I am rating them for inflexibility, and not for quality of work. I called them on a Tuesday and they offer me an appointment for Wednesday fro 2-4. I said I could get out of work at 3 and asked if they could change the time window. They said they couldn't, so I went with it. On Wednesday, they call me at 12:20 saying they are on their way. I told the receptionist that my appointment was from 2-4. She asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I reminded her that my appointment was not at 12:20. She finally agreed on sending the plumber at the agreed time, but they came right at 2 knowing, it was hard for me to be home before 3. After I communicated they said they dispatched the plumber to another job and that they did not have anything until the next week. It doesn't seem to me that they care much about doing business if the can't work with their clients schedules. read more

Professor Plumb offers a fantastic plumbing service. I recently purchased a home and had a major pipe going upstairs that was smaller in diameter than regulation. This caused the hot-water valve upstairs to receive extremely low water pressure to the point that the washing machine wouldn't fall over to the next cycle because of it's 6 minute 'time-out' period. After exhausting all efforts to identify this issue outside of the walls, Blue was able to come in and do just that in a minimally invasive fashion. He cut a small hole in the drywall under the washing machine valve box (upstairs above kitchen) and a small hole in the corner of the kitchen ceiling. With these, he was able to fix the entire water pressure issue. Though it seemed like a huge effort, the end result was fantastic and I couldn't be happier with Blue's professionalism and logical, articulated explanations of why there was an issue and why his solution was going to fix that issue. I wan't here during the service, but from looking at the work, it's obvious he really knows what he is doing and puts the customer first! The cost of the job came out slightly higher than quoted, but he gave me a discount to get back to the original cost. Amanda sets up a two hour window, calls you when the plumber is 30 minutes out, and they were never late. Brandon handled our problem with this latest visit and he was a pleasure to work with. The guys are great! We did a full kitchen and master bath remodel on our new house. This company was referred to us by a friend. From the time they came to do the bid to the very end (6 weeks later!!) They were great! They had to make many trips to our house as we moved some plumbing and had to replace some things. They were always willing to work me in on short notice, and always showed up and on time to the pre-planned work days! We had some pretty tough work, especially in the bathroom (adding shower lines and rough in for specialty tub and faucets), they did a fantastic job and even cleaned up after themselves everyday!! They communicated with me about every detail (they seem small, but if the tub is off centered by 1" I would notice!) They worked with my over obsession with everything having to be just perfect....and they actually seemed to understand why I was so concerned about all of the finishes being a certain way! One thing Angie's list does that I like is the amount spent...we spent about $4000.00 (to let you know we had quite a bit of work...) I would recommend Professor Plumb to ANY ONE!!! Great experience with Brian and Blue at Professor Plumb! I moved to Texas with my gas dryer and the home I moved into was only setup for an electric dryer. I quoted the job with 3 different plumbers and Professor Plumb came in with the best price and best reviews. Brian was able to setup the gas line on a Thursday, the city inspector came on Friday and green tagged the job and Brian came back Friday afternoon and finished the job. I had my dryer working by that evening. They also have great communication by calling ahead to let you know they are coming and they show up when they say they are going to arrive. We had an issue where our tub was backing up and the toilet would not flush, a nightmare, especially when you have only one bathroom. My hero of a husband had given a valiant effort, snaking the pipes and even climbing on the roof to try and repair the problem. However, it was Blue and Professor Plumb to the rescue. He walked my husband through the repair process, gave us several tips on how to reduce the possible recurrence of the problem (buying a new toilet, changing toilet paper, etc) and gave us an incredibly fair quote for the pipes that we'll need to replace. Very, very, very thankful to have found Professor Plumb via Yelp. Coming from out of town, I didn't really have anyone I could ask for recommendations for an honest plumber. So before committing to a plumber, I had shopped around and received a few quotes for a new water heater. One company (which I won't name) came out and quoted me at a price for which I believed was just a tad higher than what I expected in my book, and that was fine..but keep in mind they also wanted to charge and additional 1/2 hourly rate it would've taken to complete the installation (~2 hours). I also pointed out a few other areas of the home I was concerned about which were coming from the attic, but was told that it would be an additional $200 just to peak into the access panel due to it being "difficult to get into." $200..? Are you kidding me? I then proceeded to inform him that I'd just do it myself, and if there was an issue I noticed I would then call him back. Here come's Professor Plumb the next day where Amber, their office rep is always up to date on informing you on the ETA of their arrival. The co-owner, Blue had arrived within the time frame agreed upon. He took a look at everything mentioned above and proceeded to provide a flat fee, final quote for the water heater and installation for less than HALF the price of the company's quote mentioned above - AND without any 1/2 hourly or hourly charges for installation. I even asked him if he wanted to take a look at the quote I received BEFORE he provided me with one so that I could give him the opportunity to beat it. However, he informed me that he wouldn't need to since he knew he'd be able to beat it regardless. Talk about being honest. The water heater had to be ordered and Blue was able to deliver and install it the next day in about 1.5 hours. He also took the courtesy of taking a ladder up to the second floor to take a look in the attic (free of charge) and informed me that there were no issues. What also surprised me was that he asked if he could fix my toilet downstairs as the flapper needed to be replaced. Who does that?? Suffice it to say, Blue and his company Professor Plumb is one of the most honest, fair, and customer service friendly people you will ever meet in this industry. Blue will be sure to let you know that although they won't always be the cheapest, they'll always do their best to give their customers the most honest and fair deal they can provide. Hands down, Professor Plumb will be my go to guy for ANY plumbing services going forward.
