Wow! I made reservations to move a week ago with a crew of three. They arrived on time first star. We went over what needed to be moved and they wrapped everything second star. They moved everything carefully and far quicker than I thought it was possible, third star. We actually had to make two more pick ups along the way and they were great about that. We got to the final location again. They moved so quickly and asked me each time. It was unclear where everything goes, fourth star. They did it in under the minimum that time, they cleaned up. They asked me if there was anything else, fifth star. They were done and out of here and now I have the day to unpack and organize I would keep adding stars Gabriel and his crew are amazing. We used Prodigy for our move from SF to LA. The process of booking the move was really easy. We compared a few quotes but ended up feeling the most comfortable with what Prodigy was able to offer. On moving day, Gabriel and his team were quick and efficient in packing up our two bedroom apartment. We had them pack our more fragile items for us, which made the stressful part of packing/moving really easy on us. I don't generally write bad reviews (check my profile), but our experience was so bad that I feel like all these glowing reviews must be fake. Here are a list of issues encountered: * We paid for 3 men, but we only got 1 person capable of lifting more than 50 pounds. Seriously they sent 1 adult and 2, like, kids. It was super weird and not at all professional, even though the kids were nice and well-meaning. * Worse than amateur packing. Sharp, unwrapped items like iron lamps (see above) next to boxes marked fragile. Fragile boxes loaded on the bottom. * Since 2/3 weren't pro movers, they dropped boxes left and right since they were using dollies on stairs. This also screwed up the stairs in addition to my stuff! * They didn't have basic supplies like tape on them. I was literally taking Lyfts to Safeway during the move to provide them with tape. WTF? * They refused to wrap my delicate furniture. I bought the movers plastic but they refused to use it. This was a truly awful experience. The cubes they loaded arrive later this week and I'm terrified to find out how much was broken and will update. I had only had good moving experiences in my life and trusted these reviews too much. Going to file BBB complaint etc and I'd recommend staying far away. read more

I was planning to move before COVID-19 shut down our world-- and decided to keep on keeping on. Thankfully, I had Prodigy supporting me. They blew the others' quotes out of the water. They responded within an hour to my inquiry, and my relatively small move (about a one bedroom's worth) was taken care of in just under three hours. And we're talking a ridiculous amount of tiny bags (I didn't have boxes! They used their own), disassembling & reassembling my bed frame, and a gigantic wingback armchair that I struggled to carry with two other friends. I watched from my porch as one Prodigy mover lifted it with ease, carried it down the stairs, and tossed it onto the truck (gently, of course). I was dumbstruck. No damage to any items whatsoever. All in all, true to quote, great value, and are good natured movers that take their job very seriously. I was pleased to see they arrived in surgical masks, and were prepared for the essential work they are extremely qualified to do! Setting up my new space was a breeze. I was refers to Prodigy and very happy I was. they did an in house estimate which was better than others I had gotten. Once I confirmed my date they were diligent to confirm as the date approached. Original estimate was 5 men 2 trucks and 9 hours. 2,600 sq foot house, two stories. On the day of the move they were right on time and got to work. They were very careful with all my items, asked where items were going to go in new house so they could correctly label items as necessary. Even after a slight break after arriving at the new house, the team finished 2.5 hours early saving me money Yet getting everything done and placed where it should. They even helped with putting a large tv on an outside mount that I would never have done by myself. I highly recommend Prodigy and will use them again when necessary. read more

I was moving back from San Francisco to LA and found Prodigy Moving on yelp. Their prices are very competitive and beats the majority of the quotes I got. Prodigy has a location in SoCal so it makes it easier and more convenient for the transfer. I spoke with Abby during the whole transaction and was very pleased with all the conversations and customer service. I needed to move out of my Apt about a week earlier than me moving back to LA so Prodigy was able to transfer my stuff and hold it in their storage for a week and brought to my house in LA. They even reconstructed my bed when they dropped it off at LA. They asked where we wanted all the boxes and didnt just unload everything into the garage. I had a small studio in SF so it was super easy to move out. They had 2 people come and were able to get all of my stuff out within 1 hour, just in time for my taskrabbit person to come clean out my apt. I loved my experience with Prodigy and would recommend anyone in SF or LA to use their services. Ask for Abby and she'll make your relocation experience seamless. read more

The movers were OK. Three of them didn't speak any English, so it was tough communicating, but my problem doesn't stem from communication. I was told that all of the corners would be protected. All railing could be covered. They would put something down to walk on so they wouldn't get dirt track down on the floor, I was told they would wrap up my televisions which are quite large so that they can be transported. They did not even touch my television, except to help me take it off its melt. Pretty much everything that I was sold turned out to be a fantasy. They weren't even really there on time. I would never select them again and the only thing I can say is they were very efficient but that's about it, they argued about different things. I was told they were hook up my washer and dryer. They didn't like I said pretty much everything that I was sold when I signed up for them having chosen them over several other companies turned out to be pure fantasy, and I could've done as good a job with U-Haul. read more

I initially had plans to rent a Budget Truck and move my furniture from a 2 Bedroom Townhouse w/ family and friends. We intended to do the move on Saturday, but plans fell through the day before, a Friday. She wanted to speak over the phone, but being busy with work meetings I asked if we could just speak over email and she did. Back and forth that afternoon finalizing the fine details with only one call in the late afternoon to make sure everything is in order. Then moving day came and Gabriel was there with his crew on time and ready to work. WOW, these guys are on it! I requested a quote to move from my apartment in San Francisco to Los Angeles. It was a reasonable pice, accommodating to my schedule, and promised to wrap all furniture for free (boxes you had to pay for, but that's expected, always). Pricing Their pricing plan made a lot of sense-- 2,000 pounds is $x and any amount after that was charged accordingly. Accommodation I picked any day to make it work. The window they were going to come was pretty large, but there's always more for you to do when you move so it was no issue and they came pretty early (window 11am-6pm, showed up at 1pm). ALSO, I had to change my move about 5 days before from long distance to local (SF to Santa Clara) and Abby turned around a new quote and pickup date for me OVER THE PHONE. Abby is truly so accommodating and friendly. When Gabriel and his team got to my apartment, they moved really quick (9 boxes, a bed, and a sectional sofa) in under 40 minutes without an elevator. They were really nice guys-- laughing and joking with each other the whole time. Wrapping furniture They wrapped my bed, couch, and both dressers for free so they wouldn't get destroyed during the move. Overall, it was a great experience. I have never used a moving service before and I can say I am now spoiled! Everyone involved did such a great job! Jose, Hector and Walter all were very respectful and packed everything in an efficient matter. We worked with Veronica Romero, which my boyfriend had mentioned talking to her that she was knowledgable and had a friendly demeanor and he had been access Hector and The movers were on time and got everything done in 3 hours, thank goodness! Charged us about $300 or so, I did buy the Yelp deal as well $20 for $50... so a $30 deal... which basically broke even as I left a tip as well. They took apart our bed and put it together perfectly! They wrapped up all our furniture and made sure everything had been protected. We saw no damage. The truck they used was massive! We could have fit another apartment full of stuff. I can say this had been a overall success and I can see myself using them again. read more

We have a 3bedroom house, not too much furniture but still a truck load and they had it packed and unloaded well with the 3hours paid for. Initially I gave three stars because they did an OK job. I got a phone call the next day from Abby, and Abby handled my feedback professionally so updated to four stars. ---- The good: - I got a pretty good rate for 3 people. - My new apartment is within a 10 minute drive of my old apartment, so double-driving did not kick in. - They were extremely quick! They moved my 1br apartment under 3 hours (although still had to meet the 3-hour minimum, which is fine). - I lived on the 3rd floor and moved to another apartment on the third floor with no elevator. I tipped 15% because of this + their quickness/general positive attitude. The bad: - Nearly every piece of furniture got a scratch. Granted, most of my furniture already had a scratch or two, but I would still expect them to treat my items with care. They were not wrapped in blankets even though the service description says they provide blankets to wrap furniture. -They put everything into one room, and maybe this is my fault for not communicating better, but also... they just did it without asking. read more

Update: after seeing my review, prodigy reached out to me to further compensate me, which I thought was very professional of them. Initially, they were unprofessional. Tried to charge us more than we were quoted. We had some heavy marble shelves that looks like the hulk came and broke them across his knee. The broken marble shelves came in a box labeled broken and they didn't even tell us when it was obvious they knew they broke them. Many small items that they packed came broken. They scratched the wall of our new apartment. After reading my review they called me and assured me that they would bring my case up in a company wide meeting to learn and improve. They have many good reviews which is why I chose them so I may have gotten unlucky and ran into some rare bad employees read more

The price was exactly what I was looking for, the crew showed up right on time, and it only took like two days to get the stuff delivered. The crew was even super patient with my partner and I's lack of preparation and moved with great speed and diligence.
