Jeff was communicative, prompt, and thorough. He not only asked great probing questions, but he listened to my answers. He addressed my initial concerns, as well as tackled a few I forgot to mention, well before they usually become an issue (spider nest, ants, rodents, etc.). It took some convincing my in-laws to accept hiring a pro to finally our yard of the flea infestation (3.5yrs+). Jeff, unfortunately got a small dose of their "not-quite-sold" attitude, but remained professional, polite, and confident without breaking a sweat. My husband has since noticed (with the rest of our family) a huge decline in the number of bugs, and especially the flea invasion that consumed our backyard. We're very thankful for the great service Jeff provided, and do look forward to even more progress to come. Jeff goes above & beyond the customary service expected when hiring a pro. 5-star, Top Tier, hands down. Unfortunately, my rating is based on the whole package (company, Service Tech, quality of products, results, etc.). I was provided a service contract stating my service visits would be every other month, except following my first visit/treatment. The 2nd treatment/spraying would get the critters scrambling to the surface, but in order to break the fleas life cycle, my 2nd treatment would take place 2 wks after the initial. I've just received the approx. date of that 2nd appt... which is 40days later. Yet, my monthly payments have not been lowered for things not being scheduled as it states in my contract (maximizing the end result being a success.). I have yet to address this with Jeff or management, but plan to on my next week visit. read more

I've been using pro active for almost 2 years now since I first bought my house. I usually get the same technicians out here and have met at least 4 already. They are all so awesome. All very nice, knowledgeable and do what I request. Jay was the last person who came through to do my last two treatments. He is awesome to leave me behind some sticky tabs and extra treating areas where requested. I love when they ring my doorbell and I can just talk to them through my ring regardless if I'm at home busy or couldn't be home the day of. And they check out through the doorbell after as well or text messages me. They always let me know when they are in their way with an eta and asks what areas need attention or what issues I've been having. They usually come every other month, but when needed for an in-between service it is included with no extra cost. Just have to give them a call and they will be out I have done that a few times and it really helps. I high recommend this company to all my fellow helpers as I have to my friends and family already. read more

I had a small infestation of termites in one of my rooms. One of Pro Active's inspectors, Cheng, was on-time for our appointment, was very friendly, and was really knowledgeable about my termite problem. He did a close inspection of the spot inside my house where the termites were revealing themselves, and determined that they were subterranean termites. Cheng also did a close inspection around the outside perimeter of my house. He explained my termite issue and possible solutions. He carefully described how Pro Active would treat my house, and answered all my questions about the treatment. He's a great inspector and even better customer service rep. We had issues with wasps and spiders and Jay (our customer service/office rep) had a stellar attitude and answered all our questions. They made us feel like family and assured us that they'll do all they can to keep our home as pest free as possible. They gave us not only home tips but travel tips to reduce the chance of bed bugs (don't put your dirty clothes on the hotel floor!) Brendan, our technician, is incredible! He sprayed our whole perimeter and walked us through the egg cycle of common pests. He knew where to look for wasps and spiders and told us why some pests liked certain areas. The disappointing customer service turned what would have been a decent pest control experience for our Elk Grove home into a negative one unfortunately. My family and I are mostly disappointed with how hard it was to cancel our recurring billing. It's never a good sign when a business purposefully makes it much harder to cancel billing payment than it is to subscribe. To cancel, you have to make a phone call where a receptionist takes your info only to tell you she can't cancel your service, then attempts to transfer you to someone who can. If that 1 person is out of the office then you're out of luck and won't be able to cancel your service. They'll say they will call you back, but of course they don't. Most likely because they're not in a rush to cancel your recurring billing. Makes sense. Less revenue for their business if they made it easy. Sucks for the customer. They must be betting that customers like us would forget to follow up on the cancellation otherwise it would be possible to cancel on their website like any other business would. There is a login option on the website but of course it gives you an error when you try to log in. So I went out of my way to call myself hours later after receiving no phone call like I was promised. The receptionist transferred me to a nice-sounding lady. Too nice to be trusted to be honest, but I play nice too so this could just be over with. I mentioned I am looking to cancel service, but she insisted on asking me for a reason for why I'd like to cancel. I insisted myself that I'd like to just cancel, but she continued to pry, which told me everything I needed to know. She was not going to allow me to cancel unless I stuck to my guns. I asked one more time politely to cancel service until she finally said yes facetiously and immediately hung up. It's a shame because we were actually interested in returning at some point because the quarterly pest control was a nice luxury to have, even though it was expensive. But my family won't be giving our money to where we are treated as numbers on a spreadsheet. We've decided to do pest control ourselves freely and at a fraction of the cost. I hope this will help other potential customers think hard to consider these things before agreeing to pay businesses like Pro Active Pest Control on a recurring basis. read more

We've been using this company for years now, both in our old home in another city, and our new home. Some years back, we had a different pest company, but weren't happy with them so switched to this company, and are completely satisfied. They always do an amazing job keeping my home free from pests. When we moved here, we had ants invading our home and yard, they took care of those pests and I've never seen another ant inside. Whenever we have a problem outside, they'll come out and take care of the critters, whether it's on a regularly scheduled visit, or in between those visits. We are canceling service with this company. We are disappointed with this companies billing practices and the fact that we still have Black widow spiders and webs everywhere. This company bills you the same day they come and do not give you a "billing period" in which to make your payment. so if your payday is in a week, they don't care, they bill you and then if they can't get their payment, they charge you an extra 5 bucks. I'm not a bank, and we have other bills to pay. They only give you one day notice of when they are coming. Every time we have had a chance to speak to the technicians, we ask them to spray beyond the perimeter of the house and they do "one time" only. We have a different technician every time they come and they don't keep notes of their customers request. The last time they came, I don't even think the guy sprayed because normally I can smell the chemicals, not last time. read more

He was efficient and all work was done outside. I decided to continue with the bimonthly service because now is not the time to have ants and spiders in our home with a new baby.
