We have been here several times for happy hour. Nice bar area with good service. Mondays they offer free bingo, which is fun and you receive candy prizes. They do play a blackout for $1 per card. Pots are usually around $100. The food is solid and standard Mexican fare. We have ordered Mexican pizza 4.5/5, quesadillas 4/5 (carnitas are best), taquitos 4/5. My daughter, son-in-law, wife, and I dined here on Father's Day after catching a movie at the theater just down the street. We had made a reservation in advance but arriving just before 6pm it didn't seem necessary. The restaurant dining rooms are huge with plenty of space. There is also a big bar area with even more space. I bet that area is fun when there is a football game being broadcast. We were seated at a large, comfy booth and given menus that perhaps had too many options to choose from. Our server greeted us and took our drink order of margaritas and a beer for me. These showed up quickly and we placed our dinner orders. I ordered chicken tacos with beans and rice with their in house made flour tortillas. Surprisingly, this is a DIY dish where you cut the chicken breasts into strips to make your own along with lettuce, pica de gallo, and guacamole. The tacos were delish and I also enjoyed the rice and refried beans. The latter were not too heavy and hit the spot. My wife ordered surf and turf street tacos and approved highly of those. My son-in-law ordered a burrito that was huge but somehow he managed to finish it. My daughter got her favorite, quesadillas which were also great. Our server was awesome and checked in on us frequently. There was an assistant who kept our waters topped off as well. We can't wait to return and sample more off their menu. read more

My husband and I have tried twice now to get food from Puerta Vallarta since our favorite spot closed down in Kitsap. Tonight was so awful, and I usually don't review negative but the lack of attention was wild for our order. Firstly the quesadilla came completely uncut. Who doesn't cut a quesadilla? And we got delivery and didn't have the available tools to cut these as they didn't even give us deliver utensils like a fork and plastic knife. Secondly everything was so so so underseasoned. No flavor in my husband's burrito or my quesadilla when I did manage to mangle it to a bite. Thirdly the protein was gravely lacking in my husband's burrito. You pay a lot for these burritos and expect them to be packed with meat and all the goods. This one was all carbs. Overall I don't recommend this spot and will not be ordering again after multiple attempts for redemption. read more

The food was very good, fit exactly what we were craving. Inside was clean and since we were on knee scooters were placed at a table with area to stash our equipment during dinner. Managed to get on an earlier ferry from Edmonds than expected so we stopped in here for dinner before a bioluminescent kayaking trip that evening. The restaurant is large with nice decor and friendly staff. We were served chips, salsa, and beans when we were seated - the salsa was tasty and the beans were interesting: they tasted very heavily of meat, like a ton of beef fat or something was used, and it wasn't until the beans were cooled down that they started tasting like beans. I still can't decide if I liked it or not. I ordered the fiesta bowl with carne asada and had the option of sliced avocado or guacamole, so I chose guacamole. It was a hearty serving, despite it looking small, but I think that's mostly because the bowl was gigantic to begin with. There was nothing spectacular about this dish, and the meat wasn't anything special. There wasn't a ton of flavor even after adding all of the salsa verde and mixing in some hot sauce. It was filling and wasn't terrible given the limited options we had on that side of the water at that time. Would I be back? Probably not unless that was my only choice. read more

I walked to this restaurant from a location nearby where I was having my motorcycle service. It was around 1 PM and there was a few tables happening. Greeted at the door seated quickly, chips and salsa appeared out of thin air. A delightful margarita served in a big glass came next. The extensive menu Was gorgeous, I chose the chimichanga with the chicken. The food appeared extremely fast, hot and delicious. Rice beans, guacamole sour cream. I may have actually licked the plate. Used to be a premium experience restaurant. They had a tortilla maker in the lobby, would make fresh guacamole in front of you and had quite impressive flavors. Now they just serve you from the same vat of slop and charge you $30 for it. Latest experience: sat in the bar, 2 others at the bar and a pack of drunks being loud. Parking was abundant, the interior decor had that Spanish villa style, very cool. The bathroom was clean and also posses that Spanish villa style. The staff at this restaurant are very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant is very clean and located in a great area, but the food is satisfactory. I ordered a combination meal consisting of Carne Asada steak and a shrimp with mushroom dish. The Carne Asada was extremely tough and not very flavorful, my shrimp and mushroom dish mostly consisted of mushrooms and a few shrimp. It's different. So I have no Mexican decent but I would like to think I know a little on Mexican food. I've live in San Diego for almost forever, been to Mexico just as long, visited Texas more times than then I can count, and been to so many Mexican family parties I've gotten use to Dos Equis. But this is different. First the place is big. Plenty of dining area and I love the big wooden tables and chairs. Reminds me of Abuelo restaurant back in Virginia. I know you read that review. My issue is the food was something different. Like there was no flavor. I hate to say it but I needed salt on everything. First the carne asada burrito need salt and I wasn't expecting it wet. The meat was tough and filling pretty empty. The huevos con chorizo wasn't favorable. I had to drown that dish with the salsa I got with the chips. Overall three stars. Food wasn't as tasteful as I've hope but if you have a big gathering. This place will accommodate. Just have salt on standby. Now excuse me, I need some water. read more

We love this place. Every time we take the Kingston ferry we stop here. This restaurant transports you to Mexico. The decor is sophisticated and consistent throughout the restaurant. The staff are professional and friendly. We love the table side guacamole and the Sunset margaritas. The kids love that ice cream cones come with their meals. Ample parking, even for large vehicles. So when we first came to this area about 3 years ago this place was pretty good. About 2 months ago I had Carnitas (which they had done well before) and it was not that good. Tonight I decided to get Chile Verde because I have always though "It is tough to mess up Chile Verde", but they did, the chunks of meat were too big, they did not break apart like they should and then for some reason it was like they were rationing the sauce which could have saved the meal. I mostly ate rice, beans and chips tonight. My spouse had the Carnitas again and it has not improved since the last time (Not tender, chewy). I am guessing the lost their cook. read more
