Prime Pizza quietly opened its first two locations in Orange County, one in Mission Viejo and the other in Brea. They've got traditional round pizzas, but the Sicilian-style thicc square pies are where it's at. We got the Spicy pep which is absolutely COVERED in thin, greasy (but delish) little cups of pepperoni. First bite and I was hooked. It was almost the perfect bite until I forgot something...smothered on that housemade jalapeno ranch, and bro, match made in HEAVEN. Excellent bread work on pizza! We got slices to eat. You must heat up the pizza to experience the bread texture. I got the white flat slice which was garlicky. I also got the Sicilian; I'm so impressed by the bread texture! Usually, I dislike square pizzas because I find the dough to be tough and dry. The toasted bread was crunchy and oily in the right way. You won't more creative toppings here like a Sgt Pepporoni's, but the bread texture is far superior. This store is just the kitchen and register. This little pizza joint is turning out pizzas like crazy. The staff is so sweet and accommodating. There's only a handful of tables outside so most people seem to be getting their food to go, but it was a beautiful day so I sat outside and enjoyed it. A great late night find. I really enjoyed the garlic white slice, even though I usually don't even usually like thin New York slice style or white pizza lolzzz. I preferred it over the grandma square slice here which is usually my jam. I think the garlic flavor really came through strong because of how thin the pizza was, and the crust was perfect too! We mobile ordered pizzas for the NFL playoffs.my son went overboard and ordered 3 different pizzas. Really great crust, which is a must for my picky family. The pizzas were delicious . I wish I had known about Prime Pizza sooner!!! My new favorite pizza place in South OC.....and my most favorite spot since moving to SoCal. My waistline be dammed as eating their pizza is totally worth it!! They make good dough, use good quality sauce, and the toppings are excellent. Although parking is tight, being in a popular spot you can just park further park and snag something. This is a grab and go in my opinion, no seating inside and there's one table right in front. I was surprised to see a pizza by the slice store as I was walking around this plaza. I got the cheese pizza and it was delicious! I wanted another one, but wasn't sure what to get, opted for the BBQ chicken and asked if the sauce was overly sweet. I have been reading about Prime Pizza for a while and was excited when they opened this OC location. We stopped at Philz Coffee next door so I had to stop in to try it and see what all the rave was about. It's a light and bright small storefront with its signature red and white color scheme. They have several of their pizzas on display for those that want to buy by the slice. Luckily, they have a vegan option so my daughter was able to get some pizza too. We ordered pepperoni, Sicilian spicy pepperoni and I asked the server, Paul what he recommended, and he said the cheese slice is what made them famous. Paul and the rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful since this was our first time. They brought the hot slices out and also checked on us later. The crust was very crispy, even on the thicker Sicilian slice. They all had so much flavor. In fact, the vegan slice might have been all our favorite. So much so that my daughter ordered another one. Staff: Here is where they REALLY shined. I was so impressed by the customer service here. Everyone was so friendly, genuine, and made me feel very welcome. Customer service of this level is not found often. Quality/Quantity: The pizza here is really good and portions are fair. I opted for the Grandma style which was so good. It is like deep dish, crunchy, and very flavorful. The rest of my party had the cheese and pepperoni slices along with us all sharing the garlic knots. Everything was really good. Only suggestion I would say is to offer the marinara sauce warm with the garlic knots. They were very tasty and this would only add to an already delicious item. Lastly, got to try their chocolate chip cookie which was delicious. It is chewy just the way I like it. Value: Fair in my opinion. They also have a lunch special (see pics). So happy Prime Pizza is in the OC!! Tried their El Segundo spot and loved their spicy pep pie, had to get a whole one again to see if it lived up to its og spot. It's a pretty small location with only a couple tables outside so definitely more of a grab and go sorta place. Cashiers were patient and helpful in suggesting pizza slices to try. The lemon pepper wings were extra salty with some of the meat being a little dry but the lemon flavor was there. Garlic knots were also just ok. A SLICE OF NYC IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD! I'd heard all the hype about Prime Pizza bringing true New York-style slices to LA, so I was excited when this new location opened. I was especially excited since it's surrounded by other food spots (perfect for families who can never agree on dinner). A Taste of New York While some may disagree with pricing, being from Queens, I can't argue that this is not a taste of New York. The taste is right, and I'm so happy to have this in a such a close by location., Everything in California, definitely Orange County, costs some money, so I'm happy to take a bite of what feels like home to me. We love this shopping mall because there is a target and other really good food restaurants so when we saw Prime was opening up during a recent visit we were excited to check it out. We went on a Friday and there was no line. We opted for the slices and got the cheese, spicy pepperoni square, pepperoni and white pizza. The cheese was ok, nothing special. The pepperoni square was good but way too spicy for my liking that I wasn't able to really enjoy it. The white pizza was my favorite - The flavor was so good and the pepperoni was good too. Overall we really enjoyed it and is a new favorite. The ranch was top notch and so was the lemonade. My only thing - the Parmesan cheese for those eating there was dried out. Second, after you pay it ask for an email to track your points (we got 26) and when i put my email it didn't allow me to hit next, so what's the point? Both were delicious, but the Sicilian really stood out. Anything with ricotta is my go‑to, and this one did not disappoint. The wings took a little longer than expected, but the team handled it so graciously--they gave us an extra Sicilian slice to take home, completely on the house, without hesitation. That kind of service goes a long way and it reheated wonderfully in the air fryer. There isn't a ton of outdoor seating, but you can easily sit over by Mendocino Farms if you want to enjoy your food outside. Parking in this center can be a bit of a nightmare depending on the time of day, but honestly, the food and service make it worth the effort. If you are on your lunch break they have 2 great lunch special for you. I ordered one of the lunch special and my husband ordered the other. We always do that so we can share more food choices. My husband ordered the 2 slices one bbq chicken the other one was Sicilian. From what we can see they were not quite ready at the grand opening for the amount of orders but they are working hard to get the order to delivery times down. Give it time and things will be running smoothly. Tried a few things over a couple of visits.. the grandma pizza was as described and pretty good. Thick chewy crust much like a focaccia in the middle and crispy cheese on the edges. Tried the one with pesto and ricotta on another visit.. very good flavors here. The Caesar salad was okay but a bit pricey for the size.. not sure on that one.. at the end of the day a Caesar salad is just iceberg lettuce and dressing.. As far as a slice on the go - I would recommend this spot. We got three slices and garlic knots. Heads up - the slices are reheated fairly quickly. The knots took 18 minutes for prep. We finished our slices before the knots were ready. - veggie/ vegan slice: kale with mushroom and red bell pepper. We liked this more than expected. The kale was lightly crispy like kale chips. - vodka slice: definitely basil forward. If you like basil, go for it. For me, not a strong enough sauce profile. - spicy pepperoni grandma slice: best of the bunch. Hard to strike a good balance between bready and crispy dough, but this slice does it. - garlic knots: a bit disappointing. Upside: good but not overbearing garlic flavor. Not oily. Downside: big time gap between readiness of knots and slices. A bit dense. Served with a cold tomato sauce. The sauce helped mitigate the bready dryness, but also did not have a strong flavor. Paid them a visit on their second day of opening as my LA based daughter raved about them. It's a small shop, nestled within other eateries, with a couple of outside tables. I ordered a regular slice and a grandma square slice. Both were delicious; the sauce/cheese ratio is on point and the crusts are thin and crispy but not cracker like, with no flop on the regular slice. The grandma square slice was particularly good as it was feather light yet pleasantly crunchy/chewy and the sauce is a little different from the regular slice. Pizzas in the display case are labeled making for efficient ordering. No TVs. No beer or wine. We had a chicken parm sub and slice of BBQ pizza, both of which were dry, lacking any sort of sauce, and kind of bland. I was looking forward to trying this place because I thought the branding was cool but I won't be visiting again. One final thing, the young that helped us at the register had an attitude of "I don't want to be here, I don't want to say too much so I'm going to only give a one word answer to your questions and basically hurry up so I don't have to do much work".
