Everything we never knew we wanted. I honestly believe that Steve and Kevin envisioned our Treetop Oasis the first day we met. I'll do my best to convey what an incredible experience this has been but I feel I may fall short. It's been beyond extraordinary; 1) the team, 2) the design, 3) the execution, 4) the management, 5) the customer service, 6) the follow up. It started with a couple questions which (believe it or not), not one other builder we met with asked, "What did you have in mind? Who are you looking to entertain?" Simple questions but never having had a pool, we didn't know what we wanted. What we did know was that our backyard would be challenging since our house sits on top of a major slope. In fact, many of the builders we met with (high end luxury builders at that) didn't even want to tackle the slope issue. Instead, they recommended we tear down a number of trees to get to where the ground levels before building. Pristine not only tackled the slope issue, they embraced it and built a resort that makes you feel at one with nature. As I sit in the hot tub and look out over the space they've created, I feel as I'm sitting in a tree house. It's truly breathtaking. Installed several expensive trees for a privacy screen. All the trees died within months. Steve Waldron refused to replace them or install something else without treating it like a brand new job (new $). His excuse: "I didn't realize these trees would not thrive in this location." Steve Waldren and his incredible crew transformed our backyard into our private oasis. We could not be more thrilled with the end result they were able to achieve. It exceeded our expectations in both quality and aesthetics. Steve is the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Not only is he is creative, reliable, attentive, and a perfectionist; he's also genuinely a great guy and very easy to collaborate and work with. His vision for our yard was gorgeous and it was executed perfectly. Pristine Acres did a complete overhaul on our backyard. They put in a pool (complete with an exquisite waterfall, grotto, slide, and spa), pool deck, landscaping, outdoor kitchen, outdoor fireplace, a pool storage unit under the deck, and a beautiful extension/eating area underneath the deck. Additionally they replaced our old deck with a waterproof, far more beautiful, and functional deck that perfectly complements our home and pool area. We are 100% thrilled with how everything turned out. Steve oversaw every aspect of the project. He was always available for questions and suggestions and made us feel like we were his number one priority. He was constantly on site, supervising and guiding the crew and making sure everything was executed correctly. Steve employs a fantastic group of individuals who bring his vision to life. His mason is a world class artist. The patio and pool deck he created for us are breathtaking. He spent countless hours selecting, cutting, and setting each flagstone so they all fit together perfectly to create a harmonious whole. He worked through freezing cold days and 100+ degree days for months and delivered a product that we will enjoy for years to come. All the members of Steve's crew are just as dedicated and talented as his mason and they have a very strong work ethic and take pride in their work. Steve drove all the way to Pennsylvania (from Virginia) to hand select the stones for our pool's grotto to ensure they were perfect. Similarly he personally hand selected every single plant and tree for the landscaping. His attention to detail is superb. He made sure every single detail, down to the landscaping lighting was absolutely 100% perfect. We were so pleased with the quality of the work that we decided to continue with the renovations and create an outdoor dining area and pool storage unit under the deck. We also had the entire deck replaced and waterproofed so we can enjoy outdoor seating rain or shine. Most important is Steve's personal honesty and integrity. We were able to trust him and his crew completely both inside and outside our home. He made certain choices that cost him money because he wanted it to be "just right". We are so fortunate to have found Pristine Acres for our backyard remodel. We researched several companies, narrowed the list down to 5 that we actually met with, and could not be more pleased that we selected Pristine Acres to do the job. From start to finish, they were prompt, responsive, courteous, and professional. Their passion for what they do and their extensive knowledge of design elements, the appropriate plantings and materials for the climate and soil/land conditions, and technical expertise for installation and project implementation was evident every step of the way. Steve Waldron, the owner, came to meet with us to discuss the project, worked directly with us throughout to complete the design, and was at our house every day the project was underway. Steve took the time to get to know us, our needs, and what we envisioned for our yard, while providing expert guidance on what could be done given our backyard size, layout, and budget. (Our yard is shallow but wide, was basically an overgrown mess of woods and brush, and also had two significant slopes and drainage issues) The initial design they proposed further emphasized that Steve had listened to us and wanted to give us the yard of our dreams, rather than throw some ideas on paper based on what he wanted to do (which was the case in a couple of other companies we spoke to.) Pristine Acres cleared and leveled the existing yard (no easy task), put in new retaining walls, a flagstone patio, stacked stone walls and gas firepit, a multi-tier waterfall, lighting, and new plantings. The backyard came out better than we could have ever imagined - it is truly a work of art. Jeff Taphouse, the co-owner and business manager, handles the daily correspondence and was extremely prompt in answering any emails/questions we had, and was great at keeping us in the loop on next steps, daily progress, etc., and is a pleasure to deal with. Jeff also made a point to stop by almost every day to check the progress. Once work commenced, the crew was polite, courteous, worked extremely hard each day and took a lot of care in making sure the job was done well. Our project manager (also a Jeff) was great- he assisted us with any questions we had, took great care in the work he did, and ensured that everything flowed smoothly, the work was being done right, and even became our dog's best friend. Our project required them to access our yard via a neighbor's driveway and easement between the properties- they took every precaution to ensure that our neighbor's yard and driveway were not damaged. At the end of each day, the crew cleaned up the area as not to leave a mess for us or the neighbors. I could go on and on (this is already a novel), but let me leave it at their work is impeccable, their customer service fantastic, they are very well priced, and the best company we have ever worked with. We have a few other landscaping projects ahead of us, and we wouldn't consider anyone but Pristine Acres to do the work. read more

From my personal experience, most of them are more interested in a quick buck than in truly taking care of a customer and building a relationship. We hired Steve and Jeff to transform our small backyard and side yard into usable spaces. We were looking to extend our living space outdoors in the backyard area and to fix a water issue in the side yard. Steve came out to meet with us several times and spent a lot of time going over all of our ideas and giving us his suggestions. Steve and his crew have just completed transforming our property into a magical space that we will enjoy for years to come. Our back yard was heavily wooded, always wet and it felt small. We did not think a pool was possible because of the septic system location. We met with Steve and had an instant connection. He looked at our property and envisioned a pool in the center of the yard with a large pavilion for dining and landscaping throughout. Wow! That is all that needs to be said about the service and workmanship of Pristine Acres. We hired them to be a small part of a major renovation of our back yard based on the recommendation of our pool company. What we got was a lot more than that. We got a general contractor who handled all aspects of the project, dealt with subcontractors, inspectors, utilities and our homeowners association. Steve from Pristine Acres handled all of the scheduling and provided a complete finished project on schedule. He and his employees went above and beyond what we were expecting and have created a paradise in our back yard.
