Their pizza is really good here. The cheese tastes so fresh and out of this world good. It's not chewy like other places. The pizza itself is the perfect medium between NY style and Sicilian style. It's round and easy to pick up, with a crispy crust and bottom, but the dough between the cheese and the bottom of the pie is soft and chewy. Toppings are always very fresh and tasty. Don't expect to get wings with your pizza from Fridays through Sunday though! The interior of the place is starting to look a little rough and outdated, especially in the dining room to the right as you walk in the front door. Food was ok but service was unbelievably bad! Told our waitress, Erica, that we had a plane to catch and would it be possible to just keep on it and help us out. "No problem" she said. But after waiting 40 minutes for a pizza and a child's pasta, we asked her if she could check on it. We could tell by the look on her face that she didn't put the order in. So every time I tried to ask her about it she would walk really fast by us and not look at us. Unbelievable! Just be a grown up and fess up to it! People that came in 10 minutes after us were finishing their pizza for heaven's sake! People make mistakes and we are reasonable people but don't be rude and invasive. The Publik House was recommended by two of my coworkers so we decided to try it out. We went at 530 on a Friday and it was rather crowded which is a good sign. The place was a lot smaller than expected. We waited about 20 minutes to sit (for 2 people) so we got a drink at the bar while waiting. The hostess walked over to us when our table was ready which was a nice. The atmosphere is pleasant but cramped at the same time. It seemed like a small-town place to go with lots of regulars. The lighting is bright and the music is quiet. However, the tables are cramped so you can hear everyone's conversation around you. There were too many people in a little space. We ordered appetizers to start...mild chicken wings and small salad. The salad was standard for a pizza place...no complaints. The wings were super crispy with just the right heat. They were a little dry though. I got the eggplant lovers and my boyfriend got the Hawaiian pizza. There are a lot of specialty pizzas to choose from as well as sandwiches and other dinners. It seemed like the pizza was the way to go though. The pizza did not disappoint. It had a nice thick crust, gooey cheese and tasty toppings. It tasted fresh and homemade. We ate half the 4 cut pizza because it was so filling. I wish it had a little less cheese and more sauce though...just my preference. Next time, we'll probably get take out because of how crowded the place was. But we will definitely get pizza there again. Very delicious. read more

I really do like the Publik House. They serve good chowder, chili, good to great sandwiches and pretty good pizza. However, nothing has ever been so good or so bad that I felt compelled to submit a review before. Been there numerous times and I'll be there numerous times again, so just file this one under "Shoulda Known Better". Tried their Salmon Caesar Salad last evening, 5/29/12. Terrible mistake on my part. No clue how they cooked it but the salmon looked, and chewed, like it had a wax coating on it and it was totally dried out. I ate it, mainly, because I was hungry and I could tolerate it. There wasn't enough taste in it to even comment on. Next, anybody ever had roasted red peppers on a Caesar salad? I haven't. The rest of the salad was just ok. Nothing remarkable or terrible. Suggestions: * Everything on the menu should be taste-tested by folks who absolutely love the particular item in question before its offered to the public. * Don't add any items just to fill the menu. It'll cost you much more than you'll ever profit from it. read more

Went to the Publik House last night and it was a disaster. We waited for a waitress for at least twenty five minutes. We asked several times"are you our server".No response! All four ordered meals two meals came out. My sandwich steak was cool and dry but I ate some of it. The other couple had to ask for their meal several times. Eggplant parm was ordered and he got chicken parm. The other lady's eggplant was burned on the ends and was returned. We waited an extremely long time and had to ask for it. Turned away twice in 2 weeks due to "closed for private party". The second occasion there was no sign on the door so we walked in unknowingly. Were greeted rudely by staff and the party attendees who happened to be law enforcement and were basically tossed out like criminal trespassers. As for the food, pizza and wings are good. Salads are pathetic. Sandwiches mediocre. Staff are friendly. Not sure i will go back again. read more

I visited this place on Sunday night 7/10/16. Great great pizza!!! We ate at the bar and had cheerful helpful bartender (Ericka?) she was very helpful in helping us to decide the pizza, we settled on the white special and it was awesome! The service and the cheerful attitude of the wait staff had us laughing and we truly enjoyed our dinner. I would return again and again and hope to have the same staff we had last night! Great place! The Publik House was great. Was craving pizza on a drive back to Buffalo from visiting a friend in Mechanicvile and we just pulled in as we were passing. Pretty casual, family dining style. Staff was very nice and attentative. They had a large menu and a lot of pizza variety. We went with two four slice pies -- one make your own with crispy crust and one white supreme which tasted exactly like garlic bread. It was absolutely delicious I am about to drive four hours to go taste it just typing it right now. Anyways, I wold highly recommend if you're looking for some quality food and speedy service. read more

Everything about here is just okay. I've only been twice, probably won't go back. We have pepperoni pizza and beers. The decor is very dated and could use a facelift. The location and space inside has a lot of potential. I'd love to see them spruce it up a little or have weekly happy hour specials advertised? read more

Save your money! There are too many other good restaurants in the area. Boneless chix wings were so hard you could break your teeth. Fantail shrimp were boxed, frozen and over cooked. The waitress was abrasive and rude. She was even belittling the younger waitress in front of costumers. Popcorn was even stale. Never again. read more

This place has the absolute best pizza in the area it's all my family ever orders here along with the chicken wings for appetizers. They're service is fast and prices are reasonable and the staff is nice. They're busiest days are usually Friday's and Saturday's so get there early. read more

I don't know what is going on at the Publik House. Their prioity is their take out business. Once you get seated the waitress tells you it is going to be a while if you are ordering pizza. The kitchen is backed up with take out orders. Really so the customers that are seated at the tables just keep ordering drinks and wait. I guess that is what the owner wants higher drink tabs. We have bee going to this place for over 20 years. Believe me they do not have the business as they used to have. All the waitresses have left you never see any of the regulars on Friday's night anymore. This place is going down hill very fast. Perhaps the owner should just have a take out pizza joint. This has happened the last 3 visits. My pizza came out cold and dry and the kitchen forgot my husband's Hot Turkey sandwich. I do have to say they took the turkey off our bill. That's about it. Stay away from this place unless you don't mind waiting 1 hour for a pizza. Better pizza's restaurants at there. read more
