We discovered a burst pipe outside our office building. It was the main line from the backflow valve to our building, directly under our parking lot. Called a licensed commercial plumber we've used in the past for an estimate. We were told it would take 4 days to complete. I always instruct my team to get multiple bids. I found Prodigy Plumbing on Yelp and decided to use their bid as a benchmark for the others. Prodigy sent us a Senior Technician, Luis, who was great to work with. Professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. He was able to provide us with a better solution that only took 1 day to complete and saved us over $10,000. They completed the work on time as promised. They have a great team. Juan and Jordan were great to work with as well. They even went above and beyond and provided us with a new shut off valve closer to our building as well as a new hose bibb, since the building previously had no exterior hose bibbs. We got more value for less time and money. And when a small issue arose because of the rain, they stood by their work and immediate came the next morning to address it. We had the plumbers to come out to check out the leak outside of the house and slow draining of the toilet. Got a quote of 42,000 of redoing all pipes, we didn't do what was quoted but did a patial work, where they showed the old kitchen pipe was leaking. We had a small water leak inside our wall between the dining room and kitchen. We called Prodigy Plumbing the next day to take a look at the leak. They had a technician come out to our house within the next hour. Steven our plumbing technician was very friendly, courteous, and thorough with his assessment of the leak. Our house is on a raised foundation and so he was able to get through the crawl space and see the severity of the leak. He was also equipped with high end and technical tools to detect the moisture in our wall. He then explained the work that he would he need to do to fix the leak. He proceeded to cut a small hole into our drywall and was able to replace the leak in our copper pipe. Two hours later we had running water again. He was also thorough to make sure the area was cleaned. He covered a the hole in the wall with plastic and tape to allow the wood that had been soaked to dry out. Unfortunately, they do not do drywall repair, but I was referred to a company that they work with who does mold clean up and does drywall work. They were able to come within a day, and earlier than originally scheduled, which worked out perfectly! Steven Garcia and Jose Flores were friendly, clean, and quick with their diagnosis. I'm always impressed with Prodigy. We had them come over to check on our toilet and it turned out our 100 year old house had its original pipes and needed replacing. Juan and Alexis repiped ALL of the drains in the house in 1 day. I was warned we might need to replace siding but they made it work so none of the original siding was damaged. They warned it could take 2 days but we were back in the house (which was very clean) at 11 the next day. The only indication they were ever there was the patching behind the toilet. My rating for Prodigy dropped when I was forced to Yelp to provide a review. That's something that should be voluntary based on the degree of service received whether its positive or negative. When you force the review to a social media platform, you get what you deserve I suppose. After missing two days in a row causing me to juggle appointments and plans to accommodate Prodigy, the tech Mike finally came out and did do a fine job overall. This despite him having to leave for almost 1.5 hours, to get the Moen device that was to be installed. The job was handled well enough and the pricing for all work performed was very reasonable compared to other bids I rcv'd. These folks seemed to want to do an efficient, cost-effective job for their clientele, but they perhaps need to review and revise some of their processes including job prep and communications skills. If my regular plumber was able to handle the Auto Leak Detect Valve needed, I probably would not have made the call to Prodigy, but they were the one reasonably priced option and despite the hiccups and missteps, I am satisfied with the job and will keep Prodigy's number for future potential service. read more

My tenant's water heater failed and so I made several calls. Prodigy was the first reply and able to come out same day to check it. They came out, quoted a job, and replaced it next day. I do wish I'd spoken to more companies in hindsight. What I didn't know is that $5850 for an on demand water makes other plumber's choke on their dinner high (legit happened). I can't tell you how much the water heater cost as I don't currently have access to it and they refused, after several requests, to send me the manuals or even a receipt listing the model. However googling the make for it returns on demand heaters from $800-$1600. This was for a one bathroom home so no need for the high end heater. But let's pretend it was the most expensive, and pretend they don't get any professional discount, it works out to around $4200 for labor (and maybe a few hoses or small parts). (They refused to provide an itemized bill so I can't give you an exact breakdown). Granted, I signed the estimate not realizing that is was apparently quite high in the industry (after speaking to several professionals) BUT they did come out same day and fix it the next, so credit where credit is due. I still would like at a minimum the manual that should have come with it ... I would recommend getting multiple quotes just to make sure the price and timing is right for you. read more

Then when I said I would think about it, he was almost insulted that I didn't give him an answer right there and then. I hated the whole process, it was too sales-y. All I wanted was a pipe fixed. Alexis was very friendly and fixed the problem, but I had to pay for two services when it should have just been one. We had a clogged main drain and Alexis said he could snake it and after he did he said that it's pretty much just going to push the debris throughout the pipes and they will continue to clog so we need to do the hydro jet. The snaking service was $270 and then the hydro jet was another $450 so I had to pay $720 total. The hydro jetting should have been an option in the beginning. I feel like I had to pay for an unnecessary service to start out with when the hydro jet service was inevitable... Not happy about that. Giving 3 stars because he did fix the problem in the end and also made sure everything was cleaned up. read more

At 8:20pm they called they were too far away and can't come until tomorrow in the late morning. Don't waste your time and call someone that can follow through with their plans. I called early on a Saturday and was set up with an appointment really quickly and on the same day. Alexis came by very quickly to help diagnose a leaking sound we heard from the attic. Strangely enough, it was just our fan creating the leak-like sound! He was able to help us find the source of the sound after going up into the attic and not hearing it up there. Glad it wasn't an actual leak since it would have gotten expensive.
