This place is pretty nice. Prices are high and portions are small, but I'm sure you're paying more for the fancy atmosphere. (I ordered takeout though) The food isn't quite authentic in my opinion, but it's still pretty good. My brother loved it. I do appreciate the option of Indian cuisine on this side of the mountains though. I recommend trying it for sure especially for a date night maybe. read more

Best Indian Resturant! The service is very friendly and attends to the costumers every need. There isn't enough world to describe that amount of amazing flavors each and every dish is packed with. The amazing taste of their Paneer Tika Masala make you want to keep coming back as much as you can. All the flavors from each unique dish blends so well together. Driving through and looked up this gem on Yelp. I have never really been to an Indian food restaurant before and I was so pleasantly surprised. The ambiance in here is nothing special but the service and the food beyond make up for the lack of ambiance. We did not really know what to order so we asked the waitress for suggestions. We ended up getting everything she suggested and we were not disappointed. We ordered the Chicken Tika, Tandoori Shrimp, some crispy cauliflower thing (amazing) and garlic naan. Excellent Indian food and such great service. Loved that you can choose your preferred spice level, from mild to super hot. The food was so fresh and tasty. The restaurant is clean, modern and comfortable. There are cozy booths and also plenty of room for large groups. I will stop here again the next time I'm in Tehachapi. read more

Just newly opened, outdoor seating only and they nailed it. This is the real deal, true Indian food. We ordered the mixed grill, curry chicken, butter chicken and two different naan's. Everything was amazing but the butter chicken really stood out. It's stuffed with wonderful goodness. I was able to go inside just for a look and they have done a lovely job. We visited on Valentine's Day it was quite busy but about 8 o'clock it emptied out quick. The food here is excellent, some of the best Indian food I've ever had. We started with the veggie samosas. These were great, loved the sauces they came with. The mint sauce reminded me of a spicy pesto sauce. We also had some drinks, the draft beer is so cold it was awesome and my wife loved the Anita Rita. I had the tandoori mixed grill it came with tandoori chicken legs, a tandoori shrimp, piece of tandoori salmon, 1 tandoori rack of lamb chop and a chunk of tandoori lamb kebab on top of sliced onions and peppers and carrots. This dish was amazing you got a little bit of everything. I was a little scared of the lamb because I've never had lamb that I liked, it's always gross to me but the rack of lamb was amazing!! I didn't know lamb could taste this good. Everything else was great on this plate. My wife ordered the butter chicken , this was excellent over the basmati rice. I highly enjoyed it. my only issue was the price, $20 for this dish does not seem justified although I am sure it was made with the finest ingredients but I still don't know if it was worth $20. The pieces of chicken were stuffed vs chunks of chicken which was a nice change from what I'm used to. The spinach, mushroom and cheese stuffing was great. With this dish you can choose spicyness, we chose medium. We both didn't feel any heat so if you like it spicy then choose higher level. The naan was the usual but good, I ate my whole dinner with it. All in all this was a great dinner and good service. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you Prime bar & grill!!!!! This was some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The ambiance was just so-so, but the service was excellent, the drinks were delicious and the food was next level good. We got the papad, the veggie pakora, the garlic basil naan (so light, crispy and chewy!), the chicken tikka masala and the lamb korma. Absolutely the most delicious Indian Cuisine we've ever had! Our waitress was Anmol, a very delightful young lady, whom we asked for favorites/suggestions. She was quick to share her favorites! I chose the Chicken Tikka Masala and it was so very amazing, along with an order of the home baked Garlic Basil Naan. I was in Heaven! My husband ordered the #69 Mixed Curry along with the same Naan and he was over-the-moon happy with his meal. This restaurant was very clean, has great ambiance, and the food is superior! We chose this restaurant because of the reviews and it's proximity to the freeway. I had the Dal Makhani and my husband had the Lamb Biryani and lamb was the most tender I've ever eaten. The dishes were both so very delicious! The dishes had a great kick and the flavors were excellent! And the rice was fluffy and had a wonderful flavor. Hiddem Gem! We were craving for Indian Food while coming back from Vegas to Bay area. As all the reviews were 5 stars we weren't sure how can this be possible in remote place. This was amazing food better than most place in bay area. We ordered panner Tikka masala, Kabuli chicken , dal makhani and goat briyani, they all were delicious. Naan and roti was just perfect. I should have reviewed this restaurant before because I have enjoyed many fabulous meals here but what prompted me to do it now, was a catering order that turned out WONDERFULLY! I ordered Party Size Samosas and they were a such a hit at my boyfriend's 70th birthday party. They were smaller than the Samosas you get at the restaurant and that is what I requested and that is what I got. They were perfectly crisp on the outside and SO yummy on the inside. I like spicy food, but for this party, the spice level was right on because so many had never tried Indian food before. The samosas came with a generous amount of two sauces (Mint and Tamarind I think it was) and so those who wanted a bit more of a spicy bite, could use the sauce of their choice. Bob (the owner) was easy to work with and he understood what I was requesting. He asked all the right questions and made sure everything was exactly like I wanted and what I hoped. If you live in this area and need catering, I suggest Prime Bar and Grill. If you are passing through, the restaurant is well worth the stop! read more

We stopped at the hotel and they said they had a restaurant across from them. Wow were we surprised at the phenomenal food, great service & really clean restaurant. This place goes down as one of our best stops in our travels. It's next to a truck stop! Definitely stop here to eat, it is great and you won't be disappointed. The first Indian restaurant in Tehachapi!! Can't say how glad I am that it's finally here! Looking forward to feeding my fix at least once a week here. Fed my fix yesterday for lunch. Grabbed my go-to Chicken Tikka Masala, rice and garlic naan. Excellent food. I REALLY hope that buffet is not a thing of the past and that a lunch buffet eventually happens here.
