I have been coming here off an on for a few years. The last time I was here was in the beginning of August 2021. They have a new selection off staff working. I was seated and a new staff members started working on my manicure. She said my nails were beautiful. She started my manicure and I noticed she was taking the gel polish off with the cuticle tool which was shaving my nails paper thin. I should have said something but I didn't. She then asked me what polish I would like. Said French manicure please. She painted the first coat on and then looked at my nails. My guess she saw the Bubbles in the paint before she put in the gel coat on. When all finished I looked at my nails and was like wtf. They looked horrible. I walked in and they had 1 or 2 customers- it was hard to tell because all the employees were lounging too. I was not greeted or smiled at or acknowledged in any way. I asked a woman who had sat just as I had walked in and looked liked she worked there because she was staring at me. I wanted a toenail smoothed and all cuticles trimmed. She didn't speak very much English and was very difficult to understand. She showed me their prices but I didn't need the other typical pedicure things. So it was not worth it to pay $30+ for services I did not need or want. I thanked her and left. Ive been coming here for over a year now and I always walk-in and im greeted right away. I usually get the same person, but not always, either way they all do great work so I never request anyone in paticular. I get the gel manicure which starts at $25 and a gel pedicure which I think starts at $30. I usually add-on their calleous remover to my pedicure and for $5 bucks extra it does wonders. They really scrub your feet too which I like as well. They are all so nice asking questions and have an actual conversation with unlike some other nail places ive been too. I have on occasion gotten my brows waxed for $10 bucks and the girl who does them always does an excellent job. If you live close by this would be the nail place id recommend. read more

Went for mani-pedi , had an appointment. They took me in late. Very bad customer service except for an elder Asian woman who went out of her way to try to make me feel comfortable. The others could not care less and lacked basic customer service skills. The 25 dollar basic pedicure lasted 30 min. All basic pedicures involve removing callus and that was not done. I've gotten my nails done all over the place, and prime nails is consistent and they do a good job for me. They put in extra caution if I tell them the nails are for a special event, and they are good at asking me how I want the details. Plus their massage is pretty good. mMmMm... They are good with all kinds of styles, I went through some funky color phases and settled on a french manicure/pedicure with black tips and white flowers. I'm thinking about switching it up a bit once I have some more cash in my pocket. Anyways, their prices are dirt cheap! A regular manicure is $10, a pedicure is $15, designs are $3, and french tips are an extra $5. I also get my eyebrows waxed here, $15 to start, and then $10 for cleanup. Connie is the gal to request if you want your eyebrows waxed, she does a good job. They are pretty sanitary here and if you put in any special requests, the women here are quick to accommodate. I've been going here for years when I can make it to Fremont. They always do a great job on my pedicures that seem to last for weeks. The same ladies worked here for years, which is great because when I come in they remember me and know what I like. I also get my eyebrows waxed here. They do a great job and know what I like so I feel comfortable with them shaping them. You can make an appointment or walk in, but do beware that if you don't make an appointment there might be a wait. They aren't pushy like some of the other salons about designs or other procedures. I can say Prime Nails to be one of my favorite spots to relax well & got my services done with best satisfaction so far. I have been visiting this place for a year now & I feel very comfortable doing Pedicure & Manicure with the staff 'Tina', who always show her greatest sincerity in work. Right from the beginning till date, I've done my services only with her. She doesn't talk much while doing the service and will ask only necessary questions to her clients then and there to ensure whether are they feeling good or not. Her Nail Arts are great too. I pick my own choice of design from their nail art collection & she does a fabulous job every time. During my previous visit, I did French tip with her which was nice & neatly done. I get wonderful compliments from my friends whenever i do nail art with Tina. She is very nice as a person too, for once, when I felt sudden dizziness, she immediately paid good attention to help me resume to normal. I went regularly to this nail salon for over a year. I feel they do an average job for a reasonable price. However, it you make an appointment, they make you wait anyway. This is mainly do to the fact that they take walk-ins over your scheduled appointment. Yesterday, I made an appointment and drove there all the way from Dublin only to get there and they tell me I had to wait 45 minutes? For some people this is not an issue but my time is very valuable and I can't wait 45 minutes when I have a scheduled appointment. They simply do not honor their appointments. While driving down to San Jose from Sacramento last weekend, I decided I needed an emergency pedicure. Randomly drove into a strip mall, saw this place, and decided to take a chance. This place has a small selection of nail polish colors, although they did have some bottles of OPI polish. The lady sat me down in a small and cheap office chair and allowed me to soak my feet in a little massage tub for only a few minutes before she started work on my feet. I appreciated that she did not dig too deep underneath the nails. However, she did not scrub my feet very hard and the foot massage was almost non-existent. She asked if I wanted her to buff my toenails to make them shiny for an additional $3. I wasn't sure why that would be a good idea since I was putting nail polish over my toenails, so I politely refused. She also asked if I wanted her to get rid of the rough skin on my feet for an additional $5. I also refused this because the place I usually go to does it for free. Isn't getting rid of callouses and rough skin on your feet the point of getting a pedicure? Why is there an additional charge? After she was done, she made me walk barefoot over to the nail drier. I wanted to put on my flip flops first, but she said no. It was gross walking across the dirty floor and stick my bare feet in that machine. I don't know what kind of foot disease previous customers have. Looking back, I should have been more stubborn and insisted that she help me put on my shoes first. Although the lady was pretty nice, the overall exeprience wasn't that great. However, it's been a week and my toes still look nice. This is a good place for a cheap ($15) and quick pedicure, but I will only come back if it is an emergency and I happen to be in the neighborhood. read more

Ask for NANCY. I went with my friend to get our nails done. I had called in for reservations but they were pretty busy by the time we arrived. We were situated to have our nails done within 5 minutes or so. We were seated right next to each other which was fun; we were able to talk and I was able to compare the two ladies who were doing our nails. The lady that did my nails, her name is Nancy. She is so sweet and very very kind. I couldn't understand some of the things she was saying but she was so bubbly so I just smiled and went along with what she said. The lady that did my friends nail, literally looked like she hated her life, every minute that she worked on doing my friends' nails. I sat and got my nails done for at least 15 minutes longer than my friend did. She totally rushed through my friends' nails and even asked her to pay for her french tips before she started painting. I mean, she mentioned that it would save her from ruining her nails when trying to take things out of her purse & wallet but still. How are you supposed to tip someone if you have to pay them ahead of time? Whatever. I didn't like her. But 5 stars for nancy. its been over 2 weeks and if you look closely, you can tell its been awhile. I usually come along with my wife when she gets her nails done on a weekend so I am fairly familiar with these nail salons. We tried this place at the recommendation of a friend who is a regular here and told my wife to come here for her French manicure. The place is a bit small for the number of customers waiting. I wished that they have a large screen TV for me to watch the games, but I guess that's not going to happen. The workers were quite friendly and greeted us like we were family. Our technician really paid attention to my wife to make sure that she understood what my wife wanted, and also made some recommendations with her color choices. One of the things that I noticed were how meticulousl the clean up lady was after each customers. It turned out that she is one of the owners and really took pride in how clean the place is. Great local spot. As far as I am concerned, any place that gives a good mani pedi has the following ingredients: 1) clean, sanitary equipment 2) applies polish evenly and cleans up the edges with a nail brush/acetone 3) gives a good massage 4) reasonably priced In these four areas, Prime Nails meets expectations. They don't use those bacteria breeding spa chairs, and the polish looks great. Unlike the previous review, I have never had more than one layer of top coat put on a fresh paint job since the more layers the more uneven the drying process tends to be. As far as a massage goes, they took ample time on both my mani and pedi, which was verrrry relaxing. Finally the price was one of the best in the area- for only $25 dollars. My biggest drawback with this place was the lack of nail polish colors. They did not have any OPI products, and consequently I went three storefronts down to the Martin Beauty Supply and picked up my own OPI/Orly colors. CC's are accepted but tips need to be in cash. read more

The service here is pretty crappy. I went in for gel nails on my hands and regular polish on my feet. I decided to get french tips on both my hands and feet, but the esthetician totally messed up the tips. I didn't want to walk out and pay for crappy nails so I asked her if she could fix it, put more polish on it what not. She said no and that it would turn out worse. She then told me that my nails were too short to do a good french tip, so she had done the best she could. How about telling me that before my manicure? I don't do this for a living and I don't know that. So if you can't do something right please let me know before you spend the time doing it. Anyway, she kept saying she would take it off if that's what I wanted. I said yes please take it off and she got sooo pissed. She was walking around the salon bitching and complaining in their language. What awful customer service. She then took off the french tip gel nails and painted them red. While she was doing this I told her that she could've told me before the fact that it was going to be hard to do french tip, and she 'oh you know it's okay'. What bull crap, I already knew she was mad because I pointed out her crappy paint job. When I was trying to talk to her earlier she asked someone to translate, so I was talking to this other lady to translate. At one point I asked this other lady if she spoke english and she said yes everyone here speaks English. LOL. Some inane form of English. My nails looked pretty satisfactory after the second time. But since I was going to a wedding and I wanted my hands and feet to match, I asked them to redo the toes. The person who did my toes originally and the second time was super sweet. Her name is Trina and she does an awesome pedicure. They still charged me an extra $3 to redo my toes, which I was peeved about because if the first lady hadn't messed up we wouldn't have to go through this process all over again. Came here the day before my wedding to get my nails done. I was going to do a more natural french manicure at my usual nail spot, but my nails turned out to be too short and they didn't do anything but natural manicures so I opted to come here to get the job done (faux stuff). Made an appointment for Friday at 1PM and got there with no wait. Took about 45 minutes to get it done and the work was great; no bubbles or stray matter. Have had them on for two weeks now and they are just starting to peel. The nail technician was patient when I was trying to explain (I'm not a good explainer) what shape I wanted because she had to go back to get it "just right". One star taken away because of lack of professionalism; Lady was yakking away on the phone and texting as she was brushing on the layers. Noticed they don't have any OPI or Essie polishes to choose from for other nail procedures. It was $40, + additional tip for the job. Edited to add: They pried off my acrylics for removal. Mehhh. I came here for a quick french manicure. I enjoyed the price $15), but not the quality. So overall, it wasn't worth it. The lady I had kept messing up on the shape of my nails so she kept clipping away to start over, making it shorter and shorter. TOO short. I asked for straight tips and it ended up being more round. And I also don't like that artificial pink color she used for the nail color. I will give props to her for the massage tho. It started chipping on the 3rd day which totally sucked so I was pretty eager to just remove everything completely already. I could have done a better job myself at home. This place is OK for something quick and dirty to get the job done. I dropped in on a Tuesday night for a wedding that I was in on Friday. If I can do a better job on my nails than a professional place, something's wrong. I got a manicure and pedicure, and on both my fingers and toes I can see shrinkage around the edges from the topcoat not being applied to the edges of the nail polish. Also the topcoat shows brush strokes and isn't shiny. I had to ask at least 5 times for them to fix one nail (when I really should have asked them to redo all of my nails, I almost just asked them to remove the polish so I could do it myself). There's an additional charge to scrub your feet, which I thought was included in most pedicures. I can also still see traces of my old nail polish on the sides of my nails. I'll probably end up buying the same shade of nail polish and re-doing it myself. read more

If you are a regular at Prime, I think you understand why I give this place 5 stars. Lately they remodeled to have nice massage chairs and better stations. The prices here have always been some of the best in the Bay Area and they have never tried to rip me off. I get Shellac now and it always last me 2 weeks no matter what I am doing. The pedicures are always good too, no matter who does it. Prime is also very clean which is a plus! I suggest now to make an appointment because since the remodel there are fewer stations, so longer wait times. Lady that did my nails comes over and asks me politely to soak my old polish while she will provide a selection of colors I am interested in. I thot that was very nice of her. I happened to see this place when I was driving by and decided to stop and see if I could get a quick fixlucky me!! The lady who helped me was Awesome!! Her name is Connie. The first problem I had was we couldn't find the right color to match my other 9 nails. Not a problem This lady picked out 2 different colors to use and guess what,, once on it matched totally!! I am so happy I may just get my nails done here all the time. Of course I'll use the other place in Manteca for back up. Connie is off on Mon&Tues but this place is so good.
