Several days ago, my aging GE Smart Water filtration system began to " act up". After googling for several hours and watching way too many YouTube videos and not getting any answers, I decided to call for an expert's help before the long Labor Day weekend. Yelp is my "go to" site for local experts and the first listing was Prodigy Plumbing. I love the name! Prodigy's hundreds of 5 Star Reviews just blew me away and I was compelled to also check out their website. It was very impressive, so I made the call to request a quote. Prodigy's dispatcher was very courteous and professional, and he said I'd hear from a technician in 10-15 minutes. Sure enough, within minutes, Shane (just like the great, classic western movie) called and said he'd be at my door in 30 minutes. Shane arrived on time and immediately gave me 3 options on how to fix my filtration system. He obviously has a working knowledge concerning water softener equipment and talking through all my questions was really helpful and a relief to get answers. I will definitely call Prodigy again and Shane said I can request him specifically when I'm ready to do future home improvement tasks like installing new faucet fixtures. David, Ozzy and I forgot the other guys name lol very cool and professional plumbers. I came across Prodigy Plumbers because of their high rating on Yelp. I'm glad I called them. David came the next day and gave me a quote on the sewer smell beneath my house. After inspection.. it happened to be my shower's plumbing. It was detached! And my toilet cast iron flange was leaking. So I decided to go for it! They replaced the cast iron flange for a more modern PVC kind. At first, the price seemed a lil too much for me but.. hey!.. they came fast, on time!, and very cool and professional! So that right there deserve a 5 star for me. I always say.. good things dont come cheap. Sometimes because you wanna save money and hire someone cheap.. it bites you! Anyways.. Ozzy and crew did a great job. Work ethic on point. They do their best to keep it clean while they work and after they're done. What made it more awesome.. I have a second restroom which I tried to change the toilet myself and failed.. We called Prodigy praying for a same-day appointment. Our kitchen sink was clogged and we couldn't basically live a normal life. The woman on the phone happily scheduled a technician to come out and take a look same day. They gave me a 2 hour window (3PM-5PM) and the technician called to let me know he was on his way and would be there by 3:10! David was very cool and had our problem fixed in no time for an affordable price. This is the second time we use Prodigy (for 2 different issues) and they are always fast and efficient. Matt is awesome! He responded within minutes and came out on the same day I called him, to evaluate the flooded garage from the last storm. So let me just say that these guys were AWESOME!I'm a real estate agent and I can tell you finding a handy man, contractor, painter and especially a plumber that can be on time and do a great job is almost impossible. We had a shower head that gave up on us a couple of weeks back and needed help quick. We called them and they gave us a time window that wasn't to big for the next day. Plumber whose name was David arrived around the beginning of the window which was much appreciated. He looked at the shower head and took care of it in like seconds.. Very old water heater started leaking at one of my rentals. Called Prodigy Plumbing at 8:00 am. They arrived at 9:00 am and finished installing a new Bradford Water Heater with new steel stand by 12:00 pm. Prodigy did not give the lowest estimate, but if you want a plumber to start in 1 hour and finish by lunch time, this is the company to call. We've been loyal customers of Prodigy Plumbing for over 6 years now having them service two properties, one duplex and a single home. That is the equivalent of three homes combined. Jake has been awesome to work with. He is very detailed, courteous, and even provides pictures of the problems in our properties. Let me start by saying that I got 4 different quotes from highly rated/reviewed plumbing companies here on Yelp. Matt Down came out to our house & was very thorough, asked questions, took measurements, used different tools to gauge/measure & ran a video in the piping (for free) so he could give a proper assessment/quote. I actually had one company that came out & gave me a quote that didn't even run a video in the pipes (they were going to charge me $200+ to run the video). Not only was Prodigy the most professional/thorough when diagnosing the problem, but they just so happened to be the LEAST EXPENSIVE too, so for us it was a no-brainer! My main pipe (still the original clay type) had several areas that were damaged by roots & age & needed to be replaced. Matt suggested a pipe-burst for the majority & the main pipe going out to the street he recommended to re-line the inside, so we went his suggestions. Matt & his crew (led by Marco) showed up to my house on Monday morning ready to work (despite a little bit of rain) & began to prep the area by digging. For the scope of work that needed to be done, I figured they would be there all week, but Matt assured me they would probably be wrapped up by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest & we would only be unable to use the water for about 6-8 hours on their final day there. As their work progressed, Matt would give me updates on what they were doing & even sent me some pictures. Sure enough, by Tuesday afternoon/evening, the work was complete, we were able to use our water again & the crew came back on Wednesday morning to put back the dirt/grass in our front yard. They also installed a 2-way cleanout in our front yard because we didn't have one in the front. *Just a small complaint* (if you want to call it that), the crew did notice that I didn't have a water emergency shut-off valve installed so if a pipe were to burst in the future, I would have to shut off the water from the valve on the sidewalk which requires a special type of tool. The work was already completed & Matt said that they probably should have suggested/installed one while they were doing the work so now I will have to call them back to install the shut-off valve (which he quoted to be about $200-$300). I wish I would have known because I would have just taken care of it while they were doing the other work. This doesn't, however, effect the 5 star rating we chose to give them. It's been a few weeks & the plumbing has been perfect so far! If we ever have plumbing problems in the future, they will definitely be the first that we call! Great job, Prodigy Plumbing team! Our water heater stopped working and after an assessment from the Gas company, we were advised to call a plumber because of a bad thermal coupler. Philip at Prodigy got an appt the next day. The real hero was Alexis who confirmed the issue with thermal coupler and gave us options which ranged from replacing the thermal coupler to replacing the water heater. He gave recommendations but was not pushy. Alexis went above and beyond and tried to use the thermal coupler he had in his inventory, but it did not work. He called his parts guy and got confirmation they could get us the part the next business day. Alexis was in and out in an hour, fast and efficient! Thank you for going above and beyond.
