Her smile and service were awesome and I would have to say that it was really fun and refreshing to meet somebody who was very passionate about their job and was well versed on the facility itself. I've had a storage space here for a year and this location is so terrible. 1. They lock the bathroom. You used to have to wait in the lobby for a staff member to open it which sometimes takes forever. Now, they just said it's out of order. 2. The main lobby elevator has been broken for over a month and you have to go all the way around the back to get into your storage. 3. Then, they sometimes shut down the back elevator and you have to use the stairs! I have heavy equipment stored in there and am unable to get to it for my business. I pay almost $300 for a storage unit. 4. They raise the prices every few months. I got my storage a year ago and started at $100 for my little 5x10 unit and the price has gone up twice. Don't rent here. I originally went here for the location but it's terrible. Will definitely be moving out. read more

SERIOUS PSA!! Please be cautious when renting a unit here. We started renting 6 months ago and I just received a notice that my unit rental price will increase from $181 to $243(See attached photos)! Apparently they have the right to jack the price up whenever they want. I reached out it was a chat with a mainland person. Long story short they said what it costs to maintain the facilities is out of their control and this is why it went up. So please just be careful. A $52 jump is crazy considering I am a good customer. I did nothing absolutely wrong. 1. My payments are on auto pay 2. I'm storing my husband's business materials (not a load of junk) 3. Although specific sites may have excellent managers and treat the customers well, Public Storage corporate is out to gouge the customers and the company does not empower the site managers or their district managers to provide a good customer experience. If you are looking for long-term storage, this is NOT the company to work with. They raise their prices regularly. They will work with you and submit exceptions for so long, but this time around they raised my rent by 25%!!! Their logic was, "we have to raise prices based on market and demand, just like an airline raises their prices." My response to that retort is the airlines don't raise the price on you while you are mid-flight. If the rate increases were on par with inflation, or within reason, that would make sense, but they push hard to get you out by raising your rent to unreasonable rates because they want to rent it out at the new rate. When I spoke to my district manager she said "I have done everything I can," which is either a cop-out, or it means the corporate office and the people who make decisions are not the people who actually work with the customers. They do not empower their leaders to lead and run their businesses. read more

ABSOLUTELY REGRET RENTING A STORAGE UNIT FROM HERE. The business hours are inconvenient and unlike other places in the country, your stuff is inaccessible 24/7. The access key in the app doesn't work and you have to enter a gazillion numbers to get in the building and the elevator!!! And they're open from 6 am to 6 pm Monday thru Friday where people are at work and stuck in traffic. And the weekend hours are until 5 pm!!!! Eventhough they had told my husband that they were open until 6 pm! We're moving our stuff to a different storage next month since we had paid for this month already. We are currently renting a unit from the Public Storage in Pearl City. It's tucked away off Kam Hwy, across from Walmart. Access is easy, no busy Highway with transients nearby, well lit, secure and staff is always onsite during business hours to assist. Parking is easy, and there are always carts available to haul your items to and from your unit. What I like about this facility is that the staff are so very helpful. I ran in to some issues with the rent increasing. I understand that with the economy and inflation, this happens. But there are times when the increases puts the customer in a position where they can't afford it and may have to look elsewhere. Public Storage appreciates my business, knows it's long term and wants to help me so we can maintain our partnership. Michelle & Martha at PS, have both gone above and beyond to help me figure what the best plan is for me. Even if it doesn't work out (I will post update later) Their service is worth noting and recognizing. I highly recommend this facility for storage, it's safe, clean and staffed with some pretty exceptional people. read more

I had a great experience w Lou trying to transfer into a new unit which allows 3 days to move belongings into the new unit from the old. I came in on the late afternoon making the late hour a bust for counting it as 1 of the 3 days. Lou patiently tried several options but the system would only allow to start the first of the 3 days immediately and I was trying to start it the following day. Lou was calm, pleasant to talk to and empathetic. He suggested putting a reservation in which would hold the price til I could return for a full day. I continue my review in another entry as when I came back the following day my experience slumped back to what I have gotten used to at this location. read more

Customer service was very good, and check in went very smooth and fast. I got 1st floor (easy access) and inside the building (secure & climate controlled), very happy with this unit and location of the building (convenient). The only thing is that the floors inside of this building is carpet instead of hard floor, and shows many stains. Otherwise, I am very happy with this storage. read more

Extremely poor customer service at this particular location! You will be doing yourself a favor by staying away from here!! When I signed up for a large unit at plus $700/month, I was also given the second month free. Initially, the staff seemed to be friendly but admittedly a little ignorant. However, since moving in just a day later, my experience has been less than poor, and is a direct result of the rude and cocky interactions that I have experienced with the manager, Martha Coon. Once, I was removing some items from the unit, and was approached by Martha who quite rudely told me that I better be done by the time they close the gate, and even after friendly responding that we would be sure to be out, she felt the need to sarcastically respond that we had better be. Numerous encounters that followed where I had entered the front office to ask some simple questions, I was left feeling like I was being bothersome and would consistently receive extremely impolite attitude. These few uncomfortable situations deterred any future inquiries. Most recently, I received a rude voicemail (I wish I could attach it here) from Martha demanding that I remove the contents from my unit, and reiterating that it "has to be done immediately. Give me a call back!" -- add condescending tone and sass. Mind you, my lease isn't close to expired. I also have the second month free lease promo mentioned earlier. Still, I have decided to relocate to another location. The credit isn't even worth pursuing! Martha is a really unfriendly person and an incompetent manager, and it is reflected in numerous online reviews and in the condition of the facility. Sadly, this seems to be a long-standing and recurring issue, and I wish I had performed a Yelp search prior to leasing the unit at this location. read more

Don't get fooled by the cheap prices, this place is a dump. Literally I have not seen any other facility with such problems and little regard for caring for the building. There are bugs everywhere, lights out for years, part of the roof is constantly falling into the parking lot and "temperature controlled" means 80 degrees. Most of the time my unit is hotter than it is outside. A few months ago the bathrooms were out of commission for several weeks, and I cannot understand what would take so long to fix a toilet. In addition, the staff has an attitude problem most of the time. I emailed the general manager because my code was shut off one day, and I work from my storage unit. This cost me hours and hundreds of dollars. I pay nearly $600 a month in fees and I was locked out of my own unit. The Manager hasn't even bothered to respond to me. Argh! Need storage now. Too much stuff! Wifey and son went to look for storage and found this place while looking for public storage. Tricky name for the internet. Of course this is the first listing that comes up. Strange that the Pearl City location was closer but this location gave piroity. Anyways, they signed up on line and got fifty percent off the first month. This is before I told them if they yelped them, the first month would have been $1. Too late now. Facility is as clean as Public Storage locations I've been too. But this one is carpeted. It didn't smell, but was stained in several places. Air conditioning was on, but it was still very uncomfortable to be in there. I think it was running a dehumidifier, not an AC. Locker had stained carpets, but no smells. But one of the lockers we passed you could smell cigarette smoke. PHEW! Found some items stuck in the ceiling, rafters, and support from the previous occupant. I guessed it was missed because it was behind the rafters and there is no light inside the locker. Got a locker on the back side because it was closer to the load parking. Dropped two stars because... 1. Carts are only available at the front. You cannot cross the interior to get to the front. We had to park in the back, Walk in the rain to the front, got our cart, Walk in the rain to the back to unload. Walk in the rain to return the cart, and walk in the rain again to get back to the car. Access across the interior of the building is possible. But not allowed. 2. Not their fault, wouldn't give us the Yelp deal because wifey already signed for the internet discount. Even if nothing was moved in yet. 3. Mandatory insurance. 4. Lock acceptance. Yeah it was a cheap lock, but it was just stuff. We didn't even need insurance. $100 deductible. The entire contents wouldn't be worth that much. And couldn't be replaced anyway. We would sign a waiver if we could. 5. Turn up the AC! Yeah climate controlled. But DAMN! They can turn off when they closed or nobody in there. 6. Lockers were dark. Hint: bring your own light! 7. Should have longer hours on weekends. People move on weekends, not weekdays. This is a newer location, but some other Public Storage locations was more desirable conditions. Granted we are just storing inanimate items, but moving stuff still involves live humans. I understand security, but please allow access through the building, or put carts in the back. They can lock the carts in the back, just like they do in the front. And use the cameras to make sure we return them. I could pickup a key in front before going to the back. Go in back and unload or load. Lock the cart when done. And return the key. They can check the cameras to insure the cart was returned. Same way as in the front, they just look out the window to see if the cart is there. Make an exception during inclement weather to cross the interior of the building. Jeeze. Dropped one more star because of this. Hot, sweaty, and wet. Hope I don't get sick. read more

I've had a 10x10 unit at this PS for several years now. When I came in there to rent a unit, I was very impressed with the cleanliness and with the cheerful good service I received from Kayla and Kaila. Those ladies are no longer there. Maybe I was spoiled by them, but the attendants since then have been grudgingly cordial, a far cry from friendly. For almost the last TWO YEARS the light in front of my unit has been out. For the last about year and a half I have been asking them to fix it, probably about 12 times now. Some units have a light in front plus an overhead, and we have neither. So it makes it hard for me to find my items in the storage. The attendant always tells me it will be reported. I always ask to have the district supervisor call me and no one has ever called me. There is no longer men's and women's restrooms. Now everyone has to use one restroom and it is filthy and disgusting. On top of that, the rate they charge me has gone up every year. So the rate they pull you in with is a bait and switch. I definitely do not recommend this Public Storage. read more

Got a 5x10 storage here. The place is clean. I like how they have a great NO BREAK-IN record which is the MAIN reason why we went with them. Too many break-ins at the other storage facilities lately and we no like chance 'em. We also liked how the space we rented had a high ceiling so we could stack stuff. We were in a rush to go pick up our moving van so when we saw one worker in the office we thought we were going to be waiting a while, but we were proven wrong. Martha not only helped us right away and got us squared away but also helped 2 other people with different requests simultaneously. It was funny to watch her go back and forth between two computers to get us situated and she did it all with a sense of humor. We were in and out and made it in time to pick up our truck. Even the lady next to us was laughing and saying every time she comes by, she sees her (Martha) busy doing SOMETHING whether it's sweeping, picking up trash, helping people out, etc. Somebody give this lady a raise! read more

I've been a customer for a little over a year now and have to say that I'm pretty disappointed in this location's customer service. When I first moved my belongings in, everything was just peachy. The customer service was pretty good and I had no complaints. A couple of months into my contract, I decided to sign up for Auto Pay to have one less thing to worry about every month. Almost 2 months after signing up for Auto Pay, the phone calls started. I started getting calls from the employees saying that I had an outstanding balance and a couple of late fees to pay for. On top of that, they said that I had to pay for returned check fees. Returned check fees? I had placed my debit card on file for the Auto Pay and never had any overdraft fees. Public Storage also sent me invoices and payment confirmations but there was no communication when they supposedly did not receive my payment. They waited over a month before telling me I was overdue and had some late fees and returned check fees. I refused to pay them because I was not late and had set up my account with Auto Pay. I double-checked with my bank to see if I had been overdrawn and they said no. It was a long process, the employees kept calling regarding my payments and it was always a different employee who called. I finally changed my payment method for my Auto Pay and after telling them I planned to move my things out and use another storage facility, they waived my late fees. THEN, about a month later, I got a phone call from an employee telling me that I had to pay for a new lock for my storage unit. Say what? A new lock for what? They said they had to cut my lock and replace it with one of their own when I wasn't making payments. First of all, please tell me you are going to cut my lock before doing so and second, I wasn't late on payments so why did you cut my lock in the first place? I got numerous calls from employees but all of them failed to inform me that my lock was going to be cut and the contents of my unit were going to be put on auction. After hearing this, I told them that I wasn't going to pay for the new lock and demanded the keys. I had to explain my whole situation over and over because different employees kept calling me and each one of them said that they would check with their district manager and get back to me. Well guess what Public Storage, your employees are horrible on the follow-up and follow-through process. No one got back to me although different employees called me numerous times and I finally called and told them I was going to give them my move out notice. Boy that got them to do something again. They didn't charge me for the spare keys afterall but I have just about had it with them. Their communication skills are lacking and none of their employees have gone on their word to follow up on anything any get back to me. It has been a very frustrating process and had I known that I was going to encounter all of this, I would have chosen another company or location for my storage unit. read more

I live in an apartment building in Pearl City with no residential parking stalls available, so I usually attempt to find street parking. Occasionally, I'll get lucky, but more often I'll get parking tickets #thestruggleisreal Looking for an alternative to the daily grind, I decided to call Public Storage to request parking storage with the intent to use it as a daily accessed parking space. Kaila, the incredibly sweet and knowledgeable associate at the front desk, and I had been in contact for about a month. I'd constantly annoy her with the question, "is there any parking unit available yet?" And she'd always politely respond, "not yet, but you're the first person on our waiting list, so we'll contact you as soon as one is available." She informed me that units typically open up towards the beginning and ending of the month. Kaila's observation was on point. At the month's end, I finally got my stall! Thanks to the great staff at Pearl City Public Storage, I can finally sleep soundly knowing that my car is not only free from parking tickets, but safely kept, too! Customer service at this facility has never been the same since Public Storage took over from Lock Up. LOCK UP Self Storage provided exceptional customer service before, we may pay higher than Public Storage but it's worth it! LOCK UP's property manager was very friendly and customer oriented, they provide assistance for our storage needs. BUT now it lacks customer service and needs more facility maintenance hallway is dirty, our unit light flutters, elevator smells and area is hot, and they will increase rent! beware of nails, bolts and glass on the parking stalls... my tire got screwed many times, another hassle! Need to bring my car to a tire shop for tire repair. I do not recommend Public storage, go to a local storage instead. The manager at this facility is okay but I think they can do more customer service. I've been a long time customer at this facility and will move out soon. read more

At first, our initial visit for for a storage unit was great and welcoming. Anu, the sales clerk was very patient and helpful in fining out the requirements of our needs. We were able to secure a unit from a previous reservation at another PS location. THEN IT ALL CHANGE!!! The next day we came in to get our keys and pay. We were waiting patiently until a different sales clerk helped another customer. She turned to us and asked "what you need?" Not a can I help your or I'll be right with you after helping these customers. I hope this is not the Public Storage's standard for customers. read more

I am always greeted with a smile when I walk through the door. Mark was the move-in guy for me (curly-haired dude) and he was very thorough and organized, and saw to it that we understood everything before we left. Move in was great, carts already unlocked a big plus (compared to other sites), and although the "$1 Pays First Month!" Promotion actually came out to $44.00 (Kind of expected extra fees anyway, though- Lock was 17.99 and you have to use theirs, plus admin fees), it was still a great deal and a real upgrade from "the other guys" I feel bad leaving a local company, but PS price is too good, and the facility was beauitifully kept and secured, and i felt customer service and attention to detail far exceed anyone else I have stored with. However, it is only my first few days in, so that could change, of course. The staff is extremely nice and very helpful. They really make sure you have all the questions you have is answered. They even take you to your prospective new unit to make sure it is to your liking. Also the unit is air conditioned and they sell boxes and other things you would need for packing. They even sell this thing you can put in the unit so that it deals with the humidity in your space. Also the price isnt all bad. I have rented out a 10x10 space for $147 a month. There is a lot of parking there so I have not had issues with parking and they also provide a push cart to load all of your items. Would highly recommend this place. read more
