A perennial local favorite that has never disappointed since I first tried it over twenty(!) years ago. The food is always hot, satisfying and varied just enough to suit every taste without sacrificing quality (best fish & chips in town). The beers are always solid - this place was, like Left Hand, among the first to usher in Longmont's microbrew Renaissance. why does PumpHouse even bother serving food. It's just one big Sysco restaurant... nothing felt like it was made in house. Let's start with hamburgers... their signature. The bun is TWICE as big as the burger. In a town with competition couldn't they find time to make/form their own burgers. Or to make them big enough to fit the bun. We thought we would try PH again after they closed for not paying for the liquor license but we won't make that mistake again. Food comes in the door frozen, gets zapped in the microwave then stovetop then the paying customer. Awful. Even a chain like five guys makes their own french fries. Not here. Barbeque. Not here. And Sysco has grades of hamburgers...tastes like PumpHouse is buying the cheapest. Good thing they have their liquor license back... food is miserable. read more

I do not recommend this place for food. Ordered a chicken BLT and it came out on molded bread. The cabo fish tacos came out 15 min after other 5 plates and were cold, i was told sorry got left on counter the just forgot to serve it. Sorry but this whole experience was epic fail. read more

I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. I don't understand the handful of negative reviews because I can always count on the Pumphouse for a good meal. I live within stumbling distance and I'm here at least a few times per month, especially during football season (the RedZone is great) and when the weather is nice (the patio is great, too). I've tried tons of menu items and I've never been disappointed. I was extremely skeptical of ordering a seared ahi tuna salad in Longmont, but it's delicious! The black & blue burger, cilantro lime shrimp tacos, reuben, and chile rejenos are some of my favorites. The nachos are enormous and use fresh jalapenos. A Longmont community cornerstone. From rotating taps, to the old mainstays, Pumphouse rarely disappoints. On the beer front, the Shockwave and Red Alert are favorites. The fruitier beers are fascinating flavor experiments to be approached with cautious curiosity. Be sure to ask for a taster if you're not sure. They have a diverese menu of american, mexican, italian (and even asian) that helps bring people who can't agree where to go coming back to the same place. read more

Found this place driving south on Main St in downtown Longmont. Curb appeal prompted me to look up the menu on line and I was sold, I had to go in. Unique beers on tap, my choice was the Shockwave, a nice full-bodied dark beer. It was hard for me to pick just one appetizer, but I did: the pork carnitas tacos tasted every bit as good as the description, no disappointment here. I fell in love with the tomatillo-habanero salsa served on the side. Nice spice there. Next I had the Ahi Tuna salad. Think sushi with lots of lettuce, green onion NSA and red bell peppers instead of rice. Yum! The honey sesame vinaigrette did not sound like it would add to the flavor pallet in a way I wanted so I had some more of the tomatillo-habanero on the side. Our favorite place on a Sunday when it's "patio season". Love to grab a beer with lunch and people watch (front and center to Longmont's Main Street). Have yet to order something on the menu we haven't liked. We've also gone "late night" to the Red Zone for cocktails and nachos which are the BEST and the drinks are reasonably priced. read more

I will never make the mistake of coming back here again. We ended up going here after a night of bingo, on the recommendation of a co-worker. Four of us, including myself, get there about 9:00ish. Figured it would be pretty busy for a Friday night, so we were prepared for a wait but definitely weren't prepared for the awful service and average food. From the moment we walked in, it was as if we were a major inconvenience to every single server, host(ess), and manager we encountered. We walked in the back door and were slightly confused about where the host stand was so we waited about 3 minutes to even be acknowledged by the two mangers who were arguing by the computer. Finally, one of them noticed us and told the other guy to walk us up front, completely acting as if we didn't exist. The chore of walking us to the host stand was met by more silence to us and a minute or two of trying to figure out where to seat us in the mostly empty restaurant. The host brought us to our table (right by the back door, where we started....) and pretended to give a crap about us for all of thirty seconds, explaining the beer menu and then awkwardly walking away and immediately coming back to tell us something else. It was weird. Our server was awful. He looked pained as he took our order (I had a turkey sandwich with brie, pears and a cranberry sauce, boyfriend had a burger, friend #1 had a salad and friend #2 had a sandwich) and then basically disappeared. The food was pretty bleh, not awful, not great. The salad, that was "totally" vegetarian, had bacon on it so that was a huge waste and we couldn't even get refills on our drinks because he was no where to be found. Splitting the check was a total clusterf*ck, I guess he didn't understand that we were four people on three checks or something....? It took another 10 minutes to even get our check to pay and then another 20 to come back, get the cards, run them, and bring our receipts to sign. Apparently, you have to be a regular or work there to get any service at all. We watched our server talk to his buddies, hit on some of the bartenders and other servers, and basically screw around the entire time we were there. It's a serious shame that this place is run SO badly because the building is awesome and the beer was good. But I can guarantee I will NEVER be back and I will let everyone I know how awful our experience was. read more

I liked this establishement and would have liked to give it a 3 or even a four. Unfortunately when I visited it they served food that gave me food poisoning. I got the seared tuna salad (sashimi style). Although the tuna was *not* recently seared instead it was refrigerator cold. Heating up food, keeping it "sashimi" raw and not serving it at once is a sure way of inviting a bacteria invasion. Which I was an unfortunate victim of. What ticks me off is that I contacted them over e-mail but they have not responded in three days. At least an apology or whatever response would be better that no response. I will visit the place again ... but for food? only if it is deep fried and germ-free read more

I was in Longmont for a brewery tour, and needed some food before we continued onto Boulder for more beer! Pumphouse Brewery is in a cool historic building with lots of cool firefighter memorabilia to look at! The beer was pretty good, and the food was even better! The service, however, really knocked my experience out of the park. Our waitress was incredibly helpful, cheery, not overbearing, and very pleasant to talk to! WOW!!! What a great place. Huge patio that is dog friendly. Caroline was our waitperson and she was extraordinary. We didn't want to be rushed and she was cool with us taking all the time we needed to visit with family while we were in town. Menu is amazing. A multi purpose location, you can come eat some amazing food at the restaurant with your family, or hang out on the bar side (RedZone) with your friends. The restaurant offers awesome food, a tad pricey but worth it for the quality and portion you get, vast selection as well. The bar side known as RedZone is only open to 21 and over after a certain time in the evening, and is a great nightlife spot if you're looking for one on Main Street. The beer is their own brew and is great, there's something for everyone from wheats, to stouts and porters, IPAs, Kolschs, Lagers, Sours and more! Your style and taste in beer will be accommodated here! A great place to watch sporting events, though it's popular and gets crowded so arrive early to stake a spot. They open early on Sunday mornings during NFL season, and there is an avid NBA, and NHL presence. During the MLB season the warm weather opens up the seating options as the patio is open and with TVs everywhere you can't miss out on the game you want to watch! read more

The atmosphere and service is great. I enjoy the fresh variety of mouth watering samples on the menu like a 'bar / grill' would carry. Fresh and tasty. The beers are wonderful and waiters knowledge of the beer list is exceptional and well versed....the only issue I have is...after drinking a few beers became a bit loopy and the bartender was able to swendle several more drinks out of me taking advantage of my disposition with the tip and cost as I adjourned to the Restroom - not cool. Happened to my friend as well a week later. Recommend, just be watchful of the bartender. read more

I've gone here for YEARS and it's always a good go-to when you want good food and beer, and, if you do it right, good atmosphere. The patio is THE PLACE TO BE on summer afternoons. It's just the kind of place you drive by and WANT TO BE THERE. Overall, I've had very good service experiences, but the last time I was at The Red Zone (a month ago) I was with a large party, and the waitress seemed to be freaking out about it. That wasn't great, but we had a great time anyway. But a few years ago, I arranged to have a large birthday-slash-baby shower party in the upstairs area, which they gave us all to ourselves for no extra charge. All guests just handled their own tickets, and things were TERRIFIC. I'm glad that The Pumphouse is faring so well among Longmont restaurants that tent to come and go. There is a secret back door with walls of vintage beer bottles/cans, been going here for years... Bomb beer, big portions, great chill servers/bartenders. Burgers and sweet potato fries are amazing, ive had fish tacos, fish and chips, coleslaw is tasty, spicy mac and cheese, nachos with pulled pork, and maybe everything else on the menu too. They have something for everyone, unless your vegan or a hater, then you shouldnt go there anyways, Boulder is a short drive down 119. The upstairs and patio service is the only thing that could be better, but the place is huge so understandable... if you're in Longmont check this place out, you wont be sorry and you wont leave hungry or sober... read more

After being turned down at a prior restaurant for having a dog with us, we found this brewery. We were very happy with our choice here, because the service was friendly and accurate. We called in prior to arriving about having a dog and they said we were okay to sit on the patio, which as great. The drinks were affordable and the food was hot and fresh, we all liked what we ordered. The drink selection was large, even for people that couldn't drink beer there were still good choices for them. Overall a good experience and a very good Sunday. read more

Like has been noted, they have an awesome patio when the weather is good. The food is pretty standard American style and pub foods, burgers, chicken fried chicken, fish and chips, etc. They also have a decent variety of salads. I love the chicken fried chicken! I think it is my favorite. The portions are really big. There is just something about the atmosphere here that makes it feel like a good place to come and get some delicious, if unhealthy, food. I can't speak to the beer (though my husband seems to like it) but the food is pretty good, the servers are always nice, and I enjoy coming here. read more

I wanted to like this place having always passed the location in Ft Collins years ago and seeing it packed. I sat at the bar with 3 friends for appetizers and beers, and wish we had gone anywhere else. Service was fine, but the food was disgusting, and the beer was not much better. We had 4 appetizers, all the quality of costco microwave food, but 10x the price. I drank 3 of their beers and tried 2 others, not impressed at all. I'm no connoisseur, but having been to about a dozen breweries in the last two months, I would expect a place like this to have something better than my friends first home brew attempt out of a brew kit. read more
