    Pizza by the slice
    Lewis C.

Great pizza. We had ours to go, but there is actually clean comfortable seating in the restaurant, We went for the rectangular pizza and that was a good decision. The crust was a bit thicker than the round pizza and had an excellent texture and chew to it. The sauce and toppings were also good ... overall, the pizza was delicious. I would eat this again and again. Service was friendly and pizza was ready at the time promised.

Prime Pizza deserves 4.5 stars but since Yelp doesn't do half stars, we'll go with a strong four. This is just solid, normal pizza done well. It's nothing too spectacular or crazy, but they've got all the NY-style classics including both square and round pies, gluten-free and vegan options, and all your favorite toppings. What makes Prime Pizza stand out to me is their RANCH (some of my favorite anywhere and yes, they sell it by the bottle) and the crispy, spicy pepperoni. I also love that you can get a lot of things by the slice if you order in-store. This location in particular has a great patio and dining area with plenty of seating and TVs and the service is always quick and friendly. Whether you want to do takeout or eat here with your family or friends, there's something for everyone!

Prime Pizza is so good, and their prices are incredibly reasonable. I stopped in and got two slices one Margherita and one pepperoni. The Margherita was my favorite, maybe because I haven't been eating much meat lately, but either way, it was fantastic. Their slices are a great deal and based on how many orders I saw going out, one was for 20 pizzas it's clear this spot is in high demand. The crust was so good it had that high-quality east coast flavor. I wouldn't be surprised if they used imported water or had ovens designed to replicate an authentic Italian-style ovens. The place is located right across the street from Santa Monica College, so it definitely gets busy. Parking can be a little tricky especially if you're going east on Pico, since left turns can be restricted. I recommend turning before the shop to find street parking, or using the lot in the back or along the side of the building. They also have a great sitting area behind their building as well as inside, but the seating outside has two TVs and it's picnic style benching I didn't eat outside that day because it was pretty cold, but I would definitely sit out there and watch a basketball game because I think they had sports on when I was picking up food. The staff is really kind and friendly and even the bathroom was super clean and well stocked. Honestly, I'd absolutely recommend Prime Pizza to anyone craving a quality slice at a reasonable price.

The best pizza I've had in the area. It was $110 after all fees for two larges and a rectangle deep dish. Not cheap. But the quality was great. Crisp and chewy crust, well-seasoned sauce. We will be getting it again. Not sure why they have less than 4 stars, the pizza was genuinely delicious.

Came here after camping and craving pizza. Some friends that live near by recommended this spot and it was a good one. We ordered a slice of grandma, Sicilian, bbq chicken and pepperoni. We also got a side of meatballs and garlic knots with a chopped salad. Food was good, pizza dough was thin with the perfect amount of crisp. The meatballs were nice and tender and I love garlic knots so those were solid and the chopped salad was there to bring everything together. Service was good staff was friendly and helpful which is what you'd expect. Ambiance was cool nice art and decor up. I liked the maps of LA and dodger items. Would we come back. Yes, it's a solid pizza spot whether you want a slice or whole pie.

Pros -solid New York style pizza -the crust is crispy Cons -pizza didn't taste the freshest -sauce and cheese ratio could be better Rating 6.5/10

4++ of the locations that I've been to, this place feels a little larger. There's seems to be a good amount of seating inside and has a more open footprint than the other locations that I've seen. When I first walked in, I was greeted by some very friendly people and helped right away. I was also lucky because I think I've beat the late lunch or early dinner crowd. There was a good selection of slices available and I end up getting the staple which is the spicy pepperoni, but I also wanted to try the summer tomato pizza. It just looked really good! The thick slices had a nice crunch and weren't overly chewy. You could easily eat them without using utensils and just biting directly into them spicy pepperoni always a favorite here but that summer tomato should not be slept on. Just consistently good pizza no matter what location that you find yourself at.

The following location had accessible parking. It was later in the night so it wasn't difficult to find a spot, but I noticed it was across a community college so it could be tougher during the day. When I entered the store it was kind of empty, there was like two customers and five employees. I liked the place it was very white and filled with cool baseball art. I simply was in the mood for a slice and I have heard of the place before. The guy who helped me out was friendly and brought me the box while I was sitting. The cheese slice came out pretty quick and was 10/10. Nothing crazy, just a plain cheese pizza that was not greasy and had excellent undercarriage. I will for sure come back!

As a lifelong pizza nerd who grew up in Brooklyn and NJ and lived in the heart of NYC until 2006, I've developed a pretty unforgiving radar for anything claiming to be "New York-style" pizza. Since moving to Orange County, I've been chasing a slice that actually tastes like home. A few months back, I posted some pics of pies from Brooklyn City Pizza in Laguna Niguel--hands down the best NY-style pizza I've had since moving here. No surprise: the owners are fellow Brooklyn expats. When I chatted with one of the staff, they mentioned they were scouting for a second location. So when I heard a new pizzeria was going in at the Target plaza on Alicia Parkway, I got excited. I assumed--hoped--it was another Brooklyn City outpost. Nope. Instead, it's Prime Pizza, a spot out of L.A. that claims to serve "New York-style" slices and has apparently earned some positive press. Never heard of them, but I figured I'd give them a fair shake. While up in Santa Monica today for meetings, I spotted a Prime Pizza location nearby and decided to try it out--consider it recon before their Mission Viejo spot opens. First impressions: The pies on the counter looked decent. I was pleasantly surprised to see Italian ices on the menu--a rare find out here, and a total throwback to Bay Ridge summers with my grandparents. Nothing beats a proper Italian ice on a hot day. Then came the slices. I ordered one cheese and one pepperoni. Both were paper thin. Not "classic NY foldable thin"--I mean almost transparent thin. Foldable, yes, but dry and overly crunchy, like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp since yesterday. This was at 11:45 a.m.--prime pizza hour (no pun intended). The sauce was unbalanced and aggressively acidic, with no depth or sweetness to cut it that had me wishing I had some Tums for the ride back. Still hopeful, I tried a few bites of one of their Sicilian slices. It looked promising in the pan behind the glass. What I got was cafeteria-core: dry, stiff, ridiculously thin and flavorless, like a matzoh had a baby with a sheet of cardboard. The kind of square slice that gives "Grandma pizza" a bad name. And here's the thing--Prime isn't a franchise, which means there's no excuse. What I ate is exactly what they intended to serve. So unless the Mission Viejo crew completely reinvents the pizza wheel, I'm not expecting much. In a county already drowning in pizza mediocrity, this one isn't tossing in another lifeline--it's tossing in a cracker of dough.

I like that the pizza is balanced with not so much bread and perfect amount of toppings. I looooove their pizza I want it everyday if I could. It is so delicious! - Paz (8) My first time at this pizzeria and the food was amazing, I got to try a slice and I swear you can't get this kind of pizza just anywhere. It took me back to a slice I had in NY, what kind of pizza unlocks memories like that?! The team here is amazing too, the pizza and service is unmatched. DeMarcus you are a gem!!!!

One of my favorite spots in LA. Crispy, thin, good sauce, small cup pepperonis... 9/10 for sure!!! DO NOT SLEEP ON THE RANCH EITHER (as good as wing stop). Matt was very friendly and warm when I picked up my last Togo order...

    Meat lovers Square pizza!
    Art G.

Fantastic pizza! I ordered the meat lovers square pie. It was pretty big 12" x 16" or so. About a third bigger than most places. And twice as big as Emmy Squared Pizza. All the toppings tasted fantastic and the sauce was on point. The service is great unlike Joe's pizza which hires the unhappiest personnel. The ambiance is clean and for the first time I noticed they have a back patio. It was too cold to sit outside so I'll have to check it out next time. I definitely recommend Prime Pizza!

They have metal tables and chairs with loud speakers blasting music that echoes throughout the space. We covered a good amount of their key items. The main takeaway is that while everything is cooked well, but the dishes really lack flavor. I dine out to get flavors that are not easily made at home, and unfortunately, I did not find them here. The food lacks depth, and frankly, it needs salt to make it stand out. The pizza dough is actually really well prepped, easily as good as Pizzeria Sei, which is the best pizza place in LA, period. But again, it just lacks flavor. Also, as a small side note, there is a 4% employee health insurance surcharge added to the final bill. I probably just missed it listed on the menu somewhere, but oh well. Overall, it is a decent place, but I would not go out of my way to come back here.

I'm still salivating over the Caesar salad with white anchovies; don't be discouraged just because anchovies have a bad rap for being fishy. The white ones are vinegar-y and fresh and they use bread crumbs instead of croutons. I love the addition of the slightly bitter but crunchy radicchio. And for dessert, we chose the Basque-like cheesecake with sour cherry compote. This place is open late, and nothing else was available at 10:00pm in Santa Monica because it's, well, Santa Monica. This place was so cute and had a liquor store right next door (I'm sober, but I made note for my normie homies). All I wanted was a pepperoni pizza, and I ordered one for literally $16 dollars - which is an insanely good price in 2026 in Santa Monica. This pie was made to order, and it was so yummy, cheesy, and delicious - I loved it, the crust was crunchy and soft, a little too thick for my taste, but honestly till good. I nearly ate the entire thing in one sitting, so the crust couldn't have been THAT thick. The owners were so kind, sweet and helpful. They clearly CARE about their customers and their food, they put a lot of work into their service and their food and it shows. I am very pleased to have found this spot, and I will continue to come and get affordable pies, and next time I'll 100% be getting the motz sticks. They said that on their site there are deals, sometimes you can get the motz sticks for free with an order of a pizza. WHAT?! Can't wait to go back and try other things here. Like it or not, I know I'll be treated well and taken care of by the family-like staff here. THANK YOU SAMO PIZZA FOR KEEPING RESTAURANTS FAMILIAL AND APPROACHABLE IN 2026.

Very friendly staff, but very mediocre pizza and terrible ambience :(…read more Sauce was bland, sausage was neither sweet or spicy, cheese was just OK. Staff lets the alarms on the timers ring for 3-5 minutes, repeatedly?? I guess the noise pollution doesn't bother them, but it was driving me crazy. Finally had to put in earphones just to block it out, even though I was sitting outside.

We stopped into this fun, dimly lit restaurant that feels tucked away in a neighborhood and…read moreimmediately loved the atmosphere. It has a cool, hip vibe inside that makes it perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, side salad, duck pappardelle, and the suppli al telefono. Everything was delicious, and every dish that came out of the kitchen looked just as good as what we ordered. One thing to note is that it's an alcohol-free establishment, but that was no issue for us because the mocktails were fantastic. Thoughtful, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the meal. The menu feels creative without being intimidating, and the whole experience left us wanting to come back and work our way through the rest of it. Definitely a spot worth checking out.

We had a gem Caesar salad (just ok, boring), the carbonara (just ok, pancetta? was chewy) and the bolognese (just ok, under seasoned). It was just ok! Service was weird but we also came right when shifts were changing cuz we saw our waitress walking down the street at one point. There she goes! Sat outside, such a cute area but as soon as you get your food here come the flies! Also, people talking loudly even tho it was not busy - inside would have been better, less busy, super open and so much seating. Saw 2 girls there who got ALL the breakfast foods and this is where I realized we went wrong. If you come here for lunch, I'd recommend the breakfast food - it looked FANTASTIC! Or maybe a pizza. The dinner food looks better from the pics!

The lettuce is so big u need to sit and chop it. I get that's the vibe but they also forgot to include UTENCILS ( I don't get how it's normal to forget utensils on a to go order) so I was legit eating giant lettuce in dipping sauce. 2. That little dressing thing is no way enough for the salad 3. My husband ended up buying more Parmesan cheese from super market , and I added it on because they honestly barely had any and it was just tiny flakes. 4. The croutons came very soggy... I feel like at the store. They're probably crunchy, but something about the process made it extremely soggy and soft I love Candace and I love their pizza but this salad to go needs to be improved !!!
