to our hotel. The bag stayed upright the entire drive back, didn't slide, didn't tip over. I got into our room and the cup of syrup they had set on top of the boxes of food for my girlfriends waffle had spilled all down the entire bag, soaking both boxes. My girlfriend had no syrup for her overly soft and squish waffle, and my eggs Benedict ended up drowning in syrup. The cups they use apparently don't fit the lids for the syrup cups because no matter what you do, the cup won't close! More than this, the muffin on my eggs Benedict was like cardboard and my "poached eggs" were so over cooked they were almost hard boiled. The hollandaise sauce was almost not even there, and didn't have much flavor. And to top it all off, my "hash browns" were more like "soggy uncooked potato strings". Love this place! Just what you'd expect from an old (probably 50 years-ish) diner. My husband and I love coming here for brunch on lazy weekend days. (One of the few places in town that is open on Sunday morning!) You can get breakfast food all day, or they have lunch options and a daily special too. I love people watching here, (always busy!) and the food is such an indulgently unhealthy but delightful treat! I always get french toast and a taquito. :) read more

This is definitely the place to go in Corpus for breakfast (or lunch) with Hester's Cafe coming in a close second. My sister, her husband, and I went at about 11 a.m. and it was packed. We ended up sitting at the counter because there were no open tables, which was actually pretty fun. This place has been here since the 40's, so it has that old-timey diner feel. The homemade biscuits were delicious with the cream gravy, my only complaint being that the gravy didn't have sausage. But a cut-up sausage patty was an acceptable substitute. My sister got the french toast, which was big and thick but light and airy as a donut. Scrumptious. Everything around us looked good, from the migas to the turkey and dressing lunch special. This place is absolutely atrocious! Me and some friends went here to eat bc we had never seen it before. We were skeptical however. Rightfully so. We sat down to eat and we were served our food as my lady was "trying" to enjoy her food she ran into a cockroache cooked into her food!!!! A COCKROACH!!! Really? They then had the audacity to say "oh, we can take the coffee off of your bill." Like that's unacceptable and once the owner heard they just decided to go stand in a corner and act as if nothing happened my friend went to confront the owner about it and when we had stated we thought it was unacceptable for just coffee to be refunded the ticket was then added with coffee back on the ticket. We then still payed for our cooked cockroach. This place has horrid customer service. Unless you enjoy eating cockroaches stay away from this dump. Prices chef must like to cook bugs with thousands of diseases and serve them how repulsive your restaurant is disgusts me. read more
