We finally decided to try Park 101 on a Sunday a few months ago after hearing about the relaxed fun atmosphere. Just a heads up, the upstairs area is 21+ only. The downstairs restaurant area wasn't too packed, but there weren't too many seating options in the shade. It's almost completely all outside, which was nice when the weather was warm. We made it work. You order food and drinks at the bar and they bring it to the table. I was sad to see they were out of one of their signature cocktails. The food was delicious and flavorful. The drinks are decent and the location is prime. It's a fun place to try and if you have never been to Carlsbad, it's a great place to go for just drinks with friends. read more

Here on a Thursday evening and it was jumping. Seat yourself style and order drinks and food at the bar. They bring the food out when it's ready. No wait staff but they do come around and clear your table. Drinks were good and the food was delicious. Great place to hang with friends and chat and socialize. Not your typical dinner place! VERY DISAPPOINTED! waited over an hour for a table for them to put me in the worst spot possible. We were tucked away in some corner on the inside with it loud as can be with my newborn and a puppy. Asked the host to switch spots and I was told I would have to wait another 1hr+. People that came later than us got better seating which is absolutely ridiculous. Food is average at best and drinks are VERY over priced. Went here for the football game bc they have the only outdoor seating with a huge tv but was a huge mistake. With only being able to go out once a week for dinner we were more than disappointed and ruined the whole day. Definitely won't be coming back. Friday at 2pm and not too busy. Parking was easy to get and if there isn't near, can easily walk to it from beach and Carlsbad village with a nice scenery. Had "The Chick" and the Pulled Pork Sando. Good selection of beers. Flavor was great. Hot lemon pepper sauce had a small kick but mainly flavor. Not recommended for those who are not in favor of spice. Pulled pork was packed with flavor and a generous portion of meat. Fries come crisp as I like and the season was great. A great place and the roof top has a great view and would like to see how this gets during the night. Definitely coming back. Happy hour at 3pm and the drinks are well poured. The service was great as well and food came out quick and staff is welcoming. Went upstairs but there was no one to take our order. So we went downstairs & had someone seat us with a number and still no service. Had to go to the bar to order. Once we got our food, I was told the lemon pepper sauce has a buffalo base so it was spicy. If I am expecting a non spicy lemon pepper sauce, I do not expect buffalo to be in it. Manager was nice but the service & sauce expectation was really disappointing. Also I was going to order the nachos but had no idea what cowboy caviar was so I passed on it. I see why Park 101 is a popular party place in Carlsbad Village. It's at a very convenient location. It has multiple comfortable lounge areas and game areas in the complex. And on the second floor, you can find some fantastic views. So is it worth the wait (in line, especially on weekends)? If you're looking for a fun bar to party at, this is the place. I ordered one of their frozen margaritas, and I enjoyed it in the outside lounge area. And all around me, I could see many more customers enjoying themselves throughout the complex. If you're looking more for a nice restaurant, or even for a mellower bar experience, you might want to look elsewhere. I was vibin' when the DJ was spinning tracks. But if you're particularly noise sensitive, just keep in mind that this bar tends to be a little more on the loud/rowdy side. read more

We live in San Diego, but have friends who live in North County, so we decided to meet up for the Padres game here at Park 101. Thought it was a good spot with lots of TVs, drinks and food. Things were great, they turned the main big screen to the Padres vs Braves at game time. However, right in the middle of the bottom of the second inning, the TVs changed to basketball commentary. No notice to anyone, no nothing. Just changed in the middle of play. The hostess was apparently approached by "people" and asked to change the feed, which she just decided to do. This bar was specifically listed as a place to watch Padre games. We were met with "it's game 7 of playoffs". Last I checked, San Diego doesn't have any basketball teams. But we do have a baseball team that we support and we thought Park 101 did too, but obviously they don't. The food was good, drinks were fine, but as locals, we won't ever be back and unfortunately won't recommend our local friends to come either. read more

Really wanted to give this place a better rating but I can't. The place is nice, fancy and excellent for kids and pets. With so many things to do to keep busy such as cornhole toss, Jenga and Connect 4. An excellent place to have a drink or two or three or four at the bar or by the fire pit. It is not a place to eat if you are hungry and I'll explain... My wife and I ordered the two meat plate and sandwhich. Both tasted good and were huge. They honestly could have been shared. The problem is that it took an hour and a half to get our food!!! Had the staff been honest with us to begin with I wouldn't have been upset. Even better, we were here to celebrate my cousin's birthday. The birthday celebrant was upset due to the slowness of getting the food. So we just kept buying drinks. At one point, they ran out of syrup on their Dr. Pepper. We brought a significant amount of business which they were not prepared for and it showed. Staff was running around trying to determine where food was to be delivered. The kitchen ended up closing temporarily so guest were forced to grab food from other establishments. The taco shop bext door, the Board and Brew and SupZero Ice Cream. Kuddos to the bartenders and food runners, they were working hard and kept checkin in on us. The kitchens staff needs help ASAP! Park 101 has a great location and ambiance, they need to make adjustments to make sure the food matches to par otherwise they'll continue to miss out on additional revenue. It been awhile since I've been here, but still love the atmosphere. Great chill spot to unwind hangout with friends and have some drinks. I really liked their fries and was planning to order them til I saw that they had jacked up the price from $4 to $8! And couldn't get myself to ever spend $8 on just fries. I heard about the 3 lobster tacos for $10 on Tuesdays so I decided to give it a shot! I was going to be good and have the tacos and a water and roll out. As I was walking to the restroom after placing my order, I caught eyes with the bartender at the garden pub. Found out her name was Mina. I fell in love and drank two ponytail amber ales. She was very sweet and beautiful . Although the tacos were the best thing I have ever tasted, Mina's authentic personality made the entire experience thoroughly enjoyable. On the bottom level there is astroturf where a furry friend can be, picnic styled tables and one fire pit with sofa benches around and on top there's a bar with beers and margaritas. My favorite is their strawberry coconut margarita, it's a little expensive but for $16 you get a 16-24 oz margarita that tastes absolutely amazing, the strawberry is kind of acidic and the coconut is super rich and creamy. They have high bar stool tables and big sofa-like booth tables that are incredibly comfortable to sit at. I love this place, it is definitely more for a splurge night than a every weekend kind of thing but I love it! And great views of downtown and the sunset. read more

Last night I witnessed an adorable little dog get attacked and severely bitten by another dog inside Park 101. Blood was drawn and the attacking dog owner seemed almost gleeful by the attack. I just saw on Next Door that others saw this too and that the dog went after another dog in the parking lot. Unacceptable. Park 101 staffers did absolutely nothing to help the poor dog or its owner who were clearly traumatized. Being a dog lover I will never patronize Park 101 again and I encourage anyone in Carlsbad / San Diego who has or loves dogs to never again go to Park 101. Walked up and had to be seated, (hostess was super nice) but never seen this before. It had always been first come first serve. She sat us inside and said someone would be with us shortly. After noticing only one waitress working and sitting over a half an hour watching others be greeted and served we ended up leaving. Overall very disappointed with the service and changes of this place. I can't feel good about leaving 1 star as most businesses thrive on reviews. I was here for a very small party on Friday evening and this place was busy! The restaurant is abiding by COVID protocols-there was plenty of space between the tables and mostly everything was outdoor seating. We came in over 4th of July weekend during the pandemic, and I just wanted to review specifically their social distancing and related efforts. They put up partitions everywhere that are so stylish they look like permanent fixtures. Masks are required, and they added/spread tables out so everyone has plenty of room. Everything was very clean and they're doing modified open seating to ensure tables are cleaned before someone just goes and sits. The ordering process is slightly different, and frankly, a little confusing. There's the separate window for Maine lobster like usual, but now you go "inside" to order food and cocktails, and the outside bar is strictly for beer and wine. On Friday 7/3 the food/drinks line was LONG/slow (about 35 minutes). That may have been due to just the holiday weekend, but it's not worth it for just a drink, so order food and drinks together. Hopefully that part of the process can be improved, otherwise excellent job guys! read more
