I will have to disagree with Lauren C's bad review of this place. This is one of the nicest little neighborhood Italian joints that I know of in Houston! Sure it's not a chain like Carino's or Carabba's or Olive Garden, and it's definitely not as packed as other restaurants, but I have never had bad service here, the food has always been yummy, and all my friends like it too! When you have been a local establishment with a loyal clientele for 20 years, you gotta be doing something right. In fact, they are celebrating their 20th anniversary all year long in 2008 by serving their beloved lasagna all day all week for only $5 per order! The lasagna isn't on the skimpy side either! I love the Prima Pasta dish here and the calamari is pretty good too! I've been to Prima Pesto Pasta several times with my wife and I would not hesitate to come back again! The service was fabulous. The food it self, not great. All the sauces were watery any cream based Italian sauce needs time to thicken. Unfortunately, the consistency was that of water. Feels nice to finally be out and being able to dine in restaurants again.. me and boyfriend stopped by to get out pizza and pasta fix..we ordered Shrimp Scampi and a Margherita pizza. Both were very delicious and easy to share between the both of us! As we walked in, we were greeted by staff wearing their facial masks. Very light, yet filling dishes. Our waiter was super nice and funny and very inviting making our first experience here wonderful. My family and I were discussing what we're going to try the next time we come before we even got half way thru our meal. Even the manager guy was super awesome. I would definitely not recommend. Your business is called prime pasta and when ordering the prime pasta meal with shrimp was very dry noodles, no flavoring. And when asked to just take the meal off the order, the waitress had either the owner or manager take over afterwards and didn't say anything to me at all about the plate. We ordered Cheese sticks which by far are the best cheese sticks in Town and Calamari Fritti was just ok. WOW. This place is beyond amazing! Their mozzarella is to die for- plain or fried. I came here on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday. Our party brought 4 wine bottles, and each one costs $10 as a corking fee. The staff is very talkative and a little pushy but we still had a great experience. To top it off, there was a live, funky guitarist playing music and set the mood very chill and relaxing. Only a few places offer this fun music entertainment while you eat! Cute and quaint little restaurant tucked away in a corner. This was our first time here and it was pretty empty when we arrived. We weren't necessarily greeted when we walked in as someone just pointed us to where we could sit, which was awkward. Our waiter was Pedro, who was great for the most part, but we kept having to ask for drink refills. They also do not have a children's menu to order from. We were told that our kiddo could pick something on the menu and order a half order of it since she wouldn't eat a full order. I ordered their eggplant with pasta and my husband ordered the veggie lasagna. Our daughter ordered plain spaghetti with sauce. I specifically asked for extra garlic on my dish, which was not provided. Overall, everything tasted decent. For dessert, we ordered their house made tiramisu which was divine. They also had a gentleman singing and playing a guitar of various songs during the time we were there, which was nice. As we were leaving, the restaurant began filling up. My wife and I visited Prima Pasta with friends for dinner. As someone from Buffalo NY it's difficult to find genuine Italian food in Houston. My wife often orders pasta from here and really enjoys it, so I'll provide that caveat before I proceed with my own opinion. I got a margherita pizza from here recently and it was extremely underwhelming. The mozzarella was crumbly and did not taste fresh, the pizza dough was undercooked, and everything about it was just not good. I finally tried this place with 2 friends, the atmosphere is lovely, it feels very homey and warm. The staff is friendly and welcoming, they let us talk the night away without making us feel like it was time to go even tho it was closing time. We realized it was late and left because we could talk all night the food is phenomenal, each of us ordered different plates and desserts and loved everything. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, usually I go to North Italia but decided to try them out since I was in the area. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo To go on Friday May 10, 2019 and found a long black strand of hair wrapped around the chicken as pictured below. I called the manager and reported this and he offered no apology and offered to "Re-make my food and that he deals with customers calling in and complaining all day about their food" I asked him "why would I eat at your restaurant again when i found hair in my pasta? I want a refund which amounted to $15.00." As of today I have not received a refund and called the restaurant this afternoon and no response. Unsanitary and disgusting. The manager and owner are nonchalant about this that I'm sure they get these type of complaints all of the time and simply don't care. Also I received an update that I could only get a refund if I drove back to the restaurant and showed them my card or would refund me in cash. That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard, the manager and owner have my receipt and card information but claims that their credit card machine cannot process a refund. This place won't last too much longer. If you want to pay money to eat hair and sub standard "italia food" this is the restaurant for you. read more
