When there is an extreme heat advisory for the area, that's the perfect time to come here and feel some Miami heat! That can be felt on the porch area -- no, it's nothing like actual Miami levels of heat out there .... What you can definitely feel, though, is the Miami cool! Basically, the best parts of Miami have been brought for you to enjoy with about 1% or less of the travel required .... Nice oceanside vibes permeate the indoor part of this place, with a club-like feel of pulsing music (at least sometimes!). Just plain fun! Oh, yeah, and the food is absolutely fantabulous. It's great to be able to order semi-sweet drinks that don't have added sugar in them, such as the Miami Mocha that I had today. This is actually just about the only place where I like the bowls! Usually, the whole 'bowl' thing is ... subpar, let's say. Here, it is not! It is above par. I love that I can have quinoa instead of rice, because I love quinoa! The flavour combos are amazing as is and you can take out anything you'd rather not have, too. The to-go tidbits (not that you can't eat them in the restaurant itself, that is!) are great -- Almond Butter Energy Bites and the bright orangey juices (going by looks, not ingredients, ha ha!) are all super-tasty. They go down real easy! This is a place where you can get healthy, filling, nutritious food without the hassle of trying to .... It's very much an overall lifestyle place, not just a place to go chow down on some grub (though of course you can do that, too!). It's ... enhancing for bodies and minds that want to expand or stabilize -- a very conscious-feeling place. Most wonderful! The staff are all friendly, ordering is easy, parking is ... well, it's plentiful-yet-crowded depending on the time of arrival. There are accessible spots not far away. There's a nice little area for getting water, straws, sugar, and the cleanest-looking disposal area for your trash and recyclables just about anywhere! (Okay, the #1 cleanest and sleekest-looking I've ever seen!) Bonus: I've also found the other patrons to be really nice, smiley, friendly, community-minded, caring people ... so it just feels great here for every reason! It looks very pretty, too! Phenomenal place for smoothies with a clean, "coastal cool" vibe :) This restaurant has become a favorite when I want a sweet treat after taking classes at the nearby fitness studios in the shopping center. I order via the app right after my class and it is usually ready to pick up from the counter in 5 minutes or less. This time around was no different; I was super impressed that my order was ready before I made the walk there! I ordered the "Welcome to Miami" smoothie, which includes mango, pineapple, and passion fruit, and is one of the many dairy-free smoothie options they have. We stopped by for breakfast and enjoyed their take on breakfast sandwiches. The croissant sandwich was good, but a little too thin to hold the ingredients. I did like the sauce that came with it. Winter salad - the dressing and the fennel brought so much flavor to the salad I really enjoyed it and will probably get it again next time I go. Chicken Caesar - not a ton of flavor, but filling. It comes with a sauce but it's a pretty basic wrap Breakfast egg sandwich - came with a nice dijon mustard sauce. This is a great vegetarian option and uses medium boiled eggs. The eggs also tasted like high quality the yoke was really good. Blueberry loaf - tasted good, not out of this world, but I would get it again with a latte. Came here on opening day and this place was packed. Big fan of this Florida chain. Loved the decor, ambiance, decorations and lighting here. The staff were really friendly and attentive. I got the New Yorker bagel and the Detox shot. The sour dough bagel was light and airy. The scallion dill cream cheese and smoked salmon were delicious. Seating here is limited and they do have seats outside with umbrella. The food was served quickly and the location was spotless. Big fan of the color combinations and the healthy food options. If you're looking for upscale Miami vibes, this is it. Wicker chairs, large ceiling fans, and open/white spaces. Everything we tasted was refreshing and light, perfect for this neighborhood area; it was also very pricey. My lunch of: salmon bowl, smoothie, and tahini cookie were $52. Had a really great time after a hot yoga class. My friend and I both had a wrap - she had falafel and I had a tuna poke wrap. It was fresh and really delicious. It was also a nice surprise to be able to order lunch food instead of breakfast around 9 am. Emely was our server and she promptly serve us our cappuccinos and was really accommodating in getting us additional sauces for our respected wraps. It was an overall fun meal. Pura Vida is a stunningly beautiful space. It certainly was a relief to be inside during the frigid, grimy winter season we've had. It evokes Miami's South Beach vibe - and why wouldn't it? Correct, that on a Valentine's Day weekend (opening), the place was packed, but the service moved at a reasonable rate from front of house ordering until food was delivered to the table. Kale, Quinoa, Avacado, Spinach...the emphasis is on clean and healthy eating. Kudos for bringing this to a county that has its share of fast, high-caloric food places. The menu is a blend of breakfast faves, salads, bowls and some sandwiches. Had the empanadas and they were savory and filling. The Spicy Aioli and spicy soy ginger sides were perfect for dipping. BTW, there are more than a dozen sauces from which to choose. The Tuna Poke wrap had a great mix of textures and tastes. And last, the Pesto Chicken sandwich was fresh and flavorful. So, the reason for the 4 stars - you'll have to bring a big wallet to Pura Vida. Lunch for 3 with bottled drinks, appetizers, main course, tax and tip was well over a "C note". First time at the new Pura Vida Miami in Cabin John Village. It's a very pretty restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is extensive and the food is beautiful. One orders at the counter and then one of the staff members brings it out to your table. Thankfully, there are signs on the tables to ask patrons to limit their stay for only 45 minutes. This can be a problem when a single individual is working on a computer at a table that is set for four people. (True everywhere now I suppose.) I ordered a cookie and a smoothie to go and it took about 30 minutes. It wasn't packed but I thought maybe they were baked up but they just forgot about my order. I also didn't really like how it was handled. There was another customer who ordered right before me and they also forgot their order. They were given a refund, when I asked if I was getting the same thing as well I was told no. That left a bad taste in my mouth so I don't think I will come back. Other than that the cashier who took my order was very friendly. Besides that the smoothie was fine, to me it's a bit overpriced because I got a basic one but if you get one of the other ones that are more novelty it may be worth it for you. I was told the walnut cookie was one of their popular ones but I found it a bit dry. The restaurant is very beautiful and clean I liked that there was a sink to wash your hands and outside seating it will probably be very nice in summer. Arrived here at 6:40 PM and they were out of all wraps, salmon, and falafels. We ordered: One chicken bowl, one tuna bowl, one cup iced tea, one hummus appetizer and one empanada appetizer. Total was $84. We asked that the dressing be put on side of tuna the bowl. Asked for iced tea with no ice and was told "I already put ice in, nothing I can do." Tuna bowl came with dressing all over the top of it. When we told the waiter we had ordered dressing to be on the side, he said he would "have to check the receipt before he could do anything about it" and then he never came back. Seemed angry and annoyed. The hummus appetizer was given to us with 5 tiny pieces of one pita (which looked to be less than 1/2 of one pita).... definitely not enough to eat the hummus on the plate. We asked for additional pita chips and was told "sorry that would be an up charge." Will never eat here again ---absolutely overcharged for what you get. This restaurant is more focused on nickel and diming their customers than anything else. Never coming back. Awful. Go to Playa Bowls cheaper nicer and same quality. read more
