We experienced a water leak into our garage that was originally thought to be water leaking in from the planted area after our recent heavy rain. This had occurred in the past. This past Sunday I read a Community Facebook Page post that stated they they had a leak in their garage, in our same community, so, I read that they had contacted Prostar Plumbing. I immediately called and they answered saying that they would stop by after taking care of the other garage in the area. Damon called and came over on Monday afternoon as scheduled. The initial visual inspection appeared that there was a leak between the main at the street and our hose and cut-off valve located in the garage. Damon contacted our Community President and he came over to look at it, since this would be an Association issue. Damon was scheduled to come back on Tuesday to discuss. Prior to his return, early Tuesday morning, I noticed a large continuous flow of water coming from the Water Heater room outside my Town-home. I took video and sent it to both Damon and Eric (with whom I had also met on Tuesday but had spoken to on the phone on Monday). They both determined that the water had been leaking slowly from the water heater and this was the primary cause of the leak. It was further determined that the Bradford White gas water heater back had ruptured causing the significant flow. Damon and Eric said that they would come back on Wednesday morning and install the new Bradford White water heater. They turned-off the hot water and that stopped the main leakage into the garage and out the water heater room. Damon arrived yesterday morning as scheduled, installed the new heater and other associated peripheral equipment. I am happy to say that there is no additional leakage, the garage floor is drying up. We are extremely pleased with Prostar and Damon's professionalism, courtesy, knowledge and safety consciousness during this Pandemic. We highly recommend Prostar and all of their staff and will use them for all of our future plumbing needs. read more

First the positive; I called Prostar Plumbing just before lunch on a Friday because my son called in a panic that water was dripping out of the garage ceiling while my wife was upstairs taking a shower. They answered immediately, and they were able to come over to assess the leak within the hour. That's good service. They were clean, professional & polite. The owner is also a veteran, and I like that. HOWEVER. On my way home to meet them, I was contacted by Jarvis Restoration. Who? I had no idea who they were and I was informed that Prostar called them to come out, BEFORE Prostar even showed up at my house or talked to me about it, which rankled me. So 2 guys from Prostar show up, cut 3 holes in my drywall looking for the leak for 2 hours, could NOT find it and wound up charging me $400, which worked out to $100 per hour PER guy. That's a mighty fine salary, let me tell you. It wouldn't have been so bad had they FOUND the leak and FIXED it. To add insult to injury, I put a little diagnostic brain power into the problem myself and found it was only the tub spout diverter that was leaking backwards into the wall. I went to Home Depot, and bought a new one for $20 and fixed it myself. In the meantime, Jarvis Restoration comes out, scares the heck out of me with tales of mold, mildew and asbestos and cuts a 4th hole in my drywall. Long story short, they put two dehumidifiers (that ultimately did next to nothing) in the house and charged me $850 for a "mandatory" asbestos check (none found) and $1,100 to leave two machines running on my electricity for 3 days. Jarvis then tells me that if I turn this into the insurance company, they will have to send me "new" invoices with greatly increased prices (example, $800 drywall repair became $2,100, no joke). WHAT? There shouldn't be a two tier price structure, I certainly don't run MY business that way. TLDR; I paid OVER $2,300 to have my house torn up and nothing got fixed. I fixed my own leak for $20 bucks, and did drywall repair myself for $50 bucks and most of a Saturday. read more

We had a leak behind our kitchen cabinet and they immediately got us a great restoration company to take out the cabinet so they could repair the leak. They showed up very quickly, were very friendly, and did a great job on the leak for a reasonable price. Additionally, while they were at our house they cleaned out our master shower drain that was backing up on us. While we had the cabinet removed, they identified a second leak that we knew nothing about that was coming from the master shower. Without their expertise, we would have closed up the cabinet without knowing about the second leak and it would have caused even more damage. Now that we know about it, they are able to fix the second leak before closing up the cabinet. Worst circumstances; Best outcome! Imagine arriving home from out of town to find water streaming from your garage (on Easter Sunday). Yep, the water heater gave up the ghost. Called Pro Star based on reviews and (!!) they answered right away. Since the supply house was closed they couldn't get a replacement till the next day, so we scheduled it- even though I headed back out of town and had to trust them to do it basically on remote control. Updating my review to 1 star. The insincere half apology in their response to my review doesn't address or acknowledge the fact that the plumber Prostar sent over did not say a word to me before leaving about the fact that he was unable to install half of the parts we hired him to install. But, of course, Earl was more than happy to accept our money and the tip we gave him before leaving (thinking he had actually done the job). Also, no, he did not simply leave parts in our sink so we could return them, as you're suggesting. He took the shower head from it's packaging, installed it, and then instead of throwing the packaging in the trash, threw it in our sink and left it there along with the other parts. He did this in both bathrooms. That's not professional, and rather than acknowledge the mistake, you're embarrassing yourselves further by trying to shift the blame onto your customer.
